When a dangerous driving charge gets me put in a fancy rehab for rich kids and socialites, I intended to do my time and then leave. I was going to leave behind the sports star who was addicted to uppers, the coke-head lawyers, and the space cadets. I was going to leave behind him.

Hendrick Kenley. Bored, listless, and filthy dirty rich. If there was a waste of oxygen, it was him. My only goal was to avoid him and his beautifully cruel smirk until my time at the Wellness Center was over. I’d get lost in books and the view of the ocean, and then I’d go back to my life.

But Fate, that glorious bitch, had other plans. Days before my release, I pick up a book. Jules Verne’s Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. In the margins of that tatty paperback was my future, words in smeared ink that spoke to my soul, and I had to find their author. He'd left me clues, and I was going to track him down.

Problem was, unlike the rest of the people in the Center, I was poor. My parents had taken out a second mortgage so I could spend my ninety days here, instead of in juvie. I had to make a deal with the Devil, and by the Devil I mean Hendrick Kenley and his cohort of disenchanted fools.

The Devil offered me a deal I couldn’t refuse; he’d pay for everything on the trip, travelling on a private planes and staying in fancy hotels, but I had to let him and his friends tag along.

There was a reason for the adage that if something sounds too good to be true, it probably is. I’d learn the truth of that the hard way.

Inside The Maelstrom is a two part enemies to lovers, reverse harem romance. The protagonists are all in their twenties and this book contains M/M.

When I was nine, my grandmother and her friends used to read and swap Harlequin Mills and Boons novels. When I was busted reading one, they started sneaking me boxes full of strong heroines and rugged men. Thus started a long love affair with the romance genre.

Then I discovered urban fantasy, and fell in love with broody Alphas and sexy paranormals, and combining them together was a no brainer.

Then I discovered Reverse Harem.... Oh my. Why choose, am I right?

First of all, thank you to PinUp Audio and Grace McGinty for the ALC ♥️ This was an excellent listen.

Just wow. This duet multicast narration was everything I wanted and more. These narrators took this amazing story and turned it into an audio dream. I loved every minute of it. Grayson, Juno, and Christian brought these characters to life and made the story that much better. Great job to Grayson and Christian for each voicing 2 main characters that were all completely different. (Grayson-Otto and Sampson. Christian-Hendrick and Evan) And they did so well that you can easily tell which character is speaking. Juno was excellent as Aviva.

As for the story itself, it is a journey. A beautiful one. The author made these characters develop so beautifully and handled the mental health part of the story so well.

Tropes include enemies to lovers, why choose, age gap, found family, billionaires, and mental health rep.

Inside The Maelstrom is a two part enemies to lovers, reverse harem romance. The protagonists are all in their twenties and this book contains M/M.

~Production~PinUp Audio~

"Love, it’s a wild force. Ferocious and cruel, or a soothing savior. It’s always a gamble, but it’s a wager between God and the Devil to which side the coin will land."

♡This was my first read by Grace McGinty & I loved it so freaking much! Have you ever felt so numb to your surroundings & life in general that you would do whatever it takes to feel something again even if it puts you in harm's way? This book was a whirlwind of emotions, twists & turns, & surviving even when that's the last thing you want to do. The obstacles that our MCs faced in this book are what some people face every day & I loved the way Grace brought it to life in an emotionally gripping story of healing.

The multi-cast duet narration for this audiobook was impeccable. Grayson, Juno, & Christian all did an absolute phenomenal job at bringing each & every character to life & executed every emotion perfectly!

If you like why choose romances with belly laughing banter, twists that will give you whiplash, & emotional stories that tug at your heartstrings look no further♡

~As Always Happy Reading~

Inside the Maelstrom: The Complete Duet is a contemporary romance written by Grace McGinty.

💜 mental health
💜 forced proximity
💜 found family
💜 multiple mysteries
💜 why choose
💜 🌶🌶🌶🌶 spicy spice

Have you ever just been so completely numb to life and what is happening that you would do anything to just feel for a minute? Aviva was there. And when she tried to take steps to just things over with, those decisions landed her in a facility to help her recover. Unfortunately, he was there. Smug, rich playboy, Hendrick Kenley. So so smug and he definitely does not care what others think. He’s going to do what he wants to do and that is why she has to stay far far away from him. But what happens when he sets his eyes on her? Will she be able to shake him off? Will she want to shake him off?

This was a unexpectedly fun and emotionally charged story. I kept getting pulled into everything that was happening. The story line was complex yet at the same time simple. So many mysteries were happening while at the same time trying to figure out everyone’s backstory and motivation behind the choices they were making. It made for a deeply rich and complex experience that I throughly enjoyed.

The blurb doesn’t do this duet justice. I think it’s one of the best “why choose” (poly) books I’ve ever read because they feel so real. Aviva, Hendrick, Sam, and Otto aren’t perfect. Damn right poly relationships are work, but it’s such a gift when your lovers truly get you. MMFMM.

And mental illness can’t just be overcome with more great sex. Sometimes during sex you focus on how vulnerable you feel instead of the intimacy of being with someone who makes your heart (and other places) happy. Sex and cuddling can only go so far. I love how the book navigates love and friendship when a lover’s mind makes them feel unworthy. This makes the story seem depressing, but it’s not.

It’s just so human, it’s a joy to read. (I’m neurospicy myself and can say that McGinty really gets it without bogging the story down with sadness.)

The story:
When she was in rehab Aviva became obsessed with the gorgeous commentary left in a Jules Verne book by a unknown previous rehab resident. In it he invites the reader to come find him at a London bookstore. She’s obsessed about finding him in a good way, the way that can save you when you feel empty. A good way that helps you find yourself.

Aviva also meets Hendrick in rehab and hates what she sees as Hendrik’s entitled playboy give-me-this-because-I’m-charming-and-bored lifestyle, but can’t resist when he and his two college buddies offer to take her to the London to search for the person who captivated her with his notes (he left a clue and an invitation to meet up in the book).

There are so many amazing moments, especially Sam’s dirty talk: “I’ve imagined all the ways I want to fuck you in this tiny dress all night long. Bent over. On your knees. Up against the bathroom wall at the restaurant. Then I imagined peeling it off you slowly, so I could taste every inch of your flesh and claim it as mine.”

Their goal is a grand old used bookstore in London mentioned in the note Aviva found tucked into her Verne book. But they don’t find him, they only find another note and the story turns into a scavenger hunt around the world to Paris, then Calcutta, then to Yokohama, then Hong Kong, searching for the final clue that will allow Aviva to meet the person whose passionate insights on the Verne book spoke to her soul.

An example of the commentary Aviva finds in the book:
“Love, it’s a wild force. Ferocious and cruel, or a soothing savior. It’s always a gamble, but it’s a wager between God and the Devil to which side the coin will land.”

As they travel together they are discovering each other too. Aviva realizes that her guys are anything but shallow. And they don’t mind sharing.

Hendrick is so right about bookstores:
“Hendrick pushed open the door, and a little bell tinkled above it. It smelled musty, like that indescribable antique book scent, and I inhaled deeply. Used bookstores had a magic that normal bookstores lacked. It was always like being transported to a sepia-colored paradise.”

And yes, the spice is spicy:
“I watched as the two of them brought her to an orgasm so strong, there was no way the apartment three balconies over didn’t need a drink and a cigarette.”

When Aviva finds herself in a fancy rehab facility after her intentional car collision with a magnolia tree. She is putting in her time and working through her depression. When she comes across a book in the library that has a note in it from a former patient of Sunny Outlook she is ready to go on a quest to find this mystery man. Unfortunately she doesn’t have the money to chase this guy around the world. Insert Hendrick Kenley, the cocky rich kid and least likely person Aviva ever imagined taking a trip to Europe with. When he offers to pay for her trip and go on this adventure with her as well as his two best friends, Ato and Samson and his bodyguard, Evan, this is an opportunity she can’t turn down. Let the rollercoaster ride begin!

I absolutely loved this book! The way the characters were able to help each other heal and overcome their struggles and emotional trauma was beautiful. I am a sucker for why choose with an MM element and I love age gap as well, which were both delivered in this story. The bond the characters shared was so special. I will say the spice was definitely hitting hard as well! So if you’re looking for an emotionally charged, why choose story, then I highly recommend Inside The Maelstrom, especially in audio!

Speaking of audio, it was incredible! Inside The Maelstrom is a duet multi-cast narrated audiobook. Narrated by Juno Cooper, Grayson Owens and Christian Fox. This was my first time listening to Juno and I am in awe of her talent. The way she voiced Aviva’s mental health struggles was powerful. She also captured the lighter side of Aviva as their adventure went on. Grayson is always a favorite of mine and his performance was excellent. I have only listened to Christian a handful of times and each time I enjoy his performance more and more. With there being 4 MMCs and only 2 male narrators, I give them major kudos for giving each character their own distinct voice that matched their personality perfectly.

I really lived Aviva personality but I am still left wondering why she was so depressed she wanted to kill herself. I know depression looks differently for everyone but in the book it was not discussed alot. I loved the wanting to find Nemo and then it
Just stopped! Other drama comes in and then the search for Nemo is back on. I loved all the guys personalities and wanting to love and cherish Aviva.
By the second half I was just skimming all the sex scenes. I really hated Henley father! I do not care for the loathing of rich people! Eat the rich.. what does that
even mean? Why do alot of writers hate on rich people? It takes me out of the story like way out that I don't wanna read it. The saying goodbye to Nemo was so tragic and I loved that we got more about him from his lawyer. 😢 I was confused about the pbr poly group bc it just wasn't nationally known. Also, why when mentioning they were going to Columbia I thought they were going to the country? I thought Aviva said she lived in Florida? Confusing. If we shouldn't dislike people for who they like and what they do in their own bedroom why spend the time and energy hating people for being generational rich or having money. People work hard and have money. Money is not everything but to some it is. The money thing seems to be written in EVERY authors stories so I'm just not getting it! I know there are some things I'm forgetting but this was an emotional read about bipolar, depression, money, abuse, 1 woman w 4 guys but it was heavy. I did not like how they would tease Aviva about being crazy, she would say she's not crazy then several chapters later she would declare yeah you know I'm crazy. Just no! I would recommend this book to someone but w warning....I didn't cry but I just was not in the mood for a deep read like this.

This book. THIS BOOK. I don’t even know where to start because my soul is still recovering (in the best possible way)! 🥺🔥

From the very first chapter, I was absolutely hooked like, glued to my headphones, can’t stop listening hooked. The narrators Grayson Owens, Juno Cooper, and Christian Fox absolutely KILLED IT. They didn’t just read the story, they *became* the characters. Every emotion, every twist, every raw moment? I felt it all. If you’re an audiobook lover, you NEED to experience this one with your ears. 🎧👏

Let’s talk about the writing Grace McGinty’s prose is so beautiful and honest, it makes you feel every single thing these characters go through. This isn’t just a story; it’s a journey through heartbreak, healing, and self-discovery. The plot? PHENOMENAL. Every twist had me clutching my chest, and the treasure hunt element? Chef’s kiss perfection. 👨‍🍳💋

And the characters!! Otto’s heart, Hendrick’s delicious sarcasm, Samson’s need to provide, Evan’s fierce protectiveness… ugh, my heart can’t handle it. The found family vibes are STRONG and the relationships? Next level. The spice? HOT AS HELL. Like, you might want to keep a fan handy because things get steamy. 🥵

This book is also a massive advocate for mental health and loving yourself, all wrapped up in a package that’s impossible to put down. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’ll change you (no, I’m not being dramatic, I swear).

Tropes that make this a must-read:
✅ Why choose
✅ MMFMM
✅ Millionaires
✅ Bodyguard romance
✅ Found family
✅ Mental health rep
✅ Self-discovery journey

If you want a story that will make you *feel* everything laugh, cry, swoon, rage and you love a good dose of spice, Inside the Maelstrom is your next obsession. Seriously, don’t walk, RUN to listen to this duet. And don’t be surprised if you need a moment (or ten) to recover after. 😉

I’ve read a couple of Grace McGinty books and loved them, but this audiobook was my first experience with this particular story. It has definitely become my favorite book from this author, though, and one of my favorite audiobooks overall. There are so many things addressed in this story—mental health issues and treatment, classism, trauma, and abuse—yet nothing is ever lost in translation. Each and every subplot, issue, and relationship is treated with the greatest of care and compassion. This is a Why Choose romance with an element of MM, and this wonderful story is absolutely done to perfection. If this audiobook doesn’t hit you in every single one of your feels, you may want to check yourself for a pulse. Aviva and Hendrick meet while they’re both in a mental health facility. She is dealing with long-term depression, and he is bipolar. When she wants to embark on a quest to find the author of handwritten notes she finds in a Jules Vern novel, Hendrick offers her the chance to do so first class as long as his friends—Sampson, ,Otto, and Sampson’s bodyguard, Evan—can come along. Who could turn down that offer? What follows is a journey to end all journeys, where not only Aviva, but all the men find much more than they bargained for and everything they never they needed. And along the way, they create their own unique found family and bring love and healing to one another. And the romance and spicy-spice are most certainly on point. I loved every second of this story, and I suspect it will stay with me for quite some time.

The incredible duet-style narration is provided by Juno Cooper, Grayson Owens, and Christian Fox. Each of these talented voice actors deliver a passionate, emotional, and nuanced performance that will truly make you feel every word of this amazing story.

I came across this book on BookTok and I am so glad I let myself be influenced. I went in blind and from the very first chapter I was completely swept away. This story took me on a beautiful adventure of healing, family, and loving your people exactly as they are. The mental health representation was spot-on, written with realism that hit me straight in the heart.
Just when I thought I knew where the story was going, Grace McGinty threw in the unexpected and changed the entire direction. I adore books that shake you at your core, leave you reflecting, and change you in the best way possible — this one did exactly that.
The character dynamics and development, both individually and as a found family, were absolutely perfect. The “Family Meetings” had me giggling (so cute!), and the spice was delicious while never overshadowing the deeper messages of the story. The pacing was well balanced, with roadblocks and twists that kept me captivated right to the end.
I felt such a strong connection to Aviva — not just her beautiful name, but her journey. Her quest for Nemo became a mirror for her own healing and self-love, and that resonated deeply with me. Surrounded by her four men, each bringing their own unique layer to the dynamic, her growth felt all the more powerful:
* Hendrick’s sarcasm, ego, and wit.
* Otto’s giving heart and caring energy.
* Samson’s steadfast need to provide and stand strong.
* Evan’s protectiveness and undying love.
This book finished me — completely and utterly. It’s one of those rare reads that will stay with me for a lifetime. Easily 5 stars, and if I could give it more, I absolutely would.
I had no idea she was an Australian Author until the end! That made me all the more happier.

5 ⭐ 3.5 🌶️ 5 🎧

PART ONE
I was a touch surprised by the darkness in this story. I hear dark and I automatically assume we're getting extreme enemies to lovers vibes or our MCs are going through some pretty violent circumstances... But Inside the Maelstrom's darkness comes from inside these characters and the angst may eat me alive.

I'm loving these broken souls so dang much. Aviva is a force despite all that she's been through and the boys are so complex and interesting. I wasn't sure if Evan was going to be joining the fold, but I was so happy he did. Despite the turmoil he caused, I just know he's going to be the glue that holds these relationships together.

The spice was so much fun. I can't wait for more from each couple and the group. I am loving the MM component and love the love they share.

PART TWO
I loved this story so much. The adventure, the love, the anguish; I was either smiling or sullen, no in between and I loved it. Aviva and her boys were incredible and watching them fall in love was such a treat.

I really enjoyed the Nemo storyline, especially the conclusion of it. So many emotions... And Drix's parents... Woof. That was rough and yet poetically perfect. This story wrapped up so well.

There's really not as much spice in this series as I expected given it's a why choose MMFMM, but what was there was fantastic and moved the story along very well.

AUDIO
The audio was so so good. Juno Cooper, Christian Fox and Grayson Owens were amazing in this DUET style multi cast narration and I absolutely loved this listen. Thank you so much to PinUp Audio for the advanced copy!

2025:

“Can you imagine loving someone so much that you can't stand the idea of humanity without them? I want that kind of love, and nothing else will do.”

The way in which Grace is able to throat punch me in the first 5 minutes of her audiobooks, utterly unbelievable!

Narrators: Grayson Owens, Juno Cooper and Christian Fox.
Wow. Amazing. Like, I didn't even realise that there were only 3 narrators who did all characters - especially the boys. Each character had their own unique voice and it was perfection. They've done such an amazing job at bringing Grace's work to life.

As for the storyline - once again, WOW! Grace is able to manage mental health, grief and trauma in such a delicate, sensitve way but at the same time, gives the characters their spotlight to stand up and speak out against what they're experiencing. It makes the entire feel of what is happening in the story, so relatable. You can't help but feel your heart strings being tugged.

The entire concept of the whirlwind romance/scavenger hunt was AMAZING. Such a great, unique concept. I loved every single moment of it.

This book really is so fantastic - I feel like I could listen to it over and over again and the events of what is going on in the character's lives will never get old.

"That's how it was with grief. Every minute was a little better than the last, every hour a little less raw. Every day you moved forward, until the pain would strike you out of nowhere, but it wasn’t an all-encompassing weight on your chest anymore, threatening to crush you.”

The guys in this RH were really sweet. They were a solid friendship group. Hendrick, Otto & Samson were a great unit who had each others back. I hadn’t understood why Evan entered into the RH for most of the story. Not until the last hour of the audio did I understand how involved in the guys lives he had been.
Eviva has a cry for help (drives car into a tree) and ends up in an institution for rehab & mental health. I hadn’t realised the importance of her reading the marked up book at the time. And her meeting of Hendrick was a bit random. I did enjoy when she met the guys, but I never really understood what made her that special. Sure, she wasn’t any different to them because of their money. But is that it??
She wants to follow the trail the markings in the book lead her on. Hendrick is bored so decides to fund her trip with his friends. Poor girl in a rich environment, very pretty woman.
Drama because of Hendrick’s dad. I don’t know why Lotti was introduced at the end. And why we bothered learning about a missed period when nothing was really ever mentioned again. Some really odd loose ends.
I was annoyed how some of the more fun elements of a RH story was closed door!! There was a very obvious closed door moment about 11 hours into the audio book which just really give up hope of the spice being followed through.
The audio of this book was performed duet and was really well done. I loved the voices and how the actors actually read their parts throughout the story.

💫 **Inside the Maelstrom by Grace McGinty** 💫
⭐ **Rating**: I wish I could give this more than 5 stars because it truly deserves it!

This duet has left me absolutely *blown away*. Tackling heavy themes like mental health and suicide, Grace McGinty handled them with such care and beauty that it’s left an indelible mark on my heart. It’s rare to finish a book feeling so fragile but complete and hopeful, and this story gave me exactly that—and more.

The plot was *phenomenal*. Every twist and turn was unexpected, and each one somehow outshone the last. I was on the edge of my seat the entire time, wondering where the story was going to take me next. The quest itself was both heartbreaking and healing, a journey that tore me apart and stitched me back together again.

I’m an audio girlie so I was stoked I got to listen to this stunning story. The narrators? They *brought this story to life* in a way that made it even more immersive. Each voice was distinct and had to much feeling to them that it bought the world to life. A huge congratulations to the narrators for nailing these imperfectly perfect characters. The spice-to-plot ratio was absolute perfection, blending emotional depth with just the right amount of heat. And man sometimes that heat was 🥵

This duet will forever hold a special place in my heart. It’s raw, it’s real, and it’s a testament to the power of hope and healing. If I could give it more than 5 stars, I would in a heartbeat.

Audio version 5 star 4 spice why choose romance. MMFMM
Eviva is in a dark place and making bad choices. An empathetic judge giver her a chance to turn it around. What seems like yet another failure turns out to be the start of a new adventure when she meets Hendrick Kenley, playboy millionaire with his own demons, and he offers her a chance to take off around the world chasing a mystery. While solving the riddles left by a enigmatic stranger, Eviva also unravels her own feelings. Not only for Hendrick but also for his two best friends. Can Viva find happiness with this unlikely group?
This audio gets off to a great start. The voice of Eviva is so emotive and grabs you immediately. The male characters are distinct without falling into stereotypes and they play off each other in a way that’s so fun to listen to. The relationships each have their own path and some are slow burn which nicely offsets the heat of others. All of the relationships feel authentic and I love that Viva is their glue but not necessarily their centre. The pacing is consistent and the story unfolded without rush or filler.
The voices of the narration are clear and in duet style. I was able to pretty quickly determine who was speaking which can be hard when a single actor does multiple voices but kudos to the voice actors it was really well done.
Highly recommend this story. Loved it.

Disclaimer - I listened to the audio which includes both books, and OMG.

I didn't read this story. I experienced it.

I FELT the characters emotions, I loved the introduction to Aviva and her experiences with mental health, it was so raw and real.

And meeting Hendrix - and the boys - just made me want them to find what they were looking for... salvation, peace, forgiveness, validation, revenge... and love. I want them to find love.

but first - its a worldwide treasure hunt following the notes in a Jules Verne book Aviva found in the treatment centre, written in the margins ... "come find me' with a clue in bookstores all over the world...

Just as well she has fallen in with three wealthy men and a bodyguard, so cost is not a barrier to chasing the man from the margins, whom they call Nemo.

The emotional journey is deep, sad, traumatic and my heart definitely had a solid work out. The characters all have their challenges to face and overcome and the healing they need

And when emotions run high and Aviva finds herself attracted to all three, sharing is not a deal breaker at all.

Honestly, just go read - or listen - to this well written story.

If topics of mental health are troubling for you, please check the content warnings as heavy subjects are addressed through this story.

I read this a few years back, as my first Grace McGinty book and I have been desperate for the audiobook to add to my collection. This book has always stuck with me (particularly the closure of the treasure hunt) and I loved every second of being back with Viva and her guys. I have such a soft spot for Viva, Otto, Drix, Evan and Sampson (one of my original book boyfriends who will forever be in my top ten).

Viva is on a mental health journey following a cry for help and embarks on a bookish treasure hunt hopping all round Europe following her release. The mental health topics are dealt with sensitively and are woven into the story as part of the characters not the definition of them. Throw in an amazing found family (Evan's comment on hugging totally got me!), some seriously sketchy parents adding to the drama and just the right amount of spice and you will be hooked!

The audio production is amazing and really captured all the highs and lows of the journey. From Drix’s self sabotage, to the epic food poisoning, to Viva learning to feel again, it’s all even better in audio. The narrators are fantastic - and it’s a multicast duet!

My interpretation of the star system;
3 stars - I enjoyed it; would read the author again
4 stars - I really liked it; I am invested and definitely want more from this author/series
5 stars - I loved it; I engaged with this book completely until I finished it and it is one I will re-read

This book touched my heart in a way that it's almost impossible to put into words how it made me feel. The author gives everything to the readers in this story and more. There is playful teasing to keep you laughing, hot as fire chemistry (whew! 🔥), and profoundly deep connections with found family.

The story is emotional and heart wrenching as it details some life experiences of the characters, including mental health struggles and past trauma. However, it is laid out in the most gentle, compassionate way possible with a little humor mixed in along the way. The characters supported each other as they were on a journey together which allowed each of them to explore what they wanted in life. It was beautiful to witness the polyamorous relationship begin to take shape and slow healing begin to happen. I really admired how each character and individual relationship was very unique, but the group blended together seamlessly.

The multi-cast narration was delicious and absolutely perfect! Juno, Christian, and Grayson truly took on the lives of the characters and they put so much passion into each of them. The inflection in their voices left no doubt that they wanted the readers to FEEL the characters and I certainly did! We hear the laughs, the hesitation and nervousness, the sadness, the excitement, and immense hope. I didn't want it to end!

This is honestly one of the best books I've ever read. Made better by the fact I got to listen to it, the voice narrators did such a fantastic job, they really nailed every aspect of the story.
This is such a massive advocate for mental health and love, done in such a way that you won't be able to put it down until you've finished it.

AUDIOBOOK REVIEW:

Story - ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Spice - 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Narration - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This is the complete duet (part 1 and 2) of Inside The Maelstrom by Grace McGinty. I'm glad I had both parts because I'm not sure I would have handled that cliffhanger between books too well. Aviva is court-ordered to 90 days of residential treatment for an attempted suicide. It is here she meets Hendrick who she immediately dismisses as a spoiled rich boy. She does like his two friends, Otto and Samson, when they "drop" in to visit. The day of her release, we are treated to an international adventure centered around clues left by "Nemo" in Jules Verne books, corrupt family issues, why choose romance, and mental health struggles. The author guides us through the daily struggle with mental illness for both the individual and their loved ones. This story has something for everyone - why choose/reverse harem, found family, adventure, angst, rivalry and spice to heat up your earbuds! Absolutely loved this. Definitely on my re-listen list.

The duet multicast narration was spectacular! Grayson Owens, Christian Fox, and Juno Cooper delivered amazing performances for all the characters with so many distinct voices. The passion, the steam, the pain...they brought it all to life. Loved, loved, loved!! All the stars for this trio.

🎧 🌎 ALC Review

Inside the Malestrom by Grace McGinty

15 hrs, 34 mins
Duet Cast

Narrators:
Juno Copper - Aviva
Christian Fox - Hendrick & Evan
Grayson Owens - Otto & Sampson

This story covers a wide range of emotions, themes & TWs. It is reverse harem, individual ṣëxƴ times, MM, MF, rich boy/poor girl (some very serious nods to Pretty Woman), public displays, self-sabotage, world travel, mental health represented in positive & negative approaches, found family, toxic actual family, strong friendship bonds, new friends, heartbreak...

The Narrators were phenomenal in bringing Aviva, Hendrick, Otto, Sampson & Evan to life! They were live theater for your ears. 🥰

Some parts of the story could have used more details & explanations.

...first 4-way with all of them in Paris - super ṣëxƴ. 🥵🔥💋 Aviva & Otto running thru the Paris Apartment to take a shower afterwards - too funny. *They were cum-stuck together.

Thank you to Grace McGinty & Gin Hannon of Pin Up Audio for my ALC. ❤️

Absolutely Loved this book

Narrated in multicast duet by Grayson Owens, Christian Fox, Juno Cooper.

This ALC/book combines the two parts of an enemies-to-lovers Polyamorous story.

This book focuses on mental health and the struggles that people who suffer can and do go through. The book touches on how important a real support system is!!! I love the way slow development of the relationships.

This book sucked me in immediately and I found myself thinking about it during times that I couldn’t be listening like at work. Wishing I could slip in an earbud and return to Hendrick, Samson, Otto, Evan, and Aviva because the world and story created don’t leave you even when you put the book down. I was so sad when I finished this book because I didn’t want it to be over.

This is my first book by Grace but it definitely won’t be my last!!

This was my first audio experience with Juno Cooper.

If you know me you know I love Christian Fox & Grayson Owens!! Great performances all around.

I liked this duet (although I read it as one book) a lot. The subplot of the adventure was unique, the MMCs were great, and the initial falling into love with everyone was sweet. The spice scenes were spicy.

The second half didn't have the same appeal as the first because we faded to black for several key (group) spicy scenes. I went back to my other reviews and it turns out that I actually had similar feedback on one of the other books I read by this author...these are Why Chooses with m/m relationships, but most of the spice scenes we see are actually 1:1s (whether it's f/m or m/m). Don't tease us with love triangles (or squares!) and then not even show the good stuff!

The ending was a little abrupt for me and I feel like one of the MMCs didn't really get the closure he deserved, and the FMC lucking into literal billions was a little silly. But it was overall an entertaining read.

I listened to this duet and loved it. Grace McGinty has produced a wonderful piece
It had lots of spice plus a great story.

Grayson Owen's, Juno Cooper and Christian Fox brought the books to life. Each voice is narrated by each actor, not just by each chapter. I did find at times that some of the voices did sound similar, having the same voice actor playing multiple roles, though. However, with Grace's writing, you can tell which character was talking.

The story follows the life of the female character Aviva going through mental health issues leading her to enter a mental institution where she mets Hendrick whom introduces to the rest of the main male characters- Otto, Samson and Evan. Following a wild goose trace from clues left in a book.

There were lots of twists and turns with not knowing what was coming next will keep you on the edge of your seat, not wanting to put the book down.

Overall, I loved the book and highly recommend it to everyone.

Audiobook Review

Mental Health affects us all in very different ways but it does not differentiate on how much money is there in people’s bank accounts. In this story, we have several accounts of how the character’s mental health is dealt with, managed or perceived. It’s neither perfect nor incorrect and therefore the representation is well done.
Loved all three narrators, Juno Cooper, Christian Fox and Grayson Owen voicing all 5 main characters.
In terms of the polyamorous relationship, I can see how Samson, Hendrick and Otto fit in with Aviva but Evan becomes a side piece, more of a father figure to the boys and a comfort for Aviva.
I would have also liked a better fight and ending to the saga with Hendrick’s father. It was a good subplot and added quite the drama to the story but in the end it was just underwhelming.
All in all, this audiobook is a great listen, full of travel mystery and unraveling characters.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, Grace's contemporary RH/ Why choose novels are an automatical one-click buy and a guaranteed favourite!

I'd had Inside the Maelstrom on my TBR for a little while and finally got around to read it. I have loved the candid, heartfelt and honest view of several mental health disorders/ issues and their impact on both the sufferers and their loved ones.

As usual, the chemistry between the character was sweet, hot, complex and steamy all at once.

Despite the heavy subjects and dark moments, it was a very sweet -and hot - read! Now, where can I get myself an Evan?!

Wow, what can i say this was the best audiobook i have listened to this year. I loved the dual POV, and voice overs so i was not confused who was who at all. The voices were exactly how i pictured the characters to sound. You could feel the heartbreak in their voices.

This is a slow burn reverse harem does revolves around mental illness and Grace did this so well. I would recommend checking your triggers

The spice is so well written, it has just the perfect amount of spice and storyline.
I plot was top tier, I was immersed in this story the whole time. I didn’t want it to end.
You will be on the edge of your seat and you will not want to put this down. Why choose sometimes gets a bit predictable but grace really nailed the twists and turns. I rate this 10/5 stars it was that good

Duet narration - Juno Cooper , Christian Fox & Grayson Owens

Superb and phenomenal narration. These three were absolutely amazing. The guys narrating two male main characters each did wonderful giving each character just enough difference to know which character was which. Juno did every female voice with fabulous performance. I loved it.

Captivating storyline about mental health and family life struggles.

We start with two of our characters being in a facility together but not exactly being friends. So how do they find themselves traveling the world together along with three others?

A book with clues to a journey that sends them all over the world and finding themselves together. These 5 characters create a lovely found family situation. Supporting each other through ups and downs throughout the journey.

I can not recommend this book enough. It is heartfelt emotional and funny with spicy spice that will have you foaming at the mouth!

This duet were my first books by this author. Please make sure to check triggers before reading. I enjoyed the story. There's lots of angst and tension. The first book we're introduced to Aviva who struggles with her mental health. After an accident she gets sent to a wellness center and meets Hendrick. Aviva tries to avoid him until she can leave the center. But then days before she's suppose to leave Aviva comes across a book. Jule Verne's Twenty-Thousand Leagues Under The Sea. In the margins there are words that speak to her soul. Aviva goes on this journey with Hendrick and his friends.

I loved seeing Aviva's relationships with each guy evolve. I felt the chemistry she had with all guys. I loved that we got their POVs too. Their dynamic with eachother and Aviva was very interesting. There was respect and so much possession amongst the guys. They were so loyal to her too. Aviva had so much growth. I loved how she was finding herself and in the end found a family in the guys.

As for the audiobook narration, it's amazing! Performed in duet multicast with Juno Cooper, Grayson Owens, and Christian Fox. They embodied their characters so well. Juno conveyed Aviva with so much compassion especially when she had her moments with each guy. Grayson conveyed Sampson and Otto with a deep tone. It was easy to distinguish the characters. Christian conveyed Hendrick with a broody tone and deep baritone for Evan. The duet narration elevated all the emotions in this one! Highly recommend the audiobook!

Audiobook out now!
