(Perception is most of the times subjective. Yet, there are some times that is objective!!
Soooooo, when the first part of a series is defined as a prequel, I expect this prequel’s story to be continued in the next part.
Well, it was a wrong speculation of me in this case!!! (See!! subjective perception… or objective???? 🤔))
This prequel was incomplete, with no note or indication, and the next part that follows has the story of the prequel’s secondary characters!
The duo of authors mentioned they will also release a 3rd book, with the story of another secondary character! 😳
If you are looking for romance and plenty of smut, very well written with fast and steady pace, don’t miss this short, yet unfinished story.
Trent and Ashley shared an explosive chemistry, their insta connection was palpable but the relationship between them was very complicated. They would definitely have to cross a bridge when they come to it...
Regardless, both mcs were easy to connect with, they made a wonderful couple. Trent was a very nice book boyfriend!
The sex scenes (and the relevant dialogues) were unoriginal, but above all they were not consistent with the characters’ age. Trent had just turned 18 y.o. as to be so aggressive or experienced throughout the sex scenes. I don’t know, maybe the new generations have advanced or evolved so much more... 🤷🏻♀️
There was so much potential to be explored instead of their sex life.

Just working on the back log of some of my fave authors 😍 I typically don’t enjoy books that lean more YA but I did this one. This little novella was so cute and just that little bit of spice you need! I also loved seeing Masqued be a part of this book, IYKYK 😏
Do you believe in fate? Because that’s how it seems for Trent and Ashley that they are meant to be together after they meet at a club one night and spend the night together. Only to not see each other again until they’re both at the same party because of friends/family. Trent falls head over heels for Ashley but she has something holding her back and some secrets she is scared to share that prevents her from being with Trent. Even though Ashley feels like he is hers, she knows it can’t continue & they do their best to make the best of the situation.
Their book ended in a bit of a, I wouldn’t say quite a cliffhanger, but an open ended ending for them to maybe have their HEA. And guess what? They’re finally getting it! L.A. Shaws next book coming out this fall we will get Trent & Ashley’s full story & I cannot wait!

“Baby doll, it would always be settling if it wasn’t you,”
Trent is such a sweetheart. Who wouldn’t miss him? I fell for Trent instantly. I love that he is a caring person even though you would expect a different personality from him. He’s also not afraid to show his emotions. Ashley falls instantly but has a secret that prevents her from completely falling head over heels for trent. Ashley is a good character but I would’ve liked a little more personality from her.
Spice 3/5. This is a nice easy novella to read. We have a good variety of characters that are mentioned in this book and I feel they will make a great addition to the full length story. Even though this is a novella I would’ve liked to see a little more back story behind Ashley’s secret. I felt we should’ve been drawn in with more than just the hot undeniable attraction Trent and Ashley have for each other. I do feel we get enough to draw us into this world based on the spice alone though. I cannot wait to see where this story goes from here. I’m hoping we get more detail as their story continues.

A great debut Novella!
We meet Trent and Ashley and are immediately hit with heat, chemistry, and a stinking good sex scene 🥵🔥The story unfolds and reveals itself as the book goes on. There are a couple of flashback scenes, they integrated smoothly and flowed well.
The characters are young, and the writing and language used matches their ages. Saying that though, in no way did it feel juvenile or immature. I did have a proper laugh out loud moment when they said ‘strictly dickly’. I’ve said that myself before on numerous occasions 😂 although, I say it in the way Woody Harrelson did in the movie Friends with Benefits 😆
I love how Trent catches all the feels 🥰So sweet but at the same time really hot and steamy. When you know, you know. Ashley is a bit more reserved but only to protect her heart.
I’m looking forward to the author’s next books.

I’ll be honest, I don’t read novellas very often. The novellas I have read are usually short and lack a lot of details because they are just introducing or adding on to a story. With that being said, however, I am really happy that I read this novella. The storyline between Ashley and Trent is intriguing and complicated, so I am glad that I read this before the novels begin. This novella did a great job at introducing, and adding details and depth to the characters. I can’t wait to see where the series takes Ashley and Trent, as well as Lottie and Greyson.

I really enjoyed reading this novella. And thanks to these two beautiful ladies for adding another book boyfriend to my list. Trent. 🖤 If you love strangers to lovers, this is the book for you! Ashley is strong girl, who lives for a taste of freedom. Love isn’t always easy, and sometime we must face a challenge to be with the one we love. Trent, is supportive and understanding, and definitely know how to treat his lady right. 😉 I hope we get more of Ashley and Trent, and I can’t wait to read Lottie’s book! 🖤

What a debut from this writing duo.
This book was for sure the start of promising things to come by this author.
The story is beautifully written, the plot was on point, and the character development was truly brilliant.
As a H Trent was EVERYTHING, he can sure talk the talk! The way he calls her doll makes me swoon so hard!!!

This was a novella, but I could have easily read so much more, and the secondary characters really stood out too, so I'm really eager for them to get their own books.

The Novella def left me wanting more! The book had my attention from the get-go and the ending left me shook. I have read many HEA books but this is definitely my first book to end on a compromise! I must read the rest of this series! Trent is what book boyfriends are made of!

Loved Trent and Ashley. I first read about them in Make You Love Me and wanted to read their story. This was a fun, short novella that filled in all the stuff we didn't know happened during Make You Love Me. If you love spicy high school romances with some drama you will love this one.

Finding Love and hoping to hold on to it!
L.A. Shaw ( who I have recently discovered is actually 2 authors) is new to me. Make You Miss Me is the first book of theirs that I have read and I loved it!
I was instantly drawn into the bestie friendship between Ashley and Lottie. Convincing Lottie to attend a Halloween themed party, imagine the surprise Ashley feels when the hottie Joker ends up being familiar. One hot moment with Trent was all Ashley thought she'd ever have. Because of family obligations she does everything to fight the growing feelings for a man she knows she can't keep. However Trent doesn't give up so easily and will fight for the girl he loves!
This is a must read! My only complaint was that it was too short, I want more Ashley and Trent! Thankfully we get Lottie and Greyson in the next book!

Make You Miss Me is the start of Ashley and Trents journey. They meet and never expect to find each other again. But just so happens they do in a small town in NC. Ashley is upfront about her life is not her own and they are together for a limited time. Even though the story ends on a somewhat cliffy it will pick back up in the book Make You Mine.

Omg. Ok. Wait.. I'm still recovering! How did this genius Duo put all THAT into a novella! What! And then the sneak peek 👀 😏 I'm going to D!e. This novella was amazing! I love it. Trent was a MAN he didn't hide his feelings or emotions and he was clear about what he wanted. His support for Ashley was so HOT and that mouth! 😍 can't wait for more especially with that little surprise at the end for lottie! Ahhhhh!

This was an amazing novella!! I honestly can't wait for the full story of Ash and Trent. The emotions I felt through the whole hour it took me to read this made me so invested in the rest of their story. I just can't wait!

Ok so this debut novella(at least that’s what I’m calling it because it was a short read)from LA Shaw was pretty good! I was definitely captured from the beginning. And I love the vibe it gives off. It definitely leaves you wanting more and I’m hoping that we do see more of a full novel for Trent and Ashley because there is no way in hell these two love story is over.
The spice and all that dirty talking, (seriously loved her being called “doll”) was on point.
What I really like that in such a short time, there was a storyline underneath all that smut which I personally love!
I’m giving it 4 stars because like I said i definitely want more from these two, I want to know all the “whys” Ashley life is mapped out for her before it even really starts, this story is them high school seniors going off to college, that summer fling that stays with you and like I said I just want more.

I need more of Trent & Ashley now, please! This is a debut novella into the Make You series & what an introduction that was! Whew! I'd been looking for reads that take place in NC, since I'm from here, & saw this book recommended on a friend's IG story. So of course, I had to read it. I'm also in a summer reading mood so this was perfect. It's a quick novella that's packed with lots of spice & an intriguing plot. It left me so curious as to what's going to happen next with Trent & Ash. Thankfully, it's a HFN, but knowing me, I'm definitely wanting them to get their HEA because there are some questions I have & they need answering. I definitely recommend reading this quick & fun read! A perfect intro into this world.
Also, if you're familiar with NC & the beaches here(mainly EI/AB) then you'll get the reference for a shrimp burger. That made my heart so happy.

Catching glimpses of Ashley and Trent in ‘Make Me Love You’ got me all curious on what happened between them! And I just have to start out by saying, L.A. Shaw wastes no timing in turning up the heat in this novella!!

This is a Novella that introduces their Make You series.
If you’re wanting a quick read with a fast burn and lots of spice, I would highly suggest this read. The chemistry between Ashley and Trent is so hot, and they explore a couple of different kinks.
Not only did they check all the boxes for spice, but the plot itself was intriguing. Ashley is scared to pursue anything with Trent due to a situation in her personal life that could put him at risk and causing her to hold back.
What upset me was finding out that the first full-length novel of the series is not a continuation of Ashley and Trent’s story. I was left with too many questions and I’m unsure if they’ll get answered.
Still, I’m looking forward to more from this duo and the sneak peek of Lottie and Greyson’s story has definitely caught my interest.

This is a Novella that introduces their Make You series.
If you’re wanting a quick read with a fast burn and lots of spice, I would highly suggest this read. The chemistry between Ashley and Trent is so hot, and they explore a couple of different kinks.
Not only did they check all the boxes for spice, but the plot itself was intriguing. Ashley is scared to pursue anything with Trent due to a situation in her personal life that could put him at risk and causing her to hold back.

There is something addictive in L.A.'s writing and I am here for it.
Ashley and Trent's connexion at a summer party is instant. Their chemistry is next level and the smut scenes in this novella are so good !
I went into this blindly and really loved discovering the storyline as I read. I knew from the moment we learned Ashley's story that the story wouldn't end as I wanted it (and actually the ending made sense and I am happy with it - for now) but that makes me very excited for this couple's full novel !
I also loved reading about the start of their friends' relationship and am very curious bout their story. I already know I will get my heart broke. Can't wait...!

Holy Wow
I have never loved two characters soooo fast! I need answers, I need more! Ashley and Trent are incredible and just getting started. This will they won’t they is killing my soul. I’m on the edge of my seat in anticipation!!!
Ashley and Trent meet, fall hard but then never see each other again until they do. Shocking them both to the core, they realize they cannot and do not want to get enough of each other. But, Ashley has family obligations she must fulfill! Shaking them both with this sadness, this can’t be the end of their amazing story. Fate brought them together twice, I am sure it will do it again.

Ashley's a conflicted girl with family obligations, and Trent is a you man who knows what and who he wants. Fate has brought them together but circumstances beyond their control will keep them apart. The chemistry between these two is strong which is why I like them so much. Their meet cute is more meet steamy as is their relationship. Their story doesn't end here, as L.A. promises their full story will come later. This story introduces us to Grey and Lottie. Their up next. Enjoy.

what on earth did i just read? i saw all the 5 stars people on here rated and thought this novella was going to be good… boy, am i wrong!
the way trent spoke annoyed the fuck out of me. he spoke like a total douche bag the whole time. you know those dumb jocks in cringey ass movies? that’s what it was like.
i literally had to skim through this novella to finish it because i don’t ever dnf, but damn i got so close.
defs won’t be reading the next book.
