Rate this book
Horror lurks in the darkest places of the World of Darkness. They are the Nosferatu, outcast and shunned. But even the night terrors have things to fear. Come, and learn of them.
A Clan book for Vampire: The Requiem
Uncover the filth-ridden origins of the Nosferatu in ancient Greece, where they haunted the Mediterranean nights as the god-plagued nosophoros.

Hi, I'm Jess, and I read stories. I grew up LOVING fairy tales, folklore, mythology - especially creation stories. I still do, but my tastes have grown over the years, and now I read just about anything I can get my hands on.

As well, I used to write stories (professionally).
I've helped create dozens of roleplaying games and products, ranging from the World of Darkness to the RPGs for the Supernatural TV show, and the Dresden Files book series.
I also write fiction, both novel-length and short stories. My first solo anthology, Monsters I Have Known, is available on Amazon and other retailers through Mad Muse Studio.

Most of it is narrative-style lore, which is what I like. I wish they dialed back a bit on using fonts as a crutch for flavor, as some of the layouts and fonts were difficult to read or really disjointed. But the actual content is solid.

I still can't decide how I feel about the lady Nosferatu who makes homophobes temporarily homosexual and horny.

Well this book wasn't flawless, but recommendable to read.
I think sometimes the haunting aspect of these ghastly vampires could have been used more and I think their potential was not fully used.
However I still think it is worth reading, simply to get a good idea on how many different ways there are to make vampire, or anyone else terrifying and tortured (e.g. how would you feel if you are cursed with open gashes all over your face?).

The art is overall very impressive albeit sometimes maybe a bit too colorful for a book about "Haunts".

A great end to a great set of books. The Nosferatu were one of my favorite clans in the old game and White Wolf kept true to their concept in the new one. In fact, by broadening the Nosferatu's unsettling nature to encompass things beyond simple appearance, White Wolf has made the Nosferatu much richer and given them both a wider appeal to players and a greater applicability within a game chronicle, all of which allows players to be far more creative with them than in the old system. Well done.

For those playing VTR or running a story of their own, this is an excellent resource. It has a wealth of information on the clan, and I especially like the introduction of so many kinds of Nosferatu. (Not all of them are physically grotesque, not all of them share the same grotesqueries, etc.)

In short, it's an excellent clan book, but not one I think will be particularly interesting or beneficial to those not playing Vampire: The Requiem (unlike Grangrel: Savage and Macabre).
