He did extensive study about life and happiness, and found the answers in Spiritual teachings and Psychology. With that knowledge, the author could overcome melancholy, and gained almost 100% control over his happiness by the age of 35.

This book presents his discovery in a rational manner, and provides a systematic approach to gain control over your happiness. The author has shared this "Common Man's approach" of being happy, with many real-life examples. The entire process of understanding life and happiness has been broken down into 4 aspects for easy comprehension.

* The first aspect refers to life, which has been explained in a series of 7 steps.
* The second aspect is about the 3 myths that come in the way of learning to be happy.
* The third one refers to the "one Simple Technique" which needs to be mastered to gain control over one's mind.
* The fourth & final aspect refers to the 4 pillars of Happiness, which can be built using the simple technique as a foundation.

Start living happily from now on!

(1) Cross the 7 steps; (2) Break the 3 boulders (aka Myths); (3) Lay the foundation (i.e. Apply the Simple Technique) and (4) Build the 4 Pillars for a happy life!

I found this book to be quite insightful and the techniques mentioned in it, when practiced consciously, will allow us to be happy and less stressed, regardless of what life may throw. The concept of happiness is outlined in a simple and easy to understand manner. Throughout the book the author quotes examples and shares his experiences and that made it more relatable for me. It made me think of some situations I was in and how differently I could have reacted/handled. It encouraged me to do some retrospection and introspection. I know this book will serve as a reference for me and I will be going back to it often. Definitely one to add to your shelf!
