★ Book 5 of the Quint Adler Series ★ (Can be read as a standalone or you can start with Book 1, Revenge at Sea .) Emmett Fisk, a ninety-two-year-old man, walks into Quint's brand new P.I. firm. He tells the heartbreaking story of his grandson's murder twenty years ago. How no one was ever arrested. How the cops no longer consider it an open case. And how Quint might be his last chance to find out what happened to his grandson. Feeling for the old man, and more than a little intrigued, Quint agrees to take the case. Quint Adler, P.I. is a decades-old murder mystery that will lead Quint down the most dangerous case of his career.
This is a quick read with a good story. I enjoyed the characters and getting to know some of Quint's new friends as well as his old friends. I like how the mystery is solved.
Love all Brian's books. Perhaps this one most of all. I wasn't sure Quint would figure this one out, but he did. Loved the surprise ending. Best if all it downloaded on my birthday. Thanks Brian.
A really fun page-turner that takes place in many locations where I've lived and spent time in the Bay Area. No spoilers, just broad strokes. Quint Adler, after several major successes as an investigative reporter, becomes a P.I. and opens his first office in a Walnut Creek, CA strip mall. This is all great except he has no clients until an elderly gentleman, who knows Quint's name from a case Quint handled successfully as a journalist, walks in. The gentleman wants Quint to look into the murder of his 14-year-old grandson who died 20 years ago, but whose murderer was never identified. They both acknowledge that Quint is unlikely to make progress in a long-cold murder, but Quint accepts the challenge.
What ensues is a fast-paced case in which Quint takes a fresh look at the case and the evidence collected to date. Quint's fresh eye may or may not be what it takes to solve the cold case.
I read this in two days. From the first sentence grabbed my attention. Captivating characters, compelling story , each book is better than the last. Impatiently awaiting the next installment.
...is one of my favorite detectives. As a fan of British Crime Series, he is an American detective I related with. Brian Sullivan fast became my Earl Gardener and just as I loved Perry Mason and Paul Drake, I always look forward to Quite next case.
Well Quint is at it again. Since he left Vegas some things have changed. Quint and Cara's relationship has ended for good, Quint has moved into a new apartment, finally got his P.I. license, opened a small office a few blocks from his apartment, and now has his first case. Quint has been hired by a 92 year old grandfather, who wants him to look into the murder of his grandson that happened 20 years ago. Quint takes the case and starts his investigation. He enlists the help from a motley crew of characters, as he always does. The investigation is moving along, when he gets the opportunity to take on a second case. He takes the second case then things go south, in true Quint fashion. He is now involved in a murder and looking over his shoulder, because his life is now in danger. Just like the previous 4 books in the series, it is a rollercoaster ride. The story will suck you in and make you feel like you're right there in the middle of the investigation. As always the writing and character development is phenomenal. If you follow this author and his books, you need to get this book asap. If you're not familiar with this author it's best to start from the beginning with book 1. Brian O'Sullivan also has several other books you would enjoy, too. There is a book 6 coming. And I can't wait.
As always, Brian captures your attention from the first page and makes you feel like you know every character! He takes you along to every location as though you are there with him! I have already reserved his next book!
This is the 5th in the series about Quint Adler, who is a Private Investigator. Quint now has his own office, small, but he is just starting. He also has his first case! When he meets Emmett Fisk, he literally has to pick him up off the sidewalk. Emmett is 92 years old and missed a step. But, that doesn't stop Emmett. He needs to hire Quint, in what must be one of his toughest cases yet. Emmett's grandson, Ronnie, who was 14, was found murdered several days after being reported missing. This case is coming up on being 20 years old.
Now, Emmett would like to hire Quint to find out just what really happened to his grandson, as the case was closed and no one was ever arrested. This thriller follows Quint in his investigation of the case and if you read any of these books, you know Quint is going to be facing guns, knifes and the threat of losing his life. Quint needs to get his gun license, lol.
I did love the dedication of this book, Thanks Brian! You need to pick up your copy to see what I mean!
Brian O'Sullivan's brilliant character, "Quint Adler, P.I.,"/ former crime reporter, has been hired by the 92 year old grandfather of a murdered boy. The problem is that the murder occurred 20 years ago, and no clues or suspects have turned up ever. All Quint knows is that Ronnie Fisk disappeared on his way home from school, and his body was found weeks later.
Quint's investigation soon finds info that was never part of the original police investigation. Will a committed Quint find the monster the cops never could, or will justice delayed really become justice denied?
Packed with emotion, tension, and terror, "Quint Adler, P.I." is another spell binding entry into this exciting series.
This story was a vast improvement on the previous Quint Adler story but still a far cry from the Bay Area Butcher. There was enough here to keep me interested in the stories as I've seen how good they can be and this one is right in the middle lane at 3.5 stars. Enough twists and foreshadowing to keep the pace chugging along.
Just when you think you might have enough of Quint Adler, you would be wrong. We meet almost a whole new set of characters, and not only is no character safe from elimination one way or another, we see a bit of a grittier Quint. More of an edge, more of a take-no-crap PI. I’m enjoying all of these books and look forward to the last three!
Another excellent Installment. I can’t wait for the next in the series. My only complaint - I went to junior high in San Ramon and was hoping to see my Alma matter the pine valley pumas mentioned. Great story and plenty of excitement. You’ll enjoy it!
I really love all these books but it is not professional to mix up a character’s name. Matt Greeson was also Ryan Greeson. This author needs to hire a good editor to catch these issues. Storyline is good and I have enjoyed the series.
Good story, well written but for me a little slow in the beginning. Unlike the first 4 in this series there was't much excitement to keep me reading. Part 3 began to build into a thrilling and surprising ending. I would recommend this book with the advice to hang in there the thrill is coming,
I absolutely love the Quint series and I always look forward to the next book in the series at the end of each book I’m reading! The twists and turns keep you guessing. Keep them coming!
Another 5 star book in the Quint Adler series by Brian O’Sullivan! This fast paced book was impossible to put down! The ending made my heart race, not knowing what was going to happen next!! I can’t wait to read book 6, and follow Quint in his next adventure!
