I hate him with all my heart, but I’m forever marked by his torturing touch… Driving me insane seems like a new hobby for Tyler Michaelson.
I happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time. But I couldn’t let him murder an innocent man in front of me. Especially since I was the one he really wanted to kill, to begin with.
I was hired to gather all the data about Tyler’s monstrous crimes, and agreeing was the worst decision of my life. It was foolish to go after a crime lord who looks like an angel but has the soul of the Devil.
Now, I’m trapped inside his gilded cage.
Yet, I won’t let him break me. It doesn’t matter if his sweet torturing, kisses, and teases leave me breathless. I will escape him, even if this is the last thing I do…
His kisses are my poison. His touch? my death wish…
*If you are a good girl dreaming of a knight in shining armor, then step away from this novel! If you fantasize about hot, wildly sexy alpha males, then this one's for you! My heroes are dangerous, dark, and demanding—an HEA guaranteed with no cheating but lots of pain and pleasure. You have been warned! Proceed at your own risk…
As a teenager, Faye used to read at night with a flashlight underneath her bed covers. She fantasized of bad boys who stopped at nothing to capture the hearts and bodies of their women, and of equally strong heroines. Make no mistake, there are no damsels in distress in her world.
Her addiction is the “enemies to lovers” trope, and maybe that’s why when she first met her husband, their chemistry was just as sizzling as their disapproval of each other. But as in her novels, passion won, and now they live through their happily ever after.
By day, she is taking care of her household. By night, her shadow self emerges to satisfy her undisclosed desires. Literary and not.
If you are looking for a dark mafia captivity that will melt you… then this book is NOT for you.
Another book I picked because of a beautiful and captivating cover and was sadly disappointed. I really struggled reading this one. I could not connect with the characters, and I did not enjoy the reading style of the author. Plus, it’s just at almost 500 pages unnecessarily long.
This was a great story in the mafia world. I really enjoyed the multiple POVs and didn’t realize that having Hendrix POV would be vital to understand the story. I absolutely love Ty and Lia’s connection and their building relationship. This gave you excitement, anxiety, happiness, sadness and a beautiful HEA!
Oh my goodness! Ty and Lia had me at the edge of my seat! These two had such a strong connection you knew it was going to be special! I loved how easily they could come together and trust one another! I’m so glad they had each other! The ending was just perfect! ❤️
Lia Golding's life was a mess, she was the daughter of Marina Fiorena, a cop, one of Boston's fiercest, Lia had dreams of Art School but her mother committed suicide and her father had vanished leaving her to pay his enormous debts to The Sons on Celt, Boston's most dangerous mob. From a young age Tia's mother had taught her how to take care of herself and she had never needed that knowledge more. Tia was to enter the world of the mobsters, the mafia gangs all fighting for supremacy at whatever the cost. Her meeting with Tyler (Ty) Cantori wasn't the best, she was caught stealing information for a rival gang but the magnetic attraction was instant for the beautiful , feisty blond and the handsome Italian. This book follows the love story between Tia and Ty, the waring mafia gangs all of whom wanted to get their hands on Tia, Micky Weiss, her mother's ex partner who was determined to prove that she was murdered for the information that she had collected, the doubts placed in Tia's mind, Ty's determination to keep her safe, but mostly the overwhelming passion between Tia and Ty. Faye Pearce has written a book full of passion, action and suspense, she has created wonderful characters from Ty's troubled and sometimes violent cousin, Daniel, who Ty loved like a brother knowing what he had had to endured from his sociopathic father who was now rotting in jail, to Sara, Tia's beautiful best friend who was always there for her. I really look forward to reading more of these characters. Ireceived a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.
I enjoyed Devil’s Cage and recommend it to those interested in the mafia genre.
✅ The MCs had good chemistry and there was excellent action, humor, backstory, and side characters.
✅ Looking back, I made a total of 10 notes about grammar/missing words/misspelled word. That’s not bad at all in a nearly 500 page book.
❌ I felt like the author got a little off track with the blurb/title. There was about two seconds where the FMC wanted to escape.
❌ It was just too long and I kept having to keep my mind on track and not wandering. I would have appreciated more side character interaction and less waffling about how wrong this is, poor me, etc.
Tyler/Lia M/F Very Light BDSM 3 POV - 1 bad guy (nice touch 🤌) Multiple Mafias - mostly Italian Enemies to lovers
I received a free ARC to review. All opinions are my own and a positive review is not required.
DNF.. there is too much stupidity and hypocrisy all wrapped up in once idiotic character . I get adding juxtaposition to a character for the purpose of dimension, but it’s hardly believable nor is it compelling enough to make the story any better. Nothing worse when said character who tried to act with morals when her doings are anything but . Then flip flops back and forth . It’s ridiculous and makes the h so unlikable . Who tells a mafioso to call an ambulance when they inflicted said wound? Why act like you are some martyr when your intentions are worst considering you are doing the same thing for money , and not because you are part of the problem . dumb
Lia is left to pay her scum father's debt to one of the most notorious dangerous mobs in Boston after he skips town. She needs money asap to pay back The Sons of Celt their money. So Lia takes a job with a rival gang to earn the money. But the info they want is on the head of The Sons of Celt Tyler Cantori. Yep she gets caught trying to steal the info by none other than Tyler himself. Ty finds himself not only attracted to his little thief but wanting to protect and care for her. I loved both Lia and Ty. I thought Lia was strong willed and determined. She’s sassy and feisty. Ty is a dangerous man but I adored his protective nature Lia brings out of him. He’s never wanted a relationship with a woman. But with Lia that changes. Seeing their relationship grow and bloom was heartwarming and sexy. Their developing love story also revolves around the mafia life and rival families. The story is filled with action and suspense, lust and passion and is a definite page turner. I also loved the secondary characters as well.
The Devil’s Cage was so good that it was hard to put down.
Ty was the mob boss of the Michaelson family in Boston. He ruled differently than his hard nose, hard hitting father. His cousin Daniel was his second in command. Their fathers were brothers and Ty’s father was the boss. Lia was a nineteen year old college student majoring in Art. Her mother was a police officer who was killed but made to look like suicide. She taught Lia how to protect herself and she was fierce in trying to undercover the truth about her mother death. Lia was sin debt to the Sons of Celt due to her father and she was trying to pay off by getting a job with some other bad people. I loved Lia’s fight when she protected Ty and his men when the ate take out food laced with sleeping powder. The house was invaded and she was supposed to be kidnapped. This is a great story and it shows the strength of a young woman who had lost everything. I highly recommend if you like reading about strong alpha mafia men and a strong but true submissive woman. Five stars!
This is the hardest part of reading a book, writing a review and not giving much away, I loved this book, it was brilliant, it is a real page turner, you just cant put it down. This is one of the best I have read from this author, it is dark and light at the same time, a perfect balance, full of passion, action and suspense.
This is Lia and Ty's story.
Lia was down on her luck left in debt by her dad that owed money to the mob and needed to get it quick. So she was hired by a rival mob to get information off a computer about Ty's crimes and then wipe the hard drive, but things went wrong and she was captured by him.
Ty never cared for women didn't want one in his life but there was something about sassy Lia that drew him to her, he needed to protect her and keep her safe, keep his enemies from getting to her.
I loved the twists and turns in this book and looking forward to hopefully reading more about the other characters. I would highly recommend this book.
There is so much to this story that it's hard to characterize in a review. The story has many layers with a MMC, Ty; the head of the Michaelson crime family and Lia the daughter of a slain officer, her mother.
Its's a very convoluted storyline with many players and many evolving sequence of events that take the reader on a wild ride. I suggest you don't skim this story because of the number of characters that are involved in the book.
Lia is tasked ( blackmailed) with finding dirt on the Michaelson family who she believes had something to do with her mother's death in order to pay off a debt she is told she owes. So many players and so much deception leads her to being kidnapped by Ty, the head of the Michaelson crime family. Once the dirt has settled and Ty finds out that Lia is as much a victim as he is, they begin to slowly trust each other while the chemistry between them jumps off the page. She becomes someone that his family believes they need to protect in order to get to the bottom of what is going on with their enemy Hendricks. She is held at his home while the story evolves and Hendrick's attempts to kill her and well as crush Ty's empire.
She's tough, smart and savvy aiding Ty in defending his family as well as calming the growing angst amongst other criminal families.
It is well paced, has plenty of chemistry between our two characters with a solid backstory for each and a great ending. A few typo's but the writing and storyline is very solid.
This was a good story for the most part. The blurb is a bit too zealous for the book and what it brings. The FMC doesn’t feel trapped to me as the reader, and didn’t pursue the chances she got to run. The book is rather long and it included quite a bit of self pity and poor decisions in response to what she's experienced first hand. Believing the lies from snakes while she’s living with the one accused. The story originally starts because of a need for money- but then evolves into avenging her mothers death- but there’s so much not said before those connections are made. I liked the tone of the bad guys had some chapters in his POV bc those ones really tied in the holes I noticed in the story before hand.
Tia and Tyler- he's Mafia and she's so young to have to shoulder the debt to the mob that her father left behind when he ran. Jerk. Tia has to get a lot of money fast. Taking a job to get info about Ty off a cop's computer, she got caught, by Ty. Our author has created wonderful characters, interesting and heartbreaking back stories that our couple had to work through and well described locations. Tia's best friend is Sarah and she is so supportive. Ty's cousin Daniel is so messed up but dearly loved. I hope they both get to tell their story. There is so much depth to this story of danger, steam, twists and turns that take you in unexpected directions. A great read.
When I found out this is Boston based I was excited. Me being a Massachusetts girl myself. Ty is the complete opposite of what I thought he would be. Lia is strong smart and a bad a$$ b!tch. Sara is the best friend I want. I laughed, cried and smiled over this book. There are plenty of triggers. It’s Mafia!!! Danny is my favorite character! Danny and Ty are not your typical mafia men. I love the growth of all the characters.
Characters:10/10 Plot:10/10 Spicy: 9.5/10 Trope: Mafia Triggers: Murder, Sexual content
After reading devil's cage, I wanted to scream. I feel that the chemistry between lie and ty goes so well together. they fit It's like there's an attraction between each other. And the scene where the two meet is very exciting. I can't stop reading. and when it ends I was impressed And I've never been disappointed with Faye's work.
and the sentence I like the most
"I vowed to fix whatever the hell had made her cry"
If you like dark mafia romance novels. you will like this 😉
Lia has been left to clean up a mess her father left and she is given a job of breaking into a house and getting rid of evidence on a computer. Ty catches her in the process while he is going after the same evidence. He kidnaps her and hides her from the people after her. Things get steamy, people come after her and a twist at the end keeps things interesting. Ty ends up being a good guy and Lia is stronger than she knows. Well done mafia romance.
I was lucky enough to receive an ARC on this book and I'm so happy I got to read this early. Lia and Tyler's twisted rollar coaster of a story is amazing. This is the first I've read of this author and I've just went searching for more. I NEED THE NEXT BOOK!! This story will have your emotions running on high alert ready to break you and pull you back in.. loved it..must read.
I really like the story. Lea and Tyler are great couple. Lea was too trusting. I also like her friend Sara and Tyler’s cousin Danny. It was a little bit long, I would shorten chapter 24 to 29. I enjoy the last chapter and epilogue. Thank you for free read. Looking forward to read more books by Faye Pierce.
I think this story was very well written. I enjoyed the book as a whole. For some reason though, as I was reading it, there were times when I felt like I was right there with the characters, but there were also times I felt disconnected from the characters. Overall, however, I really liked this book.
This book was a rollercoaster ride and I enjoyed every minute of it. Lia was very surprising and such a badass! I loved how strong she was and could handle whatever came her way. I also loved Ty and his sensitive side, he was very sweet and caring but also had that dark side. This was my very first Faye Pierce and I can't wait to read more!
This is a very good story about the mafia and a young woman trying to pay off her father's debts get caught between two families and finds out who killed her mother The characters are strong and brave and determined and there is a happy ending Very well written
I feel like I just read a version of this. Milquetoast mafioso meets indebted girl...queue captor/captive shenanigans...insta-lust 😒 ...hmm..I mean "love" and happy ending...queue 🌇. I like a good dark romance. Notice I used the word "Good". Yeah, this is Not one of those.
Devils Cage is Lia and Tyler's story. I think this might be my favourite Hot Mafia tale All the best ingredients and moves at a great pace, never bored with the telling
A great and entertaining story. Kept me at the edge of my seat wanting to know what was gonna happen. Very well put together and great use of details. Easy to read and understand
Very powerful story dark and delicious as a good mafia romance should be. To my mind one of the author's best. I enjoyed it immensely and if you like this genre I am sure you will as well.
So nice to see a woman kicking butt and not waiting for a man to rescue her. the chemistry between tyler and lie was off the charts. Definitely recommend.
Ty and Lia's story is one filled with danger, suspense and romance. I loved the characters and the budding romance that drew them together in a time where love was the last thing Ty wanted.
This is a good mafia book. The interaction between the two are something else. I enjoyed this book a little to long but good. Otherwise I would recommended it to people that like mafia books.
