In a dystopian world where genetically altered alphas and natural omega‘s exist, survival is the name of the game. I enjoyed watching Rafael and Hailee’s story unfold, sharing titbits of their tragic pasts and struggles. It is interesting how despite rumours about the uncaged alphas that there may be some with integrity and who are also trustworthy. The ongoing foraging and trading for survival suspense blended with very steamy alpha and omega connections show a great start to a new series!

This is the first book I have read from this author and she has gained a new reader for her books! This was an amazing story that will have you wanted to read more from the series. I have received a copy of the e book and am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book has trigger warnings coming and going. Hailee was a walking magnet for men wanting to hurt her in the worst possible way. Yes, she did steal the medicine needed for her sister from Rafael but she left something in exchange for it. It may not have been enough in his mind but he kept harping on her being a thief and that got old really fast.

Once he finally stops treating her like she was a dangerous criminal he then started blaming her for trying to trap him with her being an Omega. He had some serious trust issues and he took a lot of it out on Hailee. Eventually he realizes it’s not her it’s him then he can’t get enough of her (insert eyeroll).

He then leaves her in a situation where she is not protected and she has to protect herself from yet again another male and his dark intent. When she turns up missing when he returns, he’s back to her being a sneaky Omega and her abandoning him.

The story had potential however the constant physical attacks on Hailee and the never ending poor pitiful me lament of Rafael didn’t really make me enamored of this world.

Damaged is mostly a cabin romance, or in this case, a hut. That happens to be one of the temporary waystations that Rafael, an alpha who primarily works as a courier in the lands of the Uncaged, goes to when he takes Hailee to task for stealing medicine from him. Hailee needs that medicine for her sister, but to Rafael, stealing is stealing. Little does he know that he’s got an omega on his hands….

I liked both Rafael and Hailee. Both have a strong sense of justice according to their own moral codes—for example, Hailee does take medicine from Rafael, but she leaves him all her money in return. Rafael believes in respect for omegas, which is a huge asset in the world of the Uncaged. It takes time for Hailee and Rafael to realize what they might mean to one another and to their futures.

This is a gentle omegaverse (at least within the realm of things that happen in omegaverse romance and in Monroe’s other Uncaged books). The mutual respect that Hailee and Rafael show for one another, and the fact that they truly listen to one another, made this book sail along for me. I don’t think it should be read as a standalone—Monroe has done a great deal of worldbuilding for the Uncaged alphas and omegas in previous books in this series, and she relies on a reader’s understanding of that in Damaged.

So if you like a variety in your omegaverse reading, and love having a couple you can root for, check out Damaged. It’s an excellent addition to Monroe’s enjoyable omegaverse series.

Raphael and Hailee . . .

Raphael Moonblood had trust and abandonment issues from his past. He was not looking for a mate. Hailee wasn’t trying to cause problems but she needed medicine for her sister. She saw all the bottles of medicine in a sack sitting in an ATV. While the boy who watching the ATV so it would not get stolen went to look for the owner, Hailee took one of the many bottles. Then she reached into her tote and dropped all of her the money and a canister of grain into his sack in exchange for the medicine.

When Raphael returned to the ATV, he was angry that someone stole from him and he chased after her. She tried to explain that she left payment, but he wouldn’t listen. He figures he will take what he wants as payment. Unfortunately, she is an Omega and her scent triggers Raphael’s rut. Does she belong to him now? Can being around such a kind woman who loves fiercely -- as shown by what she is willing to do for her sister -- teach Raphael about love and trust?

Hailee is trying to buy medicine for her sister but someone else has already purchased everything before she got to the market. She tries to track down the person to plead her case and she if he will trade with her since she’s desperate. The man is gone, but he left his purchases on his ATV and she makes the decision to take one set of medicine and leave her money and trade supplies in their place.

Alpha Rafael is angered that this female would steal from him so he tracks her down. He is immediately attracted to her and her omega scent sends him into a rut. He doesn’t like omegas and doesn’t trust easily, but their attraction to each other is strong and impossible to fight.

This was really enjoyable to read with action, adventure, drama and some serious heat! This Uncaged series has been really good and I look forward to more!

I enjoyed this story. It was entertaining and held my attention from beginning to end. It is not a super short story but it felt like a quick read. I enjoyed watching Rafael and Hailee come together. Hailee is trying to get medicine for her sister and ends up in trouble. Rafael does not trust easily and especially Omegas. He is drawn to Hailee and trying to avoid it but with her having "stolen" medicine from him, he won't just let it go. They end up holing up together in one of his bunkers and things take off from there. I enjoyed the way that things developed between them and grew into a relationship. The sex is explicit and hot and definitely added to the story. This is Alpha and Omega mating together and it definitely plays a part in drawing the two of them together. I enjoyed this one and will definitely be looking for more books in this series.

In this installment of the Uncaged Series, Hailee is largely unaware about the nature of her and status as an omega. In comes Rafael, who has spent the better part of his life tryin to avoid omegas. When they meet the connection is automatic event though Rafael refuses to admit it, but of course he fails in that attempt and their story really takes off. The story connects well to the last book by giving more information about the mysterious other alpha group. The the storyline is interesting and well told. I enjoy the way the series flows. Even if you read out of order you get the gist of the series. However, the best way to read this series is from the beginning for the full impact. But if you start here, you can always go back and not feel like you missed much, definitely can be read as a standalone. I look forward to Bjorn's book. Great series!.

Then she makes a decision that will change her life in ways she couldn't imagine. Rafael Moonblood isn't like other alphas, he just wants to be left alone to wander, and to scavenge or purchase anything that could be useful to his community. Rafael is enraged and determined to hunt down the thief who stole from him, but he just might get more than he ever expected, or thought he wanted.
These characters are all fascinating, well written and compelling. Action and steamy encounters with an unexpected twist in the plot make this a must read. Another fantastic book in a wonderful series.

Although this book can be read as a standalone, it makes much more sense to read in order. And since the series is available to read for free with Kindle Unlimited, this is a binge-worthy, dystopian series. This is Hailee and Raphael's story. Hailee rsks exposing herself as an omega when she goes to get medicine for her sister. She finds out a big brute of an alpha has bought it all and when she runs across his ATV and stash, she takes some of the meds, leaves payment, and runs. When Raphael finds what she has done, he chases her down, and saves her from some brutes. They find their attraction is strong and they will both do anything for the other. The book is well paced, steamy, action packed, and a page turner. Great addition to the series.

Hailee (h), an omega, has left her secluded village in search of antibiotics for her ill sister, but finds that all of the supply has been purchased by Rafael (H), an Uncaged Alpha. She tries to steal a small amount from him, leaving payment behind for the vial she's taken. Rafael is incensed that she tried to steal from him and sets out to track her down. There is an instant attraction between the two and Rafael sets about making the feisty omega his, even though he doesn’t like omegas and wants to fight his attraction to her. Lots of good action and adventure with plenty of Omegaverse traits (A-O dynamics, purring, rutting, knotting, claimi9ng). Hot, intense, sexy good read! This part of The Uncaged series, but it can be read as a standalone no problem.

Hailee is trying to help her sister so when she comes across a bag of medicine she waits until the perfect opportunity to go get some and she leaves some cash behind as payment. What she didn't count on was for Rapheal to track her down and tell her that he chooses how he gets paid and that she has stolen from him. When he is around her, he realizes too late that she's an Omega and her scent drives him crazy. Will they end up together? Will Rapheal let go of his trust issues?

This is a great story that will draw you in from the first chapter on. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

I am so loving this series. Life as we knew it has changed. The world is no longer normal and women are scarce, furtile women even more so. Alphas are seeking Omagas while also keeping their villages safe. Rafael doesn't trust anyone, except his brothers by choice, so when Hailee steals from him he plans to teach her a lesson but finds hi,self learning so much more. Danger surrounds the people living in small villages, scraping to survive, the story pulls you into a what if, could I survive a changed world?.

She takes one set and leaves her money and supplies in their place. Alpha Rafael was the person who she took the medicine from and he wasn't happy about what she had done. He finds her and their attraction to each other is strong. This was an awesome story that is exciting from the beginning to the very end. There was action, adventure, drama and steamy heat. I love this series. Highly recommend.

Hailee doesn’t know what to do so she steals the medication but leaves payment with his stuff. He then tracks Hailee down and kidnaps her but they are both in for more than they bargained for. They both have a strong moral code and they will stick to it. There is an instant attraction between the two and Rafael is fighting making Hailee his.

Hailee steals the much-needed medicine she needs for her sister from Raphael. He won’t let the thief take what is his so he goes after her. When he catches up with Hailee, he discovers she is an Omega and her scent, triggers his rut. He now has no plans to let her go. Fast-paced read with loads of drama, suspense and sizzling scenes. Great world building and an entertaining story. I liked it.

I love the uncaged series. The stories of alpha males that are rough and rugged and yet when the right female comes along , these men are tamed by them only. They're loyal and fierce to their clan and to their families. Rafael is no different when he gets with Hailee. She stole from him and he hunters her down to give her a lesson, but instead he finds she's an omega and he plans on keeping her.
