MEL
Five more months and then I graduate and am getting the hell out of Seattle. I was looking forward to a future here... but everything changed when my bestie, Bee, got a brain transplant along with her engagement ring. At least my remaining time is looking more interesting. A yummy distraction in the form of Pete Rampwood is just what the doctor ordered. I'm going to have my fun, graduate, and put this place in my rearview mirror.

PETE
I never expected a chance encounter at an alumni event to do anything other than provide a distraction. Spontaneous and bubbly have never interested me much, so I have no idea why I can't stop thinking about them now. Mel Larch is a diversion, nothing more. She can never be anything more. So why the hell does it feel so wrong to think about walking away?

Everyone has a type, but when someone comes along and blows all of your expectations out of the water, the only option is to open your heart and take a leap of faith. You might even find the love of your life. Just like that.

This was such a short and sweet adorable + steamy book. I enjoyed myself a lot while reading. I happen to be a fan of dual POV too so this book was almost perfect for me. 😊 There's no unnecessary chapters and the book in general focuses on the relationship progression of Pete and Mel.

Summary ; A very rich man's (Pete) car gets clamped in the snow where he had just met a girl called Mel who he didn't know at the time would be his future love. They get to know each other in very intimate ways and finally fall in love (insta love but I'm not complaining )

That's it. That's the plot 😭❤ It's literally all Mel and Pete.

Oh and it ends with Mel walking down the aisle wearing underwear that Pete told her to wear and it has a vibrator inside it. Yes, you heard me right. Mel walks down the aisle to finally get married and her husband has a remote control for the vibrator. 😳😳

I genuinely did like this book a lot. It wasn't the best in terms of an actual love story and character-building and it could work on some aspects. It wasn't the best read but it still was satisfying and enjoyable. Pete and 'Tinkerbell' = constant companions 💘 (foreshadowing 😩)

Pete and Mel meet at an alumni event. Pete is a Rampwood, one of the richest families in the greater Seattle area. Mel is a hostess, there to fluff up the egos of the men that usually attend these events. Neither of them expects to leave with someone, but when Mel gets Pete out of a ticket, the least he can do is give her a ride home. He will soon find out what kind of wild ride to expect when Mel is around. From breaking and entering to skinny dipping, Mel lives life in a carefree fashion that continually shocks Pete into wanting to both punish and make love to her.

Charming and surprising, I enjoyed this read. A romance novel that doesn’t lose any plot to its spice level. If you like Maya Banks and Sylvia Day, you will want to read K.S. Ellis!

A disappointing follow up to Falling for You. The book itself was a decent read, but of course not without its flaws. Being a novella I guess the fast moving romance between Pete and Mel wasn't a surprise. However, given the casual nature of their initial relationship, the transition from hookup to love felt forced and as a result the chemistry between characters suffered severely.

Mel was...something. Painfully insistent on not being a damsel-in-distress and yet ends up being exactly that all because she didn't like being told what to do. I wouldn't have had an issue with her bullheaded and immature personality had she not blatantly advertised herself as a smart and independent woman and then followed that up with such a stupid move like joining a company she's been warned against. She ended up being the very type of person she described and disliked in the beginning of the story. She was so quick to judge her "best friend's" choices and yet she ended up in the exact same position: Dependent on a rich man to save her from obscurity and poverty. It's a novella but not even a hint of character growth is supremely disappointing.

At least in the first book of this series, Thelma and Jimmy's characters are established in their respective careers. Mel just gave off "oh no I couldn't...but if you insist" gold digging energy.
