A Rich Man's Wife 2: the Finale

Rate this book
"She was the bane of my existence. Meeting her had been nothing but suffering because it had only left me in a painful need that was never fulfilled." – Law

Law and Zuri met in the most unconventional way, but their connection was one of storybooks. It was genuine, poetic, and undeniable. However, haters will always ruin some shit. Learning what truly sent Law her way, Zuri cut off all ties with the man that had finally reminded her of what truly being unconditionally loved felt like.

Now, she is starting all over. She has divorced her cheating husband and exiled Law out of her life. She’s met a new man and is so ready for new beginnings. Yet, once again, haters despise seeing you happy. At a family dinner, her own sister spills some tea that is so hot that it will burn an irreparable hole in Zuri’s family and her heart. A family member’s unbelievable betrayal leaves Zuri reeling with despair. However, that is only the start of the whirlwind of treachery, scandal, and drama that’s engulfed in this finale.

Is kinship strong enough to birth forgiveness for unthinkable betrayal? Will Law gain his freedom in time to get his girl before she falls in love with her new beau? Those questions and so many more will be answered in A Rich Man’s Wife 2!

Author of Urban Chick Lit, Erotica, and Contemporary Urban Fiction... Jessica N. Watkins was born April 1st in Chicago, Illinois. She obtained a Bachelors of Arts with Focus in Psychology from DePaul University and Masters of Applied Professional Studies with focus in Business Administration from the like institution. Working in Hospital Administration for the majority of her career, Watkins has also been an author of fiction literature since the young age of nine. Eventually she used writing as an outlet during her freshmen year of high school as a single parent: “In the third grade I entered a short story contest with a fiction tale of an apple tree that refused to grow despite the efforts of the darling main character. My writing evolved from apple trees to my seventh and eighth grade classmates paying me to read novels I had written about kids our age living the lives our parents wouldn’t dare let us”. At the age of twenty-eight, Watkins’ chronicles have matured into steamy, humorous, and realistic tales of women's literature. She hopes that The Epitome of Femistry series will successfully emulate ideal femininity while tackling stereotypes, familiar heartache, and relatable distress in a humorous, sophisticated, and erotic fashion.

This was SUCH a great read!!! What a ride! I enjoyed book 1 more only because the twists and turns were so unexpected and kept me on the edge of my seat. This book was really good but it was more so about all of the secrets from book 1 being exposed. Now don’t get me wrong there were plenty of omg moments in this book too but mostly from how everyone reacted and the griminess that followed.

Karma came around and was nothing nice to Rashaad and Zoey! Whew she knocked Zoey right on her @$$. Law was a bit childish in certain parts of the book and how he dealt with Zuri before they reconnected. Zina and Zedah lawd if the universe gave me a sister like them… throw her away!! I don’t even feel bad for Zadeh though because karma paid her tail a visit too.

Bianca, Ox and Meghan were some real ones and they definitely brought a good vibe to the story.

Whit girl!!! Why?!? You set yourself up and knew how that man was coming 🤦🏽‍♀️🤧

I HIGHLY recommend this series!! You will not be disappointed at all!!! This was my first read by Jessica and if this is how she’s coming in the rest of her books, she has a fan for life!

I Enjoyed It

I had to give the finale 5 stars. I really enjoyed Law and Zuri’s story and baby - the dysfunction in Zuri’s family was outrageous! I was bedside myself. So much happened- it’s hard to even summarize it 😂
What I will say is that this is my second read from Jessica and I love the way she writes the lady friends of the main character. I was holding my breath waiting for Bianca to cross Zuri in some way but she never did. She was really a friend and I loved how she rode for her girl.
Zoey really made my nerves bad. Worst daughter ever. Like…miss honey how are you this evil??? #DoNotFreeHer
Zuri also worked my nerves a little bit. I really wanted her to take a minute to find herself without a man but the heart wants what it wants I guess 🤷🏾‍♀️

Yaaasss honey👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾!!!

Queen Jessica N. Watkins has done it again, Oh-kay!!!
Listen here, although the lover inside of me would've preferred if all the liars and schemers were killed off in book one, or even in the beginning of 2😂, so that I could enjoy their love a lil longer, that ending was the ish😂😂😂😂.
This was one drama filled, lying, scheming, backstabbing a** beautiful love story💕
Whew Chill, that dang Zoey, Zadah, Rashaad, Jeezy, Lobo and, Whit got EVERYTHING THEY DESERVED, PERIODT! Zoey did all that ish stunting like her momma was the broke one, thinking of 5,000 ways to screw her over, all for almighty 💵😔. All that had happened and the time she gotta serve and she stilled ain't humbled her narcissistic mind enough to apologize to her MOMMA😡. Thought she was bought that life😂. Lobo ain't stand a chance. Rashaad thought he was gonna get to live free and continue spreading that community🍆, NOT😂😂😂! Whit & Jeezy really didn't think that plan all the way through😔. They weren't expecting King Law to hit them streets again, so soon. Jeezy past caught up to him and Whit didn't know how to fly under the radar after stalking millions. Like how you leave yo babies sis👀🤔? Then there's Zadah😔. She really thought she had won the prize by crushing her sister like that. Joke was definitely on her and her ol bitter miserable soul😔.
Rodger & Ma😳😜😂! Ma say I want somebody too, everybody else getting the🍆😂😂😂.
Bianca is still bestie goals💕. She was the epitome of a sister/friend, good, bad, our indifferent, she riding. I don't think Zuri would've pulled through had she not had her friendship. Glad she found love too💕
Ox & Megan and Reese & Shay were dope. They gave Law a glimpse at the type of forever he never thought he needed until meeting Zuri💕.
Zina unintentionally shared a whole lot of Zuri's business with her niece without thinking that Zoey wasn't the niece she used too know. She did her best to help Zoey, but the girl was just greedy, but couldn't get a bag to save her life. She did her sister wrong, but she learned from that ish and being pushed away by Zuri. Her growth was amazing🙌🏾.
Moment of silence for Dom😔. He didn't deserve what happened to him😢.
Stacy was such an amazing woman. Despite her circumstances she stayed smiling.
Law & Zuri😍💕! These two went through so much bs while running from each other and the feelings that were burning deep inside😔. Thnx to that extra push from Stacy Law went and got his girl. She was still trying to run, I mean who could blame her after the ish show of a marriage she just got out of, and the betrayal she suffered at the hands of her husband and daughter. But Bianca was there to remind her that Law was giving her everything she desired and then some without asking for it. Kingston was that icing on the cake for them😏💕.
IT'S A MUST READ🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

Okay, part two continued the same trend as book one. The nastiness multiplied this time.. My goodness. Where are all the beautiful black families in these stories?

Whit and Jeezy deserved death for that kind of betrayal...Zoey was so destructive until she got exactly what she deserved being that she wouldn't take her aunts advice...Zina and Zadah really got on my nerves with all of their back and forth.. I'm glad Zuri gave Law a real chance to love her

Drama to HEA finally

Whew the drama ensued and karma was served.

Zuri low key wore me out. I didn't really care for her, she was just wishy washy to me. That whole situation with Dom, just felt selfish because her heart belonged to Law. He was grown though and made his intentions known, he deserved better 🤷🏾‍♀️. She swore she stayed with Rashaad for her daughter, but she enjoyed the lifestyle too and all that bs passed right on down to her daughter. Then when she finally got with Law she was so hesitant, I understood she was scared, but this man had so much more to lose and I didn't like the way she moved.

Zoey, the most ungrateful daughter in the world, was a fking earth disturber. Just eager to wreak havoc and cause drama and conflict rather than owning her shii. She got her karma and she deserved it all and the little bit#$ showed no remorse. I really didn't understand why she was the way she was.
I wish they would've dove a little more into Zoey mentally. Also Rashaad's fraud as$ I wanted to see him crying in jail 😭🤣 he deserved his karma too.

There was still so much going on in this finale. It was so serious as they navigated through so much drama. The ending though I cackled do hard. Solid read!

This was a mediocre addition to a poorly executed tale of betrayals. Unfortunately, the heroine is a likeable character that I could root for; hence, my anticipation was for the story to just end rather than me being interested and excited for what would happen next.

Frankly, I too often thought the author just wasn't invested in telling a great story but wrote the book to squeeze out more book sales. In fact, there were too many chapters from book 1 that were inserted into the beginning this book.

Zuri, the self-righteous (like in the first book had sex too soon) had sex with Dom the first time that he was is in her house while she was supposedly drunk. Of course, the first time that Law comes to her home it's 5:00 am at the precise time that she is embracing, kissing, and saying good-bye to Dom at her front door. This is just too coincidental, unimaginative and frankly I call bullsh*t. It's simply an example of lazy writing by the author.

Zuri is too old for her negative "victim" posturing. She went from being a teenage hustling booster who grew up in humble beginning, with sisters who betray and argue with one another on a constant basis to having weak, and whiny excuse making dialogues. Her character was portrayed as pathetic rather than a strong woman who demonstrated strength and abilities to thrive. With a college degree, savings, and a job, she is too scared to leave her loveless marriage from a man who has no regard for her. In fact, her husband is a serial cheater, and her genius daughter is supposed to be going away to college on countless scholarships. GIRL BYE, miss me with the bullsh*t. It's about the money and it has always been about the money.

In fact, valuing money was the primary message taught to Zuri's daughter. There was quality time spent between mother and daughter. There was no mother-daughter spa day, no family dinner, no trips to the mall, no parent-teacher conference. In fact, there was a competition between Zuri and her husband on who could give the most expensive gift to her daughter. There was too much focus on giving Zuri's daughter lavish trips and designer wear. As a result, her daughter was spoiled rotten, materialistic, valued having money above all else; money drove her choices and action. Yet, everyone is shocked at the lengths she went to chase the mighty dollar. The tough love shown was definitely appropriate and l-o-n-g overdue.

Her husband was in the streets and submerged in white collar crimes and headed to jail while Law was not convicted of a crime and free from bars. But Zuri rather spends her time with some random dude instead of the man that she loves who may be the father to her child (eye rolls).

It's moving too fast was not said when Zuri slept with him on day one. Zuri just invents problems, so she can whine. But alas she finally allows herself to embrace love.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Zuri Ex Husband Rashaad Wasn't Shit...He Got What He Deserved. That Was So Low Of Him To Sleep With His Wife's Daughter. I'm Glad Zuri Met Law...No It Wasn't Coventional But They Were Made For One Another. Law Loved Him Some Zuri. I Wished Unc Would Of Been Able To Get Out Of Prison. Unc Looked At Law Like A Son And Law Looked At Unc Like A Dad. I Hope There Is A Spin Off To See How Everyone's Life Turned Out. Zoey Got What She Deserved...Like, She Had No Remorse With Sleeping With Her Mother's Husband. Whitney Got What She Deserved Too...Like, She Started Sleeping With Jeezy...She Stole From Law And Didn't Expect For Him To Get Out Of Prison But They Let A Real Nigga Go...Yeah Her Disloyal Ass Wasn't Expecting That. GOD Don't Like Ugly And That's Why Jeezy Didn't Make It From When He Got Shot. I'm Glad Law Got Out The Game Though. I Would Love To Read More About His Boy Ox And His Girl. I'm Loving My Favorite Couple Though...Zuri & Law.

⭐️⭐️⭐️

I’m slightly torn, on the one hand this read like the author addressed all the scandal. But more in a bullet point style. And some of the handling of certain situations felt robotic. Can’t explain it really, other than to say… Dom and the girl Persia (I think that was her name) were obviously place makers. Nothing about their entry into the story felt purposeful other than to be just something to say.

Even the outcome for Dom was a wasteful storyline. And the insurance thing really made me roll my eyes for several reasons. Because girl… what?! So he loved you much he named you a beneficiary after less than 6 months! And her spiteful butt would keep the money and argued with his sister’s very VALID point for what reason! You already acknowledged he wasn’t your forever. I wasn’t feeling Zuri at all with that issue.

And homeboy over here seeing her once or twice with someone or while pregnant and never considered the possibility of it being his. 🗣️Sir! The whole thing was off and dumb.

So back to my original point; the other thing that’s conflicting for me with this read is… I appreciated everyone getting what they deserved. Because Zoey had lost her ever lasting mind. And the sisters were freaking insane. The level of hateful and spiteful behavior was at an all time high.

Over all I like this authors work. The best part of the book was the ending… heeeyyyy Mr. Rodger! And I see you Ma #iykyk.

WE GOT THIS!

As the family get together, Zuri, Zachary & Trey, ZIna and her kids and Zoey with their Dad, Zadah is hating on Zuri and decides to bust her bubble. Her husband Rashad has been creeping and with ??? Yassss Zoey! Tuckin her tail between her legs and running from her mom, Zoey does a few house jumps before her life takes a whole different turn. Meanwhile Rashaad is going down with the feds and it will not be pretty! Zuri is devastated and finds herself in the arms of Dom. Meanwhile fine as wine Law is out and he is on the war path to get his woman back but when he pulls up on Zuri he sees Dom and then he sees a pregnant woman? throwing himself back to an old flame Persia but his heart still is with Zuri. As Whit leaves her kids and Law she takes a few expensive from him. Everyone knows you cannot do law but there seems to be a few that have forgotten. Life is changing, Zuri is disappointed in her sister, her marriage and her daughter. Still thinking if Law, When tragedy hits Zuri’s door, somehow Law will be there. As they rekindle, other tragedies will occur but it’s time to grow up and let folks be grown. Zoe’s is bitter, mad and will make her bed and lie in it. Who will get their happily ever after especially when Zadah finds out her hubby is creep real close to home. Great story!

HEA

This may not be a fair comparison, but for some reason, I was not as much of a fan of Law in this book as the first. And I think it's because Dom came by and gave Zuri gentleness, compassion, acceptance and genuine love. Zuri genuinely loves Law and vice versa, so I am not mad at how the story unfolds, it just made me look at Law a little differently. I also had a hard time reconciling Zuri and Zoey's relationship. Where did she go wrong? This was a GREAT series, well written with fun, crazy and diabolical characters. I was just expecting a little more from Law as a man. When he referred to his oldest children as his "other kids" I was like, what? To me, even though Law set out to do all he talked about doing upon release, he still felt different outside of those prison walls to me.

A Rich Man's Wife! Whew Chile!!

Love, deceit and betrayal hurt and can break even the strongest of people but when it's done by family or someone who's supposed to love you how do you recover?

A young mothers determination to make a better life for her and her baby girl; sisters reeling from the abandonment of a mother; deep-rooted jealousy amongst sisters who weren't taught their worth or how to love not only themselves but each other. A husband that couldn't see past his own greed to not destroy everything he touches and the ultimate betrayal by a daughter you sacrificed your life for.

After all the heartbreak came love that mended the broken pieces of the past for something spectacular and amazing!

Is kinship strong enough to birth forgiveness for unthinkable betrayal?? Read this series to find out! 🔥🔥🔥

This Should Be A Movie

This is my 2nd book my Jessica N. Watkins and I am very happy, to be a new follower..

The story has drama, action, romance, comedic moments, and sexy time.

The two main characters each had their own demons to battle separately, before they could find their way back to each other.

The h was wishy-washy at times, and seemed entirely tpp judgemental of H background and previous lifestyle. Her primary interest for most of the men in her life seem to be surrounded by financial comfort and adoration. She didn't seem overly attached to any of them honestly, because it was pretty easy for her to move on past Law.. even after finding out he'd been released.

Other than that, I definitely recommend the book. It will keep you entertained and the plot twist alone, would make it an interesting movie.

Great job, Ms. Watkins.

Rich Man's Wife 2

So when we left off on book one Law was waiting to her about his sentence and Zuri had been thrown a hell of a wrench with finding out her beloved daughter slept with her husband.

This sequel pick up right where it finished and boy was it the juicy ride. I was glad that those who had wrong both Law and Zuri got what was coming to them in spades. It saddened me that Zuri wasn't able to repair her relationship her daughter but on the flip sided Zoey wasn't trying to humble herself and women up. So sis got what was coming to her. Glad Zuri was able to heal and find new form family through her friends and even laws children. Sad to see this end but I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Can't get any messier

These people were as messy as it gets!! Dishonesty and betrayal abounded and anyone could get it. Family and friendship meant absolutely nothing. I felt bad for Zoey, especially since Zuri was responsible for the person she became. But Zoey was too grown to apologize or even talk to her mother so I understood Zuri's reaction. I rooted for Zuri and Law despite how they met but in the end, I wasn't feeling them either. They were the only ones that didn't pay for their dirt.
Good read, chock full of drama I could only tolerate as fiction. Errors and incorrect names lost this author a star.

A definite must read!

I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. From beginning to the end, it was just interesting, page turning, the storyline was well developed and well written and executed. I just could not put it down. It definitely needed more stars. This was a book that I didn’t mind if it had another part to it. I loved the chemistry that Law and Zuri had….they were definitely soulmates. I’m happy she finally found and got her happily ever after. Loved it! Fantastic read!

GREAT READ

I enjoyed this series. It definitely had its share of drama. Zuri went through so much and it's sad that it came from the people she loved. I'm glad she was able to get back to a happy place with Law. He was more of a man than Rashaad. I was glad Rashaad and Zoey got what they deserved. I loved Bianca, she was Zuri's ride or die and I'm glad Zuri had her to lean on. In the end, those who were up to no good received their karma and those that mattered, bonded and created lasting relationships.

Fantastic finale!!

I loved this finale ! I only gave it 4 stars because" I " didn't like how long it took for them to run back into each other... That Zoey..... she deserved everything she got. I wouldn't have sent her $1 while she was in there! If Spoiled and entitled was a person 🙄 Bianca was a Friend anybody would have!
Rashad got exactly what he deserved as well ! Law is life!! I commend how Law loved Zuri 😍 I highly recommend 👌
