After a harrowing attempt on a judge's life at the courthouse, Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are tasked with finding a missing woman and an endangered child in connection to the murder of the judge's wife. What seems like a fairly straightforward case becomes hopelessly tangled when the marshals discover that the woman they are searching for is in witness protection and the Amber Alert put out for the missing child has put two lives in danger.
Madison and Jonas are forced into a race to find the woman and the child before the men who want her dead discover her location. And in a final showdown that could cost her everything, Madison will come face-to-face with the person who murdered her husband.

This is a Christian Romantic Suspense, and this is the third book in the US Marshals series. I have not read the first two books in this series, but I do not think that took anything away from my reading experience. I was pulled into this book super fast and I did not want to put it down. I loved the characters in this book, and I loved the case that is going on in this book. The suspense is very great in this book. The romantic was not the best, and it was just two people that as feelings for each other. Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book. I loved all the action in this book. There was a lot going on in this book, but it was easy to follow all the stuff going on. I was kindly provided an e-copy of this book by the publisher (Flemming H. Revell Company) or author (Lisa Harris) via NetGalley, so I can give an honest review about how I feel about this book. I want to send a big Thank you to them for that.
The Catch is the final story in the US Marshals series. We have gone on a journey with Deputy US Marshal Madison James as she has grieved for her murdered husband and looked for his killer, all the while being taunted by the killer and even shot in her own home. Only she has had amnesia and cannot remember the killer, only that it is a woman. New evidence surfaces as the retired detective helping her comes up with up with some ideas that help trigger her memories. On the other hand, cases continue as she and her partner, Deputy US Marshal Jonas Quinn are thrown into a situation at the Seattle Courthouse as a trial is being threatened. They get the judge out only to find out his wife has been murdered. His mistress is accused, and his baby and her sitter disappeared. If this all sounds crazy complicated, it is and that is not the end of it. This is one multilayered story with several things going on at the same time and no clearcut idea of what is going on. Lisa Harris does a great job of tying up loose ends at the end but not without some misdirection and wrong paths. In the end, Madison has closure, as do other characters, with the chance of a new beginning in the romance department. There is danger, action, surprises, and faith in this story that will appeal to those who enjoy suspense and mystery. I received a complimentary ARC from Revell Publishing and NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts and opinions are mine only.
Upon starting this I finished it in less than 24 hours. Having read the first and second books in the series, which all can be read as a stand alone by the way I was anxiously awaiting the release of this one. After reading the first two I had a lot of unanswered questions that I was really looking forward to getting an answer to. A fast-paced series that has well-rounded characters and the action keeps you on your toes. This romantic suspense was a slow burn and I really like how it turned out. The faith message was what you'd expect filled with forgiveness and understanding. Nothing pushy. This adrenaline filled romantic suspense kept me quickly flipping pages and finally getting the answers I was after from the other books, telling me the how, what why, when and where. Can't wait to see what the author puts out next. I'll be reading it!
Publish date April 5,2022. I was given a complimentary copy of this book. All opinions expressed are my own.
Characters: I enjoyed reading about both Jonas and Madison. I especially liked that there were three books about them.
Language: Clean.
Moral: Forgive me for being a bad reviewer, but I'm a little foggy on the moral because it's been a while since I read this. Madison and Jonas were both believers, and Madison discussed God with a lady she was protecting.
Plot: Plenty of action and plot twists kept me flipping pages.
Romance: Clean. Just a kiss at the end I believe. I enjoyed seeing Madison and Jonas's relationship develop throughout the trilogy.
Writing: Lisa Harris's writing worked well for this book. Her straightforward style helped keep the action moving.
Overall: The Catch was an exciting read, and I'd recommend it to those who enjoy Christian fiction and romantic suspense.
Disclosure: I received this book free from the publisher/author. The opinions I have expressed are my own, and I was not required to write a review. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255.

{ This book does mention affairs and murders, and while it is overall very clean for these topics, it may be best for older girls.}
This was a pretty satisfying ending to the “US Marshals” trilogy. The mystery of who murdered Madison’s husband and is stalking her has been in the prior two books and I was excited to read and see what would happen in this final book.
I really like the pacing of this one; There’s a lot happening but unlike other suspense books I’ve read, everything is not “coincidentally” connected. There were multiple things happening but they didn’t all add up to the same big picture. Which really worked well because we see a couple extra POVs that sometimes give the reader a bit more information than Madison or Jonas has and I enjoyed that element. It kept you on your toes as you were reading.
Also, I liked Jonas a lot in this book. He cared for Madison a lot but respected her space and listened to her. While he might have rescued her a couple times, she rescued him as well so she wasn’t a damsel in distress at all—which is very fitting because she’s good at her job. The romance element was super light in this novel and just in the whole trilogy in general.
This may be my new favorite series by Lisa Harris and, as always, I’ll be watching for news about her next suspense books.
*BFCG may (Read the review to see) recommend this book by this author. It does not mean I recommend all the books by this author. *I received this book for free from the Author for this honest review.
This is a page-turner. Don't start it unless you are ready to race with the characters to locate a child who is missing. There are so many layers to this rich story. You won't be able to stop until you know what happens. And the romance sizzles.
I have been waiting for the conclusion to this series! Lisa Harris has done a fine job with her US Marshals series. We finally find out who has killed Madison's husband and wounded her, but Harris takes us on a roundabout trail with a surprise catch at the end.
Well done characters and two plots in one make this one a great inspirational suspense read. I was not disappointed. And there is a secondary character here that I think (hope) just might have his own story some day.
My thanks to Revell Publishing for a copy of this book via Net Galley. The opinion here is my own.
This is the third book in the US Marshals series and wraps up a case revealed in the first book. There are other cases that take the focus off of the murder of Luke James, husband of Madison. If I had not read the first two books, it would have been hard to follow the main thread. Even so, I thought a few things needed explaining. Partners Madison and Jonas are in the thick of it again. They are trying to find a missing mother, baby and babysitter, encountering puzzling clues and dangerous people. They are also putting off the discussion of where their relationship is going. They are still working through past hurts. “I have learned that pain and tragedy become part of who we are. But that does not mean that you cannot move forward despite the pain.” They do rely on their faith when they find themselves overwhelmed and both comment that they each challenge each other in good ways. Lots of twists and turns and cringeworthy criminals. Absolutely worth the read. There are hints of a story about a secondary character. I am looking forward to the next book by this author. *I won a copy of this book from Library Thing. I was not required to give a favorable review. All opinions are my own.*
What a story! This is the conclusion to the series featuring Madison and Jonas, and it’s just as good as the others. I would be quite happy if there could be another trilogy featuring them and their next crime-fighting efforts!
This tale has a kidnap situation, with a missing woman to find and protect as well as a child in danger. Madison is dealing with issues from her stalker as well, unable to remember details from the attack in the last book, and unable to identify who it is who wants her dead. All the threads from the other novels are coming together alongside the new problem.
I’m very pleased with how the story held my attention and will be rereading the series soon to pick up on the little details I’m sure I missed in my eager gulping of the words.
Much like the other books in this series, this moves at warp speed and it will keep you guessing until the end.
I really enjoyed seeing Madison's story continue with the search for her husband's killer and who shot her. She has amnesia about that night when she was shot but she will find out who and why in this book, but even then there are some twists that I didn't see coming. But at least she gets closure on this event and can move forward in her relationship with Jonas. I think this was holding her back from allowing the relationship to blossom.
The action/mystery/suspense aspect kept me guessing and wondering how each piece would unravel to reveal the truth. Not everyone is who you think they are and perhaps those you thought untrustworthy will give you a second chance.
I love the setting of this series. Seattle is a beautiful area and there is so much to do. It is a great spot for those that love the outdoors as we can see in a few scenes as they tromp through various wooded areas, trails, and parks.
This is the last book in this series featuring US Marshals. However, it gave me good insight into what they actually do compared to other government agencies. It is not a light job and there is just as much danger as any other entity.
This is a fantastic trilogy and well worth the read. We give it 5 paws up.
Don't start this unless you have nothing else to do in life. You'll want to race along with our U.S. Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn. An exciting, thrill-ride conclusion to Harris' US Marshals trilogy. I would recommend reading them in order to get the full effect of the B storylines.
The Catch by Lisa Harris is a fast paced race to find a woman in witness protection. Not only is she in danger, but also the witness has a baby in her care. The U.S. Marshalls are trying to find two before a ruthless gang gets to them first. The heroine is a Marshall assigned to the case, and has her own villain chasing her as well. There are several sub plots and a romance to keep the reader turning pages in this intriguing romantic suspense. *I was given a copy of the book by the publisher and this is my honest opinion. 4.5 stars
Lisa Harris knocks it out of the park with The Catch! You’ll be caught off guard again and again as Madison and Jonas work to solve their case and find Luke’s killer. I love how Harris kept me on my toes throughout the whole story. That element makes the best suspense stories.
I enjoyed the complexity of the plot. There’s nothing straightforward about The Catch – that’s partly how Harris keeps the reader guessing, I think, but she also weaves the story tighter and tighter as it advances. This makes the story more intense to read and totally draws you in.
I really enjoyed this cast of characters, and I’m sad that the series ends here. While the loose ends are all wrapped up in satisfying ways, Madison feels like a friend. I want to know what happens to her in the next chapter of her life, and I hope that Harris finds a way to tuck some Easter eggs into future novels to keep us up to date with her. Her story became even more personal in The Catch than in the previous novels – it grew deeper and more complex as she worked through years of emotion and processed new events – and I really hate to see her go.
So if romantic-dramatic-action-packed-suspenseful-high-octane novels are your fav, this is just the book – really the series – for you. Just remember to clear the weekend, because once you start, you won’t be putting any of these books down.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
This story was thrilling as it took the reader on a ride along with the Marshalls, Madison and Jonas, as they seek to solve a crime.
A great suspense novel for me ensures that I don't know how the story will turn out and this one definitely kept me guessing as to how it would all turn out.
The Catch is the third in Lisa Harris’ US Marshals trilogy, and it’s a fine way to close out a series!
The action kicks off from the first page and never lets up. Federal marshal Madison James and her partner Jonas Quinn are tasked with rescuing a judge from an active shooter situation at the courthouse where he is to hear a high-profile case. But things take a turn when they learn that the judge’s wife has been murdered and the judge’s son with his mistress is missing.
Not only is Madison trying to solve the murder and find the missing child, she’s also trying to figure out who killed her husband five years ago. Solving that crime may be the only way she can close that chapter of her life and hopefully move forward into a life with Jonas.
Lisa Harris has a straightforward, easy to read writing style, and it works well for this suspenseful story. I never felt like the action lagged, and I never felt like there were any slow parts to the story. It moved along at a brisk pace.
Her characters are also wonderfully written. Madison and Jonas have this incredible chemistry, even when they’re dancing around the relationship, neither sure how prepared the other is to take things to the next level. And Judge Saylor, he’s a piece of work. Makes you wonder about the integrity of the judicial system if there are many judges like him on the bench!
And the story. It’s full of threads that criss and cross and you might not be sure how it all interconnects – until you see it. Harris does a masterful job of crafting multiple plot lines and steadily weaving them together into a magnificent whole.
This book is billed as Christian fiction, but Harris doesn’t thump you over the head with any Bibles. The faith portrayed here is an integral, natural part of the story, and the characters stay true to their beliefs.
The Catch is a heck of a read. I had a hard time putting it down. If you enjoy a good mystery, full of tension and suspense, with a lot of action and a clean romance, you’ll like The Catch. Even if you don’t think Christian fiction is for you, give this one a try. You might like it!
Disclaimer: I received an advance review copy of the book from NetGalley and Revell. All opinions here are mine, and I don't say nice things about books I don't actually like.
Deputy Marshals Madison and Jonas are called in to investigate a breach of security at the courthouse, and find they've stumbled upon something so much bigger.
Continuing the ongoing thread from previous books, while plunging headlong into a brand new twisting trail of deception. Madison and Jonas have come a long way, learning to trust each other through many trials, their shared faith bringing them even closer together. I liked getting to know Ava, as she works to stay one step ahead when it feels like there is nowhere to turn.
A fast paced read with a suspenseful plot that keeps you guessing, bringing the series to an explosive conclusion! Definitely does a great job with strong relationship building, great tension, action, suspense, and tying up loose ends with twists I never saw coming. Highly recommend this excellent series, the only bad part was that I had to wait in between each book for the next one. And now you won't have to anymore!
I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.
What a thrilling conclusion to the US Marshals series by Lisa Harris! The Catch finally answers the question we have been waiting for 3 books now. In a surprising ending, all is finally revealed about who was responsible for killing Madison’s husband and hurting her. One aspect I have really appreciated about this series is we get two suspense storylines in each book. One case is solved in each of the three books and then there has been the continuing storyline I already mentioned. I really enjoyed the case in this book involving a missing baby and a young woman and the race to find them. I was hooked from the beginning and had to keep turning those pages until the end.
Thank you to Library Thing, author, and publisher for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed are entirely my own.
The Catch is the third and final book of the US Marshals series. There are actually three storylines in this third and final book of the US Marshal series. Starts out when a judge's wife is murdered and his out-out-wedlock child goes missing with the babysitter. All evidence points to his mistress murdering his wife. The second story involves the babysitter on the run with the baby. She is running from someone but who? The third story is the one mystery that has been since book 1 and that is the story of the murder of Madison's husband Luke. I figured out who the real murderer was in the judge's wife murder. That was pretty obvious. The stories in this last book kept me turning the pages.
Thanks for LibraryThing and the publisher for providing me a ARC of this book to read and review. All opinions are my own.
This is the third and final book in the US Marshals series. It could be read as a standalone, but you’ll get a richer experience by reading all three books.
I was glued to this action-packed thriller as Madison and partner Jonas try to unravel a mystery surrounding an attempt on a Judge’s life. I was amazed at the intricate web this author weaves. Nothing is cut and dry, and/or predictable. What starts out looking like a simple case soon explodes into something very unexpected.
I liked how the author gives the reader a front row seat to this young girl’s drama and how the main characters are lured into a situation they never saw coming. Then the twists and turns begin, as things are not what they appear. I loved the satisfying ending where readers finally get to know who has been stacking Madison and killed her husband.
Many characters prove redeemable, while others are bad to the bone. I couldn’t put this inspirational thriller down until I had gathered all the puzzle pieces, attempting to know who done it in the end; there are many suspects and other mysteries that need to be solved before the big reveal.
This book is a romantic suspense novel to get lost in and one that would be great for your next book club pick. There is so much to discuss. The Catch, is a story with believable characters, a splash of romantic, that has more turns, twists, and sudden stops. What’s not to like?

The Catch by Lisa Harris is the third in the US Marshals series. The entire series is fantastic, and I recommend starting with book one. The Catch is intense and fast paced. Deputy US Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn team up again, this time to find a missing woman and an endangered child. But the case isn’t straightforward, and they find themselves on another manhunt. Madison also deals with the aftermath of finding out who murdered her husband, as well as understanding her increasing attraction to Jonas.
This book is exciting and chock full of plot twists. The Catch puts readers in the center of the action. But this story gives a lot of closure. Madison is finally able to learn the truth about her husband’s murder, and readers will love seeing the conclusion of the will they/won’t they get together relationship of Madison and Jonas. I highly recommend this series for fans of action, suspense and a little bit of a sweet romance.
I received an ebook review copy of this book through Revell and NetGalley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own.
Fans of Lisa Harris and Suspense will not be disappointed with this final book in the series.
This series needs to be read in order, since this last book concludes a mystery and romance thread which starts in book one, and spoilers will be evident.
The action was never ending, fast paced and I was on my edge of my seat for most of this story. The mystery about Ava which started and ended in book three, was also interesting and a few plot twists not expected. I enjoyed how the author caught the reader up through changing to Ava's POV.
“I was also reminded that God is like our rope and harness. He didn’t give us a spirit of fear. He calls us to trust him. And I’m not just talking about when climbing.”
I loved that this series focused only on Maddison and Jonas from book one through to book three. Sometimes you meet characters who needs more than one book and Maddison and Jonas' story would have felt rushed if it was settled with only one book. Though, I did love Tucker which we met in book three and would have loved a story for him.
*I received a complimentary copy from the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.*
There is nothing better than a book filled with suspense, action and surprises. This story definitely checks all those boxes. I loved how the author grabs your attention right away with intense scenes and characters that are easy to follow.
Now I can tell you all about the book but that can easily be read by the synopsis. I want to focus on a few things. I enjoyed that there were two stories going on at the same time which tied nicely together. It always amazes me how an author’s imagination works and how creative they can be.
I adored Madison and immediately understood how much trauma she has endured in her life. Grieving is a slow process and she is having a hard time trying to get through each day. Her job does help her focus on other things and I loved how fiercely committed she is to her work. Danger seems to follow her and just when I thought her story was coming to a close, the author drops an unexpected twist.
There are a few other characters in the book that are worth mentioning . Jonas is working closely with Madison to keep a woman safe who has been trying to keep a low profile. Her identity will have a domino affect on several people. Let’s not forget about a judge who finds himself in a big mess with only one way out which includes murder. Well there you have it. A book that has the makings of a great movie which I would pay to see. The author uses faith in the story which directs characters to trust Him to keep them safe. I am pleased with the ending and am looking forward to the next book written by this author.
I received a copy of this book from the Librarything Early Reader Program. The review is my own opinion.
Crackling with tension, this suspense-filled book had me captivated from beginning to end. The final book in the U.S. Marshals series, this one tied everything together and was a satisfying conclusion to an intriguing set of books. In this latest book, deputy U.S. Marshals Madison James and Jonas Quinn are tasked to find a missing babysitter and her charge before notorious and ruthless criminals find her and kill her. Ava is definitely on the run and doesn’t know who she can trust. Her cleverness and ability to stay just out of reach of the criminals and the U.S. Marshals contributed to the fast pace and the non-stop action of the story. There were various sub-plots, most notably the fact that Madison is still searching for the person who killed her husband Luke and wants to close the book on that chapter of her life so that she can move forward. The romance is hovering over the surface, just enough to tease and to let the readers know that love is ready to come on the scene. With a complex plot and a compelling mystery within a mystery, this book was intense and absorbing. The characters were well-rounded and have demonstrated growth and change throughout the series. Nevertheless, this book can be read as a standalone with no difficulty since everything is explained well and all of the loose ends are tied up nicely in a very satisfying conclusion. In the genre of Christian Romantic Suspense, this book includes all that I want to read, with a little romance and a lot of suspense and a totally clean read. The suspense kept me reading. Let’s face it! Who doesn’t want a baby to be found safe and sound? The pleasures that reading this book gave me are innumerable; it was my “Calgon, take me away” book and I enjoyed every minute I spent within its pages. I was captured by the characters and felt as though they became my friends to whom I gave unsolicited advice, trying to help them not to get killed, of course. Fans of romantic suspense will not want to miss out on this conclusion to a fantastically mesmerizing series! Disclaimer Disclosure of Material Connection: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Revell via Netgalley as part of the Revell Reads Blogger Tour. I also received a hard copy of the book from the author as part of her review team. Finally, I pre-ordered my own copy because I love this author’s books and collect them. With all that being said, I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions expressed are my own. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission’s 16 CFR, Part 255, “Guides Concerning the Use of Testimonials and Endorsements in Advertising.”
Wow, what a fast-paced book that will keep you on the edge of your seat.
It seemed like there were two, and even three, plot lines going on at the same time. I was wondering what was going on and how did all of this connect, if they did? It was really interesting and a new way to put a book together.
If you like romantic suspense, with heavy of the suspense, I am sure you will enjoy this book. I recommend you read the whole series so you can fully enjoy Madison’s storyline but you can read this one its own.
A copy of this book was given to me through the publisher. All opinions are my own.
What an awesome wrap up to the US Marshals Series. This book has it all…page turning suspense, mystery, murder, kidnapping and twists and turns galore. It is one that I did not want to put down and was sad when it ended, but I have a feeling we are going to see some of these characters in a new series. I love Lisa Harris’ books. This whole series is one of my favorites and I love these two main characters, Jonas and Madison, and their final ending. I received a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher with no requirement for a positive review. All opinions expressed are my own.
"The Catch" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. This is the third book in a series and continues the story of US Marshals Madison and Jonas, but you can understand what's going on without reading the previous books. However, this book wrapped up some ongoing events from the previous books (like the mystery of who killed Madison's husband), so it'd be more satisfying to read the books in order.
The main characters reacted realistically to events. Madison continued to struggle with the uncertainty of who shot her and the insecurity that created. Madison and Jonas worked together to find the missing baby and his babysitter before the bad guys. They followed up on the clues to find the missing child and uncover the truth about the murders. They worked well together and trusted the other's skills and instincts. The high level of suspense came from trying to find the targets before the bad guys and the dangers of the job.
Madison and the babysitter talked about how one can trust God when it seems like everything is going wrong and when loved ones died. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I recommend this exciting suspense novel.
I received an ebook review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley.
This series definitely deserves a 5 star rating! I loved every minute of this fast action novel! Wonderful characters and a fascinating plot that kept my attention the whole way through. I finished this in one day. I simply couldn't put it down! This has been the best series ever by Lisa Harris! Just wow! I am a little sad because I didn't want this series to end because I enjoyed it so much! Books like these are for my keeper shelf. Thank for a wonderful adventure Mrs. Harris! I'm looking forward to seeing what u come put with next I highly recommend!
The Catch was definitely my least favorite in the series, and I didn't like it overall. Although the main focus of the suspense plot was to locate a missing woman and child, the setup and backstory to it, involving a love triangle with a married man and his mistress, irked me.
Unlike the other books in this series, this story definitely held a narrative that wanted the readers to be sympathetic to the mistress, which I wasn't. It felt like the narrative wanted me to excuse her wrong behavior, although she wasn't penitent except when confronted and relied heavily on a victim role (both in her backstory and how the suspense played out) for the conclusion to feel satisfying. To that point, the conclusion felt really convenient and implausible, especially when you consider the objectives/state of each person in the triangle in the beginning and compare it to the ending.
*Spoilers* For example, Myra had an advantage over Becca from a prestige and legal standpoint - and used it to her advantage by pressuring Becca to sign over her rights to her son. She hired a kidnapper to take Ava and Becca's son, but had low association with him to ensure she wouldn't be connected or caught. Clearly, Myra's intention was to send Becca away, raise Becca's son as her own, and not be involved in any criminal charges. Those objectives completely contradict the conclusion that Myra shot at Becca first, especially since she had an advantage and didn't want criminal implications associated with her, such as killing someone in her own house. So, it makes no sense for Myra to fire the gun, especially considering Myra's tactical approach to start.
It also felt that way with the judge framing Becca in a way that showed she didn't act in self-defense. It was way too convenient. Since the identity of the killer hadn't been revealed yet, he would have had to immediately conclude that Becca killed her and then take his wife's gun away to ensure Becca's actions were viewed as pre-mediatitve or as manslaughter. Not to mention the convenience of not being able to find the second bullet hole, which the judge didn't know was evidence already discovered or not. In which case, he basically had to surmise who the killer was and then gamble that the police wouldn't find contradicting evidence at the scene of the crime to prove their was a second gun. This entire plotline supported the narrative that Becca was a poor mistress, innocent of wrongdoing in the crime scene, and should be released because she was the victim in this whole situation. It was way too convenient, and this narrative irritated me. *Spoilers End*
I wasn't a fan of anyone in this love triangle affair, but I definitely didn't appreciate the sense of Becca's actions being excused or brushed aside for the ending. Also, the sense of remorse or penitence that the narrative implied Becca had seemed insincere because of her desire for the judge, her son, and herself to become a family near the end of the book (since the pesky wife was out of the way and only thing stopping them from being happy and a family- my words). This is what made this book a two star read for me, for the most part.
Additionally, the overarching mystery of this series was wrapped up in a implausible way, seemingly for a more shock factor ending.
*Spoilers* I thought it didn't make sense for the real killer to come out of the woodwork and reveal themselves to the protagonist when nobody questioned the scapegoat killer and nobody suspected the real killer either. The reveal was also done in a way that if the killer murdered the protagonist, they would be implicated or suspected because of their familial ties to the location the protagonist was lured too. It didn't make sense, especially since the killer was tactical and not sloppy. The killer spent the majority of this book series being 2 steps ahead and outsmarted everyone by concealing their identity in Luke's murder and the shooting of Madison in her own house. For the killer to so blatantly reveal themselves in a place where they have personal ties makes no sense, especially if they wanted to get away with it. One might excuse the lapse by saying they were crazy, but it doesn't match the skill and intelligence the killer had exhibited so far up to the climax/conclusion of book 3. This took me out of the story and didn't have a seamless logical flow, where everything fell into place. Overall, it felt like a questionable conclusion rather than a satisfying one to a mystery stretched over 3 books. *Spoilers End*
Overall, The Catch was a miss for me.
