The series ends on a high note.
Definitely my favorite out of the three books. I’m a sucker for a ex-boyfriend’s dad trope and this hit the spot.

Well, this one was kinda so-so.
Our h was the daughter of the infamous mafia (or something). She's some of a tech whizz or something so her dad entrusts her with the dealings and the book. Unfortunately, things happened to her dad so she was out on her own. Hunted by her steps, she went to the only one that probably could keep her safe, the ex-boyfriend's dad. She wasn't in love with the exor anything. She was just sort of dating him for appearance's sake (that' sounds bad, but it wasn't really like that). The thing was she was crazily attracted to the ex's dad, and vice versa. And so.....
The story was sorta sweet. The whole courting and dilemma was completed with MCs demon. And how they overcome it together was kinda sweet. The steaminess was so-so though. However, the whole story was kinda flat. Buttttt... I suggest you download and read the extra bonus epilogue on Mia's homepage. The epilogue seemed to sweeten the story somehow.

It hurts my heart to give this 3 stars. Three stars for me means this was a good book, solid story, enjoyable, I would recommend. But I can't say that I really liked or loved it and here is why.
I read a lot of mafia/crime romances so when organized crime is introduced, I become instantly uncontrollably hyper aware and critical. I find fault when I'm NOT looking for it. Which led to me being turned off by inconsistencies in this story. Too many things just didn't make sense. Not from the crime villain's POV. I refuse to believe that a lot of what happened would happen to the head of a criminal enterprise. It was just too sloppy, too easy, and just unbelievable. There were too many holes in this story.
With that said, the actual focus of the story being Ryker and Brooke was very enjoyable. They had chemistry, they both had trauma, and they complimented each other. Their intimate scenes were spicy. I appreciate them as a couple.
I believe for someone who is less critical this story will rate much higher as this couple is adorable.
Last, I have to vent about how the next series character was introduced. I really feel like less is more when it comes to introducing new characters that will be featured in spin offs. Give me enough to be interested but not so much that my interest is turned off because I feel like I already know the story from start to finish.
I feel like a douche canoe with the above complaints. Mia has always been fantastic at presenting couples who are likable, plots that are interesting, and spicy that makes my mouth dry. I want to stress that this couple was fantastic. I just personally had little issues which mean nothing to no one but myself. It's all subjective. Overall, as a series, I would highly recommend all three books.

I loved this book!! I typically love all things Mia Brody so I was not too surprised that, once again, I had another book boyfriend. Ryker is a former Army Ranger dealing with being captured during his last miss. Brooke is Ryker’s son’s ex girlfriend.
When they first met, Ryker and Brooke were both intrigued with each other. Now that Brooke is in trouble and needs help, she thinks that Ryker is the only person who can help her.
This book held my interest from the moment I started reading it. I loved watching Brooke and Ryker’s story come to life. I will definitely be rereading this book!.

Brooke is in need of protection and the only person she can think of is her ex-boyfriend‘s father Ryker. Ryker is willing to do whatever it takes to keep Brooke safe. I really enjoyed how protective Ryker was of Brooke from the start. I have enjoyed the series and this one did not disappoint! Just enough action to keep things interesting with plenty of heat and all the feels you would expect from Mia Brody. I’m so glad that Ryker found his other half.

Shield Me is Ryker and Brookes story. Brooke is an integral part of her mob family. When her father has a heart attack she runs to protect the info she has and save her life. If she doesn’t she will feel the wrath of her stepbrothers who want control. Ryker is the father of an ex boyfriend she met years earlier and he left quite the impression. Being former military Brooke knows he can protect her.

Great series
To bad there aren't anymore gorgeous men with hearts of gold in this series, I really enjoyed reading about these heroes they definitely deserve there happy ending. I'm so glad Ian and her worthless step brothers got what they deserved and of course her father, but no mention of her step mother. I thought Bruce was a good guy it sounded like he was trying to protect the heroine I guess I was wrong. Ryker was my favorite I think.

Brooke is the tech whizz for her fathers shady business dealings, not by choice. He is hard and brutal man and after he suffered from a heart attack she just knows she needs a safe space to get away. Ryker is her ex-boyfriends dad and the only one she can trust. Ryker has a crush on the young since he met her. Instalove... long in the making, sweet, steamy, romantic and safe with action and a few twists and turns. Awesome story for a cozy afternoon at home😍😍😍😍

More courage county!!! I can honestly say I wasn't sure about this one...ex boyfriends Dad.... That could be a lot of ick, but Mia Brody has become a favorite author and I've loved everything she's written in any way related to courage county. So glad I read this. I promise, no ick, lol. Definite age gap, but Brooke and Ryker are amazing!!!! Love them both. This story has so much going on, but it's all well written and leads to a perfect hea!🥰 Definitely recommend!!

I've sat here and tried to come up with what there is to like about this book. . .and the only thing I got is that the mmc and mfc are decently likable and there's a dog. And it was pretty short, so that was good considering everything.
Nothing made sense. Way too many plot holes; way too fast with the insta-love; and there's plenty more issues but I'll just leave it at that.

OMG
This book was awesome. So touching and poignant from start to finish. It had me tearing up in several places as due to the characters past trauma which was heart wrenching! But I couldn't put this book down. A must read!

Awesome read
Ryker and Brooke's story was by far the most roller coaster ride I've taken in a long time. A daughter whose a prisoner to her father and the soldier who survived torture. These two have so much hurt in their past can they build a future? U loved every page read.
