When God Asks the Questions
The focus of this book is the questions God asks. I know that it is appropriate to look to the Scriptures as a book of answers, but it is also a book of questions. In the middle of all the important questions of the Bible are the ones God asks. From the opening chapters of Genesis when God asks, “Adam, where are you?” to the place in Revelation where John is met with God’s question, “Who are these in white robes, and where have they come from?” we will look at the questions of God.God’s questions are very different from ours. We ask out of ignorance, or curiosity. We ask because we do not know the answer but want to find it. God does not ask questions out of the lack of knowledge or understanding. He already knows the answer. He asks, not for His benefit but for ours. His questions put us on a path of serious inquiry into meaningful answers to important and meaningful What is happening? Why is it happening? How did we get into this situation? How do we get out of it? In the process of dealing with His questions we find out a lot about who He is, who we are, and what that means for us.What this means is that we need to be listening, not only to what God says but also to the questions he asks.
