She was just the means to an end…until she started to become more.

Faced with her parents insistent matchmaking, TIYA SOOD claims to be in a steady relationship. To her bad luck, she blurts out the name of Vihaan Rajpoot—bad boy and serial heartbreaker—as her boyfriend.
Convincing Vihaan to agree to her ill-advised plan and play the role of temporary boyfriend was easy, but staying away from him…so hard, especially when she’s been attracted to this bad boy since day one.

VIHAAN RAPOOT has lived in the shadows for the longest. Haunted by the events of the past, he doesn’t do serious relationships. With the rising danger on the lives of his loved ones, he is forced to come out in the open and face the man they’ve all been hiding from. Vihaan will do anything to learn more about the events in his past...including agreeing to be Tiya’s fake boyfriend.
But when the lines between fake and real are slowly blurred, even the best thought of plans go for a toss. Tiya is everything Vihaan has ever wanted, but being with her is not in his future, yet keeping her at a distance is beyond unbearable.

When his enemy raises the stakes in this age-old war, will Vihaan be able to give up the one woman who has begun to mean more to him or will he jeopardise his family's safety?

This is Book 2 in the Bond of Brothers Quartet and can be read as a standalone.

My Rebel by Sapna Bhog Book Review on Njkinny's Blog

Read my complete review and book quotes on Njkinny's Blog

Rating: 4.5/5

This book in one word is “gripping”.

I was so intrigued by Vihaan Rajpoot, playboy extraordinaire who noone knows much about like where he lives or about his personal life, in the previous book. And eagerly waited to read his story. So, when My Rebel released, I jumped at the chance to read it.

The base mystery of what happened twelve years ago to the Rajpoots continues in this book, and the plot thickens further. More layers of the mystery are revealed, and new information comes to light. So, I sat engrossed all through, and could not leave the story until the very end. And then, too, I was left itching to read the next book right away!

Sapna Bhog’s writing style is easy, fluid, and immersive. So, I was sucked in the story right from the start and stayed hooked until the very end. This story is set in Shimla and Dubai. And while reading the book, you will feel like you are there. Every detail is realistic, and every setting so easy to visualize.

Then the perfect balance of emotions, romance, and suspense added to my entertainment. The past tragedy and its long lasting impact on the Rajpoot family brought tears to my eyes. And I fervently prayed for a happier ending for them.

Also the intense and sizzling chemistry between Vihaan and Tiya is hot but heartfelt due to the splendid balance of angst, yearning, tenderness, and love.

With an engrossing plot, splendid characterisation, and sexy chemistry but heartfelt emotional play, this book is a complete package!

While I absolutely adored this book, I was also very disappointed to find numerous grammatical errors in it. There are missing words, errors in sentences, and mistaken usage of character names. So taking away half a star from my rating for this.

All in all, this book was worth the wait, and now I am itching to read the next book in this must read series. Njkinny Recommends this beautifully done romantic suspense to all adult readers of romance.

Heartfelt Beautiful Story

Sapna Bhog never disappoints me whenever I read her books. She puts me on a journey that I eagerly anticipate, complete with a set of compelling characters and a gripping story. This book is a refreshing drink in the heat of summer for me and a perfect addition to the series.

This book follows the story of Vihaan and Tiya. To save herself from her parents' matchmaking, Tiya claims Vihaan Rajpoot as her boyfriend. Making him agree to her plan is not a problem; however, resisting the attraction is. Vihaan had to face his enemy for faking Tiya's boyfriend, and to protect his family, he opted to come out of hiding. Vihaan is a mystery to everyone; his life prevents him from having a serious relationship. Only playboy and heartbreak can adequately define him. But there is something between Vihaan and Tiya that feels more real. And Vihaan is also hiding his real reason for being with Tiya, which can break everything that grows between them.

Vihaan gives me the inside of the long-hidden secret, and it is so heartfelt and painful to know about it. The backdrop storyline is fascinating from the start, and this one adds to it. Vihaan and Tiya's banter makes me laugh in every scene, and their dynamic adds to the story's appeal. Their chemistry is blazing hot, powerful enough to make you want more.

The author has a charm for writing the supporting characters, and this book is no exception. Bhog describes the scene in a simple and evocative way. I've been dying to read Aaryan's book ever since the previous one, and this one has just sparked my curiosity. But in this novel, Dev tickles my interest and tempts me to hear his side of the story.

The best part about this book that makes this book more special for me is the connection between this book and my favorite series, the Sehgal Family and Friends Series. It is strategic and well planned. The marriage of Sheena and Rajiv Mehra happens in the first book of the Sehgal series, but we never know anything about Rajiv, so it comes as a huge surprise and delight to read.

However, this book repeats some moments from the first book, which is a major letdown for me. Sapna Bhog was introduced to me via the fake-dating trope. That book is one of my favorites, but this book hardly devours the trope despite having powerful characters, a strong storyline, and intense chemistry. I had high hopes for this one.

It is the heartfelt story of family love, loyalty, longing, and pain tangled with attraction and true love. This book has a powerful hold on you that keeps you hooked until the very end. There are so many memorable and captivating moments that I enjoy reading.

3.5/5⭐
I have not had a very good history with second books in a standalone series and was quite nervous when I was starting with this one.
I kinda have a mixed feelings about this one, I loved the banter between Tiya and Vihaan it was cute as hell but I still did not care enough about these characters for the majority of the book, it was only when I finished almost 60% of that I started to like them.
I was not excited enough to read Vihaan's story and thus that did affect my ratings for this book.
OVERALL OPINION:
I like it but not as much as I as the previous books by the author
But I will recommend you to read this entire series because although these are standalone books I will still advise you to read them in order.
This series might turn out to be another of my Favourite series by Sapna Bhog😉😉😉😉😉😉😉😉

Sapna's books are always a delight to read... and every book she writes always makes you go wow

This one is no less...if you have read book 1 in the Bond Of Brothers Quartet ( (My Ruin), you would definitely be waiting for this one

Vihaan, the cutest badboy and the hellcat Tiya's story makes the plot even more intense, now that Vihaan is out to face Dev.... Their chemistry is sizzling, the story line exciting and the end leaves you, as always, wanting for more

If 1 and 2 are like this, am wondering what's gonna happen with 3 ( Aaryan and Sanjana ... wow ) and 4 ( Dev and Avi .... this one is definitely killing me )

An awesome book, simple, riveting, and hard to put down. The story had its heart and soul in it's place. Wonderful read!
Loved the sizzling chemistry of Vihaan & Tiya, both rebellious by nature, yet with kind warm hearts.
Vihaan had to keep Tiya at a distance because of his past and his commitment to the safety of his family, but one touch and he was a goner.
She entered his life like a whirlpool and he got sucked into her warmth, her care, and love.
The plot was good, not much twists and turns but it gave good details of the past, which were missing in the first book of the series.

Love, Lust, Secrets and Family - this book is full of intense emotions and suspense. Each character is important to the plot - nobody is really a ‘side character’. Waiting eagerly for the next in the series.

So, coming to the second book in the series, I was able to finish it less than 5 hours and in one sitting. So, that's a good thing, I guess? I skimmed through a lot of pages throughtout the book- yes, but definitely more so toward the end. It wasn't exatly a bad book, per se - but definitely not an eye-catching-heart-stopping kinda book.

The story revolves around Tiya and Vihaan, but we also get to meet our previous book MCs Shaurya and Myra and that was good. We also again see a lot of the characters from the upcoming books of Aaryan and Avantika and Dev Luthra (obviously). Out of the 2 books released so far in the Bond of Brothers Series, I feel My Ruin as a story was better than My Ruin. Although, I liked the dynamics between Tiya and Vihaan better, as they had a good banter between them. But for me, the character development and the love between them, wasn't very convincing. I understand, because a) unlike Shaurya and Myra, these two don't have a history between them and b) I wasn't exactly sure if the author went for an enemies-to-lovers trope or fake-dating trope - because either was for me personally, not very well execute. Because both these tropes happen to be my top favourites and having read so many books based on these tropes, I believe my expectations and standards are very high. So it probably is a me problem and not the author and author problem, maybe? Perhaps, thats the case with this book.

There wasn't much to the book, although there was definitely one particular sequence that the author brought to the story, which was quite a pleasant surprise for me. I loved that small part a lot more than the book actually, so I guess that about sums up my opinion of the book as a whole. As a religious follower of the Sehgal Family and Friends series from the same author, I was so happy she gave a connection between the two series, plus it was well executed. It was really nice to delve a little more in the lives of Sheena Sehgal and Rajiv Mehra. We only ever got a proper introduction of these two in the first book, Take a Chance on Me from the SFAF series. After which, they were mentioned only fleetingly. We always knew these two lived in Dubai, but to again meet them, was definitely a good stratergy. So kudos to the author on that :)

I will definitely read the remianing 2 books from the series only to know more about the traumas of both Aaryan and Avantika. But mainly to learn more about the past from Dev's perspective and to know about his side of the story from that night years ago, when everything changed for not just one, but 5 people together. I also wanna know what kind of a person Sanjana Luthra is too. So yeah, I'll stay tuned and I am also happy that I do not have to wait long for the other books to release.

Wild & tranquil romance

Wild & tranquil are the words that come to me just as I finish this one. Tiya and Vihaan as characters are fiesty but there is an easing charm about their interactions and equation. The entire story felt like a beautiful breeze despite the heavy plot in which they stay in. The root story is very deep but I really loved how light and honest Vihaan and Tiya's story sounded. Very refreshing.

I have a feeling the next two in line are going to be intense and honestly I've been waiting for Dev and Avantika's story from the first book. It has only intensified now & I'm even intrigued to know the all black piano playing calm and calculative Aaryan. Wonder if he will meet Sanjana by chance without knowing her identity, will it be a secretly in love in the past story from either sides or will it be a fresh in love without knowing each other's identities or a clear cut planned set up that gets real. Can't wait for the next one and the next.

One thing I really really loved about Rebel is how alive Tiya is presented. She figuring out things like a smartass has been my favourite part of the book. Except of course the last act but I cut her some slack there. A man can get very confusing at times. But yeah overall I loved how lively and real and fun Tiya sounded. The angle with her parents was beautiful and I really liked the two scenes she had with Aaryan too. I hope I get more of her interaction with him in the next one lol.

Vihaan is a great man. While usually such characters are presented in a cliched format I like how Sapna made a honest man out of him who has a soft heart. Throughout she gave him a layer of genuineness despite his situations whereas you usually see such a character being a downright douchebag. I'm not really a fan of Sapna's Male characters but Vihaan is obviously going to be a favourite. I just loved how he openly admired Tiya for who she is and was even vocal about it. The way he admired her attitude is honestly dreamy. More such men please Sapna.

Having loved Book 1, the anticipation for book 2 was killing, but was totally worth it. The suspense and the romance went up a notch, making it an exhilarating reading experience.

Tiya, to escape her mother's matchmaking plans, blurts out that she is dating Vihaan Rajpoot, her bestie’s brother-in-law. Insanely attracted to him, he appears before her and saves her face in front of her mother and pretends to be her fake boyfriend. Vihaan, also attracted to Tiya has an ulterior motive in agreeing to her plan. Spending time together, the line drawn between them blurs and they start having feelings for each other. But Vihaaan, haunted by his past, lives a life of seclusion and is unwilling to bring Tiya into his mess. Add to it his desperate bet with his arch enemy, Dev Luthra, the stakes to keep Tiya at bay just gets higher. What is the bet about? What is Vihaan’s past and what keeps him from acknowledging his love for Tiya? How does Tiya break the chink in his armour?

Tiya, aptly nicknamed hellcat, is beautiful, feisty, and a sassy woman with a penchant for quirky cusswords. Confident, yet craving her parents approval regarding her choice of profession, she is all heart, the way she understands Vihaan’s dilemma. Vihaan is a dream, a rebel with a golden heart. He is sexy, naughty and a protector, a rock for his family. Their fun banter, their explosive chemistry, their yearning for each other, despite the dangers, is the highlight of the book. The camaraderie and dynamics between the siblings is beautifully narrated and I especially loved how they triumphed a tragedy, rose above it and developed a tight knit circle. I was thrilled to read about Sheena and Rajiv, and it took me back to the Sehgals. The climax is mind-blowing and sheds more light on the past events and the plot hereby thickens. I absolutely love the bad boy Dev, and am eagerly waiting for his story. A brilliantly written dramatic, revenge saga, this book is a must read.

Fearless tiger and the hellcat 👍

Have you ever seen or read the fight between the ruthless tiger and the hell cat????
If your answer is no then this is the best possible way to learn more about them.

Vihaan Rajput the fearless tiger and the bad boy of the Rajput's is on his journey of destroying their enemy from past 12 years.

Tiya Sood is an independent girl, no filter, strong and straight forward. She is like a slow poison which will melt vihaan from within. The funny part about her is her cuss words dictionary.
The fake relationship, the drama of emotions, the hidden plan and the final stroke, the story will give you so much to hold back, so much to enjoy and answer too many questions from book 1 in the series.

With every new book in the series the story is getting thicker and deeper, new secrets are coming out, many close doors are getting opened and also the characters are opening up beautifully.

Dev's character has been maintained quite well, n i am sure Dev n Avi's story will be the most important part of this series. Dev the biggest villain of the story has a slight shade of sadness and that twist is what I'm very eager to learn.

Sheena and Rajiv's entry is also a very good connection from the sehgal saga and that twist is like cherry on the cake.

Aaryan is up to something very big but he has kept his plan to himself for now, he is like a silent killer you will never know when he will bounce back and destroy everything.

Yet again an excellent work from the author and highly recommended 👍👍

The intense romance thriller series continues from Sapna! Vihaan is the perfect bad boy (but is he really?), brooding and Tiya is full of life! Sparks fly and they end up together. The story flows very naturally towards its conclusion. Vihaan has to make some hard decisions for his love and loved ones but it’s all worth it!
I loved reading about Dubai it’s different places and life. Just transported me to Dubai and amongst our protagonist!
I enjoyed reading the book and the progression of the series. The struggles of Rajpoot siblings is as heartbreaking as their rise from ashes is endearing. Loved the connection with Sehgals (Sheena and Rajiv) I hope someday I get to read their story as well😊
Dev is so attuned to Avi that he actually feels her presence … is it unforgettable one true love or deep hatred? 🤔 but I’m very much interested in the upcoming books in the series to know more. Please release them at the earliest!!!
Also very much eager for next in series for Sehgals!

The story is about Tiya and Vihaan, who wants to get away from her parents matchmaking and she claims that vihaan is her boyfriend.

Vihaan has his own reasons to play along with this fake relationship. He is bound to keep his family safe.

Will Vihaan and tiya be able to keep the relationship fake or will they give in to their feelings for each other ? Why is Vihaan so secretive ?

This is the second book in the bond of brother series and i thoroughly enjoyed reading it. I loved Tiya's character, the way she has no filter in her mouth is hilarious and keeps the humour in the story. The chemistry between the protagonists is sizzling hot . Family and friendship bond is sapna's forte. The language is simple and easy to read. I always enjoy reading sapna's books and I'm eagerly waiting for the third book in the series.

Worth the wait

The plot thickens with every book... And this is the most exciting part pf this series. Every character every scene is so very important for the plot that u don't get to miss even a comma. Every aspect is so clearly presented that one can start to feel the expressions and the emotions of the characters. Dev is the villain but there's a split of a second where a shadow of sadness passes on his face.... A very perfectly penned story. Loved it to the heights.. Very intriguing intense and loving. A well deserved cheers to you sapna... You were are and will always be my favourite.

Fantastic read. Full of dramatic romance and suspense

I love this series. I was waiting for the next book. I loved Vihaan and Tiya's story. I love their attitudes and how they're so spunky and fiery. Together they both are scorching. Their romance is forbidden and so sweet. Amazing narration and characters are so well portrayed. You fall in love with them. The plot is well knitted with romantic, emotional and dramatic content enough to get you read it in one go like you're in a reading race. Do not miss this one. Eagerly waiting for the next one.

Vihaan's story was the one I was rooting for the most, cuz middle-child solidarity \(`0´)/
(Even though he's technically not a middle child, but rather a twin with a 10-minute age difference) However, Vihaan was sandwiched between Avi n Aaryran until Shaurya came around. Soooo...

Back to the book! I thoroughly enjoyed the banter between Vihaan and Tiya, and the fake-dating trope always hits the spot!

However, some of the prose felt repetitive from the first book, but that maybe cuz I've been binge reading this series since the new year began.

Beautiful once again - Spoiler Alert

Spoiler Alert!
I savored this book and didn't want it to end. The story, relationship between the characters and the plot was all top notch.
Jun/Jul and Oct/Nov cannot come fast enough for the rest of the books.
And the surprise element of bringing the Sehgal family also in this world was so beautiful. We were always curious to know about Rajiv from Sehgal saga and we get to experience that in this series. Loved it!

I knew the series will keep on getting better and it did!!!...I love it when the FMCs are strong and don't take shit from anyone and Tiya is perfect here. Vihaan is the same as in the first book and their banter was definitely one of the best thing in the book

The story is gripping, I was hooked towards the ending and the family dynamics just make the things much more interesting. I can't wait to read further.

Keeps you hooked till last page

Match made in heaven! Vihaan and Tiya.

When relationship starts off as a farce but when emotions and feelings get involved, a bad boy turns into a good boy when he meets Tiya.

For Tiya, he is off limits but couldn't resist the bad boy image of Vihaan.

When you meet the right person you know! You rebel for them to be yours and be safe.
