As Andrea, Lyra, and Remo settle into their new roles within the palace of Saffiro, they find their personal lives grow increasingly unsettled.
Andrea and Nella’s relationship is as tenuous as the peace he is striving to attain between the seven kingdoms of Terramundi.
Lyra mourns a love that never was and never could be while deepening her Awareness practice.
Remo struggles to overcome his feelings for Sabelle when he learns of her engagement to his enemy. He and Lyra find solace in one another as they heal similar heartaches while on a quest to improve conditions in Satria.
Meanwhile, a visitor brings Andrea strange reports from the Forest of Numa that raise concerns over Mavortis’ intentions. A centuries old prophecy intensifies the looming threat from Mars’ kingdom.
Relationships change as the distant past once again haunts the trio’s present -- and they must play the hands that fate dealt them.
Thank you to Dani for providing me to ARC for the second book. This is beautifully written and I love how it continues the story and brings it to a beautiful ending!
I highly recommend this book! I cannot wait to read any related novellas or offshoots that are in this world. There is love, political intrigue, some sad moments, and a lot more. The story went different places I had not anticipated and I was so excited to see where things would go!
Go read the mundane and the arcane then come back and read this!
I'm a lucky receiver of an arc and I AM BLESSED. This book begins with us seeing our friends in their now vastly different lifes. We experience heartbreak and pain as well as hope, love and joy. Remo, Lyra and Andrea have so much to do with securing the empire and helping Satria when a phrophecy is discovered that could end it all. Nella learns to accept herself and has her own little 'adventure' that ties back to her friends.
We see so many good things in this book and the relationships that emerge are the best. Danielle again does her magic wielding her words - her writing as good as Remo's ability with astrology. The ending of the book is again magical and I am happy that this is not the last we've seen from Terramundi. Strongly recommend!!
Would that I could read this again for the first time. The Mundane and the Arcane is amazing, but The Sacred and Profane absolutely blew me away. The emotion in this book is palpable and the character growth is *chef’s kiss*. We watch all of our beloved characters from book one grow, grieve, and give themselves completely to a cause in which they believe. It is relatable, heartbreaking, bittersweet, hilarious, and so incredibly heartwarming.
Dani has created an enchanting story filled with incredible characters, beautiful lands, complex politics, and mystery to boot. Even though Remo’s story is concluded, I cannot wait to revisit Terramundi in future books!
