Ants best quality is understanding everyone has something to bring to the table, and seeing qualities in others is as important as finding them in yourself. Started off a bit rough but is a very to the point reminder to keep picking yourself up.

I enjoy self help books. If I take away something positive from the book it’s a bonus. Wasn’t sure about This book at the start but I continued with it and glad I did.

Absolute drivel.

I'm convinced all the positive reviews are bots. As per usual when an author is a "multi million selling no1 author". The content is aimed at your Steve and Barry in the local pub.

It's full of empty platitudes on how to prioritise yourself -- which of course has been said better by a great many authors.

Then it bounces between a pity party of "Oh no I'm not good enough to fulfil a role in the army" to "I'll show them, I shall have my revenge" ... Bleh.

The book offers the impression this is a self-help book rather than a whinging platform for the author.

Avoid this nonsense and if you actually enjoyed it. Do better.

I like the layout of these books. Ant Middleton has done it again & uses his experiences of war, home life & his adventures since the last book by giving an example then breaking it down, at the end of the chapter there's quick lessons where you can open the page up when you need a blast of positivity & how to overcome what's holding you back, especially if it's yourself.

Not every chapter will be for you right now, but down the line you might go, ooh I'm overthinking that situation, let's see what the lessons were & have a reread. Just the lessons page gives me a boost when staff aren't playing the game, sometimes I just need a different approach.

I used First Man In to help me make decisions at work & at home. I've recently been asked to step up into managerial role & went back to his Mutiny chapter which was very helpful.

In The Wall, I found chapter 8 spoke to me. I love my job, stepping up means I have to have higher standards & that's a good thing. I'm enjoying pushing myself every shift.

There was also a great line that "... You know enough to know you don't know enough." I'm always looking out for ways to grow & having this book helped me focus on what I need to do to move forward.

Thanks Ant. Always a pleasure to be pushed that bit further.

Listened via audio, which was performed very well by Mr Middleton.

The Wall is the latest edition to the Ant Middleton self help books, written with a view to making us the best of ourselves.
As I’ve mentioned, it’s basically a self help book focusing this time on smashing the self doubt we all, at some point, have experienced.

I rate this quite highly, because as someone who suffers with confidence etc, these have truly helped me.
Having read the other versions before, I had to visit this one. And again, it has helped.

I think Middleton has done a great job and I will gladly pass my thoughts on to whoever asks.
That being said, I have rated it a four simply because at times, it felt like a re-hash of the prior outings.

However, that does not take away from the brilliance and good intentions presented throughout.
Four out of five.

The Wall by Ant Middleton is all about the mental wall we all come across which stops us from reaching our potential. Middleton tells stories from his life of when he met the wall and provides many different tips to try and break down the wall to allow one to live one's life to the fullest and reach one's potential. This book covers various topics such as the people you surround yourself with, not focussing on yourself, the plans you make, overthinking, self-belief and coping with loss to name just a few.

I'm a huge fan of Ant Middleton's no-nonsense style approach to self-improvement and so I got exactly what I was expecting out of his latest, 'The Wall'.

It's an informative, fun, fast read that packs a lot of good, sound into into its 300 and some change pages. If you're a fan I highly recommend. If you're not, probably nothing I'm going to say will change your mind.

I find myself revisiting his books whenever I'm in need of a pick-me-up and 'The Wall' will be the same. Looking forward to the next one.

Great book. Insightful and inspirational. The lay out is nice. Each chapte4 refers to something that is holding you back. Not ever chapter will be relevant to every reader but it will hit home with the majority of readers.
Ant is a no BS straight talking kind of guy. Reading the book feels like sitting down and having a personal conversation with him. The anecdotes scattered throughout the book vary between his own life and the lives of people who meets on book talks. Non of them are egotistical or blow smoke. Highly recommend

Still enjoyed the book, however after reading the previous Ant Middleton books I feel this is a bit of the same. Still an excellent read if you’re looking for motivation or tips and tricks to help spin your life around, especially if you haven’t read any of the others

I listened to the audio book with Ant himself reading it. He is a great narrator giving the same emphasis to his points as he does on SAS Australia. He gives some very practical and easy to use strategies to break “the Wall”. I would listen to this again!

Not much wrong with this. The author tells it how it is, and how it should be if you're not quite there yet. One for the ages.
