In the hilarious and epic sequel to the full-color fantasy graphic novel Fantastic Tales of Nothing, Nathan and his unlikely team of magical beings return with another adventure to save their home from an evil spirit--perfect for fans of Amulet and Estranged.
Welcome back to Nothing! After the battle with Stryx, Nathan is lost and alone (again). But this time, he has friends to find and a quest to continue! At least no one is chasing him . . . well, except for that ancient evil spirit trying to destroy Nothing. Oh, and the war started (great!).
Once reunited, Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou must continue their journey to the Edge. Nathan has visions of Lerina that intensify as they travel, and the group discovers the clues to save Nothing may reside in the lost legends of the past. Unexpected allies appear but new enemies lurk everywhere, and the most powerful foe is attacking Haven's spirit from within.
If Nathan and his band of friends weren't already feeling the pressure, they must prevent two realms from tearing Nothing apart, defeat Stryx, and not die in the process (no biggie). Otherwise, volken, faes, and all magic could vanish from Nothing . . . forever.
Nathan finds himself lost and separated from his friends at the worst time: a war is brewing and Stryx is gaining power faster than anyone could have imagined. Now Nathan and his friends have to find each other so they can figure out how to defeat Stryx, each other, and Nothing.
I loved the first book and was excited to see how the story continues only to find that the story itself could’ve used some polishing. The pacing was slow and the story seemed to flounder for quite a while and made me lose interest a few times. I don’t think it’s a bad book by any means, but I do think it needed more work to really tighten the story because it lacked direction and really dragged for quite a bit.
That said, it was cute for what it was and I enjoyed seeing all the characters again. When the story finally found its direction and started moving along, it was really good from that point on. I was happy to finally feel excited about the story at that point. The artwork is also absolutely stunning and carried the book while the plots tried to get themselves in order.
All in all, I wish the book had more direction and used more of its time to tell the story rather than going around in circles when so much of the story was already established. I did enjoy it, but I can’t picture myself rereading this installment while I would reread the series opener.
The art in this is SO cute. The colors immaculate. Backgrounds so cool.
I love the scope of the story and this was a perfect sequel for the duology. I really loved the characters coming into themselves in this one. It's The Power of Friendship part II but this time they have so much more to draw on. There were so many little fun moments! My favorite moments were probably those between Trevor and Bardou (the wolf). They are so different and I loved seeing them be friends. I also really loved everything with Sina (the crow). I love her bubbly personality, compassion, and total BA magic.
Haven is also so cute. How did they learn Common so fast though? Amazing. I loved that the evening was just them "getting the joke". So precious.
Also the villain and "not-deity" in this story are SO cool. Character design 10/10! The action climax? Epic.
So basically, the stunning color palettes and exceptional character work is the stand out of this series. I recommend it!!
This was such a great follow-up to the first volume! I loved how much we learned about Nothing's history as we journeyed with our heroes. As their quest to save Nothing continues, Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou are trying to defeat the evil Stryx and hopefully in the end, make a better kingdom. We meet a wide cast of characters in this volume and we get to catch up with some from the first volume. I honestly, really enjoyed this second volume and loved the conclusion to the story. I would love if there was another book published in this world!
I received a copy from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. It's time to finish their adventures and current quest in the kingdom of Nothing. For Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou, it's all about learning from Nothing's past mistakes and being ready to make a better kingdom. War has begun between different groups; new enemies are revealed, and keeping magic alive is a huge burden for all of them. Making their way to The Edge and trying to defeat Stryx is a lot, but can all four of them finally conquer evil and allow peace? Another colorful graphic novel from writer and illustrator Green and Rodriguez comes to a highly fast-paced adventure of mystical creatures and doomed kingdoms. Chaos takes to the capital's street, and I enjoyed every fight scene and heartwarming moments between all four characters. Is it me, or does Bardou like Haven? I was happy to read this advanced copy from Netgalley and finally know what goes on in this sequel. The art design and character development keep improving, and perhaps a story about "Something" down the road?
The second installation of Lost Legends of Nothing graphic novel. This is a chunky second part of the duology that is lots of fun and wraps up at the end ( with an unexpected ending). The books are brightly illustrated and the world is magical and interesting with bits of political kerfuffle happening but the main story centers around some everyday type people.
There are some great close calls to add tension to the story's pacing. The characters are all pretty different from each other and real-feeling. My favorite is obviously the fourth-wall breaking prince-though all the characters are amazing in their own ways like Nathan and his terrible jokes/puns, or the fact that he's totally a bard.
Such a fun romp. I would love to see more tales of the land of Nothing, or a continuation of this group's exploration beyond the sea.

I read the first of this graphic novel series and loved it so I was excited when I received a review copy of the second one! It was still a great book but it seemed to carry on longer than needed. Artwork is impeccable. The characters still had room to grow but I feel that we didn’t need in-depth journeys into all the characters in this book. It did line up a third in the series so I will be excited!
The world of Nothing is so such an immersive one that I enjoyed even more this time around. I love how much more information we got about the world's past, and I cannot wait to see what else we learn if the authors return to it again. Found family stories are always my favorite, and Nathan, Haven, Sina, and Bardou are such a great group. I love their dynamic, and I hope we get more of them soon.
The art style was stunning, just like the last volume, especially the bright coloring. It's beautiful to look at, along with a fantastic storyline. I highly recommend picking up this volume along with the first if you have not. They are great reads with interesting world-building, fleshed-out characters, and unique mythology. Overall, it's a fun read that I believe fantasy lovers will enjoy. I preordered my copy as soon as I heard about it, and I love that I was given the opportunity to read it early.
*Thank you to Netgalley for my ARC of this book. All opinions are my own.*
I love that this is a fantasy world that we are immersed in and not a portal fantasy. This series has a detailed map that gives a great fantasy vibe. Like the first one, it has a large cast of characters. These are different points of view (that end up teaming up) but the plot is quite fast and sometimes I wonder if I miss any pages of these short chapters and feel I don't keep track of all the information. Lots of action, and magic, and dealing with the war between two different groups, plot twists, and awesome characters. The art is good, not very detailed backgrounds but great to build their world. My favorite character is Haven. And I love the mythical/ mystical part of the story with the volken.
We continue on our quest in this second book with our colorful, highly entertaining characters. Full of magic, humor, adventure, danger, and more. A real quest of an adventure story full of high stakes. Some BEAUTIFUL artwork again by Alejandra Green & Fanny Rodriguez as well.💜
First book of the year! And we’re off to a great start with this second installment of the epic adventure comic Fantastic Tales of Nothing. Nothing is a land where magical creatures and humans coexist—some seek peace and balance among species and spirits, while others, driven by ambition and the enemy’s malice, won’t rest until they crush their opponents, no matter the cost to innocent lives.
This comic blends lovable and fun characters with war, adventure, and humor. The illustrations are gorgeous—I absolutely love the style and the vibrant colors on every page. Plus, it’s super funny! The dialogues are witty and hilarious in the simplest way, haha.
I recommend it to anyone who enjoys, for example… Disney, youthful adventures, heartwarming stories, and dad humor.

I can’t believe it took me so long to read these books! I honestly haven’t really seen them much on social media, which is a complete and utter shame. So if you combined a game of Dungeons and Dragons with Guardians of Ga’hoole and the Warriors books (I know those are cats and this has Wolves and Foxes, but you get the picture!😂), then you get The Fantastic Tales of Nothing.
In The Lost Legends of Nothing, Nathan, Haven, Sina and Bardou are traveling to find the spirit of Lerina and stop the villainous Volken, Stryx. If you haven’t read the first book, atleast, that would all sound like gibberish, but believe me… EPIC! 🤯😱🤯
A lot happens in a finite amount of pages, so I can’t go into exactly what you should expect, but think Invasion of the Body Snatchers meets She-Ra & the Princess of Power, but with a bard, a warrior, a fae, and a wizard… and 2 of them shapeshift into animals. Also, another animal shifter (aka Volken) and the Prince, Nokia (He is a cutie and not a cell phone!) are kind of in love, but she’s his bodyguard. I knoooooooow! It’s completely 😵💫, but you will love it!
Another fun adventure into the world of Nothing. This one starts out the same as the first. Nathan wakes up in a strange place. But this time, he's on a mission. He must reunite with his friends, find the truth about Lerina, and stop Stryx. With Nothing at war and people turning on one another, this volume is a high-stakes adventure where the characters risk it all to save their home.
I actually liked this one a little more than the first. While the first did a great job setting the stage and laying out the world, this one really picks up the pace and delivers on the action. We get to learn more about Nothing's history and find answers to questions left open in book one.
As with the first book, the illustrations are wonderful. Loved the use of color and expression.
Same great blend of humor, adventure, suspense, and emotion as the first book with plenty of puns and wordplay. A great continuation of the series with a chance for more to follow.
I enjoyed this one more than the first one! I think there was so much info dumping in the first one it left me confused and overwhelmed, but this one just followed through with the plot. I was still kind of confused as to I couldn’t remember Lerina’s past 100%, but it didn’t stop me from enjoying. I think the best thing about this series is the character design, it’s so good. All the characters are so precious and go through a lot of growth. I ship Bardou and Haven so bad 🥺🫶🏻 I would definitely keep reading if they plan to make more! Also, why did Bardou randomly shave his beard halfway through the volume and it was never mentioned? The world may never know…
Thank you HarperCollins Children’s Books and NetGalley for the advanced electronic review copy of this wonderful book. Great, fast moving plot, lots of action, magic, interesting world building and a great cast of characters make for a very enjoyable read. Close to halfway I realized that this is the second book in the series, but it did not detract from my understanding of the plot or the overall enjoyment of the story. I definitely recommend this book and would not go read the first one.

I so wish these creators had been able to make this series a trilogy! Two books really wasn't enough for the story they were telling. I still very much enjoyed this sequel, but the first third or so moves at such a breakneck pace to usher us along into the next plot point that it did create some friction in the reading experience. Still, the art is gorgeous, the story is heartfelt, and the conclusion was really sweet.
I need more of this like, yesterday. I know this is the end (for now), but I just love these characters and concept so much! The world of Nothing is filled with such interesting worldbuilding that it seems like such a fun box to play in, and the vibrancy of the art makes for such a great story. This throws directly after the first, no stopping for anything, and the rollercoaster keeps this firmly in my top five graphic novels of all time.
Hilarious and wonderful. Another 4.5 star read for me because even though I really wanted to give it 5 stars, it didn’t really blow me away and make me want to keep reading. The story was once again, a little chaotic, with multiple different kinds of characters that weren’t always important to the plot. But I loved the fun meta bits and I do feel like this was a bit more story driven than the first book so I enjoyed it a lot more. Overall, very sweet. Highly recommend :)
Dude- litterly stop 🫢🫢🫢🫢 I litterly love all the characters, they are all so unique, and like Nathan is a complete idiot I tell you. It was nice to finally meet Lerina, I do with the last fight was longer, and tbh i wish this book was focused on Nathan more beacuse I feel like this book was Wayyy to focsed on Haven, but I dont mind because theyre amazing ✨✨
I loved this book because they were in a different World and they can change into animal's and they can teleport and I love books!will they find out if there are more faes in a different world which is across the world? Have a funny time reading this book and I love books that have magic in them! That is me I wish you a good time reading this book have a nice time READING this book!
A delightful sequel that continues the gorgeous art, compelling storytelling and rich lore that began in book one. Each character is beautifully realized and the reader is fully invested in each of their stories. This is a fitting conclusion to the adventure, but I hope the creators don't abandon the world of Nothing for ever. It feels like there are a lot more stories left to tell.
A battle of good and evil. A war of worlds, a war of species and a war of factions. With faeries, shape shifters and magical all around this a a quest full of adventure and courage.
The illustrations in this s graphic novel are crisp, detailed and colorful making the literary journey feel even more realistic!!
3.5 stars I love the art and the characters a lot. I was a little meh about the plot but I think it’s because I was getting confused by some of the panels. Which might be due to my dyslexia. It was a nice ending to the first book though.
Nathan and his friends continue their quest to the Edge while trying thwart the ancient evil spirt from destroying Nothing. All of this mayhem takes place while a war is in progress across the land. Success can only be accomplished with teamwork and cooperation from all parties.
