Suspicious of her new suitor's motives, Lady Barbara Worth, who has developed a distrust of men, spurns the advances of the wealthy and handsome Captain Tarn Maitland, but her soul still longs for his touch. Original.
Not a bad premise, but almost all of the actual romance and getting-to-know-the-hero bits happened in the last 50 pages. By the end of the book, I still felt as though there should be another 50 pages to follow.
I really don't think this qualifies a romance when 3/4 of the way through the book, the hero/male love interest is tumbling into bed for a romp with his mistress instead of the heroine.
