I am Lady Assassin Krunch. Okay, not really.
But I’m dressed like her at the CosPlay Con I waited forever to attend. And I play her in the live action role play group I belong to. It’s nerdy. I’m aware. But there’s not a lot to do for a socially awkward pharmacy technician from Fargo, North Dakota to do.
My life is lonely and boring… until I get sucked into a portal through my phone at the Con and tossed into an alternate time on an alien planet.
Turns out I am Assassin Krunch after all because this planet makes all your desires come true. Except, I sort of crash landed in the middle of an alien wedding and now Gamalt, the priest of Tala Furi, who is also the groom, thinks I’m his fated mate. And his fiancé— ex? — wants me dead.
I may have accidentally started a war.
Oops.
Gamalt has magic hair and his body lights up like a holiday tree when we touch. He says it means we’re meant to be together. I think he has a screw loose. Fine, so he’s hot for an alien. But I just want to go home.
But it’s not that easy. My desires could cost Gamalt his life, and the choices I make will have consequences that even Assassin Krunch can’t fix.

The heroine is weak and a crybaby. Hero used sort of like a mind control to made her feel arousal so he can easily find Earth in her mind and she got mad because she didn’t orgasm? Wtf? Oh and after that she asked stupid questions like “have you been to Earth?”. Again what? He didn’t even know there is an Earth or human exist in the first place!🤦🏻♀️ Stop reading after this I’m just wasting my time.

I made it to 82% and I just couldn’t finish this one all the way. I reaaaalllllyyyy disliked the personality transplant thing and the body changes. It was super icky to me. The world building had its good moments, but it just didn’t pull me in.

Action-packed and hard to put down! Right from the start, I was drawn into this story. The more I read, the deeper the need to keep reading grew. Fern is just a regular girl, stuck in a boring job with no prospects to change anything, except maybe start a cat collection. The Comic-Con thing was the most exciting thing in her life. When she and Ariel drank that drink, it was an allusion to Alice in Wonderland from that point forward. Once the action started, it kept building. Gamalt and Fern discover a connection and it can either save her or bring death and destruction to all of Earth. See what I mean? Impossible to put down!

unique
I found this unique with all of the portal powers, and comic book references along with a nod to Vikings via Aliens. It was a pretty different adventure than the rest of the shattered galaxy books but same thing that happened.

This was a decent compromise between shortness and a more involved story line. It was executed and resolved okay enough to be serviceable. My usual reasons for not loving it apply; too short, too simple, not enough emotional depth or complexity.
All things considered, it was nicely written and it works as a short little alien romance with adult elements. If you want something short and simple but that isn't sorely lacking on decent writing and story crafting, this works out well.
I don't really have anything strongly to say for or against it besides that, in the series of 8, it's one of the better performing ones. It even introduced Arial having a book later on quite seamlessly. The integration was the best of the seven books I've read so far to be honest.

Gamalt and Fern
While at a Cosplay convention, Fern becomes another victim of the AI/Cell-phone glitch.
Transported through the portal, she takes on some of the characteristics of her favourite comic book character, Lady Assassin Krunch. They might not be natural to her, but Fern will find herself in need of those abilities, especially since she accidentally interrupted a wedding, and might have caused a war…
Gamalt was once a portal master for his people, making a strategic mating to the leader of a rebel faction was supposed to help them find a way into her camp.
When Fern interrupted that ceremony, Gamalt wasn’t too upset, because Fern might just be the answer to everything…
This book in the multi-author series, has a slightly different flavour than most of the others, because Gamalt and his people actually know things about portals!
Fern, of course, is very much a fish out of water, and so it was interesting watching her realize that sometimes what you think you want, is not at all what you really want!
An entertaining and enjoyable read for the Shattered Galaxy readers, and sci-fi romance fans alike (especially if you’ve ever wished to be the person you cosplayed!).

Cute and Fun!
I have loved every book in this series!! And this one is good too! I loved this world with these aliens with almost sentient dreds. Girl dressed as her favorite character at a ComicCon having fun with her bestie gets sent via her phone to a strange new world!! Where the people are like Vikings of old except they have technology!! Loved this! Can’t wait for the next series!!!

Fantasy at its best!
I really enjoyed this story of Fern and Gam. Fern and her friend are at a cosplay con when she is sent to another world where she interrupts the high priest's marriage. She is thrown into an alien world and alien intrigue all the while getting to know Gam. It has a very creative and enjoyable storyline. The only negative is that the book needed editing. There were many small typos and other errors that were distracting throughout the book.

This one was really good!!
I don't think I have ever read this author before but I will be looking up other works by her. I really look forward to the sequel to this. I've never been to con but have made costumes for my sons and their girlfriends so I have a small idea about them. I don't think you really need that knowledge to enjoy this. It's a fairytale adventure with lots action but it's ultimately about learning to appreciate yourself.

A cute story for Gamalt and Fern
A cute story for Gamalt and Fern . It’s still the same troupe of a human female goes through an unplanned portal and end up with a male alien. Gamalt is actually about to get married to a Raider in order to gain Pearce for his people when Fern shows up at his feet dressed in COS play outfit of an assassin. There is some humor in this story. Read On!

Ok, so I'll admit. I simped. The hot alien on the cover drew me in. It has the potential for a good story but did not really seem to go there for me. Plus, for some reason, one of the chapters repeats itself? Maybe bad editing? Could be something on Kindle's end? I returned the book and tried to re-download it through Kindle. Nope. Repeat chapter sixes. Kinda threw me out of the story.
The story is kinda cute and the cover art is fire, but I was unable to really get into this.

Really enjoyable
I could not get Rebel Wilson out of my mind from the minute we were introduced to June until the end. I like Gam a lot but I didn’t think we got a good resolution on the character that caused all the trouble. Not gonna say more than that cuz it would be a spoiler.

I did not noticed this was a short story and for the prize .. nope. The story might have been better if it would have not been rushed. But her showing up in a changed outfit, them thinking she is a killer.. and her personality change back and forth.. no thanks. I found the book lacking in everything, even the sex scene was blah...

Great Entertainment !
I love how Fern gets drawn into the alternate universe! Also, how she confronts all her personal issues. This to me was a very charming, humor filled, entertaining story. And while light hearted, dealt with deeper issues.

Sweet, fun adventure
Oh I love finding a new feel good author. I love the premise of a comic con adventure with a real portal. Don't we all wish that was real? This is a light rom with some Larp thrown in and an alien yummy guy.

I thought this was going to be another monster smut book but there was a lot more to it. The plot was pretty crazy and good. For a novella it kept me interested and wanting to know how things work out.
