I'd watched the kdrama before reading this and loved the school timeline a lot better than the adult, post-breakup one, so this was perfect to read and I loved how each of the main characters got their fair share of story-telling time with very subtle character development. The art style is beautiful too. I just wish it was longer.

i watched the kdrama back when it came out and while this is really different, the dynamic between the characters makes it feel a lot more familiar. and the colours!!! the colours are so pretty

En la Preparatoria Midsummer, Yeonsu Guk una chica de 19 años que vive solamente con su abuela y es una persona escasa de amistades, es la mejor de su clase, mientras que Wung Choi, un chico de la misma clase que Yeonsu Guk, hijo de los dueños de varios restaurantes de la zona, que le encanta dibujar (aunque siempre dibuja siempre lo mismo) ocupa el último lugar de la clasificación general. Y esta diferencia no solo se aplica a sus calificaciones, sus personalidades son diametralmente opuestas: Yeonsu es práctica y estricta; Wung es un haragán despreocupado. Cuando un productor les propone hacer un documental sobre su vida escolar durante un mes, al par de estudiantes no les entusiasma la idea de pasar tanto tiempo juntos. No obstante, a medida que avanza ese mes, empiezan a descubrir cualidades ocultas de manera mutua. Aunque una cosa es segura: ¡jamás olvidarán este verano!
Para ser 1/2 me ha sorprendido demasiado, a pesar por la cantidad tan poca de capítulos, me ha marcado de algunas manera que no esperaba, y me encanta cuando me sorprende de esa manera.
Con Yeonsu Guk, realmente he profundizado con algunos pensamientos de ella, y también una que otra admiración de mi parte se ha llevado, realmente me parece sorprendente lo fuerte que es cuando ya la llegas a conocer al menos un poco, ver como a pesar de todas las críticas que le dan a su alrededor, trata de seguir adelante sin que les afecte, es sorprendente de alguna manera.
Los protagonistas me parecen que tiene personalidades muy diferentes, y por ello muy chocantes, son tan diferentes, pero a la vez tienen muchas cosas que los asemejan, y es… bonito de alguna manera retórica

Nah amigo, tenés que cerrar el estadio. Pensé que el Webtoon no le iba a hacer justicia al K-Drama Y TERMINÓ SIENDO INCLUSO MEJOR nah amigo, increíble. El dibujo es HERMOSO y el slow burn está excelentemente relatado. Incluso sabiendo cómo iba a terminar, me hicieron sentir cositas como si fuera la primera vez que leo la historia xdd peak romance y peak slow burn right here.

The story begins with starring in a viral documentary of their school days for years, prolific illustrator Choi Ung and PR executive Kook Yeon-Soo are forced to come face to face in front of the camera once again. This time, their friend Ji-Ung is directing the documentary and he carries a lot of unresolved feelings towards Yeon-Soo. Also in the mix is NJ, a very popular Idol who is increasingly attracted to Choi-Ung's artistry and quiet charm.
In the school setback scene, Yeon-soo's initial shock at Choi Ung being the last-ranked student soon diminishes the interest from both parties. At first they are almost disgusted by how different they are, but this is also what brings them together. "Why is he living such a grueling life? Early birds just get tired earlier," Ung said.
As the show moves between the past and the present, the touch is beautiful. We see some similarities, be it the library book Choi Ung borrows, or how she waits outside her house.
Perhaps the fact that despite all their conflicts, Ung and Yeon-Soo never turn toxic. While they may struggle with love, anxiety, and a host of mixed emotions, they are surrounded by the healthiest group of friends and family. There are no big bads here, and the stumbling blocks in their relationship are just reality on offer.
The languid and unhurried pace of the show is not a hindrance. More often than not, we see love stories - especially those featuring adult actors playing high school students - enter cringe territory. But here, you're just left beaming over the small act, and waiting for the 'big' confession at the end.
Readers can easily relate to every word that is said, and the story has been turned into a popular and enjoyable drama, with the character portrayed in the story making many people want a partner like the character ung because ung is a typical man who can flatten his woman.

A história começa quando um documentário quer gravar a vida de dois colegiais durante um mês – a estudante com melhores notas e o estudante com piores notas. Eles são, aparentemente, opostos em tudo – ela é dedicada, possui apenas sua avó como apoio familiar e não é vista como bem quista entre os demais de sua classe; já ele, não sente necessidade de se esforçar, leva (quase) tudo com desapego, possui um grande amigo e um apoio familiar grande e abastada.
De início, eles não conseguem e nem querem passar tempo de qualidade juntos. Mas conforme o passar dos dias, eles veem um ao outro para além da superfície. Ela vê que ele é esforçado em relação ao seu desenho, que ele possui consideração pelos outros e que ela pode expandir seu círculo social. Ele vê que ela é delicada, passa a apreciar o esforço e a dedicação que ela põe nos estudos e na possibilidade de interagir com alguém que te instiga.
O quadrinho não tem muitas páginas e se encontra gratuitamente no webtoon. O escritor possui uma forma bem simples e envolvente de mostrar as conexões dos personagens e o amadurecimento de cada um (creio que três personagens são o foco disso).

Me gustó muchísimo. Es corto, pero la historia se sintió como si me lo hubiera leído en más de 3 días.
Ambos protagonistas me encantaron. Un claro ✨"enemies to lovers✨tenían muy buena conexión 👏🏻
Algo que si me entristeció fue la vida del mejor amigo del
wung. Se le vio mucho potencial y hasta los últimos capítulos se le vio un desarrollo. Muy buen personaje aunque no sea el protagonista.🥺🙌🏻
Sencillamente, es un buen libro. Tiene polos opuestos
complementarios y una buena trama en cuanto a historia 😌
Es muy rápido de leer. Yo creo que no me tarde ni 24 horas

super cute slice-of-life and romance manhwa. i really enjoyed it considered how i spent my daily pass on it. i think the beginning reads like a ghibli movie. HOWEVER, i think the end was a little rushed. the unexplored side characters were introduced a little unnecessarily. i wish it would have been more of a slowburn. i want to know wung's motivation to not study, why he draws, he's almost never vulnerable to yeonsu and i want to see their growth from just little crushes to something deeper. especially with a woman like yeonsu, you KNOW she won't fall for just anyone.

So cute!! I like how they talked about the guy not being a good student and failing most of the time but he ended up turning it all around by simply meeting that one person who uplifted him and changed his view of himself since he himself+people around him always referred to him as dumb and slow

"Yeonsu est la première élève du lycée, Woong, lui, est bon dernier, et on va leur demander de passer un mois ensemble pour un documentaire, un mois qui verra peu à peu leurs préjugés disparaître et les deux héros se rapprocher..."
Mais que s'est-il exactement passé entre vous ?
"Je connaissais déjà l'histoire mais j'ai adoré la redécouvrir sous le forme d'un manhwa, même si le drama y est resté très fidèle et qu'il n'y a donc pas de grandes surprises. J'ai aimé l'humour qui s'en dégage, les dessins aussi alors que je n'étais pas certaines que ce serait le cas, et le caractère des deux protagonistes, touchants et énervants à la fois. C'est une lecture parfaire pour l'été et plutôt rapide, puisqu'il n'y a que deux tomes, même si chacun est assez dense. Je n'aurais pas été contre un troisième cela dit, qui aurait permis de développer certains éléments comme la raison pour laquelle Woong ne travaille pas, et pourquoi il dort souvent la journée. Heureusement, il y a le drama pour ça !"

"Finalement, ça reste une histoire assez classique et maintenant que je l'ai lue, je trouve le drama encore plus intelligent puisqu'il continue l'histoire de Yeonsu et Woong à l'âge adulte, en tissant sa trame à partir d'éléments qui étaient déjà présents ici, parfois même seulement de petit détails, et le résultat est parfaitement cohérent. Shared reading with my daughter - who is all about k-dramas, k-pop and whatnots - and it ended happily for me, because I rather enjoyed it (all things considered).
Which is not the case with the many K-pop groups she inflicts on me all day long.
Now I'm not going to pretend it's the series of the year. It uses all the clichés and tropes of the rom-com genre, Korean webtoon style, and it's obvious that it won't revolutionise the genre in any way.
However, the characters are likeable - even if Guk starts off as a typical ice cold bitch - there are a few funny situations and the computer-assisted drawing style is rather pleasant, even if a bit cold and rigid at times.
All in all, it's a neat little rom-com perfectly suited to fans of the genre, provided they don't have unreasonable expectations.
The original webtoon has been cropped to fit a standard reading format - and that's why I was able to read it, I'm not used to scrolling - and it's pretty decent. The rom-com genre lends itself rather well to this kind of adaptation.
I know there's also a k-drama of this title but I think I'll pass on that one.

Me gustó muchísimo, yo ya había visto el drama pero creo que ambas versiones de la historia se complementan muy bien. Disfrute especialmente las escenas históricas (me parece que era la época de Joseon) de ella como general y él por ahí haciendo lo que puede. Me encantó el arte, en serio, Yeosun y Wung se ven super preciosos, cada panel me perdía la respiración por lo bellos que eran. Creo que hay una segunda parte, espero pronto la traduzcan a inglés o español. :]

Quería leerlo antes de ver el Kdrama. El arte es PRE-CIO-SO. Wung Choi es sin duda mi personaje faavorito y tengo mil ganas de verlo en el drama.
Debo admitir que tenía las expectativas altísimas, y la historia no fue del todo como esperaba. Sinceramente Yeonsu Guk no me llegó a convencer del todo, pero ya veremos como se desenvuelve en la serie.
100% si quieres un romance ligero, tierno, veraniego y con un arte PRECIOSO

Corta, sin atados ni problemas innecesarios... está bien, puede que le esté tirando flores porque es un enemies to lovers pero ya todo el mundo sabe que soy fan de eso💋. Amo a los protagonistas, pese a mantenerse con sus características no se me hacen insoportables. Me gusta el estilo de dibujo soft que acompaña a la historia la cual no tiene un gran peso.

Me encanta la historia, entiendo las dificultades de Yeonsu para ser como es, para restringirse, ser distante y solo tener un objetivo, me encanta que se hace la dura pero con su abuela se vuelve una cosita tierna, por otro lado aún no entiendo lo que le pasa a Wung, tipo se que él es inteligente, pero por algún motivo no quiere ver más allá por qué es conforme con lo que tiene.

Fue muy corto pero hermoso. La verdad creí que sería tal cual la adaptación, pero después de estar leyendo también los comentarios averigüe que el Kdrama de este webtoon fue la continuación de esta historia.
Y me pareció más hermoso el como el webtoon y el Kdrama se complementaron perfectamente, sin duda de mis favoritos. 💜

This author is my favorite webtoon author by a mile. Their works are always so meaningful and well crafted. I highly recommend Spirit Fingers if you enjoyed this webtoon. This webtoon is great in that it lets the relationship grow naturally and slowly. I enjoyed the kdrama version, but I feel that this version does a better job showing the small moments and subtle emotions.
