In the aftermath of the Rufarven withdrawal from Confederation space, the dying Lepodred ambassador aboard their ship gifted Jared with his memories. Jared was injured in the process, but now, thirty days later, is ‘healed’ enough to go back to work.
On his first venture back into the mystery, Jared is swept to the Rufarven Emperor’s court, where he discovers what he had already suspected, the emperor is a master seer. As they talk, the emperor reveals the existence of another people, the Calamite, who are about to invade Lepodred space.
Fearing that the Calamite will take over the entire sector, Emperor Sanrufar proposes an alliance with the Confederation. The catch? Jared must take control of the Confederation first.
Fasten your seat belt and get ready for the ride as Jared and his team take on the Lepodred, the Calamite, and the Confederation political machine.

Another juvenile, anti-hero but fun late night read.
I’d be embarrassed for my fiends to know I read this sort of stuff. But I do and this was pretty fun stuff. A future with God replaced by the Mystery is depressing but hey, it’s fiction!
I couldn’t put them down I’m so grateful the whole series is available. I was worried after I finished the first book that there were no more. Than I found the rest and I’m sure my wife wishes I hadn’t. Enjoy!
I’ve been reading this series from the beginning and the characters and inventive actions are fabulous and inspiring. I’m looking forward to more from D.W. Cornell.
This storyline was not as clearly defined as the previous installments, and while I managed to complete the book, it was not as rewarding as anticipated.
