Amazing book and exceeded my expectations

I bought this book in the pre-order period, and I was having no interest at all in TikTok ads! Just bought it because of authors’ reputation in the marketing world: Perry and Dennis in one book! Also, I have to confess I was hating TikTok 100%.

This book has changed my mind, I read the first 25 pages so far and it’s full of unusual wisdom, it’s not only changed my view on TikTok ads but also new perspectives to look at marketing channels and strategy.

In the beginning of the book, the recommended “The Make $1 Model” and that is an honest advice that helps you take off the ground unlike other shiny benchmarks that exist everywhere that put heavy pressures on your shoulders.

I thought I will delay reading this book for years, till having some interest in TikTok! But after skimming it and reading some pages, now moved to my top reading list. And I urge you to read this book even if you insist to never do something on TikTok, because the book has strategic wisdom that’s crucial for marketers and entrepreneurs in this decade.

Thanks Perry and Dennis for writing such amazing book.

Great read. Insightful and concise.

The book follows a similar process to the other Ultimate Guides but was shorter and more concise. Still lots of insights into Tiktok and media buying in general.

Omg! This is good

I mean it's very good..... Miss this book at your own peril. I made $50,000 on Tiktok already and it's still a good book.

A solid overview of TikTok marketing and branding, except they assume that

(a.) you'll be creating the videos yourselves

and

(b.) you come from a marketing background, able to parse all their marketing abbreviations and jargon, like CPF, RCS, PE, CPL, CPA, and the like.

I'm not so sure that's the best approach. While I learned a lot about what kinds of content do well on TikTok, with tips & tricks from this book, ultimately what will matter most is how the real world responds to the videos.

Today's watchers recoil immediately if they sense paid advertising in a video, so subtlety becomes an important art when creating or commissioning videos. The book should have talked more about influencer marketing, using TikTok fresh to find legions of influencers, determine the best, and working together or negotiating a deal for them to make the videos. In that sense, you don't want to create the ad yourself unless you can sense and replicate what people want.

The other bothersome side of this writing is how it swings between extreme high-level mental modeling (overusing certain acronyms like CPF/RCS/CPE, and CPL/CPA. Define these term,s crystal-= clearly before using them so liberally in formulae. The 80/20 Richard Koch background is most extraneous, as it is unactionable if the the people you are trying to reach aren't local, oe don't respond to cold invites.

I learned some terminology and TikTok dashboard specifics, but I wouldn't recommend this book for using TikTok to grow fast like GymLaunch or Wrtite of Passage.
