It’s just another Monster Monday… Inferna expected many things to happen— but sparks flying between her, the office rival, and his lover was not one of them.
Calen is a nerdy omega witch, one that Inferna wants to sink her teeth into. Art is a stuck-up boss but can be a little more charming outside the regular 9-5.
After an evil HR agent shows up with an agenda, everything starts to change. No one is safe, tensions are high, and the creatures of Warts & Claws Inc will have to fight spell and claw to make it to the weekend.
Can Inferna, Calen, and Art survive a work week from hell while discovering a love that’s off the charts?
This story contains the following:
SPICY Monster Office Romance Fated Mates BDSM Omega heats V*agina fangs and more ;) The Warts & Claws Inc series is a spicy monster romance series following an evil HR department vs. the office. This was like the best book I've ever read. Infera is one hella hot dom fem. I'm soooooooo gaaaaayyyyy HOLY FUCKING SHIT OH MY GOD! I wanna be her bitch. I'm jealous of Art and Calen. But Art is hot too. Fuck. Can i be tag teamed by Art and Inferna, please?
Calen is one needy bitch boy and I love it.
UGH! This book was soooo fucking good and I'm so excited for the rest of the series!
New series by Clio Evans is finally here! First book follows Inferna (She is the daughter of Dante and Peter from book 1 of Creature Cafe) She is a badass boss and mistress! The plot of this series essentially centers around an 2 companies that end up merging into one and we find out later on that there is something possibly nefarious going on.
In this book Calen and Art are essentially friends with benefits and Inferna walks in on them in a comprising position. Calen quickly is attracted to Inferna but Art hates her cause they are rivals. Quickly things change once Calen and Inferna are trapped in an elevator and he essentially GOES INTO HEAT!!! And Inferna and Art have to take care of him while also trying to find out what is happening to their company.
Clio writes the perfect cozy monster romances for me - she builds an interesting world where monsters and witches are part of normal society. I am so excited for the rest of this series and the mysterious Alex and Hazard and the evil Head of HR
I don’t care about the character and I don’t care at all about the subplot. In fact it actively decreased my interest in this book as a whole because it wasn’t flushed out enough for me to give a fuck. And I didn’t ask for plot with my porn. So if the author was trying to do it then they shouldn’t have rushed the “relationship” part of it…
Too fast for ily, too quick to mate, and too boring for me to care.
I need to steer clear of these series with the overarching subplot.
Bez zapowiedzi wparowuje mu do biura.... i znajduje go w jednoznacznej sytuacji ze swoim pracownikiem.
That's a monster thing, I guess.
This was a fun fem Dom book that turned a bit darker than I was expecting. Most of the book is spice, but it has an overarching plot that is higher stakes than is initially implied.
I don’t really understand how one book can simultaneously be cute and smutty while also rushed to the point that I thought I had accidentally skipped chapters *multiple times*
i’m being super generous with this because the beginning was genuinely so fun and i liked the dynamic of the trio but it really fell off halfway through. the writing got very very weak and repetitive… so many growls and grunts… the conflict was very weak… etc etc… but i had fun so that’s all that matters with this ig
Oh sweet baby succubus! This was everything. I am so excited to get to see Inferna all grown up in her domme glory. Mommy? Sorry, not sorry.
I really enjoyed this book. The idea of a company run by monsters and witches was super unique. I know this is this first book and we are only getting a small peek into the workplace dynamics but I need more!
The relationship between Inferna, Calen and Art was hot! Like fan yourself and look around to make sure no one noticed. I loved the slight enemies to lovers aspect. While it wasn’t extreme it gave the story a little more depth.
I am so excited for more delicious workplace debauchery and spice. As well as meeting more couples.
4 ⭐️ Sooo... I'll be reading spicy novellas all weekend, because I am devouring this entire series whole.
There'll be a full RTC, but for now:
Wow. Omg. Holy smokes that was hot! 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I mean I should have known... MMF monster romance with the FMC being the domme!? How has it taken me so long to read this!!!?
The steam was off the charts. My only issue was the plot. I also don’t enjoy office romances as much. I want the escapism of romance without a modern day workplace being the main setting. But that’s a me problem lol
This is 75% smut 25% plot and it’s a wild ride. Don’t expect intricate plot details or any sort of slow burn relationship building, just take what Clio gives you and say thank you.
Omega witches are definitely not something I thought I’d be reading about this year but here we are!
Not So Kind Regards sounded exactly like my kind of thing! Magical menage?! Paranormal problems?! Dom-sub dynamics?! Yes, please! Unfortunately, it started off...odd and quickly went downhill. Inferna, Art, and Calen all work in the same building, but on different floors in their separate companies. When it starts, Inferna is furious that her coffee machine is gone, because Art took it. I don't understand why he took it? He wanted coffee. Just make a cup of coffee! You don't need to transport the entire machine! It was a very forced set up to get Inferna to go to Art's office and catch him banging Calen. Not a great start, although I did like the tension between the three of them.
I wanted to like this one more, but I couldn't because the world-building is pretty bad. Monsters and witches exist, and we know they generally don't mix and that humans know about them. But that's all on that front. Monsters and witches don't get along so we can have extra relationship conflict? That's all we're given. On top of that, the terms "omega" and "heat" are thrown around a ton with zero explanation, which is problem because Calen being an omega witch in heat is the main driving force of the relationship and the plot. I had no idea what it all meant except that he needs a lot of sex. Lots of sex is great, but the reason was dumb. Also, what did him being an omega have to do with the company mergers? I have no clue.
It was also weird how generic the Warts and Claws business are. They're just companies run by witches and monsters that produce....products...and apps? Tossing out random business words like office, merger, HR, and desk don't tell me anything about what they're doing! The whole plot is centered around some weird conspiracy taking place in the office building following a sudden merger, but why should I care? I don't even know what they're doing! I'd have rather had no plot and just the relationship.
Not So Kind Regards was just a disappointment. Nothing makes sense so I had trouble staying in the story and caring about anything going on. There is a ton of sex, so not all is lost, I guess.
Was this my first full on monster romance? I think it might have been... And it was super entertaining. Hot, with just the right amount of story to keep me invested.
We have our classic enemies to lovers vibe happening between Inferna (monster) and Art (witch). When the two are forced to come together over a shared mate, Calen (another witch), more than sparks are flying. There are steamy scenes after steamy scenes - both in and out of the office. There's teeth in places there usually isn't and a whole lot of knotting - mind you, the only other time I've read knotting was in Bride so I'm still new to this whole thing.
But under that there was this story line of hostel work takeovers and kidnappings. Who is behind the plot to kidnap Omega witches? We still don't know! And please don't tell me that Poppins was involved because that would just make me so sad. Inferna trusts him so much.
I have a thing with teeth where anything with them is freaky in a bad way so take that as this book being so good that I have given it such a high rating even if she has a chompy coochie.
This book is super spicy, funny, and action packed. I don't know how Clio fits so much fun emotion, and sexy time into 150 pages.
Inferna is the daughter of Dante and Peter from the Creature Cafe series book one Little Slice of Hell. She is part incubus and human, however her looks and personality very much take after her monster side. She is a femme dom, total bad ass, confident, and sex on a stick. She is also very kindhearted, loving, thoughtful, a good friend, partner, and the acting HBIC for Claws Inc. I absolutely adored her and hope that she's the main focus of this series just as the Barista had been with CC.
This kind of kicks off with a brief enemies to lovers vibe. Art is a mostly human looking witch and the GM of Warts Inc. which is a neighboring company within the same building. His inconsiderate behavior causes Inferna to act out a bit. Art is more closed off due to his upbringing. He tends to distance himself and put up walls. He is a dom as well, however after meeting Inferna he learns that being a switch isn't the worst thing. It took Art some time to grow on me but once he heeled I was down for it.
Last but not least we have sweet, adorable, kawaii, Calen. Calen is an omega witch whose appearance is more monstrous. Think wicked witch green. I don't know how but every time this man was mentioned, spoke, provided his POV all I could think of was a basket full of puppies that I wanted to cuddle and keep forever. He is definitely a needy submissive. I love how his softeness complimented Inferna and Art.
I was both excited and apprehensive about starting a new series. Since Inferna has connections to the Creature Cafe, I was curious if we would see the old crew, but I was also scared that I would unintentionally compare the two series. I can say tell you that yes, the old crew is mentioned. It would be impossible for them not to as they are Inferna's family. But it's clear that this is a series that stands on it's own and CC does not need to be read (but you should if you haven't because it's amazing)
I really enjoyed the adversity and mysterious villain whose POV we get to see!!! I have always loved Office centered movies and shows. The Office (UK/US), The It Crowd, Office Space, The Belko Experiment, and Office Party just to name a few.
I'm really excited for this series and to see other matches up. This seems mainly Monster and Witched themed, so I'm not sure if there will be any humans within the future pairings but it will be exciting to find out.
I gave this 5 stars for the strong physical reaction it gave me. It's super fking hot and it was such a turn on seeing Inferna take control. I'm a sucker for praise, but there was pain and a bit of degradation in there too. It was excellent and plentiful.
I highly recommend this book and am excited for the rest of the series.
the only good thing about this book is the cover, it’s giving americanized manga. the characters have 0 personality, 0 description, 0 growth. they just come out like “yeah as the readers already know i come from a big cursed family” like bitch? who tf are you? i’m REALLY disappointed
