I'm actually DNFing this and I feel crazy about it, but I just can't get passed the betrayal of Trixie wanting to give Lucifer a chance just because of some mating bond. Like... I know it is necessary to advance the plot because otherwise this book couldn't exist, but holy shit... Lucifer has made Barista's life a living hell. People have been killed in his name. He has made the lives of Barista's friends a living hell, kidnapped them, hurt them, almost killed them. And rather than stand by her employer and the person who has treated her kindly and respectfully all these years and, you know, pushed back EVEN A LITTLE about this... she's just is like, "Well, if you want me you're going to have to give your abuser a chance, too."

I just can't move past it! I know Lucifer is going to be redeemed or whatever and I usually love a bad dude, but I wish Evans had gone about this a little differently because it really just didn't sit right with me. She should have been 100% on Barista's side and forced Lucifer to win her over. Instead it feels like Barista is being forced to put aside all this trauma and no one else has to make any sacrifices.

I just cannot.

Well this is it friends - Creature Cafe series has finally wrapped up and it was a beautiful ending. Throughout the series we followed the Barista matchmaking humans and monsters. Because even the scariest monsters deserve love too. We didn't know much about the Barista but as every novella was released we got more and more glimpses into who the Barista is, learned about his ex-mate, and potential new mate. I don't want to give too much away but this book was absolutely perfection. It wrapped up every loose end we had from book 9's cliffhanger.

Clio delievered once again with incredible spice and sex in this one and you will not be disappointed. If I have stressed this enough...pleased read the series because it is the perfect read in between bigger books and just great SMUT with a wholesome love story too.

the goodies:
BDSM
daddy kink
knotting
tail sex
flogging
bites
fated mayes
coffee play!!!

What in the prologue!?!? What in the about turn!?

When Seth mentioned Lucy needed therapy and Gabe mentioned they needed couples therapy and Lucy was a gaslighter, they were so correct. What sort of intro was that?!

The biggest let down with this story is that from book 1 Lucy was set up as the big, bad, human hating monster...then all of a sudden we are meant to just suspend our belief/disbelief because the power of love and human pussy/ass saves the day right? Right?!

Then, I wanted more of Trixie's backstory. What is the hurt and abandonment that she keeps on referring to that by the end we still don't know anything about? Then she was made into the classical, clichéd TSTL character, she has no powers/anything to protect her, but of course when she speaks all will listen and she goes throwing herself into fights because she is death proof.

Everything I had  believed I knew about myself had been burned to ashes. All of my hate for humans had been bled out of me, and I’d found myself wondering about the times I used to love them.

You see like the above quote? You don't just make an about turn and everything is going to be all right. Lucy if anything needed human rehab.

Then another cardinal sin, chai is referenced as chai tea. My friend. Chai ni chai. Either call it tea, or chai but not chai tea jameni.

“You’re safe with me,” he whispered. “And if he fights them, then you are safe with him too.”

No she's not! And overall the book was hot. The scenes between Trixie+Barista, Trixie+Lucy were overall much hotter than those of them as a throuple or Barista+Lucy alone. Why? Because I was just waiting for Lucy to about turn on them. (And he did, to some extent).

So, in conclusion, didn't live up to my expectation for the final, hyped book. None of them got the much needed therapy, just adding on hybrid kids that they'll eventually fuck up. Also the fact that Gabe was still hurt and Lucy didn't really apologize, in my head space, they lived happily ever after for a while, then he about turned and fucked it up again.

This book was EVERYTHING!

I’ve loved this series since I picked up book 1 and binge read to book 6. Each book since then has been such an anticipated release for me. However, book 10 was THE book. This is the book I’ve been waiting for since the beginning.

This is the story of our Barista, Trixie, and Lucy aka Lucifer.

To be honest, I’m not sure what I expected Clio to write for this book with all the past events, but I knew what I wanted and Clio went above and beyond.

The barista is perfection, not that I ever doubted, but when he finally gives into Trixie I was left panting! The scene with the coffee..I think it will forever live on in my dreams. We get to see a loving side of him that made me swoon for him even more especially when paired with how possessive and protective he can be. Also, his shadow? I can rant about him forever but what matters is that he’s a 10/10. Probably a 12/10 because … shadow and coffee.

Lucy! LUCIFER! This was the character I was WORRIED about. I wasn’t sure where the story would go with him considering all the build up from books 1-9. Can he find love? Be loved? Can he stop his path of destruction? The answer is yes and it’s beautiful. The vulnerability Clio constructed around his character while showing his want to be loved by our other 2 characters made it hard not to fall for him. She took this villain and made him huggable and I love that.

Trixie! She really is a ball of sunshine but she’s also sharp, sassy, and not afraid to say what she wants/needs/likes. She is the perfect character to have in the middle of our 2 guys. She creates a balance and brings out the sides of them we needed to see. This ménage was so perfectly balanced and she was definitely key to that.

If you can’t tell, I loved this book. I could keep going but honestly, you just need to read it. This is by far my favorite book of this novella series and I’m so sad to see it end but I know these characters will live on and I hope to see them again soon.

Clio! Thank you for creating a world of love, acceptance, diversity, and spice. Out of everything , that’s really what the reoccurring theme of this series and it’s one that’s so important.

I freaking loved this book so much! I love how Lucy was able to grow from his past ways and was able to get his happy ending even though I wanted to toss my kindle during at point 😅. I’m glad the Barista FINALLY got his girl!! Trixie is a freaky little thing and I love it! In true Clio fashion her spicy scenes are 🥵😮‍💨🥵. I could honestly say more but then I’d end up spoiling and we can’t have that!

Have you ever read a book that you are both excited for and apprehensive of because it is the end of characters you have grown to love? That was this book. As delighted as I was to read it, I was also sad since I knew I'd be saying goodbye to some fabulously kinky creatures and the humans that care for them...

This is the epic conclusion, y'all... Everything had led up to the Barista vs. Lucifer showdown, which was nothing like I expected but everything I wanted!

Trixie is a bada$$... I guess you kinda have to be to take on the Barista and Lucy… only a strong woman can handle these two. The Barista and Lucy have some serious baggage… will they be able to set aside their differences to prevent the war of all wars?

Little Souls of Fire had it all. Romance, suspense, steam, and incredible characters... and anybody who knows me knows that enemies to lovers is my crack... And the Barista and Lucifer...are the best kind of enemies!

This final book in the series...in fact, the entire series...gets my highest recommendation. The Creature Cafe series is my “gold standard” for all monster romances and a must-read for all monster fans out there!

Ahhh, I’m so sad and happy all at once!
This was a perfect end to this incredible series. Clio really did it justice.
For this whole series being novella length, there was great plot and INCREDIBLE spice!
The variety of monsters, tropes, kinks, sexual preferences, etc. was varied and inclusive.
Anyone who loves monsters or is curious, this is also the series I point them too!

I’m not going to mention too much of the plot in this book because 1 - it’s short and 2 - I think the surprises should be experienced by the reader. BUT I will say Trixie is a fucking baddie little switch and Barista is such a daddy Dom and surprise turn of events Lucy is a good little sub. What a triple threat. Ha.

Thank you for giving us Creature Cafe, Clio, I cannot wait for Christmas to visit all these characters again for a little reunion.

Things I liked:
Lucy and Barista getting back together
Trixie finally getting with Barista
The spice

Things I didn’t like:
Trixie never told her mates about her past
Vagueness behind why they initially broke up (I can’t remember if there are more details in a previous book, but I would’ve liked a recap here)

Spice: 4/5

Triggers: blood, murder, battle, mentions of mass murder, mentions of toxic parent child relationship, pregnancy

I can't deny this one was epic. More like an old-school paranormal books, not a goddamn half animal - half human creatures, kinda...

Lemme tell u...

Barista aka Grim Reaper aka Daddy Dom
Lucy aka Lucifer aka sub
Once they were mate
Trixie aka their human

And there is Barista's shadow...
Oh Lord...

But my reaction remains.
Are you fucking kidding me.

(Arc review) Here in Brazil we have a saying that says something like “in the home of a blacksmith, the utensils are made of wood” 😂 this is Barista in a nutshell.
He finds love for the vilest of creatures, but when it comes to his own mates, he’s incredibly obtuse.
But the time has come to deal with his love life, and little does he know things will go a very different way than he expects.
I love these characters, even Lucy 😂, and this is my favorite from the series. A beautiful and worthy ending.

You’re a little fire that I want to burn myself on.

If I am being 100% honest, this entire series has felt like one big tease constantly edging us readers, leading up to this 10th and final book featuring the monster matchmaker Grim Reaper Barista, his employee Trixie, and the Devil himself Lucifer aka Lucy aka Barista’s ex. The tension, the groveling, the begging, the praise! I’m melting just thinking about it.

And while I have loved getting to know, experience, and fall for all these other couples this finale was the climax my brain, heart, soul, and body needed. It was everything I wanted it to be and more. I knew Barista was going to be my ultimate Daddy. He just has that energy and I wasn’t wrong. He delivered that perfect mix of softness, stern punishments, humiliation, and praise. Ugh. He’s just perfect. Trixie and Lucy are some lucky bitches.

There was no monster in heaven or hell that would ever take this from me.

I can’t lie. I cried a little when I finished LSOF. I have enjoyed this series more than I can explain. It’s such a special series that has such a vast variety of monsters and kinks. It’s sex positive, with good communication, and an excellent entry into the world of monster romances.

All books are available on KU and are perfect for reading in one sitting. Highly recommend you read books in order

Kinks/tropes: Dom/sub dynamics, spit kink, praise, knotting, multiple partners, double penetration, choking/breath play, impact play, blood play, touch of sadism/masochism, Daddy kink, size differences, huge anatomy, shadow sex (Barista has a shadow that can and does participate), groveling, tail play, second chance

I was a little disappointed. I knew the moment couple therapy was mentioned in Gabe's book, it would be Trixie to reunite them. The cliffhanger from the previous book was so promising and then mystery over.
Trixie's way of playing mediator was brutal, not taking into account the Barista's trauma. It felt like she'd picked Lucifer and he was being dragged along for the ride. Lucifer was pathetic. From book 1, there's been a big bad monster build up for Lucifer and then like the rest, realizes he has a human mate and its all-downhill groveling from there. Two of the biggest monsters and its Trixie calling the shots. I did like how she called Lucy out with the minions. I didn't buy the photo finish happy ending. Me thinks there's going to be some strained friendships there. It was fun series. It just had so much build up, this one felt a little flat.

Pairing - Lucifer, Barista, Trixie

We finally get the Barista’s book and the epic finale of a 10 book plotline turned out to be so weirdly boring ???

The book is ok at times but falls completely flat on trying to sell any tensions between Lucifer and the Barista. I dunno.

Book 9 was better and I’m kind of disappointed with where all this build up led to.

Overwhelming fine.

CW: explicit sexual content (including BDSM), blood, breeding, violence, references to past murder

It’s finally happening

Daddy Barista is holding a lot of anger and guilt for the way Lucifer has tried to destroy his friends. Once his lover and best friend they now are on the verge of killing one another. Starting a Great War.

Only little Trixie can’t allow that to happen. Not when her soul has bonded her to not just her Barista but to Lucifer himself.

She is stronger than anyone gives her credit for and she will do what it takes to give this mating a chance. Even if that means convincing two monsters that they’re worth the work.

Lucy doesn’t know where this little human will lead him but he will follow her none the less. After all this time hating the idea of Monster/human relationships…one tiny woman owns him completely. Well almost. Apart of him longs for the man who left him behind all those years ago. But for it to work he has ALOT of groveling to do.

What about his followers? What will they do when they find the mighty Lucifer on his knees for a human woman?

ARC REVIEW

5/5 ⭐  4.5/5 🌶

So I definitely left this for last minute bcs I didn't want the series to end and no, I didn't cry while reading. who told you that? lmao anyways 🧍🏻‍♀️

Clio never disappoints so I went into this knowing I'd love it (and I did). The creature cafe series is a series that's dear to my heart, highkey one of my favourite series that ALWAYS slaps even though I've rr them a million times.

I loved seeing the characters from the previous books, the scenes w them made me smile like a lunatic lmao.
Barista, Lucy and Trixie were so fucking good together. The smut was great but the soft scenes got to me, it had me in my feels fr. I mean who doesn't want someone (let alone 2) who'll love you for you and accept all your flaws, regardless of your past. It was really freaking beautiful and although it made me sad to end the series, it's favourite book from it.

And fucking finally, the Barista made his move, thought I'd die before he did smh

also, I think I have a coffee kink now, thanks clio 😭

Suggestion: read all the books in the series before this if you wanna be in your feelings for the rest of the week

Review : The barista book I loved it cause it wasn't just the barista and Trixie . This is the barista Trixie and Lucifer aka Lucy. Lucy and Trixie are Mates Fated the barista isn't happy cause of all the pain Lucy has caused but they all agree to try to make it work with all of them. Lucy and Trixie hook up and oh god all the spice in the book and the barista with his shadow wow . Lucy followers are aiming to kill Trixie but Lucy makes a choice he chooses the barista and Trixie the barista sends them to hell and a year later creature Cafe gets rebuilt and Trixie is pregnant such a cute series .

Quotes You’re such an idiot,” I whispered. “I’ve tolerated you because I’m in love with you. Even though you’re a fucking grumpy bastard who attracts trouble.”

“Good boy,” I said, “This is where you belong in my world, Lucy. On your fucking knees and begging me to let you stand.

Did I stop everything I was doing at work to read this book? Yes!
Did I take my kindle to the gym to finish reading this book? Yes!
Did I cry on the treadmill when the book was over? YES!

This was the last entailment of the creature cafe series and I couldn’t be more proud and sad at how beautiful the Barista, Lucy, and Trixie came together as one in the end. As you can tell this story is about the Barista and his ex Lucifer coming head to head to finish a war between the two that has caused so much damage over the year. Lucy doesn’t want monsters and humans to be together and he’s trying to do whatever he can to stop the Barista from match making them together. As Lucy gets ready to confront the Barista once and for all, there a huge but tiny wretch throw in his plans by the name of Trixie and she has the capability to bring them both to their knees.

It’s been days since I fished this series and I can’t believe that’s over! Like what am I supposed to do without the Barista and his family he created of monsters and humans and all their little off spring that keep popping up out of no where. All I can say is, this series is easily one of my favorites this year. From the angst the drama, the good times and the bad, all of Lucy’s craziness and the tention a between the Barista and Trixie will truly be missed. I’m so glad the three of them where able to find comfort peace and happiness within each other. I’ll will forever be a Barista Bae and I thank this series for starting me on my monster romance journey!

Be still my beating heart!

I am super emotional. I thought I was ready for this to end but now that it's here I feel so sad and lost. I feel like I just lost my best friends. Not to death, them hoes just moved a few counties over but are too busy to visit.

Anyways... this was a fantastic read and a great ending to this amazing series. As a whole this series has been so incredibly diverse, spicy, and exciting.

This final book was soooo incredibly spicy. I knew the Bartista was a dom but seeing it in action OMFG. And Trixie! My girl, anyone that can put the Grim Reaper & Satan on their knees is a bad bish.

I truly loved this book and the series. 5 stars because I had both a strong emotional and physical reaction to the words on the paper.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I've had this series on my TBR for a while and decided to give it a shot and I'm so glad that I did. Each novella in the series has a sweet steamy romance between a human and monster. The characters are intertwined and connected which I really enjoyed. I've really felt like I can connect with each couple so far. I've been devouring this series and I feel like the author did an amazing job creating unique captivating stories with engaging characters. Highly recommend for anyone who enjoys steamy monster romance.
