It's summer on Nantucket -- and Alana Copperfield is in for the shock of a lifetime.
Twenty-seven years ago, Alana Copperfield was the beauty queen of Nantucket High and girlfriend of Jeremy Farley, the handsome and successful football quarterback.
Back then, Jeremy's football scholarship to Notre Dame pushed him to break things off with the aimless Alana. Their breakup created a chain of events that ultimately led to a terrible car accident, one that left Jeremy unable to walk for nearly two years. Needless to say, his dreams were dashed forever.
Meanwhile, a handsome and mysterious artist at The Copperfield House painted a portrait of Alana that shot both him and Alana into stardom. He became a world-renowned painter, while Alana became a famous model and part-time actress in her own right. Their love and success seemed boundless.
Everything was perfect -- for a little while.
Until now.
As Alana's career peters out, her husband Asher's grows exponentially -- leaving Alana to question her talents and whether her husband ever appreciated anything more than her beautiful face.
When he decides to sell the portrait of her that made him famous in the first place, Alana is not only hurt -- she's angry.
Learning about his lost list of infidelities doesn't help anything, either.
Alana returns to The Copperfield House to ask herself serious questions about how she wants the rest of her life to play out. Does she really want to follow Asher around the world? Or does she want to build something of her own?
At forty-five years old, perhaps things are only just beginning for Alana...
On top of it all, Julia and Ella are hot on the case of discovering the truth behind their father, Bernard's "crimes" and whether they can clear his name of any wrongdoing. He spent twenty-five years in prison -- and they're starting to believe it was all for nothing.
It will be one heart wrenching and tumultuous summer on Nantucket Island, but the Copperfield sisters will welcome it with open arms.

Really enjoying this series! Second daughter, Alana, returns to her childhood home to start anew. She immediately makes a huge impact on the life of a teenage girl, who unbeknownst to Alana, is the daughter of her high school sweetheart. We see renewed life in the Copperfield parents, Bernard and Greta, with eldest daughter Julia moving with her life back at the Copperfield House. Looking forward to the next installment! 8 out of 10.
This is the 2nd installment of the Copperfield family's saga - the first book was all about Julia while this book focuses on Alana. Alana returns to Nantucket swirling wtih a bit of drama b/c of her relationship and it's ending. She has to figure out how to fit back into the "real world" and she feels a bit like she has no plan. A young teenage girl who reminds her so much of herself at that age comes into the picture - and little by little they heal each other. Enter an ex-boyfriend who is still on the island and a little romance made the story all that much enjoyable. Love this series and can't wait to find out more about the youngest Copperfield.
The Copperfield family's saga continues. This second installment focuses on Alana Copperfield's past and her return to Nantucket. This storyline is so original and full of the unexpected. It was wonderful to see how several of the characters began to feel some hope in their lives. The introduction of teenagers in the story was a real catalyst in plot development. I sincerely loved this book, one of my favorites by Katie Winters.
Life continues for the Copperfield family. Alana and Julia are both home and determined to learn the story behind the accusations against their father. Meanwhile mom Greta, and dad Bernard seem to be mending fences.
Alana returns home amid some Marital issues and scandal. She meets a young teenage girl with ties to her past. Lots of twists and turns as the characters struggle to move forward in their life.
Thank you to the author for this ARC. This review is my honest opinion.
Alana's gripping narrative unfolds swiftly, leaving me craving more. Her journey of self-discovery culminates in a poignant homecoming, reuniting with a relationship long forgotten. Alongside her sister, she delves into a complex investigation, seeking to unravel the truth behind their father's alleged financial misconduct. The story's brevity only intensifies my anticipation for the next installment, promising deeper insights and unresolved mysteries.
Alana and Julie had come home to heal from the wombs of life. Nantucket was the place that was going to help them they hoped. Old boyfriends, children, Forth of July and of course their Father, Bernard, and proving his innocence from stealing from his neighbors and friends. Would their Mother and Father regain their live and dignity! Wonderful book.
I enjoyed reading this book 2 in the series. It is about Alanna, although the other Copper fields are part of the story. Alanna and Julia are trying to clear Bernard's name by finding out what really happened 25 years ago. I enjoyed the book but was left hanging. That means reading book 3.
Great story of the Copperfield family. Alana struggles with her future and her and Julia continue to search for the truth. Past love surfaces and new friends are found. Can’t wait for more in this wonderfully written story. I received this arc for an honest opinion.
Oh the depth one would dive in as the pages of Nantucket Dreams unfold yesterday and today of the Copperfield sisters and their parents. Adding to the suspense and depth would be the friends from back in time.
A great story with strong and amazing characters who depend on love, their own strength, and their own forgiveness! Live reading Katie Winter’s series and returning to her characters who become my friends!
This is a story of Alana her struggles of the end of of her marriage. She helps Sarah overcome her eating disability and Jul II a Alana sister are trying to find a way to clear theirs fathers name . read the story to see how things turn our
Have very much enjoyed the first two books of this series. Kate Winters has done a wonderful job of telling a story rich with complex history ,circumstances and family. Looking forward to reading book three.
Although this is fairly well written with a good storyline, I won’t be reading anymore in this series because when I’m reading I want to forget about the outside world and its issues. The author has a woke agenda regarding feminism and I won’t spend any time reading their garbage.
This is the second in a series about four sisters. It was fun to read and kept you guessing as to where the story would go next. It also includes a story about teenage angst that's just as appealing. Good for teens and adults as well.
Still loving this story and the characters as well. I live in Massachusetts and love that it is set on Nantucket. I am looking forward to the next book.
This was Book 2 of the series and it sure makes me want to read more. The characters are becoming like friends to me. I have Book 3 on hold with Libby already!
