Mountain of Lies

Rate this book
A cold body. A warm paradise. A murder with more than one culprit…

Maui, Hawaii. Private investigator Edgar Allan “Poe” Rutherford is worried. His latest client may have committed homicide, and sharing his suspicions with his detective wife is an argument he’d rather not have. But when she arrests his new employer, catching the true perpetrator means keeping it in the family.

Never one to let loose ends go untied, Poe’s off-the-record investigation uncovers another suspect connected to foul play from years before. And now he’s not sure if he’s solving one lethal crime or two…

Can Poe serve up hot evidence on a stone-cold case?

The Twelfth of Never

I’m afraid this is the last of the Maui series, I hope I’m wrong. Hence the title.

I love ‘Blue Bloods’! I’ve been watching since the beginning. I know all the actors, invested in them. Thoroughly enjoy all the episodes.

Robert Stephens characters are well thought out, imbued with personalities that are relatable, and memorable. Just like ‘Blue Bloods’. This series stuck a chord with me.

I was stationed on Oahu in Kaneohe before my deployment to Vietnam, and have visited most of the Hawaiian islands on subsequent visits. I live in South Florida, and ate at the Breakers for Christmas one year. Familiar territory as settings for these tales.

Don’t miss out!

4.5 stars. Book 11. Sarcasm, mystery, and humor, this was one of my favorites. The two cases Poe takes on here are some of his most challenging. Add to that the referee role he plays in his sister-in-law's latest family drama. Poe has a full plate. Wish I could stop reading these books so quickly, only 5 more to go in the series. Keeping my fingers crossed that book 17 will be on the horizon sometime this year.
