A short read cozy filled with mystery, romance, and a touch of magic. This is the story of Paul Madison PI, an idealistic cop turned private investigator. He will not rest until he figures out the real reason so many “accidents” are happening in his neighborhood. To his way of thinking these “accidents” are too coincidental and need to be taken seriously.

Thank you so much for reading my profile and happy reading!
This is a prequel to the Doxie mysteries, as I am to understand it. This is my first book by this author so I cannot say if these novels as a prequel, do any justice to the books they follow.
I will say, I quite enjoyed this little mystery. I found it good clean mystery with a splash of fun. These aren’t the scary by any means, which can be fun to sprinkle in to break up the heavier reads (which is what I am doing). These would be great all on their own, if you just love this type of genre.
This kindle ebook novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account book one of five
He is growing up in a Chicago neighborhood. He wants to be a police officer. He goes in the army and returned from Vietnam. He becomes a police officer then is shot in the leg. He becomes a PI Detective and falls in love 😘.
I would recommend this series and author to readers of romantic family and friends relationship mystery novels 🐕😃 2025 😚😉
I loved the cover! Makes you just want to read it!
I turned the pages at break neck speed after being lured in right from page 1.
I liked that the author began the story waaay back when our main character was only in a little boy.
Young Paul was in awe of his grandfather a veteran police officer. Paul loved to listen to his grandfathers stories about being a police officer.
Fast forwarding a few years and a few chapters later young Paul has grown up and becomes a police officer just like his grandfather.
And now Paul is on quest. Some killed his grandfather and Paul knows who is behind his execution and the other crime afflicting thier little burb.
With the help of the M.E. that Paul just happens to have a romantic relationship with they uncover clues and watch each other's backs to bring justice to their little world.
Paul has the help of his neighbors dog that sadly meets his maker. But this is fiction there's something about that dog.
As an author myself, I know how difficult it is to create an engaging story, believable characters and a compelling plot. And I have great respect for anyone who makes the attempt.
Having said that, I really struggled with 'Paul Madison P.I.' I found the characters one-dimensional and the dialogue really 'on the nose' and unbelievable. To have characters using words like "whippersnapper" and "hanky-panky" made it hard to get into the story, and I didn't make it all the way through.
PMPI would be a good way to while away a few hours for the less-demanding reader, but it's unfortunately a 'pass' from me.
This is an introduction to newly-minted PI Paul Madison ... Private Investigator, for those that didn't know.
His first case is an elderly woman with her dog in her arms, wanting to have him find and punish the person stealing her morning paper each day. This may seem mundane, but a guy's gotta start someplace.
While his business grows with cheating husbands, etc., Paul takes on a rather personal crusade that quickly becomes dangerous to him and those around him. Will he be able to get through this turmoil alive ... only time will tell.
This was a short read about a young man in Chicago in the 1970s. He grew up with his grandfather who was a cop and he wanted to do the same. He enlisted went to war, came back and became a cop. Then a Private Investigator protected by a rather unique spirit guide. A family of pizza baking mobsters who will stop at nothing to defend their criminal empire. It was easy to read, short, only 3 stars as it felt a little flat for me.
Paul Madison decides at a young age he wanted to be a policeman just like his grandfather his mother prays he changes his mind. After time in the Army in Vietnam he joins the police force and after he's shot he becomes a detective. He knows the mob is behind his grandfather's death and his partner he becomes determined t DXo catch the rodeo family.
This short intro to the series is an excellent opener. Learning the background and the setting for Paul and Kate, Max's history and details of the past makes these characters come to life. As usual, Sharon Michaels does wonderful writing and makes us care. Highly Recommended.
oh my what a fun read! I cannot wait for the next book! Love the characters, love the cover, just love it all! This is the beginning of a wonderful series! A must must read!!
Paul Madison is a quick and interesting read. You keep turning the pages to see what takes place between Paul and Dr O'Brien, and the Rossi connection. Enjoy!
Too choppy and the buildup was all for nothing. I get that this is the start of the series, but there is no resolution of any kind. Overall a boring waste of time.
This is a fun, short read. The setting of Chicago with the plot revolving around the Mob and pizza drew me in and I was quickly turning the pages. Add in the likable Paul Madison PI and his love interest the beautiful, intelligent Dr. Kathleen O'Brien and you have the perfect cozy mystery. Can't wait for the next in the series.
I love this story about a young man who wants to do wonderful things for Chicago as a police officer. Due to an accident he became a P.I. He continued to show how much he cared about his community. He did not let anything stand in his way.
