“Do you know what I would give to find his coffee spoons leaving rings on my clean counter?” Lukas shouts into the void between them. “To find the stems from his apples literally everywhere because he eats it all, core included, like a goddamn animal? But I can’t. Steven is gone. He’s gone and he’s never coming back.” Lukas pants, eyes tearing holes into the man in front of him. The wounds are raw and gaping. “He’s gone. And you’re here. And you have his voice, and his face, and his freaking hands...” he laughs humorlessly, “but you are not him. You will never be him.”
Suspended in time, married couple Lukas and Jonathan have lost something that can never be replaced. They wake up every day of their endless lives and repetitively face this loss in everything that they do. When this irreplaceable thing is seemingly returned to them, decades later, they will soon find out that there are harder things to face than loss.

Absolutely loved it! Real tears were shed in the reading of this book. Lukas and Jonathan are trying to navigate through life together, after a recent move to west coast Canada. Lukas sees a face he recognizes amongst the locals, and an avalanche of memories and emotions comes pouring down on him. The smile, the voice, it’s all him, Steven. What does Lukas do with this knowledge? This is a story of love and loss, and learning to live and love again. There’s more to life than just being alive, and Lukas, Jonathan and Steven need to figure out what life means to them. So much emotion in these chapters, with a delicious smattering of ✨spice✨throughout. There’s loss, and then more loss, and for a change of pace, more loss lol but it doesn’t feel like it’s all at once, and it is important to the storyline. Once the good stuff hits, when things feel like they’re in a comfortable spot BLAM! The author comes out swinging for our hearts. The twists towards the end had be SOBBING, no shame. That ending though, chefs kiss 🤌 MMM romance. Magical Realism. SOOOO GOOD! 5⭐️
Elle Stager writes relatable, dynamic, almost tangible characters. The fact that nearly all the characters in this novel are male, is delightful. Elle Stager's use of the character's memories adds depth and insight into the narrative. It is flawlessly placed throughout. I want this kind of loving relationship to be mainstream in novels and real life now!
This was my first MMM romance, and to be completely honest I was worried I was not going to enjoy this book but boy was I wrong! I haven't cried this much for a book in a while. Temporary infinity navigates the unconventional relationship of Lukas, Steven and Jonathan. This story has everything you could look in a romance book and much more (and what a plot twist there is!!). Elle Stager really knows how to keep you glued to the pages until the end.
This books falls far outside my usual genre, but I am trying to expand beyond my usual taste in the belief that change challenges us.
I loved it.
I don't want to really give anything away, but this one kept me guessing the whole way through. The author's use of memory scenes make the reader constantly question "What's happening? What's real?" And the ending? Damnnnnnnnnnn.
Incredible. It hooked me from the first chapter and I swear I felt like I knew the characters. The story is heart breaking and I don’t know if I’ve felt so many contrasting emotions while reading one book. Such a good read!
It's a lovely story at second chance love with a twist. Lovely story telling was hooked in when I started reading. I appreciate the Trigger warning about what the book was about.
I don't usually write reviews but I feel like I need to say something.
Part of me doesn't want to give anything away because what drew me to this book was the vague description and I think it made me love this book all the more. I really loved this book. Well written and edited with only one wrong word choice that stood out for me but the story takes place in Canada so maybe that accounts for it.
I cried way too much throughout. I highly recommend reading this if you are a fan of MMM stories. The sex scenes were good without turning the book into smut/erotica (imo) and overshadowing the actual story which was absolutely fabulous.
Read ahead if you'd like a little more info about the book but honestly, it might be better to just jump right in.
<<>> Lukas and Jonathan are a married gay couple who have recently moved to Canada. The couple used to be part of a throuple (MMM) until their partner Steven died several years earlier. As is usual in dealing with the loss of a loved one, the men see Steven everywhere they go. They know it's just their way of processing but it's nice to see reminders of him. That is, until Lukas actually sees Steven again, or rather a man (also Steven) who looks so much like his Steven that it has Lukas questioning everything. Did his Steven fake his own death to get away from Lukas and Jonathan? Reincarnation? Doppelganger?
This story follows Lukas, Jonathan, and Steven as they navigate their unconventional relationship.
There is a big plot twist to the story that I'll leave out because I thoroughly enjoyed guessing and figuring things out as I read.
