...saucy in the office...
KU novel. New author. Was just okay.
I think the premise of this novel was good. We have two colleagues who don't really get along. There is a miscommunication with a text message and instead of a potential hook-up from a bar showing up at the heroine's door, she gets her office rival also with the same name as hook-up. Decided to have one night together they get busy and then to to navigate office politics but are put together to compete for a job.
I think where I struggled was I didn't feel the connection between Drew and Morgan. I mean the author tried to convey they cared for each other by having sex alot, but I was missing the emotional connection to make me believe in their romance.
The writing also lacked something too. It was kinda choppy and I wasn't immersed in the story.
So, not horrible, as there were some fun moments and I did like the idea behind the book, but I've read others that did this theme better.

This is a wonderful enemies to lovers story. It also is a forbidden romance because they work together and there is a policy against it. Nothing was supposed to come of them sleeping together one time, but it didn't stay that way. Great writing and characters!

The story of Morgan and Drew. She never liked him, but after a mis-sent text ends up with them hooking up, will it be a chance for more. Inter-office relationships are frowned upon in the work place, so what will happen when the are discovered?

I am voluntarily leaving a review after receiving an ARC from Hidden Gems.
It is an office romance. Morgan and Drew worked for the same advertising company but in different departments. Morgan's supervisor is out on maternity and has decide to extend her leave. Their company decides to find someone for the position. Morgan and Drew are the finalists for the position and will have to work together while competing against each other. They find each other attractive but Morgan has a strong dislike for Drew which everyone m own about. As they work together they get to know one another and lines blur.
There is an understated work environment that gets introduced but gets glossed over. Their is a no fraternization policy at their company. The person who is making the selection for the position drops little hints about being a sexist but both Drew and Morgan rationalize it. The only nice thing is that Drew and Morgan get the same treatment in the end.
Other than the aforementioned issue, the book was good. It was cute. There really isn't a antagonist to the story. It is a light easy read.

This was a cute read, but the main female character came across as uppity, stubborn, and righteous. She eventually sees that she was too superficial in her early judgments. The main male character was in love with his co-worker. She had caught his eye from the day he started. He constantly teased her about riling her up and getting her attention. Morgan doesn't give Drew the time of day until one night; she thinks she's texting a doctor but is texting her co-worker instead. Drew is shocked that Morgan messaged him, but he isn't going to let this opportunity fly by. When she opens the door and is shocked to see Drew, he takes advantage and kisses her. Morgan decides to give Drew one night. But now Drew has gotten under Morgan's skin; she doesn't want to get rid of him but doesn't want to admit she likes him either. But once you get out of your way, you discover happiness was in front of you the whole time.

This is a story full of misunderstandings, humour, some sexism, and lots of office rule breaking!

I'd like to see Phoebe get her own story.

Good romance from enemies to lovers

I really liked the beginning of the story where a mistake in the name of a message leads to a torrid misunderstanding between Drew and his colleague Morgan. The story is tender, raunchy, but complicated by the rules of no fraternization in the office for them.
It is a good and tender romance.

Drew and Morgan's story is a cute tale with fun banter and hot tension that you get lost in the pages. I love the banter between the character as they hedge for the same job while also fighting their attraction.
This is amazing entertaining story that is perfect for a lazy afternoon.

Not quite enemies because the FMC is a grumpy workaholic and thinks that the MMC is overly-joyous and a kiss-up.
The dynamic between them was good enough.
The romantic/ sex pages were likable but quite similar.
A predictable read. It just feels good. So you can unwind reading it expecting nothing but sappy lovey-dovey things.

I love a good enemies to lover trope and this one definitely scratched that itch. I read this one and the Not quite the boss back to back and enjoyed them both. The FMC really did not like the MMC but he found his way under her skin. It was deliciously fun and made me LOL at points. Love it.

Usual enemies to lovers trope, office romance. Loved the little confusion at the start. And also how Drew was so honest and honourable throughout the story. Great story.

Who doesn't love the forbidden romance? The sneaking around and pretending in front of others (sometimes) lol. This book is such a cute book!! Definitely would recommend!

I'd buy what they're selling
This was such a cute read. I totally loved the banter between Morgan and Drew, and their chemistry practically leapt off the pages. I could actually picture the campaign ads they came up with, and if they were for real products, they definitely would have caught my eye.
