I didn't plan to marry a reclusive heiress. Lucky for me, I find myself attracted to my beautiful new bride. Our arranged marriage connects two powerful companies. That we’re compatible between the sheets is a bonus, but I didn’t bargain on her ex showing up at the wedding reception uninvited.
That pushed me right over the edge.
I protect what’s mine, and Charlotte is now mine, whether she likes it or not. Our honeymoon is a disaster in paradise. I’m angry. She’s resentful. All those swirling emotions explode in the most physical ways.
But even as I'm drawn closer to my new wife, there’s still a threat looming out there. Seamus McTiernan is determined to destroy what we’ve created.
I won’t let anything tear us apart.
He has no idea who he’s dealing with. I will end him.
Watch me.
Welcome to the Midnight Dynasty... The warring Morelli and Constantine families have enough bad blood to fill an ocean, and their brand new stories will be told by your favorite dangerous romance authors.
WARNING: This book is intended for readers eighteen years old and over. It contains material that some readers could find disturbing. Enter at your own risk...
I was expecting more. With Seamus showing up in Perry and Charlotte's weeding, I wanted drama, blood, fight! So many threats, but no really action.
I like the story, the plot could be more... It brings the usual characters that I like, so it's easy to like this books for that. Monica Murphy has one problem, 90% of the story revolves around sex, and it's too much.
This is their honeymoon. With their ups and downs. I was always expecting Seamus to appear in Mexico, or doing something to shake a bit of the story. But no, only a lot of sex...
They're falling for each other, but none admits that. When the honeymoon ends, they have to face the real world. I thought Perry a bit immature.
When Seamus, finally appears and make a move (at last), the things warm up. This ends with a cliffhanger. Charlotte being kidnapped. I thought Monica not even tried to do a good book, she took for granted the plot, the characters that already grew up on us. She just put Perry and Charlotte having sex. It worked, for me, but not for that motive. For the characters and information that brought me closer to the Midnight Dynasty universe. To be honest, this one, if I wasn't so deep in this universe, I would probably give a 3,9/4,2 (tops) stars.
-What would it be like, to be loved by Perry Constantine? To know that he’s loyal to you no matter what. If I’m lucky, maybe I’ll know someday.
Perry Constantine and Charlotte Lancaster have agreed to an arranged marriage to connect their two ruthless, powerful families. He’s the second son and favorite child in his family, and she’s the reclusive heiress who feels invisible. They have spent the last six weeks planning their wedding while getting to know one another. They are keeping up appearances and playing a role. Two people who started out as strangers are putting on a show for New York society. What started as a fake relationship is suddenly feeling all too real and confusing. They share an undeniable attraction, and a honeymoon in paradise may be more than either can handle. The Lancaster and Constantine’s are now united, but not everyone is happy about it. Rival families threaten to tear them apart and disrupt what they’re building personally and professionally. Perry is the kind Constantine, but don’t cross him. Loyalty and family are everything to him. When the newlyweds start to actually like each other things turn complicated. It they gave their marriage a real chance could they end up with the whole fairytale?
The Ruthless Groom by Monica Murphy is the second book in her Wedded Bliss series. It’s an arranged marriage romance that is part of the Midnight Dynasty world. It’s an intriguing, sexy story full of drama, angst, and explosive chemistry. I adore Perry and am completely addicted to these characters and this world. I can’t wait for the third book in the trilogy! I need more!!! :))
What began as a modern day arranged marriage between two powerful families has evolved from a simple alliance to a companionable union with undeniable chemistry bubbling just below the surface.
Yet when their tentative truce is rattled by an oddly-timed visit by Charlotte’s ex-lover, Seamus McTiernan, we see a different, more dominant, oft cruel side of Perry earning him the title of The Ruthless Groom.
Book two of the Wedded Bliss trilogy brings us the marriage and honeymoon of Perry and Charlotte Constantine. We have ups, downs, and drama in spades. While Charlotte shows more of her tenacity in this installment, she is still vulnerable to Perry’s charm.
I’m anxious for The Reckless Union and can’t wait to see if Perry gives good grovel.
This woman is going to completely undo me before this little honeymoon is through. I know it.
After the slow burn that was The Reluctant Bride, this one came out swinging with the spice, and I was HERE FOR IT.
This installment of the trilogy brought us the marriage and honeymoon with a splash of drama. After the cliffhanger in book one, we knew where this one would head with the reintroduction of Seamus. And frankly, I wasn't sure how I felt about it for a good chunk. It brought out the sulky, distrustful, man child in him and I spent a good part of the book wanting to jock punch the man. But at the same time, I understood his mistrust. He's known his bride for all of a hot minute, and suddenly her past comes back swinging hard right on their wedding day.
Charlotte showed snippets of her backbone, which seemed to melt under Perry's sexual charm. And frankly, I can't judge her for it. Ha! The man is potent and I seriously don't blame her for getting pleasure where she can find it in this arranged marriage of theirs. She's finding herself falling for her new husband, and her husband can't seem to trust a word she says. As much as this dynamic frustrated me, I couldn't get enough of it either. I had a love hate relationship with the two of them and I couldn't stop reading.
I seriously can't wait to see how this concludes and hoping for some groveling and Perry eating a bit of crow. Bring it on!

What would it be like, to be loved by Perry Constantine? To know that he’s loyal to you no matter what.
I feel like this story could have been one book. I realize the third one isn’t out, but there’s so much inner monologue that’s repeated in this book and the first that I can only assume the same will happen in book three, and if I’m right then all that taken out would fit nicely in one book. The plot is a little bit… stilted maybe? That said, this was still entertaining as hell to me 😂 I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with the possessive/protective husband when it’s an arranged marriage. I just love when it’s something neither party wants, but they end up falling anyway. It just hits right and this series serves that well so far. I honestly just wish it wasn’t so repetitive and got to the point or explored a plot outside of their feelings, or lack thereof, more often. ANYWAY. If you were sad the first book didn’t have spice, this one will definitely make up for that. The ending… it’s going to make you beyond ready for book three, but in my opinion it’s worth it.
I enjoyed the first book and was looking forward to reading this one after the last one left off at a cliffhanger. I loved this new side of Perry, though I missed his usual jolly self. Charlotte & Perry definitely have a sizzling chemistry and that shined bright in this book. This novella focused more on their marriage, most of it is spent on their honeymoon and ofcourse the smut was outstanding. It was a great second installment to the series because I could actually feel the angst between them. But they have to figure out to trust each other and act as a team to make their marriage work. Overall, I'm loving this series and I can't wait to continue especially after this book too left me hanging by ending in a much more startling cliffhanger.
Oh how I loved these two! Monica Murphy is easily one of my top authors. She never ceases to amaze me. All of her characters are uniquely their own. You will never find another like them. Perry and Charlotte are that for me.
Seeing their feelings grow, was my favorite part of this story. Yes there were some points where I wanted to shake Perry, and have him see the way Charlotte is feeling and to believe her! They are one of my top favorite couples in the midnight dynasty world and I just want them happy together forever! Haha
I definitely cannot wait to see what happens next!
I finished this book in one afternoon and I am not sure how. The storyline was absent. Perry was not the same character I read in the first book- he was a red flag after red flag in this book 🚩🚩🚩. I was damn right frustrated with Perry’s attitude towards Charlottes and constantly bringing up her ex like she could change who she’s had a sexual relationship with before him. The hateful and angry sex did nothing for me and the fact that Charlotte gave in again and again…sigh

Monica Murphy has written a story about fake weddings, secretive pasts, and growing feelings for someone when you least expect it. Perry and Charlotte’s story continues in The Ruthless Groom and I wanted to jump into the pages and give Perry a shake and tell him to listen to her! It starts with the wedding and an unexpected appearance of Seamus . Of course Perry reacts appropriately and puts Seamus in his place. But Perry is still not listening to Charlotte’s side of the story. What an ending though! I can’t wait to see what happens next!
I don’t have words to describe it. Honestly I really liked The Reluctant Bride, but what the 🦆 was this??? Perry has got personality disorder? Because I just don’t understand what happened to him? His behavior was so confusing and tbh I was 90 % time angry with him. Charlotte has my heart and she should be free without any man.
4 'I want you to trust me' Stars! ARC provided via Valentine PR in exchange for an honest review.
Perry Constantine and Charlotte Lancaster are back and trust me, you don’t want to miss their spicy and dramatic honeymoon! Yes, do make sure to read this book/review after The Reluctant Bride, I don’t want to ruin your experience with my spoilers lol So yeah, after that cliffhanger in the first book I was more than ready to come back to this love story and Monica Murphy did not disappoint.
So, as I mentioned, The Ruthless Groom is the second installment in the Arranged Marriage Trilogy, focused on the now marriage between two very powerful families. Perry and Charlotte are now husband and wife and their honeymoon is not the typical one. There is Seamus McTiernan in the way and that makes things difficult and intense between this couple. However, it also connects them and brings a whole lot of steam between them so let’s find out what will be stronger: their arrangement or their feelings?
I want him to see me like this. I’m his wife now. I want him to treat me like one. As if I’m his. And no one else’s.
This book is a great continuation to the first installment. The Ruthless Groom is all about the impossible-to-ignore chemistry between Perry and Charlotte. I mean.. the STEAM. Holy cow! Perry is a massive jerk sometimes but he is a freaking sexy one. I loved how the connection between these two continues developing (despite the obstacles on their way) and how this apparent arranged marriage is turning into something else. Again, we have another cliffhanger in the end and it’s even bigger than in the first book so let’s just say, I need the final installment yesterday!
She’s the most valuable thing in the world. My world.
Therefore, I am rating The Ruthless Groom with 4 STARS because it sure got me even more addicted to this series and this wonderful couple. I am more than ready to know what is happening next and how that will affect the relationship between Perry and Charlotte. Thank God, we don’t have to wait very long for the third and final installment!
"That's the problem. She's the most valuable thing in the world. My world. The Chevelle isn't my most prized possession. My wife is." - Perry Constantine, The Ruthless Groom by Monica Murphy
Did I read this in one sitting? Absolutely. Did I love it? DuH. Do I have any regrets? Yes, I can't read the next one fast enough. I loved the first book in this trilogy and needless to say, enjoyed this just as much. We get to see a different side to Perry in this one, which just like Charlotte, I thoroughly enjoyed. I'd say this book focuses more on their relationship and the slow progressive journey of learning to trust the other. This romantic novel will make you squeal and scream and in all the good ways!
The spice in this book is phenomenal. Monica Murphy is hands down one of the best smut writers I know and she's immediately dug her way into being one of my favourite authors. There's something about her writing style that doesn't allow me to put her book down hence why I stayed up reading until 2 am. No regrets there. The plot doesn't miss. What is a groom to do when his bride's first flame comes back to haunt them? Perry says 'succumb to sexual tension' and I'd say he's absolutely right. The tension between these two are undeniable and despite their reluctance, we all know the truth ;) I CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL OF YOU TO READ THE CHEVELLE SCENE!!
If you're looking for a fast-paced, arranged marriage trope with sizzling tension then this one's for you!
Thank you to Valentine PR, Dangerous Press and to the author, Monica Murphy, for providing me with this e-ARC in exchange for an honest review!
Book two in the series picks up right where we left off at Perry & Charlotte's wedding day. With the wedding reception having one extra uninvited guest, Perry's mood is set to dark and has the potential to ruin the honeymoon.
Not knowing if Seamus McTiernan was an invited or uninvited guest, drive Perry crazy. He turns his anger on Charlotte, but is yet unable to resist her. This book has load of hot and heavy sex scenes. While he is still not completely convince he can trusts his young bride, Perry is determined to protect his wife, because "She's the most valuable thing in the world. My world. The Chevelle isn't my most prized possession. My wife is."
In this book, both Perry & Charlotte slowly realise that they do like each other and are not upset with their arranged marriage. The book ends with an interesting and, seemingly desperate direction. I’m looking forward to see how it will all conclude.
Perry and Charlotte are cute together but it’s like reading about two kids order to play house together yet nothing ever happens no story line, no subject nothing nada other than sex.
I’m not even going to get into full details but a story should be developed this was never developed and never went past the characters having sex that was it nothing more.
Charlotte likes yea likes her husband and said husband like fudging her no conversations, no doing things together other than sex.
Perry and Charlotte end up in a Mexican beach honeymoon and guess what all the book is about? Yup, them getting naked and thinking to themselves how much they enjoy it.
The ending was the cherry on top now since I already invested my time on this crap I have no choice than two read the last one which will be put in two months another waste of time.
If this Author doesn’t redeem herself on the last book then I suggest she stops writing because this is literally nothing other than sex. I get it sex sells but in a story you need what? A fudging story.. Maybe develop the characters into adults actually having a life not sure sex or maybe put some drama or some tears at this point I doubt it.
By the way there is nothing ruthless about this groom other than the tittle his rather mommas boy..

2nd read 2023 3⭐ Again how i gave this book 5 is beyond me !! Idk what i was smoking.
1st read 2022 5 ⭐ The ending again? The author knowing so well what she is doing lmao but im glad i didn't read the series until now because the 3rd book got published only days ago !! Im so into their story and i want to see them happy with kids. End of it. Let that stupid ex go to hell :)
Whew, this book is fire! It picks up right where The Reluctant Bride ended and let’s just say I am more than happy and sated with where the story goes!
You can expect all of the angst between Perry and Charlotte that we got in the first book, including incredible chemistry and a notch kicked up in the spice department.
Murphy nailed the whole marriage of convenience to mutual attraction to lovers to …. in this one. I ate up the honeymoon scenes and couldn’t get enough of Perry and Charlotte’s interactions together! In addition to the romance, Charlotte is contending with her past and Perry is attempting to unravel the truth and her loyalties. Describe the uncertainty though, nothing can keep these two apart and it makes for an extra hot, extra angsty read. And that scene in the Chevelle!?! IYKYK.
I’m excited for the next book, and hope it will give us Perry really coming to terms with his feelings and finding he will stop at nothing for his bride. Another win for the Midnight Dynasty collection, Monica Murphy, and mafia romance as a whole!
The second installment in the arranged marriage picks right off where book 1 ended.
I was not a fan of this book at all, I was not bored, it was just the fact that Perry’s anger and mistreatment towards Charlotte is so stupid. Is not out of jealousy or miscommunication, is just for the sake of being angry. He never listened to what she said, he treated her bad, and manipulated her with sex. She was very open with him and he still didn’t care. He was the definition of immature.
This book obviously ends in a cliffhanger that was very Midnight Dynasty style, I might read book 3 just for closure, but this characters are not likable nor memorable like other books set in the same world.
What is even happening?! Perry and Charlotte have me by the throat people! I love these two so much and every choice that Monica Murphy has made for their journey thus far has filled my heart with so much joy that I am bursting!
man 🙁 H is the biggest baby on the planet. h's ex shows up and threatens her and for a majority of the book H is pissed at her because he thinks she invited the ex to the wedding and that she'll leave him? meanwhile H is the biggest dick to her telling her he hates + doesn't trust her and that they don't have a real relationship but he does want to have sex with her... every chapter. Even when she says no. And decides that she doesn't really mean no and assaults her anyway but it's ok bc she liked it. How did MM write a gem like Crew then turn around and do this. Poor Charlotte can't keep getting away from men that use and abuse her (but ofc H will be different bc he really loves her 😐)
Perry is definitely have a trust issue going on. He is frustrated character and I didn’t like him with that personality. I wish he trust Charlotte even more. Definitely jumping to the third book right now
Was childish and immature behavior sexy? I don’t think so… the heroine could repeat the same words as a parrot and hero with his poor mans ego wouldn’t hear her anyway (major red flag)
The book was so addicting, one of the things I like the most was the fact that we get to see more of Charlotte and Perry as a couple, and oh boy the get along pretty well, the chemistry they have it's unmatched 😏
The spice was top tier and I love how they dinamic between them works, the possessive side of Perry is so hot but there were moments through the book that I wanted to shake him because he was being so stubborn but I can't be mad with that man for more than two seconds, he is so sweet whit her sometimes and he doesn't even realize it.
The way the relationship develops is so interesting given the situation they were put into, I love how the slowly the realize they care about each other.
I can't wait to read the third book, the cliffhanger in this one is killing me 😫
If you wanna have a fun, spicy and quick read fill with lots of smut this is the perfect book.
If you love,
- Arranged marriage - Force proximity - Possessive MMC
You definitely should read this!
.
The Ruthless Groom by Monica Murphy, coming June 14th!
The Ruthless Groom takes Perry and Charlotte’s story forward, as they find themselves living a new reality.
Trigger Warning: Nasty and dangerous-ex
Warning: This is Book Two in a continuing series; please read Book One before diving in.
Synopsis: The wedding takes place not without a bit of a hitch as Perry Constantine and Charlotte Lancaster finally become one. But her past is not ready to let go of her yet, and just when Perry and Constantine start to connect, her past hijacks her present in a cruel and scary way.
Review: I liked The Ruthless Groom more than The Reluctant Bride and it all has to do with how Perry’s character grows. Whether it is being out of his mum’s reach (and shadow) or the hot and dynamic side of him that we get to see when he’s with Charlotte.
They are head-over-heels attracted to each other and decide to base their marriage on attraction alone, without involving their precious hearts. And the two minutes of drama at their wedding, with her ex creating a ruckus by just being there, doesn’t take away from them—their journey from being him and her to them.
Most of the story is spent with them on their hot and sweaty and sexy honeymoon in Mexico. But the back and forth of mixed messages continue. It was funny seeing Perry, the quiet and yes mother Perry, flying into a rage whenever he so much as thought about Charlotte’s ex (and such colourful names he gave them!).
This book is so insanely orgasm-inducing hot. After all, most of the book is spent on their honeymoon. While her ex does have an ominous presence, Perry and Charlotte’s cuteness and the way they grow to care for each other, being jealous of the attention the other is getting from the opposite sex, makes the story great.
Doja the cat’s constant presence toward the end of the book is a boon, as is Perry’s mother’s absence, though he himself wonders what’s holding her back from interfering in their lives. Meanwhile, forces outside of their control are busy planning and plotting throughout the book, which results in something terrible that happens toward the end, and yep, The Ruthless Groom ends in a cliffhanger. You can’t come soon enough, The Reckless Union, both literally and in a behind-closed-doors way (though the latter might not be in good taste, seeing how the story in this book ends).
"She's about to become my wife. Mine. And no one else's."
And finally Charlotte and Perry had tied the knot... Yes, this was an arranged marriage between the Constantines and the Lancansters and even though Perry and Charlotte were unwilling toward this union, they had started to feel something for each other... But Charlotte's ex is coming into the picture on their wedding day and everything go to hell between them, especially for Perry who are starting to lose this little trust that had toward Charlotte... And poor Charlotte don't know what hit her with her new husband's once cold and the other hot behavior toward her!!!
"What would it be like, to be love by Pery Constantine? To know that he's loyal to you no matter what. If I'm lucky, maybe I'll know someday."
In the second installment, we are seeing these two as a married couple, but their first days together is full of distrust and misunderstanding... The only thing that is progressing very good for them is their sexual chemistry... Perry is angry and Charlotte just resentful and their honeymoon is going to hell... What is bounding them is that they are starting to have feelings for each other, even though everything that are standing between them... Is there a hope for this marriage to succeed when someone is waiting around the corner to wreak havoc into their lives???
"You've ruined me." "Good. You needed to be ruined."
I love Perry, even though sometines he was acting like a douchebag and he was irrational... I can totally understand how he is feeling after Charlotte's first love came to the picture again, but communication with his wife is the key... But instead that he is preffering to become moody and treat her like shit... As for Charlotte??? I would love for her to have more of a backbone and to demand the respect that she deserves!!! Also I would love for her to be more open with her husband in certain matters cause she is hiding things for good, but after it will seem very bad... What I can not deny for these two is that is brewing a great love between them, one that they are both refusing to give in cause they are scared!!!
"I'm wis wife now. I want him to treat me like one. As if I'm his. And no one else's."{Charlotte}
"I want to trust her. But I don't know if I can."{Perry}
And now, I can not wait for the last part, cause OMG!!! The cliffy was huge and I need to see what will happen in the end... I am enjoying very much this story, even though at some points it felt a little bit slow... Yet... I need more of Charlotte and Perry!!! And i need it NOW!!!
"It would be a shame if you broke her heart too..."
