Christians today will find great joy in looking back on just how faithful the Lord has been to grant us all things unto salvation. Thank God for men like Tyndale, whose passion was to shine the light of the Gospel into the hearts of common man.
(3.8) As he was about to be killed for translating the Bible into English, maintaining Protestant doctrine and refusing to recant, Tyndale cried, “Lord, open the King of England’s eyes.”
It’s amazing to think just a year later, Henry VIII authorised an English Bible to be translated.
It’s amazing what it cost for every person to get a Bible they can read and we owe everything that people like Tyndale paid the cost.
A bird’s-eye view of Tyndale’s impact on giving us the Bible in our own tongue. I would have liked more focus on the man himself rather than just the facts surrounding him. However, considering the book’s brevity, that’s understandable. Overall, it’s a great little read.
