The last 40% of the book is where most of the story was. I feel like we with we’re getting a lot of Labria and Lordes then we had to introduce the mob ties so their relationship became more background.
I wasn’t a fan of the first sex scene it was starting to border or assault or at least a little manipulation (which he acknowledges that he’s glad he didn’t end up with a case). There were also a decent amount of grammatical errors.
I think the overall idea was interesting, it just needed to blend together more. You may enjoy this more than me though!
I tried to get through this book but there were way too many grammatical errors. I can take a misspelled word here and there, but these were making the story not make sense. I’ll keep it on my to be read list for now and hopefully Ms. Lace will get a better editor. Overall, the story was interesting which is why I kept trying. But I was getting a headache so had to stop. So Ms. Lace if you really do read your reviews, please take this into consideration. I want to know what happens with the detective. And to read the next book in the series.
This isn't a dark romance. Lordes found'em, f'ed-em and he sent them on their way. He was generous when he sent them away. However, Lordes did not have any of the elements that made me question my morals, sanity, or whether or not I should be reading this book.
I was uncertain about the relationship between Lordes and Labria. LaBria wanted to please Lordes and vice versus. It became annoying how I didn't think this was a dark romance. LaBria allowed the smallest thing to escalate in her mind.
This story appears to be the introduction to the mafia family relationship between Lordes and Nicco. The story begins to unfold as it ends. I should have known it was going to be a cliffhanger because of how Lordes reacted to his mafia friend and kept making references to him being a good guy. Labria was just along for the ride. She was clueless about most of Lordes' side activities. Her main concern was other women. I hoped that LaBria was Lordes' savior when trouble came knocking at his door.
I'd still recommend it. I think it is necessary to read this book if one is interested in reading the second book in the series.
ummm LaBria and her sister 🤔I understand looking out for your sister but LaBria’s sister was over the top for no reason. The incident with the gun, like LaBria why run to your sister and not just open your mouth and communicate like an adult. She should have been asking him questions and getting to know Lordes, she seemed a bit naive for a grown woman. For Lordes to be smart he is dumb at the same time very naive as well they are a perfect match smh 😂 the situation with the cop I started seeing it after the first incident. I am looking forward to reading Nicco’s story and seeing what’s next, I want more action if its a mafia book.
I liked how this book started and all of that, but I felt it was too short.
I enjoyed this, but I felt the romance element was not given the only part of it that was dark was the main character that is the MMC you know, engaging in some criminal activity towards the end of the book, but outside of that there was nothing dark in this that we could call as dark romance because when it is dark romance, it has to be connected to the romance happening, which brings me to the romance happening. It wasn’t well explored. I felt this was too short
The story was interesting and has potential but too many typos. And the typos and misplaced words got so bad towards the end. It will help if these books are proofed and edited. After expending energy and time to write an interesting story I would think it important to have it proofread.
This story drew me in immediately I thought it was the usual wild playboy story. Boy was I wrong. As the saying goes, it got more and more curious as the story progressed. Lord was an interesting character, obviously a chameleon. The end of book one is just the beginning of the rollercoaster ride. A captivating read.
I've read books from this author in the past and I can't remember as many typo's and unnecessarily added words in previous works. This could turn into a great series with some major editing going forward. I love real alpha men, but I don't think its "alpha" killing women and children.
I am not sure how this book was a Mafia story, was it because his friend/half brother was the next in line to become the Don. There was a lot of typo’s and misplaced word’s the action came at the last 3 chapter the last chapter was when you find out the connection between Lord and Nicco. I will read Nicco’s book
I liked reading about Labria and Lord. They had a grown up relationship. No lies. No playing games. Just grown man and woman relationship. I just wish there was more to tell. The relationship got pushed to the side for the drama with Lauren and Nicco. I will read book 2 and would recommend this book.
OMG what a book! I loved Lordes’s character. He was a good guy put in a bad situation by a former fling, a dirty cop. He had no other choice than to ask his ‘brother’ for help, relief, from this situation…especially when this cop was talking about harming the two women that he loved more than his life or his wealth. I can’t wait to read the next book!
3.5 stars I’m always left wanting more and it’s a “to be continued”. It was an okay ready but it was filled with a ton of grammatical errors. This is something that has been pointed out numerous times by numerous readers but I think we just have to get used to this being the standard with this author.
Interesting name for an interesting man and a favor requested is sometimes a debt owed. Although I was able to follow the story, I was surprised by the number of grammatical errors the book had, this author always puts out good work. I look forward to reading the next book.
I was completely enthralled until the ending!!! I need more than that! I know the second installment is due but I want Lordes and Labria’s point of view. I want the rest of the story!! Overall, good read!!
So totally what's the expecting this book to be as great as it turned out to be. Love all the characters and the storyline is amazing Can't wait for book 2. Its a must read for anyone interested in mob business and romancr .
This book is the 💣 all of you out there that like villains, action, romance, steam, hello this book has it. Part 2 comes out June 29th, I can't wait. You want a true page turner this is it.
I thought this would be a lot darker but it did keep me reading. Can't wait for the next book actually. I want to see how things turn out with Nicco and if he knew the truth about Lordes.
This was a great read, once you get started I could not put it down! A mystery it is! Love and hate! Lords surprised me, playboy yes, but only that! Nice guy until..... You will not b disappointed!
I loved everything thing about this book. The storyline and characters were awesome. I definitely will recommend this book to friends and family. I gave this book 5 stars because it was was well written and kept my interest.
This isn't my first book from Lolah Lace so I already knew that it would be good. Lordes or Lord is rich, good looking and a womanizer. But he met his match with Bria and now he would do anything to keep her!
I enjoyed reading this Broccoli Mafiosa book 1. Although it read more like a billionaire romance than a mafia one. At least to the end. Then it felt more like a mafia theme.
Really disliked this book. Probably one of the worst mafia books I’ve read. He fucks a ton of women and one women decided to frame him and then his Mafia friend gets involved to help him. Don’t recommend reading.
It was a change for me because I usually read books with more of the female POV. This was mostly Male POV but it was good and I enjoyed it. I would recommend it.
