It’s space alien madness round 2!!! The amalgam creature has been waiting for months, along with the stranded colonists, for a rescue mission to arrive.
The story starts off strong, as we creep through the ravaged halls of the colony space station with the potential rescuers. They don’t know there is an abomination on board, but we the readers do… I kept waiting for something terrible to happen/pop out. Then their mistake with the cord ughhh!
Humans continue to err on the side of greed and the mining corporation head honchos want the creature/creature’s ship at all costs. I was so frustrated when the Captain decided to ignore everyone’s warnings. Wondering what the death toll rises to in this second book in the Amalgam Series…I didn’t have to wait long to find out!
For the alien, the Queen Antares means the buffet is open and humans are on the menu. For the miners/colonists/crew, it’s just another fight for survival in deep space. The ending was a shock, knowing that the fate of the human race is now in the hands of a few people. A year to try and fight back…. Can’t wait to read Book #3 and find out what’s next!

I'm in love with a book. Mom, dad, meet Amalgam.
Hot damn this was a great read! I would pay big bucks, (or go with someone else willing to pay big bucks for me), to see a movie made from this story. It was fabulous. Great crew, great bad guys, great monsters, great setting, great god, I feel like I'm all hopped up on sugar. Space horror, as my favourite genre has been reaffirmed. Can't wait to read the 3rd book.

Mike Duke - Author has hit another homerun with AMALGAM : BOOK TWO: RETRIEVAL. Just finished the ebook and WOW what a ride.
After waiting for 6 months for a rescue to arrive, what's the worst that could happen? GREED and STUPIDITY!!!! Book 2 picks up nicely from where book 1 left off. Story continuity is spot on and the action is fast and extremely well written. Now give me book 3!!!!!!

Just when you thought Mike Duke couldn't push the story further, holy crap!
After the survivors escaped the alien infestation on the station, the rescue ship arrives, and another whole new dilemma comes into play!
Adding MORE story and MORE action and even MORE death and destruction, Duke helms this series in the second action packed installment!

Great continuation of the Amalgam story. Just as action packed as the first one and introduces some great new characters. Looking forward to what Mike Duke does next in this series.

I enjoyed the "partial" history behind the blob's existence & their ship hopping survival. Books 1 & 2 were fast reading, enjoyable, well written, BUT, WHERE IS BOOK 3 .
