Harper Monroe has spent most of her life institutionalized. After cheating the system, at thirty-two years old she gains her independence and is released into the care of her twin brother Michael. But Harper isn’t crazy by any means…she sees the dead. Craving solitude and peace from society and her overbearing brother, Harper takes her large inheritance and purchases a farmhouse in the neighboring county. It comes fully equipped with a smoking hot mysterious caretaker, Isaac Cooke, and the two ghosts that accompany him.
We never know how truly broken we are until someone challenges us to take back our own power. This is a story about being lost in the darkness only to find the light that has always been within. *HEA but with severe mental health trigger
Do you believe in things you cannot see with your own eyes?!
This is a Supernatural story and it has triggers, there is lots of pain, sadness, anger and redemption, but most of all healing and embracing who you are meant to be.
This. Story. Wrecked. Me! ... And then ...Put. Me. Back. Together!
This author ALWAYS makes me think and feel, even if I don't want to own those types of emotions while reading.
It was heartbreaking, beautiful and sacred in it’s haunting honesty. The magic that is this book comes along very rarely. It captures and never let’s go. It’s an absolute must read!!
Oh wow this was absolutely fantastic🌟. It’s definitely not your typical romance story. Based around the supernatural with strong mental health issue it may be emotionally overwhelming to some but it’s well worth the read to see how Harper is able to overcome her childhood trauma🥰.
It takes a lot of strength and conviction to do what Harper did getting herself to a better place and taking back control of her life👍🏽. I was glad to see her brother supporting her independence although a bit reluctantly and being remorseful when he finally learns of his participation in her pain🥲. Issac is like a nomad but is drawn to Harper😍. I loved how their friendship is sparked and although they’re a little broken from their past they help each other out😘🥰😘. The twists and turns in this story keeps your attention and the supporting characters unique presence in having a hand in helping heal Harper and Hudson is really interesting.
I so loved this story❤️. It can be fearful not knowing or being able to comprehend what’s happening in the spirit realm but the world is full of miraculous things😊. This is my first book by Ms Michelsen and I throughly enjoyed it and I highly recommend it🙌🏽.
This story was so well written and plotted. Two people who made mistakes in their life and having to deal with the circumstances. Both Harper and Isaac had to deal with things in their lives that caused them so much personal turmoil. Harper could see dead people and resented their presence in her life. Isaac was guilty over a death he caused and dedicated himself to helping people in trouble. They were both sent to save each other. Once they were able to forgive themselves and accept themselves as they were, they were able to live the lives they were intended to live. I was not expecting the end. I kind o suspected it but it was still a shock when read.
NOTE: This book made Facebook's BWSL's Top Faves of 2022
An extremely powerful paranormal story that is a page-turner of the highest level. Although at times eerie, the intrigue and suspense ratchets up as you delve deeper into the narrative. There is tragedy, betrayal, sadness and misunderstandings. Harper struggles with being seen as she has been relegated to the shadows because of her perceived mental illness. Though her twin brother Michael loves her he had difficulty seeing beyond the superficial. Issac who suffers with his own emotional trauma becomes intertwined in Harpers’ life on an otherworldly level. This is a story of strength, survival and acceptance of who you are albeit social norms which so many of us tend to follow blindly. My emotions were on overdrive with this brilliantly written mind-altering novel. Give Cordelia Michelsen her flowers…they are so well deserved. If you are like me and appreciate good paranormal storytelling I highly recommend this read.
This was an amazingly, beautiful story. A story of loss, love, betrayal, forgiveness and redemption.
Harper, Issac, Michael and Rachel et al; embracing the unbelievable and trusting in things unseen. This is a haunting emotional story which will stay with you long after the last words read.
This was a beautiful read. There are no words to describe how much I enjoyed this book.It almost felt healing.Harper had a tough road but she got her happy ending.I have always believed there are things on this earth we can't explain. This author writes beautifully.
Wow..Cordelia never disappoints with her books and Welcome Back!! Harper's childhood had been one where you would crumble if you didn't know how to work the system. Her twin, Michael is determined to keep her in his care forever. Harper is determined to live her life, her way and alone. Isaac lives in the guest house on the farm Harper purchases. A friendship begins, decisions are made and the journey is interesting. When Harpers actions become known around town, secrets are revealed. I loved how the story flowed and kept me interested to see how this ends. Looking forward to reading more books from Cordelia Michelsen.
