Kashmere “Kash” Price grew up with a silver spoon in his mouth. He never knew what it meant to not make ends meet. Although he has gotten everything he’s ever wanted in life, it hasn’t been without a decent amount of hard work. He started at the bottom of his family business, rising to the top along with his best friend Jayson at his side. Now, he’s ready to take over after his father announces his retirement and hopes to run for public office. Only thing stopping him from achieving this goal is his father’s insistence that he needs a family of his own to share it with. Initially Kashmere is against the idea until he lays eyes on Charlotte and vows to make her his by any means necessary. Lucky for him, someone close to Charlotte owes him money and to settle the debt, he accepts Charlotte as payment unbeknownst to her.
Charlotte “Charli” Morgan lived a hard life that made her independent and unfortunately caused her to accept love from people who didn't deserve to be in her life. After experiencing an unspeakable act during her childhood Charlotte ends up being raised by her grandparents. Now an adult, Charlotte has built a good life for herself. She has a successful career, friends who love her yet the love she’s craving the most is that of her boyfriend Desmond who's unwilling to reciprocate.
Now trapped in a situation that neither of them really want to be in, Charlotte and Kashmere continuously bump heads. Somewhere down the line things change and the feelings they both swore they’d never share with one another start to surface and fast. Caught in a rapture of sex, money and lies, will they eventually also find love?
I was enjoying this book with the many errors and all but it started getting real repetitive and the errors were everywhere. Kashmere and Charlotte weren’t likable to me. I felt like the author had a word count because describing every little thing was unnecessary to me. I was looking for something to excite me into reading the next part but I’m gonna pass.
Part 1 of this book had me thinking I wasn’t a fan like I thought I was of the kidnapping trope.
Kash was A LOT. Although he did save Charli and was prepared to give her a better life, he was just so HARSH!
I don’t even understand how Charli ended up with someone like Desmond. Broke boys don’t deserve our tears!
Every time I thought they was making progress, Charli would go do something sneaky lmaooooo and set the whole process back. But I get it, sis was tired of Kash and his ish!
I enjoyed part one! That cliffhanger had me gasping for air and running to download the next book!
Y’all this right here took me by surprise! When I tell you it’s nothing worse than a broke nigga trying to demand respect! Des needed his entire ass kicked
Charlie was a girl who never fully felt love, folks who were suppose to give her love freely abused and abandoned her! She was such a giver of love but receiving it was fleeting. Babygirl wanted true love so bad she ignored EVERY 🚩 🚩
Kash was a spoiled brat who couldn’t fathom not getting what he wanted! He’s possessive, controlling and in love that’s the recipe for an #Unhinged MMC. He had good intentions always he just struggled expressing himself which sent him down a path of destruction every time
Genesis is new to me and I’m excited to read more of her work! This series flowed well, was well written and had tons of twist and turns that kept me shaking my head. I low key thought a HEA was not possible here, but they found a way honey.
✨Inside Scoop: That damn Nina was one trifling heffa
Add it to your list you won’t be disappointed with this one…
✍🏾:Genesis Carter 🎶 Pairing: Caught up in the Rapture of Love
I want to like this story but, Charli makes my @$$ itch, she has got to be the stupidest, dumbest, most desperate for affection, low self esteem trick I have ever encountered in a story in a long time. She has her degrees, she has dreams but kept holding on to a guy like Des who didn't have a job, always cheated on her, treated her lower than dirt all the time but she bent over backwards for this idiot making herself look stupid, almost losing a piece of her livelihood by fighting over him in her place of business, then she just moved stupidly like she is the ditziest chick ever. Kash was disrespectfully annoying, entitled, overly arrogant for no reason, I'm sorry I don't see him as an alpha male or get BDE from him at all. I see him as a spoiled brat that wants Daddy's business, empire whatever, who does stupid things for no reason. He could have come up with a better plan and way to get Charli to agree to marry him, or hell, got somebody else to do it, hell since Des owed him money, he could have killed him quietly, had it come out that he had multiple girls pregnant and was financing them with her money. That should help her get over him faster with this new betrayal, then again this is slow stupid @$$ Charli, she'd make an excuse to still love him smdh. Still, the whole kidnapping holding against her will and now he put his hands on her?!?! I have no respect for either of them. I hate to read part 2 but I finish what I start. I really hope it gets better....
Lord who edit this book? I was so annoyed with trying to figure out what the words were. I’m not above reading books with a couple of errors but every sentence?? 20-30 a chapter come on?!! Publishing should take it down to edit and upload again maybe I can try to read it. It’s like the writer forgets what she wrote. Charli had a Nissan Rogue in one chapter two chapters later it was a Jeep. In Joselines voice I cannot. These five stars literally lying to y’all. At one point, the position of typing was on the left side, as long as “.”” Errors. The same storylines also. Dumb weak females & controlling drug dealing/ in the game “rich” men. Like please authors be original and give us something to read that holds our attention.
A debt is owed and someone has to pay it. This book has an Urban beauty and the beast vibe. Charli is the rose that grew from concrete just too trusting. Kash has all the makings of a great man but a man who can't hear no. This book had me wrapped up all day. It had a great pace and Kept me engaged the entire time.
Know this is nothing against the author but Charlie was to weak for me. She was taking more shit from niggas the little I couldn’t even respect her as woman behind how blindly loyal she was to the wrong men. I feel like this tell women it’s okay to deal with situations like this when someone shows you who they are believe them
Can barely get through the formatting & terrible editing. Seems like it has a good plot & I would try reading it again if it were re-edited. The “fi” in words kept forming a ! instead. Or the “ for double letters in words. Definitely needs to be edited again
This would've been a 4 🌟 read if it weren't for all the errors. I'm sick of typos in these books, like no one is editing them.
Kash and Charli...ugh...I have a love hate relationship with this book.
Charli is a dumb broad, through and through. In love with a f*%k boy, knew his a$$ was a f*%k boy and still didn't want to leave him. Knew he was cheating, caught him cheating, fought at her place of employment, and still wanted to be with him. Nothing I hate more than a dummy. The mf didn't even have anything to offer her and she was taking care of him. Like WTF?? Then, in comes Kash.
Kash is rude, an asshole, spoiled, arrogant, and doesn't take no for an answer. He puts Charli in an impossible position, thinking he really gave her a choice. He's controlling and really expects her to fall in love with him because he "saved" her from the f*%k boy ex she was with.
These characters really got under my skin. Which means the author did what was supposed to be done! I found myself not wanting to put this one down, just to figure out what happened next. On to part 2 to see how it plays out.
Kash and Charli! Kash was a lot a lot. He wasn’t lying when he said he was crazy. Poor Charli went from one toxic situation to the next. Kash felt that he upgraded her just because he was providing her with a life of luxury. It was life of a luxurious prison. I just knew that she developed Stockholm Syndrome! This story is toxic as hell but I couldn’t put it down! I was so invested that I didn’t leave a review and went and got book 2 and read it as well! Now I’m back to leave the review and it’s hard for me because I don’t want to give anything away. This book had me in such a chokehold that I had to immediately read the 2nd one. That’s the type of writing that I’m talking about - make me hooked, make me not put it down, make me lose sleep because I’m up reading it, make me get caught up in the rapture too! You should definitely read this book. Awesome read!
This book had my attention from beginning to end. Very well written, great storyline and character development. I love Charli, despite all she's been through she managed to come out on top with her education and career. But when it comes to men she needs to be a bit more selective. I hated how Desmond treated her and had no regard for her feelings after she was basically taking care of him. Then there's Kash, OMG im convinced he is bipolar or afraid to let his guard down to actually consider a real relationship. Charli and Kash's situation isn't ideal, they are like oil and water but deep down there are feelings involved that neither one wants to admit out loud. I am rooting for them but after that ending has Kash taken things to far with his controlling ways. This book definitely has it's intense moments but it's worth reading about these characters.
I’m confused by all the five stars! Did we all read the same book?! Kashmere is insufferable! He’s a man child that takes things by force. He says he would never force himself on Charli but repeatedly tells her she has no choice in the matter. Of course if she thinks she doesn’t have a choice she’d give in rather than make him force her which would be more traumatic. Don’t get me wrong Charli is a moron. There isn’t anything a man that KIDNAPPED me could do to make me fall in love with him! I just can’t do the kidnapping troupe. Not for me! But I’ve seen it done right before and this was NOT it. 🙄🙄🙄🙄
I loved it!!!! I don't know how I feel about Kash. Right now we got a love/hate relationship. He and Charli could be so good together if he'd just bring it down a notch or two. He claims to want her and he took drastic measures to get her only to treat her like a prisoner and he be cheating. For all that she could have stayed with Des no good azz. I was shocked at how Dolla reacted but he knows his son on some bull💩. I'm glad he was man enough to apologize. I hope Kash get himself together before he do something he's going to regret.💌💌
Kash is the bottom of the barrel type . He cares of no ne but himself. Charlii continues to tell him why she is triggered by what he did to her and he just doesn’t care and shows no remorse. He wants Loyalty but isn’t exhibiting the same behaviors. I need him to be humble and Charlii to boss up because this ain’t it. AT ALL. It was a struggle to decide on a rating for the book because of my disdain for this fictional character.
I'm ready for part 2 this book was so dang gone good I understand how Charli feel wanting her independence and all and they way Kash went about doing things but she needs to at least give him a chance dang he way better than that loser Des who constantly cheated on her and mooch off her if Kash wouldn't have did what he did I don't think she would have left Des can't wait for part 2
Now why he kidnapped Charli…Charli was dealt a bad had from her momma to that raggedy boyfriend trading her…I hate how she went through so much and after Kash found out what happened to her as a child he was still a buthole to her…Lowkey Stockholm syndrome…but still a good book…not going to lie Kash lowkey scared me how he just pops up and handles Charli like that…
Thee Rapture was so full of emotions. The storyline in itself was so good that I couldn’t put it down.. Kash definitely didn’t know the word NO and baby Charlotte wasn’t backing down. I loved how both of them put up a wall but slowly it was breaking down. I enjoyed the writing. So intense and fulfilling.. good read
These 2 I honestly don't like neither one of them. Hell I am just so stunned at how this shit has played out in this book. I'm going to go to the end of the next book. This is just to much for 2 people who can't get it right and neither are willing to stand down and just actively listen to understand what's needed from the other party to make it work.
I was looking for some toxicity and this did not disappoint. Kash was a lot to deal with. I felt bad for Charli because she went from one bad thing to another. Kash gave her the lifestyle she deserved, but at what cost? That cliff hanger had me on edge, and I couldn't wait to get to part 2.
I've enjoyed reading this book. I like the premise of the story, and I enjoyed the characters. Charlotte hasn't had an easy start in life. Kashmere, on the other hand, was the complete opposite. A chance meeting changes both a day at life. For the better, I guess that's up to you to decide. This book is definitely worth the read. Wonderful job, Genesis.
Welcome back Genesis!!! So first off Charli need to get a backbone and start letting Kash have it. I really don't like the way Kash is acting just tell her you love her already. Patiently waiting on book 2
I don’t even know what to say! These 2 drove me crazy! They so dang on stressful bruh! Like it didn’t occur to him to compromise a little more? I’ve got to know how this plays out! Outstanding
Rapture was really good. I enjoyed reading it and can’t wait for part 2. Kash was a mess and Charli so confused about what she wanted. Both of them need therapy. I think they could be a great couple if they can’t get it together individually and collectively.
This book was definitely a roller coaster an emotional one at that… I think that Kash and Charli would be good together if they just let go of the facts a acknowledge their true feeling for each other.
This was such a good read. Kash is something else. Charli is trying his gangster. These twocneed their lives overhauled. Kash needs to learn to be a real man. Can't wait for the next part.
I don’t know why I love Kash so much. Charli definitely gives him a run for his money. Poor thing. I can’t wait to see how this play out. When she fall she gone fall hard for Kash. I loved this story
Yooo…. What the what. I’m just going to say I have read many books and this one and this author just is blowing me away. First read for your catalog and I love it so far. On to part 2 omg so anxious to read it.
Charli and Kash… that’s enough said right there! This roller coaster ride is taking me through it! I can’t wait 😛 to read part two! Genesis you wrote the hell out of this book.
Charli... my Charli... what have we gotten ourselves into. Kash doesn't realize you attract more bees with honey! Charli's character has taken us on a journey of knowing and discovering and I hope to get that from Kash in part 2.
