Iced #4

Holding

Rate this book
The fourth book in the Iced Series! This is Jordan Beck's story, the goaltender for the Austin Amurs.
Holding: When a player grabs another player’s body, sweater, or stick, to prevent them from getting to the puck.

I’m Jordan Beck, goaltender for the Austin Amurs. Holding is my penalty. In my defense, if they get in my crease, they’re fair game.

Hockey runs in my blood—literally. Four generations of NHL goaltender greats gives me damn near royalty status, but it’s not all it’s cracked up to be. Living up to legends can be exhausting. It can also make it difficult to trust women and their motives.

Until Blair.

She had no idea who I was and adamantly refused a relationship—it was perfect.

What sounded good in the beginning quickly got muddled, and before I knew it, we had crossed more lines than an iced puck. Then it all went to sh*t when my ex showed up with my baby on the way. Thinking I was doing the right thing, I ended things with Blair.

Worst mistake ever—I’m miserable. My game is suffering, my team is pissed at me, and I’m on the chopping block if I can’t pull out of it. If I can find a way to get her back, I’m holding onto her with both hands.

Story: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (4.5)
Trope: ONS, accidental pregnancy
Angst: 😱😱😱😱
Smexy: 🔥🔥🔥

Jordan and Blair are both coming out of nightmare relationships and aren't interested in tempting fate, so despite their intense attraction, the just plan on a hookup. One hookup turns into exclusive friends with benefits, turns into feelings getting involved. But can their budding relationship survive the result of their past mistakes?

Holding is a super cute and angsty read in Kristine Allen's The Iced series. Jordan is an awesome hero. A nice guy that tries to do the right thing despite some of the bad stuff in his life. Him and Blair have some great chemistry. The epilogue is everything you want/need it to be! Can't wait for the next book in the series!

It becomes clear from the moment he eavesdrops on a frustrated female describing her desires when it come to relationships of the sexual kind that Jordan wants to be the man who caters to those wants and needs, so much so that he slips his phone number to her despite not even knowing her name, something her never does, especially after the relationship he had with his ‘crazy’ ex girfriend.

Blair keeps thinking about the handsome stranger who overheard her, in a restaurant share her sexual fantasies, despite having his number she hasn’t called him, however after finishing her shift in the ER one evening she heads over to the little restaurant where she finds said handsome stranger sitting all alone, she joins him and the pair engage in some flirty banter which ends up with them having a steamy encounter in the back of his truck. That night was only the beginning as Jordan and Blair continue to hook up time and time again, when their schedules allow it, that is. Both have had bad experiences with their ‘recent’ ex partners, but agree to continue their ‘relationship’, keeping it strictly to just hook ups, if only their hearts would agree. Even though they fight it, they both catch feelings for one another, however there are people out there wanting and willing to take advantage, striking just when Jordan and Blair are ready to admit their feelings towards each other. As a result Jordan and Blair part ways, only to reunite, after finally admitting how they feel and sharing some happy news of their own. They do face some bumpy roads ahead, but these two are a force not to be messed with, together they’re stronger and can overcome any obstacles in their way.

I loved everything about this book, well everything apart from Zena and Henry. Kristine has some wicked writing skills, she certainly knows how to draw a reader in and keep them captivated from start to finish, this was a fantastic addition to her Iced series.

Loved, loved, loved this! Jordan and Blair are fantastic characters. He’s got his head on pretty straight with all things considered. Jordan’s one of the best goalies in the NHL but doesn’t let that go to his head. He’s recovering from a break up with his ex, Zena, who is a nasty piece of work. Blair is a RN that works herself ragged on the night shift in the ER all because of the doctor that screwed her over. When Jordan and Blair meet sparks fly but neither one are looking for a relationship as they’ve both been burned so they settle on a mutual agreement. Things are going great until they’re not. Feelings grow, vindictive scheming ex’s are back and a few crazy surprises pop up making their story incredible to read.

Amazing.
Jordan and Blair both ended terrible relationships. When Jordan overhears Blair describing what it is she craves, he wants to give it to her. They both have this desire for each other. They want one another but both of them also are trying to push away because of the past. Keeping their "relationship" to just hooking up. But hearts never understand the agreement that was put into place. These two fight the feelings they catch while also having to fight against people that only want to take advantage. The wrong people try to make matters worse for them and when they succeed, you feel the hurt that these two go through. It's emotional. But these two, are what it means to be truly in love. They built their relationship based on who the person was. While they had hard times, they also had incredible times. They are a perfect couple that is a lot stronger together than others may think. Showing all those who wish them harm that they aren't the ones to mess with.

This book was an awesome read that I finished in one sitting. I could not put it down no matter what I needed to do. It grabbed me and sucked me in keeping me interested and reading. It moves along at a great pace, has characters that no matter what happens you have to love and a story that keeps you reading. This book needs to be on your TBR list, there is no doubt about it.

This laugh out loud sports rom-com gave me all the feels. It was funny and steamy and filled with a boatload of drama. Jordan and Blair’s “no relationship” relationship was entertaining and I’m a huge fan of the character crossover from the Demented Sons MC series. It’s like reconnecting with old friends.

I’m never ever disappointed by this author. This book has everything ice hockey (yes please), hot smut, a wonderful romance, and perfect groveling. Yes, from that previous sentence the hero makes (many) mistakes, but he does learn his lesson(s) and the heroine is NOT a doormat (like in so many romance books). There’s a lot of humor in this book and I was out right laughing at some parts. Blair is a tough and smart woman. It’s refreshing that she isn’t some simpering virgin dying for a man to complete her life. She point blank tells Jordan that she wants casual. There’s more to both characters than what they see on the surface, and both of them are emotionally hurt from things in their pasts. Awesome read.

I have to say that Kristine Allen has made me love hockey! Hooking was a fantastic addition to the Iced series. I really liked Blair. She was a great character with a sweet heart. She didn't get a fair shake out of life but she persevered. She was willing to work hard and do what she needed to do even if it broke her heart. Jordan overall I liked but there were a few times that I really wanted to punch him for being a giant idiot! Luckily for me that created lots of angst and I loved that. There were a lot of emotional parts of this story that really tugged at my heart too.
I loved the angsty rollercoaster that Blair and Jordan had to ride to get to try to find their happy ending.
This is such a fun series with loveable characters and I love that we get to see them all in each of the books. I also loved, loved, loved the parts with the Demented Sons MC! Especially when they got super protective. It just made me love them more.
The writing was flawless and the story line was captivating. This was an entertaining story and I really enjoyed reading it. I would definitely recommend it, even if you don't like hockey you will still love this story!

So excited for another Iced book! This installment focuses on Jordan, who has hit the time in his career where he’s sick of the girls only after him because of his career but not sure he’s ready to settle down yet. Blair also had a terrible ending to her previous relationship, and while confiding in her friend, Jordan overhears and gives her an offer to change her outlook on men. Not originally planning on following through with it, they end up at the same diner they met at the first time and follow through with things, and it sparks a relationship of sorts between them, especially with Blair not knowing who Jordan truly is. Everything changes for them when they both catch feelings, and Jordan’s past relationship comes back to haunt them and potentially ruin everything they’ve built. Thankfully, their feelings are stronger than what tries to break them apart and they get the HEA they both deserve.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Jordan Beck is a fourth generation goalkeeper for the Austin Amurs. He is looking for somebody who wants him for just him. Not his money and not his fame. He meets Blair in a diner, stating to a friend what she really wants in a man. Jordan and a buddy overhear her conversation, and thinking that it is hilarious, he offers his name and number and promises her his expertise. Both Blair and Jordan are coming off bad breakups and neither really want a relationship at this point. Well, they may not but their bodies and minds have other plans. They both think this is nothing but a booty call, until it turns into something bigger. That is until problems come back to haunt one of them.

Kristine Allen is a superb writer who really tells it how it is in life. One great author and I would give this story more than five stars if it was allowed.

This series is addictive. I mean I can't get enough if it. All of the stories are amazing. This addition to the other books didn't disappoint. I loved the storyline, cameo appearances, the unexpected moments and how everything came together. Jordan and Blair have intense chemistry. They just mesh well together. I couldn't put this down once I started. It really is an amazing story. There were even a few nail biting moments that had me on edge because you just didn't know how it was going to end. The suspense, action, secrets, truths, revelations, camaraderie, the game, sense of family, and the love all spill out in the pages of this book. It is an excellent read, one I would recommend reading.

This was another great one by Kristine Allen!

If you are looking for a book filled with hot steamy sex scenes, emotional up and downs, manipulation, and so much turmoil that you want to throw the book or your kindle across the room than this book is for you.

No strings attached is all Blair and Jordan were looking for, but when you throw a puppy and a couple of crazy Ex's into the mix they definitely got a lot more than they expected.

Our favorite MC also made several appearances throughout the book and who does not love those protective brothers.

Oh, and once again I learned some more about Hockey. I think I need to go to a Hockey game after reading this one.

I highly recommend this book and eventhough it is part of a series, you do not need to read them in order.

This is the fourth book in this amazing series, and this is Jordan and Blair’s journey. Jordan is a fourth generation NHL goaltender, and he is on the Austin Amurs team. Blair is an ER night shift nurse, and when she meets her bestie in a diner, she vents about her last relationship which has ended, and Jordan overhears her. These two have both just ended relationships and are not looking for commitments. These two complement each other perfectly and are stronger together, but they have some challenges to overcome first. This is a well written sports romance, with emotions, family, friendships, romance, fun, and love, which leads to a sweet and compelling page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

I loved this read so much! I'm absolutely hooked on this series and enjoying every second I spend with this close knit group of players and their special loves. Jordan and Blair have sparks early on and I loved how those sparks grew and intensified as the story progressed. There are some ups and downs, outside influences and still, that connection is strong. The story flows well, kept me involved and has the perfect amount of sweet and heat, smiles and emotion. Something that I really enjoy is the little bits of crossover from another series and I've added those books to my must read list as well.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

💀🏒💀Holding: Jordan And Blair💀🏒💀

I'll be saying this over and over, author Kristine Allen had me converted to loving sports romance. It's one genre I didn't think I would ever love but she proved me wrong. Jordan and Blair were just in it for a good time, they're so adamant on not being in a relationship but that's exactly what happened. They fell for each other over and over even though they denied it constantly, I believed a little fluffy dog named Beaker is their cupid and he stole the show. The Iced Series is by far my favorite sport so far even though I have no clue about hockey. Author Kristine Allen has an extraordinary talent for writing💀🏒💀

Jordan and Blair may have started out as a casual thing but it soon became anything but that. Jordan thought he was doing the right thing by ending things with Blair and stepping up in a time of need. But it was during this time that Jordan realized Blair was his person. My heart actually hurt for Jordan because he made a some mistakes along his way to redemption with Blair. I love his Ikea analogy. Once they come back together and admit what they mean to each other Jordan and Blair have a solid, beautiful relationship. I loved their journey, mess-ups, crazy ex's and everything that made them stronger together.

Holding my heart

Blair is a nurse. Jordan is the goaltender for the hockey team Austin Amurs. The first time they cross paths is in a diner and Jordan steps out of his normal and gives her his number. But Blair never used it. The next time they meet is at the same diner where everything changes for them. But with two crazy ex's neither want a relationship other than occasional meet ups. What will happen when feelings arise and then one crazy ex  comes back with shocking news? Will these two get past the hurtles? Will there be a HEA?

This series just keeps getting better and better. This is Jordan and Blair’s story can be read as a stand-alone. Both are coming out of bad relationships and a chance meeting at the local diner and Blair is telling her bestie how she wants someone to give it to her good, Jordan over hears and chimes in. This story has it all hockey, off the charts scenes , great chemistry and some suspense/drama. I did receive this book as an arc for a honest review .

Well, he was trying to do the right thing....

Jordan & Blair start a FWB thing and all is going well until his ex shows up claiming she's pregnant. He thinks he has a choice to make & he chooses wrong. Lord help these clueless men! Sweet & spicy, a cute read. Part of a series and even though there are a lot of characters mentioned, this can be read as a standalone without being lost.

Double Babies

This story has a humorous beginning to the relationship, but the casual way they start kind of becomes an issue as they get serious feelings. Then there is the crazy ex, who turns up to be a pain and drive wedges between the couple, making their relationship harder. There are lots of ups and downs, a cute puppy, a plant, and a whole team of hockey players, and a motorcycle club too. Its got humour, heartbreak, and romance.

Missed opportunity

First, let me just say this was a really good book. The writing was great. Really decent spice. Good plot. All the things need for a good book.

But, there was a huge opportunity for a great agnsty gut punch. And it was glossed over instead. I was holding my breath turning the page and completely deflated. So disappointed. It was set up for a scene that could have generated tears if done properly.

Oh well maybe next time.

Another great addition to this series. Yet another set of characters that I absolutely adore. The struggle is real ya’ll. Jordan gets himself in a doozy, does he find his way out and with what/who he wants?
While this is Jordan’s book it’s great to get glimpses of the other guys from the team and I can’t wait for more!

Guy overhears woman talking about wanting to get screwed in the best way possible and gives her his phone number. They meet up later and do it and keep doing it. And that's it. That is the entirety of their relationship. They don't bond over personality or likes and dislikes. She doesn't even know what he does for a living. At one point, his ex asks him to watch the dog they got together and he asks the woman to dog-sit for him while he is away for the job she has no clue about.

The erotica was good, though. Also, credit for good grammar and spelling.

I love these hockey books and I love the MC books. What’s even better? When they come together!! Jordan and Blair were pretty much love at first sight but they both had been burned before. Scared to admit feelings led them down a rocky road to HEA. 💕
