I was born on the wrong side of the law, but I’ve never been the kind of girl to physically fight my way out of anything. I fight my battles with pretty smiles, fluttering lashes, and sweet talk.

But now I have to toughen up and fight for the people who have become my family.

The demon of our past is back to haunt us, and I can’t let her take what's mine.

And Liam Carrillo is mine.

Suddenly, the game is changed and rules no longer apply.

We were burned before with catastrophic consequences. There is no way I'm going to let that happen again.

This time we’re ready.

This time, I’m going to fight.

This time, the demon will not get what she wants.

This is the last and final book in the second Fire Duet and the conclusion of the Fire Series.

Torment & Torched (Duet Part 2)
By @billielustig
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This duet was spicy, chaotic, and completely addictive.
Torment dives deeper into Liam and Imogen’s relationship while also giving us a refresher of how Callie originally came into the brother’s lives. The story picks up after the events of the first duet and carries us through everything that happens leading up to the explosive ending. One thing I loved was getting Liam’s POV of moments we’d already seen before — especially the yacht scenes and everything leading up to Havana. Seeing those moments from his perspective added so much more depth.

Imogen is such a standout FMC. She’s feisty, funny, and completely unapologetic about who she is. Her dynamic with Callie is one of my favorite parts of the series — they feel way more like sisters than cousins, and their conversations feel so real.
Liam has been obsessed with Imogen since the moment he saw her, and even while he’s still carrying the scars from Cristina setting him up in the past, his feelings for Imogen never waver. Their relationship is intense but also surprisingly loyal and steady. They love each other fully and never hold back, which made them so easy to root for.

Then Torched picks up right where things leave off… and the chaos continues. Cristina is still causing problems, manipulating everyone around her and trying to use Imogen as leverage. Just when you think things can’t get more complicated, more players enter the game and secrets start coming out.
Imogen really grows into herself in this book. Her confidence, her loyalty, and the way she stands her ground made some of the final moments incredibly satisfying. Watching her fully embrace who she is — and what she’s willing to do for the people she loves — was the perfect payoff.
By the end, everything finally comes together. Justice is served, the Carrillo brothers shift into a new chapter of life, and everyone gets the future they’ve been fighting for. A perfect wrap up for new beginnings.

Tropes:
• Mafia romance
• Love at first sight
• Obsessed MMC
• Found family
• Strong FMC
• Touch her and you die
• HEA

This is book four in The Fire series and it concludes Liam and Imogen's story and omg it is definitely a must read and I am so sad to see this amazing series reach it's final book but what an ending it was. Liam finds himself in a difficult situation as in front of him is the woman that he absolutely hates with everything that he has Cristina holding the woman that holds his heart in her hands and who he loves with everything in side him at gunpoint and he needs to find a solution where he gets Imogen to safety while destroying and taking apart Cristina and everything that she stands for as she is pure evil and manipulating but at the moment Liam will have to play her at her own game and get the upper hand to find out what she is up to and what she wants. This book takes you on a roller coaster ride of emotions but you still find yourself unable to put it down as it has twists and turns along the way that you definitely didn't see coming but should expect from Billie Lustig who is an amazing author and writer and she certainly knows how to keep her reader's attention while having you on the edge of your seat while holding your breath wondering what would happen next and what the outcome would be for them all. I absolutely loved Liam and Imogen (Gen) together as they have passion, fire, great, strong and intense chemistry, dedication and true love for each other and nothing and no one will ever stand in there way of what they have and want and how Imogen's strength grows in this book was an amazing thing to see and absolutely explosive. I definitely recommend you read this series and I can't wait to read what Billie Lustig writes next as her book's just gets better and better with each one written and worth reading.

I just closed out the final pages of Torched by Billie Lustig, and I am still trying to catch my breath. Following up on that brutal cliffhanger in Tormented was never going to be easy, but Lustig managed to deliver a conclusion that felt both blistering and incredibly satisfying. Seeing this story wrap up like this was exactly the high-octane ending these characters deserved.

What moved me the most in this installment was Imogen’s evolution. We first met her as the "bouncy" cousin, but seeing her transition into a powerhouse who refuses to be a pawn in the mafia’s game was the highlight of the duet for me. She truly found her mojo in this book, proving she was the only person capable of navigating the wreckage of Liam’s past alongside him. Speaking of the past, the addition of Cristina’s perspective was a stroke of genius. It added to a layer of psychological tension I did not expect, and seeing the "why" behind her betrayal made the eventual confrontation so much more impactful. She is a character you will absolutely love to hate.

The chemistry is as intense as ever, and while the action is high stakes, the heart of this book is really the growth of these characters. It successfully ties up the loose ends of the Carrillo legacy while keeping that dark, Grumpy x Sunshine energy alive. Seeing Kane and Callie again felt like a homecoming, but it never overshadowed the fact that this was Liam and Imogen’s moment to shine. It is spicy, chaotic, and the kind of series that will stay with me for a long time. I am sad the journey is over, but I could not be happier with where we ended up.

A massive thank you to Billie Lustig and Whimsy Words PR for the honor of reading this ARC!

Torched by Billie Lustig

The conclusion to Liam and Imogen’s story, picking up the scorched remains of their relationship and forcing them through a final, grueling trial. Following the emotional cliffhanger of Tormented, this installment shifts away from the overlap with Callie and Kane’s timeline to focus entirely on the fallout of Liam’s choices and Imogen’s refusal to be a pawn. The road to redemption is paved with genuine consequence rather than easy forgiveness. The added POV of Christina adds an additional layer that helps expand the world further and understand the true evil of her character.

The narrative shines brightest when exploring the shifting power dynamics between the two leads. While the action remains high-stakes, the true engine of this book is the psychological evolution of its main characters. The cameos from the original couple serve as a grounding force, reminding the reader of the broader world, but they never overshadow the central conflict. Watching Liam and Imogen navigate the debris of their shared secrets is both exhausting and exhilarating. By the time the final pages turn, Lustig has successfully transformed them from the "sidekick" figures of the first two books into a powerhouse duo that commands their own legacy.

Final Verdict
Torched is a blistering finale that provides the closure Liam and Imogen fans have been craving. It is a story of growth and hard-won peace, proving that even characters forged in fire can find a way to survive the burn. Lustig cements her ability to write "broken" characters who find strength not just in each other, but in their own resilience.

Books 4 in the Fire Series

Liam is love sick puppy for Gen. A puppy wrapped in sin and violence with a dirty mouth; but a puppy all the same. One who is so soft and sweet for his girl, except when he's railing her on every surface he can find, then he doesn't hold back. I loved reading these two, their story felt light and full of healing and after reading books 1&2 to see this side of Liam was so unexpected.

Imogen is sunshine in human form and exactly what Liam deserved after everything with Christina. Gen is the girl who is always smiling that everyone underestimates and who doubts themselves most of all. Liam steps up and provides his unwavering support and challenges Imogen to see herself the way he sees. That confidence is like a match to kindling and there's no stopping our FMC once she gets going, she's a total badass who just needed a bit of encouragement to embrace the fighter that lives under her skin.

The more I read of this series the more protective I felt of the Carrillo family, I've become so attaches to these characters.

The moment Jeremy lost it!! Yes! Thank you Jer for stepping up and doing what needed to be done. I would love Jeremy's story at some point, even if it was a novella, he's such an integral part of their family.

I cannot wait to start of the Wolves of Boston series and see how these books crossover.

Tormented and Torched - The Carrillo Brothers Duet 2 by Billie Lustig

Book 4 - Torched

"You're the sunshine I wake up for"

We continue the duet with the return of Liam's previous love interest Cristina, and enter into a high stake game of forced proximity.

Imogen continues to develop and grow through this book and her reaction to Cristina's return felt authentic. Watching her overcome her inner turmoil and own her own self worth was great. Liam's character remained strong and apart form a few dubious choices remains loyal and loving to Imogen.

Cristina is such a great character to hate!
It clear that she did not in fact have feelings for Liam and this was all emotional manipulation.

This book is a continuation of the storyline and is very character driven with alot less action than duet 1. The character development is really great and it felt like a natuwla ending to the Carillo brothers series.

Tropes
- Grumpy x Sunshine
- Mafia Romance
- Love Triangle

Highlights

- Multi POV
- FMC gets her mojo

Thoughts
- Given the premise of the end of the last duet, I didn't think the demands Cristina gave necessary matched up to the Carillo brothers, but enjoyed the forced proximity spin.

Overall rating: 4/5

Oh my god. Billie has done it once again (I know I say this always but she is just incredible). She had me gasping and giggling all at the same time. I cannot get over how incredible Imogen and Liam's love story is.

This is the fourth book of the Fire series and the second for Liam and Imogen story and I loved how we got to see a situation that impacted them more directly.

Follow the journey of trust and loyalty as Imogen and Liam are faced with a situation that causes some issues for their relationship .... but don't fret, they have a very beautiful ending.

I really love that Billie incorporates the past and the present to give more background into why certain aspects of a character are shown. It gives it more depth and allows for us as readers to really dive into all aspects of a previous relationship as it is crucial to the story line.

Liam and Imogen are so special and so sweet together. I loved getting to be apart of Imogen finding out who she is and living out her dreams. Liam is so supportive and sweet and treats Imogen like a queen.

You must read this absolute beauty of a book!! Billie is seriously the best.

Torched continues the story (Tormented) in a way that maintained the fast paced momentum established in Tormented. The characters are still intriguing and I felt invested in what would happen next throughout the entire story. I appreciated the Spanish representation in this one as well. I also loved the settings throughout the duet. The mix of locations—from places like Cuba to Boston made the story feel immersive and sometimes even relatable.
The brother is still one of my favorite characters. He adds depth and some memorable moments throughout the story. I would suggest reading Tormented before Torched. Although it could easily be a standalone, reading Tormented added value.
Overall, Torched is a great continuation that kept me engaged. I ended up giving it a half star less than Tormented because I felt like the ending wrapped up a bit quicker than I would have liked. I found myself wanting a more... oomph? in the final moments.

(ARC REVIEW)
Ms. Lustig that was one hell of a way to end this series. I will miss these two brothers and their ladies. As reviews ask for our honest opinions here is mine I absolutely loved this book and the ending but the third point of view threw me off. It took me a minute to catch up. For this particular book, it was needed. It just caught me off guard and at first, I struggled. The book ended up being mainly focused on Liam and Imogen. I adored Imogen that girl and her humor was great. Then when she got a backbone wow she was something to admire. Liam sometimes made me want to shake him for the things he did. What made it all better was how hard he loved Imogen. These two evened each other out and I loved it. I was sad when the story ended because it was the end of the series but I can't wait to see what Ms. Lustig brings us next.

Torched was an awesome conclusion to an awesome duet! This book has left me with SO to think about. I adored Imogen's character development more than anything. She is so fun to read about and I'm definitely going to miss this duet. Her relationship with Liam is ADORABLE. I love how he always puts her first no matter what. Even when faced with the worst situations, Liam and Imogen always find their way to each other. Cristina, however, ANNOYED my soul; Billie did an amazing job of writing this duet and I loved seeing everything play out. I also loved that we got to read more about Kane and Callie in this duet; reading about the two brothers and the different dynamics they had with their partners was amazing to read about. Thank you Billie Lustig and Whimsy Words PR for providing me with a copy to review!

Well I have to say Book 3 and 4 of the Carrillo brothers duet were just as good as 1 and 2.
Tormented and Torched follow Liam Carrillo. In Tormented (book 3) the storyline runs adjacent to Book 1 and 2 in timeline but from Liams point of view and with some extra POV from his ex.
I really enjoyed that my whole view of Liam changed, the untouchable man isn't all who he seems, and when Imogen is in the picture he can see no one else.
The Carillo/ Reyes feud comes to a close in Torched and wow it is so so good!
The pacing of all 4 novels is perfect and the growing love you end up having for the two couples is testimount to how well the author writes them, their dialogue and there relationships. T & T are not as dark as Callous and Combust but are still really good mafia romances and keep you hooked.

ARC REVIEW

The last book about the Carrillo brothers and the round up of the drama and action filled plot that took you round a few bends.
Liam and Gen’s relationship continues to develop, with a few bumps in the road due to a manipulative ex, but Liam stops at nothing to prove his feelings. They’re in a position where they’ve no choice but to host their enemy but after a shaky start they tag team to prove that they can’t be separated. This one felt more of a romance and the action/plot felt a little less here. I wasn’t as captivated or drawn in with previous books and at times was slightly slow. Similar in the sense of flashbacks really stunted the natural flow of the book. It just didn’t draw me in enough to keep me hooked.
That being said the character and relationship development was really enjoyable to see in this one and Liam is a softy in disguise.

Thank you to the author and WhimsyWordsPR for this ARC! 🧡

Right off the bat, I knew I was going to enjoy Torched more than Tormented, and I definitely loved seeing how the story continued! Ughhh, the drama in this one!! Wow! I was not expecting to get Cristina's POV. However, it does make sense and added to the backstory of what really went down between her and Liam. Between that, the spice, and the plot twists?? 10/10!

While I heavily enjoyed Liam and Imogen's story, Callie and Kane remain my favorite Carrillo couple. 👀 Reading their stories has been so much fun, and I'm kinda sad that it's now over. I will 100% be checking out more from this author when I have the time! I would love to dive into the Boston Wolfe series next. 🔥

I can’t remember the last time a character made me feel as violent as Christina has in this book. Who is Christina you may ask? Only the most selfish, evil, two faced, vindictive hag ever! In case it wasn’t clear, I hate that chick. She got the ending she deserved. Kind of. Now Liam. That guy took me by surprise. I truly wasn’t expecting him to be the sweet guy he is, and I love him. We get Imogen in all her bada$$ glory, that chick really showed up in this book. Liam and Imogen together are complete perfection. This book gives us all the action, drama, suspense, and steam you could need. Billie never disappoints with a perfect read!

Just finished the Tormented and Touched duet being released as a duet. It was the conclusion to the Carillo story from first 2 books. Love all the action with Liam and Imogen but keeping Kane and Callie front of the story too. We need Jeremy to find someone now. All the mafia action and sex kept me reading all day to finish it tonight. Love there is 50/50 blend of plot and sex. I do need Christina to ‘em I didn’t care for that part of book where it backtracked to their story. Overall a great mafia romance. I did receive this as an advanced readers copy and am voluntarily providing this review.

Scene 2. What the heck is going to happen? I was intrigued, shocked, and surprised. Okay, so everything wasn’t a surprise but there are some in this part of the story. I loved that we got Christina’s perspective. The real highlight of the second half of the story is Imogen’s coming into her badass self. I thought she really stepped up and did a fantastic job of asserting. I still have a few questions and wondering where some of the storylines might end up. Hmmm….

What a great end to this series. I'm sad to be leaving this world behind.
Liam and Gen are actual soulmates. They are so beautiful together. She's his queen and will do anything for her. The love these two have is all-consuming and a joy to read.
Seeing Liam love again was a pleasure.
Another great book with a few twists chucked in there!
Now...Cristina! I'm shocked that I like her and her ways. As she's a straight-up bitch. But the chemistry she has with a certain is off the charts. I'm intrigued 🤔

What an ending to The Fire Series! I wasn't sure how this book would go especially with how Tormented finished but it was so good!

I was really good being able to see things from not only from Liam and Imogen but also Christina in the past. It was eye opening to see how things actually played out.

Imogen is still just as fierce and strong, she really came into herself and it was so good to see. Liam is a force to reckoned with, especially when his brother is involved.

I was kept guessing how things would go throughout the book and it was worth it in the end. Also Jeremy towards the end 😳😍

Liam and Imogen that instant spark and connection. They both know what they want and go after it and claim each other. Danger, spice adventure and an old enemy from the past. That haunts them both . They come together and handle it. They find the happiness they both deserve in each other. She helps Liam deal with the anger and hurt from the past and realize what love really is., and Liam helps her to see she is stronger then she thinks Absolutely loved this book as well! Received this book as an ARC read and these are my honest thoughts and views.

I was kindly sent Tormented & Torched to review as part of its relaunch. This is second Carillo Brothers duet, this time we get Liam and Imogen’s story.

Torched is the second book and unfortunately the least favourite of the series. I didn’t enjoy the flashbacks to Christina and Liam, I didn’t feel it was needed. I would have preferred more of Callie and Kane if I’m honest.
I still can’t warm to Liam but I am glad Imogen gets a happy ending (even if I don’t completely agree with her choice of business - but that’s me)

This one just wasn’t for me 😔

The end of an era! Billie gave us two incredible couples in the Fire series. It was the first book I read from her and I am so proud of what she has achieved so far. As always, her mafia books are filled with thrilling adventures, broody crime lords, luxurious yachts, hilarious banter and off the chart hot sex scenes. Liam and Gen are something else but Kane and Callie would always be my favourite. Full review to come!

The final installment in the Fire Series 🔥

I was lucky enough to get an ARC of this on @booksprout

I'd been patiently waiting for this since finishing Tormented & it didn't disappoint!

Picking up from where we left off with Gen finding Cristina in her room we follow the hunt for the missing diamond.....

Another fast paced read, I read 80% of this in 1 sitting.

Loved every minute, I smiled, I chuckled & my eyes definitely bulged in places.

What a great ending to The Fire Series!
Imogen is strong and fierce and has come into her own.
Liam is an absolute force of his own.
Ms. Lustig gives not only the pasts of Liam and Imogen.
But Christiana as well.
And I still think she’s a witch. But with the letter B replaced with the w.
An exciting pager turner of a story.
And an incredible series coming to an end with a dynamic explosive book!

I've been seriously invested in this series so I'm a little devo that this is the final instalment... although Billie Lustig has crafted a great ending to Liam & Gen's love story. Just know that all the twists and turns, losses and gains, surprises and moments of devastation all result in a satisfying ending. Great read.

I have absolutely adored the Carrillo brothers series and I am going to miss them!

This book did not disappoint. I was a little apprehensive as I wasn’t sure what more could come from the Carrillo’s but this book is very cleverly written.

I really enjoyed Liam and Christine’s POV and I was still doubting myself throughout as to what would happen next. Absolutely fantastic ending to this magnificent series.

The Carrillo brothers will be living rent free in my head for a long time!

What a fantastic end to this series!

In this book, we get more of the background between Liam and Cristina with her POV too.

Imogen really shows how much of a warrior she is.
I love how Liam treats her like an absolute queen and wants her to become the best version of herself.

The situation that they are presented with is difficult, but their relationship grows from the trust and loyalty needed to get through it.

As always, there's plenty of action and spice in Billie's stories, and this one does not disappoint ❤️

The final book in the Carrillo Brothers series. Torched picks up right where Tormented finished. We get the POV from Liam and Imogen and we also get back story and a POV from Cristina.
Throughout both Tormented and Torched we learn what happened between Liam and Cristina and see his character development past this.
I enjoyed the conclusion to the series.
