Two Little Miracles by Caroline Anderson is a typical Harlequin Romance. The husband is overbearing and all he wants to do is work (granted in Caroline Anderson's book Max does work with his wife, Julia (she's his PA) but still all he does is work). We are kind of thrown into the story when Julia is insisting that Max stop being the work-a-holic he apparently is and start being a husband. She wants to relax more and not worry about which port of call they will be jetting away to so that this or that business deal won't fall through.
Then the books skips ahead ... a most a year. Julia has moved out to the country while Max stayed in London (England). ANNNNDDDD ... she's had twins ... Max's babies. Max hires a PI to find Julia (he's convinced she is dead and is griefstricken over it) and the PI hands him a picture of Ava and Libby with Julia (the girls look JUST like him at that age so he knows they are his).
He attempts to reconcile with Julia but she knows he'll just be back to his old ways ... blah-ditty-blah-da-blah. It's the same story over and over again ... misunderstandings here ... she says the wrong thing and regrets it ... they make up ... they have sex ... he does something wrong. She kicks him out.
Ultimately there is a happy ending but I think I am getting sick of reading this story line over and over again!

I really love reunions and this was a doozy. The book starts with them splitting up and next thing it's a year later and Max has finally tracked Julia down. Her vanishing trick was so complete he'd even suspected she might be dead and was grieving.
So when she turns up living in another man's house (token gay guy just so we are absolutely sure) with twins that bear a remarkable resemblance to him, he is not a happy Daddy.
He bonds almost immediately with Ava and Libby but Julia is suspicious and doesn't believe he would make the transition and puts him on two weeks notice.
I have to say here that the reason given for why he'd never wanted children before sort of came a bit out of left field. There wasn't much foreshadowing and that made it seem like it was just thrown in for some interior conflict.
That said I really did enjoy the book and found Max in particular very endearing once he let himself go.

This was a very cute and emotional read.
Cute because the twin babies were super adorable. The Hero daddy fell in love at first sight!
This is a second chance, marriage in trouble story. The heroine left the Hero because he was too much of a workaholic and refused to slow down even for her. Soon after she left him, she finds out she is pregnant. She decides to keep if from him, because throughout their marriage, he has always insisted that he didnt want kids.
Its been more than a year since and the Hero finally finds them. He has had an investigator looking for her. He is actually quite distressed, since he thinks she may have died as she never contacted him, her phone is dead and she never accessed her bank accounts. The minute he finds out where she is, he dashes off to confront her.
Its very emotional, because its quite clear that the couple still love each other. The heroine just does not want the hectic life she had with the hero, especially now they have kids. The rest of the story is how they try to compromise and build a different life to include more family time.
Very cute story with emotional and some amusing highlights.

👶 J'ai beaucoup aimé ce roman.
👶 C'était une très belle histoire de famille.
👶 Max et Julia ont compris au fil des pages qu'ils avaient tous les deux fait des erreurs. Ils ont petit à petit compris qu'ils avaient des responsabilités. Ils ont compris qu'ils s'aimaient et qu'ils devaient se reconstruire avec leurs enfants.
👶 Une très belle histoire avec des sujets importants tel que l'amour, la famille, les enfants et le travail.
👶 L'épilogue à la fin était une très bonne idée, j'ai apprécié que l'histoire ne s'arrête pas comme ça d'un coup, mais qu'au contraire il y est un dénouement.

He also left for Tokyo and another company to buy. Now he has found out that she gave birth to his twin daughters. They time together will either reunite or divide them forever. The need for open communication is the major problem. They don't communicate. Will either be willing to work together?

This one dissappointed me. The characters really needed to learn to communicate and when they get back together their communication doesn't get much better. Having twin babies is not going to improve your communication skills. Newborns take up so much time you barely have time for anything else.

It's a classic love story. I wasn't a fan of the characters both selfish and immature. I didn't like the happily ever after. I was expecting a little twist, but it never happens. I would prefer reading a more realistic love story plot.

Awalnya mengejar karir & ambisi adalah tantangan yg selalu memicu adrenalin seseorang. Tapi apakah tantangan mengakuisisi berbagai perusahaan multinasional adalah tujuan satu-satunya yang patut dicapai ? Kapankah cukup itu ?
Bagi Julia Gallagher, apa yang sudah diraih adalah cukup...kini saatnya membangun kehidupan berkeluarga seutuhnya dan kehidupan sosial...tapi tidak demilkian bagi sang suami, Max Gallagher yg workaholic.
Itulah yg dihadapi pasangan suami istri yang mulai beda visi...dan pertengkaran pun tak terelakkan.

Namun demikian hal itu tidaklah semudah yang Max harapkan. Julia tidak ingin kembali ke kehidupan kota London dengan segala ketidakteraturan jam kerja Max. Julia membuat kesepakatan dengan Max, bila dalam 2 minggu Max dapat focus dalam kehidupan domestic, membantu mengurus si kembar, tidak ada kontak telpon, internet dan hal-hal lainnya yang berhubungan dengan bisnis, maka Julia akan mempertimbangkan tawaran Max.
Meskipun kehidupan barunya disibukkan dengan segala tingkah si kembar, Max yang workaholic merasa terperangkap hidup dalam rumah tanpa mengurus bisnis dan tanpa sarana komunikasi.
Jadi bisa diduga, banyak hal dari kesepakatan itu yang dilanggar Max. Dan ada hal lain yang membuat Julia heran, adalah Max yang pucat dan takut saat menonton dvd proses kelahiran si kembar ? Jadi apakah masih bisa perkawinan itu dipertahankan ? Apakah Julia terlalu menuntut mengharapkan Max berubah ? Bukankah kehidupan berkeluarga itu harusnya take & give ?
Secara keseluruhan novel ini membawa pesan, bahwa untuk mempertahankan pernikahan itu diperlukan kebesaran jiwa dalam menerima kelebihan dan kekurangan pasangan, fondasi kepercayaan perlu dibangun dengan kokoh. Karir dan ambisi bukanlah segalanya, jika keluarga yang amat dicintai tercerai-berai. Dalam hidup berkeluarga harus dapat menentukan skala prioritas.
Saya tertarik dengan novel HQ ini karena sampul depannya dua bayi kembar lucu, menggemaskan, dan ada kesan ‘jahil’ …dan ternyata isi novelnya tidak meleset dari dugaan saya tentang si kembar.

Typical harlequin, which I was expecting but I absolutely hate the "I'm not telling him I'm pregnant because he doesn't deserve to know" garbage. He didn't stop to listen and change business plans, which as his assistant she knew all about, so the marriage is over. The next day she finds out she's pregnant but because he left he wasn't told. She changed her phone number, address etc but blamed him for not calling her. AND he accepted that it was HIS fault she didn't tell him about the pregnancy or birth of his twin daughters with possible vague plans to maybe let him know some day.
Once he found her, she immediately made him prove his commitment by dropping his entire life to stay with her and the girls for two weeks, no phone, computer etc. Did I mention he owns a multinational company.
Of course being a harlequin romance, he sells off two thirds of his company, buys her the "perfect country house she been house sitting in for the last year" moves his business, bends over backwards happily to have his family because his love is so deep and true. If she hadn't been so selfish and made some compromises too, this might have been 3.75 stars .

- Kisah favorit nih, pasangan suami istri yg terpisah kemudian balikan lagi.
- Lumayan suka sama nama Max, kesannya ganteng banget gitu. Hampir sama kek nama Jack.
Tapiiiii...kok boring ya baca ni buku? Perasaan isinya melulu Max yg belajar cara merawat bayi kembarnya and curi-curi kesempatan untuk nelpon kantornya. Alhasil d-skip skip deh ni buku.
Btw, kembali ke selera masing-masing pembaca ya.

Menceritakan tentang Max, suami workaholic dan sang istri, Julie yang sudah lelah mengikuti kegilaan suaminya dalam mengurus bisnisnya. Dengan cover imutnya dan alur cerita realistisnya membuat Harlequin ini menjadi enjoyable... mengingatkan kita bahwa kebahagiaan tidak dihitung dari kekayaan, bahwa pernikahan itu saling menerima kekurangan dan kelebihan :)

Simply sweet story. A very classic, they were married and then she left him because they never stopped and smell the roses... (literally).
Then she discovered about her pregnancy, he didn't know and when he found her again he was already a dad.

the book was not dat bad but it had nothing really going 4 it. it was painfully boring as if nothing really actually happening. n iwas annoyed wid the heroine. i felt she acted like a spoilt child wanting desperately n selfishly 2 change the hero drastically

yah mungkin ringan, tapi aku suka.. lucu bayangin anak kembar yang mungil itu. tapi saking ringannya aku cuma butuh waktu beberapa jam sampai halaman terakhir! so far, I love this!
