Welcome to my little space out on the web. I'm Kenny Soward, and I'm an author, musician, and once IT guy. I write books in many sub-genres of Science Fiction and Fantasy, including post-apocalyptic, military science fiction, epic fantasy, and horror. I'm influenced by authors such as Stephen King, George R. R. Martin, Anne Rice, J.K. Rowling, Mark Lawrence, Dan Simmons, Robin Hobb, Robert McCammon, Larry Correia, and Mike Kraus.
I love all kinds of movies and shows from Battle Star Galactica (reboot) to the Walking Dead. There's nothing I won't try.
I grew up in Kentucky in a small suburb just south of Cincinnati, Ohio, listening to hard rock and playing outdoors. In those quiet 1970's streets, I jumped bikes, played Nerf football, and came away with many scars.
My grandfather and many of my uncles and cousins served in the United States Military, and my father was a Kentucky State Trooper. Their efforts taught me the meaning of sacrifice and gratitude. I've always had an avid curiosity about the world around me, and I hope my enthusiasm for life carries over into my stories, even the dark ones.
Kenny Soward and Mike Kraus' Fracture series, Book 7, Rescue, continues the story of geologist Ben Willard, his wife Pam and their young family, currently divided by many miles.
In Alabama, injured Varney and her siblings, are rescued by Pam Willard and her new friends, though all face retribution from Possum and his gang of drug dealers, who have a hold over local law enforcement.
The former Vietnamese Ranger, Trang, helps his fellow Marine veteran, Joe Willard, (Ben's dad) and the family group, escape from murderous raiders, though Ryan, Angel Willard's boyfriend and Trang are both injured at different times before they make it to safety.
Can the Willards and their allies come through dangerous situations and natural disasters, to reunite and start over in safety? Grab your copy of Refuge as soon as you can, to find out how the series moves towards its end, in the next great chapter!
I love this story line. These poor people never get a break! Very few books make me go “What the F**k,” the way the last chapter of this book did haha.
Another reviewer said the grammar mistakes got better, but I kindly disagree. I stumbled through more errors in this book than the others but they were less distracting (maybe I’m just used to kindle unlimited books at this point). We stopped using the wrong character names though, which was a huge improvement!

This book 7 was really good as it progressed the storyline very well without a lot of lag. I like the addition of Tran now that we know the story of his history with Joe. I really dislike Mays and hope she gets what is coming to her. I am a little bothered that the CPPU (apparently the new military) and most of the law enforcement are portrayed as corrupt and/or thugs. Some of that might happen, but there are good guys too. I look forward to the next book.
Great book 7 in. This series by Mike Kraus and Kenny Soward.
Attempting to get home to family in the world as it is with society going down fast. Supposed military who are supposed to help going rogue and the world falling apart is horrifying. How do you survive and can you rely on anyone? Yes there are still some people who will help but can be few and far inbetween.
Wow, can’t wait for book 8. Things are getting tough and rough. One part of the family being chased and shot at by a local drug maker and his crew, who is also family with the local councillor and sheriff deputy. The other part of the family all together now, running through desert fighting thugs, and being chased by military.
In this book Pam and her group at the lake face many problems. Her stand for what is right causing some. Ben and his group do some rescues. The fight goes on. Next book PLEASE.
Another survival story that will have you hooked , wanting more. Once again the survivors have to discover a way to keep safe. Once you’re reading, there’s no stopping. Ready for more.
