She needs an enticing story to keep her job. He needs a fake girlfriend to get his family off his back.
Fox Mitchell has made a name for himself teaching high-octane survival classes to city slickers looking for adventure when he’s not busy as acting captain of the Estes Park Search and Rescue Squad. He’s happy being a loner, even if everyone around him is getting hitched.
Please. No one is going to domesticate and neuter him, thanks.
Especially not the irritating woman who tries to rope him into an interview for some magazine he’s never heard of. He’s about to send her packing when his family reminds him, he needs a date for a wedding and they’re not about to back off until he gets one.
Lulu Orlando has a lot to prove to her boss. As the only female reporter on staff for a prestigious men’s magazine, she uses a contact in Estes Park to find Fox Mitchell, the sought-after survival expert no one has been able to coax into an interview. Her ex is after her job, and if she doesn’t land this gig, she’s screwed.
She has no choice but to agree when Fox proposes a deal: be his fake girlfriend for a weekend and successfully complete his most challenging survival course, and she can have the interview.
Except nature is too messy. She hates dirt. And bugs. Camping means a five-star hotel with an infinity pool.
Ditching her designer heels for hiking boots, she doesn’t realize she’s trekking head-first into danger, and strength she didn't know she had. Fox gets more than he bargains for but everything his inner grizzly bear craves, as he’s forced to let go of what he thought he wanted…
To save the one thing he can't live without.
WILD IN THE WOODS is book four in the Estes Park Shifters series. Each book in the series features a hot grizzly shifter and the woman who tames them, and can be read as a standalone.
Exciting read! It teaches you that if you out your mind to something you can overcome any obstacles to do it! It doesn't matter if you are afraid, or if others tell you that you can't do it! You can just believe in yourself! This is what Lulu had to learn about herself with the help of Fox, who happened to be a bear shifter and learned that Lulu was his mate. You have to read the book to find out what happens.
Fox & Lulu: he never like reporters and he wasn't going to have a mate like everyone else. She was sent there to get a story on the Fox's life, but he wouldn't have anything to do with it. The characters will take you through twists and turns through out their journey to find their fated mate.
This is the 4th book in the Estes Park Shifters series, but can be read as a standalone. This is Fox and LuLu's story. Fox owns an outdoor adventure company and generally eschews social media and publicity in general. Lulu is a reporter who is trying to interview Fox for her job at a men's wilderness magazine article. Fox isn't interested and Lulu has something to prove and Lulu ends up agreeing to do a shortened version of Fox's course and he agrees if she graduates that he'll do the article. They have chemistry but Fox has strong feelings (because of childhood trauma) to not want a mate, so when he realizes that Lulu is his fated mate, he does everything he can to fight it. Lulu doesn't understand all of that, but she does understand not being taken seriously and has her own family issues that cause roadbumps in her relationship. Throw in an ex trying to sabotage Lulu and this story had good pacing, good chemistry between Fox and Lulu, a cute dog, and was really enjoyable. I listened to the audiobook and that was well produced and was a short easy read.
I adore this entire series—this installment was no exception! It packs an addictive, small town that I absolutely want to move to, where everyone pretty much knows everyone and shifters openly live among humans.
These shifters are all intense alpha male, but still chivalrous and incredibly sweet. This particular installment brings in a heroine with a dirtbag ex and a controlling father … we see her really work some stuff out and maybe discover how to be free? No spoilers but … it’s a sweet, steamy read with some outdoorsy adventure.
I recommend this book and all books in this series—overall:
4 stars.
Audio:
I listened to the audio: The narrator was great and the production flawless. Well done.
It was a little slow getting started but once Lulu decides to take Fox Mitchell up on his offer to get her interview, the action starts. Towards the end of the book is where Lulu starts to believe in herself instead of what her parents and ex think. Now both Fox and Lulu believe in love and their being fated mates.
Absolutely loved this story. Probably my favorite out of all the Estes Park shifter series stories. Fox and Lulu are couple goals. I always love when a city girl falls in love with a woodsy guy. Swoon….
This book ended way to soon, I need to experience more from these characters. I love the strong female lead and the whole dynamic between Lulu and Fox.
Highly recommended, it's a quick read with a well thought out storyline.
I love this series and couldn't put it down and when I read the last book I wish there was another book I didn't want it to end it was fantastic. Reading it in order does help to know who the characters are just loved it.
Wow!!! This book is hilarious!!! I was cracking up with it. Most of the time I'm driving to my second shift and listening to it and people in the cars must think I m nuts!!!! Lol🤪😜🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Great quick read and story. I enjoyed Fox and LULU, maybe more than the others. Kind of nice series with all the humans and bears mingling. I'm still not sure if I'm into the bear shifter in general, but I would read more Paffel.
This ending was happy on several counts. It feels good when everybody get their just deserts. I’m sad that I don’t have access to Bear in a Boutique, but I thoroughly enjoyed this series. I highly recommend it.
I really enjoyed this book from this series! It was filled with family, friendship, surprises, drama and love💖. I really hope there's another book📙 in the future.
This was probably my second favorite book out of this series. That does not detract from the fact that this was an amazing story. I seriously could not stop reading. I sat down with my tablet and just kept going. It was nonstop I did not stop reading until I was done. I certainly think I found a new interest in survival kind of romance stories and I don't think I would have found that any time soon if I hadn't read this. I'm very happy my sister recommended this series to me.
This was definitely my least favourite in the series. At no point through this series do I remember ryker being mentioned then suddenly fox has a bother? And the whole heat thing has never happened before. I did like the plot though, and the encouragement to go for your dreams and push yourself. Would have liked to have had a chapter or two more before the epilogue cause it went from emergency to epilogue where they’re happily together with no in between.
