When Honor Prevails: A Historical Western Adventure Novel
Spending his days working alongside his father and friends at a big ranch in the New Mexico heat, Jaime was a happy man. The waters of his quiet life are stirred though when a friend of his is let go by the ranch owner. This disruption will take a wild turn when a brutal killing occurs and shakes Jaime’s world to its very core. After Jaime's father is falsely accused of this killing, Jaime has no choice but to clear his name.

Jaime and Alison keeps your undivided attention as their antics are exhilarating to say the least!
As always, Mr. Levine's outstanding descriptive renditions of unending exciting adventures are always five star extravaganzas! This compassionately motivated, and definitely heartwarming, renditions of unending exciting adventures will pacify anyone's undivided attention cover to cover! No slow downs in this one!
Too, the compelling storylines are unsurpassed, and definitely heartwarming entertainment from beginning to end! The Author's uncanny ability to bring justice to those responsible is unsurpassed in his determination to bring justice to those responsible for their misdeeds! Too his superbly descriptive character selections are unsurpassed in their ongoing efforts to appease anyone's desired expectations!
Certainly recommend this compassionately and even more, heartwarming episodes of outstanding quality series of unending excitement to all but especially to you western folklore addicted fanatics! When Honor Prevails
This is the entire story that Mr Levine gave a generous preview of in his story collection "Crossing Dangerous Paths." This is the story of a boy becoming a man. He and his Father work for a rancher. He finds many twists and turns on his path to manhood. Facing death, the betrayal of a friend, the love of woman, loss of his job, death of the ranchers son, redemption, and even marriage to his sweetheart.
This story has many ups and downs in suspense as we ride along on the goings on in Southern New Mexico.
The characters seem all too real as the story unfolds. You'll enjoy reading how this story unfolds. If you enjoy the western genre you'll enjoy this book. I've read several of Derek's books and can say he can spin a yarn with the best of them.

A very well written book filled with an excel
lent cast of characters that are well introduced and developed. It's a clean story that has a lot of depth to it and we got to see the final development of Jamie becoming the man he is meant to be. How could one man bring so much sadness to one town.

Risk taking adventure in the red desert
For Jaime and his love interest delve into danger it leads to her brother,s nefarious crimes leading to murder of a friend when he gets mixed up in a wrestling job with a Mexican gang. It takes more than one trip down south to find brother Jacob and to find the missing cattle and the rest of the gang. Action packed.

good and bad people
Alison had a lot of problems with her brother Jacob drinking and not working. She had done some sewing at a shop that she met a nice young man named Jamie. Together they helped solve cattle rustling and a murder. They went through some crazy things to do so. Good story

Not his best
I have read almost all of Derek's novels. In general they rate 4 to 5, but this was excessively wordy and in places made no sense. Horses in towns at that time were hitched to a rail before, behind or alongside the business not 'penned.' The only 'penning' done was at the town stable.

Another spell-binding novel
DL has provided another gripping western movie-like saga. A restless young man in trouble. A friend who wants to save him...almost. Horses and cattle rustling involved always makes for thrilling experience.

Tough and Sweet
This was truly a thriller. I could not put it down. One minute true love. The next gonna blow off someone’s head. Loved it. Thank you for this wonderful story.
