Amazon bestselling author. Lover of mochacinnos. Player of Ice Hockey. Writer of fast-paced, page-turning epic fantasy and paranormal romance.
Coreene's living her best life in Canada, in a house full of teenage drama, with a spoiled Anatolian Shepherd while doing her best to remain immersed in a wild, imaginary world full of mayhem and monsters.
Fury of Persuasion was such a blast of a book. It was a bit different type of tone of the story as this was more of a these are two people that were both kidnapped and find their way out and escape together and find out that they are fated mates through that forced proximity type of situation. The heroine is human but she has some psychic abilities, she has this capability of energy that draws in other dragon shifters to her. She was taken captive, used and abused, and eventually left alone in her cell to practically starve. When she is rescued and joins forces with our hero, the story really becomes elevated. The romance was enjoyable but I didn't quite connect with the relationship aspects as I did some of the other books. However, the plot and storyline were SUPERB as always! I am really fascinated by the dragon lore in this series and how the author has developed this series so far.
Overall I am intrigued for more and fascinated to see what happens next for this group and was such a fun listen.

“The Dragonfury series is a definite keeper.” – Night Owl Reviews, 5 star Top Reviewer Pick
First of all, I was so very excited to be back in the Dragonfury world. This is one of my most favorite Dragon shifter series and this offering did not disappoint.
Vyroth's and Nikki's story was sensual and low angst but action packed. He was protective but not overbearing, sexy, and fierce, but gentle lightning dragonman. Thow in that Scottish Brogue and I am a gonner for him. Nikki/Nicole was a Tazleiah-His Braveheart. Of course she was a High Energy Female- a woman most intune with the Meridian- The source of all life and the source of Dragon kind power/magic. Nikki had survived being abducted and abused by another dragonman but never lost her fight. She was smart, took minimal time to analyze situations and made quick decisions. I loved her.
This story was quick. Fated Mates, gone for each other and full of dragon fighting action with some cool abilities on display. Supernatural powers and Fated Mates are catnip for me. I can't resist them.
We got to catch up with some of the Scotland pack we have already met and also met some new guys that I'm really hoping will find themselves mated to their very own High Energy Female very soon. Who ever is next, I am ready! Happy Reading!

Fury of Persuasion (Dragonfury; Scotland, #4) by Coreene Callahan I can't even!!! I am so happy to be reading a book by Coreene Callahan again. I love her dragons and this is Scottish dragon-warrior Vyroth and Salvage hunter, Nicole Biscayne's story. There are plenty of other dragons here as well as angst, evil, terror, mystery, laughter, tears, new and old friendships, lots of action and plenty of steam to get us to their HEA and leave us wanting more. Reasons I enjoyed this book: Page-turner Steamy Twisted Tear-jerker Unpredictable Easy-to-read Happily Ever After Scary Entertaining Funny Wonderful characters Tragic Action-packed Great world building
Loved going back to the Dragon world! What a high energy book. It has been a minute since we visited this Dragon clan but it was easy to jump right back in. Loved Vyroth and Nikki together. Loved seeing the rest of his clan. And really loved the little easter eggs the author dropped for us about the rest of the Dragon world. I hope we get to see all the rebels united together again the higher power.
It's been a while since I read the first three books about the Scottish Dragons. However, Coreene did not let me down! I dove right back in and was able to follow along with all the action like I just read everything yesterday. So, while reading the series in order is definitely recommended (they are awesome!) it is not required to follow the story. This series is a spin off of Callahan's original Dragonfury series, that takes place in Seattle. One of the members of that pack is Scottish and that led to the Scottish Pack demanding their own side series. What I'm saying is that reading the original Draginfury series is, again, recommended but not required because the Dragonfury Scotland books are about a different pack. That said, being familiar with both series did give me better insight and understanding of the ongoing situations that are part of the undercurrent of the storyline. Coreene does such a great job of explaining some of the key details that reading the earlier stories is not necessary. But I do recommend them! The hero and heroine of Fury of Persuasion are Nicole and Vyroth. Nicole is a wandering beauty from Savannah who is wandering around Europe. She wanders into the wrong place at the wrong time and ends up paying for it with her freedom. She attracted the wrong male's attention. Vyroth has been captured by the same dragons that kidnapped Nicole and finds himself on the brink of death. The two meet and a story full of tight turns and non-stop action ensues. I was glued to the story and read it within less than a day of receiving my ARC. The characters are so well written, especially the males, that you can hear their gruff, growly, deep baritones from the pages of the book. Her heroines are realistic and relatable even if some of the situations they find themselves in (dragons! who knew!) are fantastical. With the two leads in Persuasion, Vyroth has a kindness and understanding that most women would love to find in real life. He understands Nicole has experienced some severe trauma and needs a little space and time to trust. Unfortunately they have very little of either in the beginning which forces Nicole to trust that the male will not hurt her. Vyroth provides as much protection to Nicole as possible and puts her emotional and physical well-being first. He also encourages Nicole to trust not only him but also her instincts, which have been spot on from the start. She's not a fool and recognizes the timing of their feelings for each other is insane but chooses to follow her gut and believe in Vyroth's feelings for her. This allows her to recognize and admit her own feelings for him. As with the other Dragonfuries, Coreene leaves a few threads untied to keep you thinking and guessing about what is coming up next, but overall the book has its HEA for the main couple involved just like her other Dragonfury novels. I love Coreene's writing style and the stories she puts together. They are fast paced, full of action, have witty banter between the main couple and the other dragons in the pack. There are even the occasional laugh out loud moments, depending on which dragon and his female are involved. If you like fantasy, some really steamy romance, loads of suspense and tons of action, I absolutely would recommend both the Dragonfury and Dragonfury Scotland series. ***If you have had any trauma related to rape or kidnapping, be aware that this is a part of the theme in Fury of Persuasion and could trigger strong emotions. I am a survivor and while I always get an immediate sinking in my gut(no matter the author) the incidents in this book or any of the other Dragonfury novels are not explicit in any way and the author does an excellent job of making the woman's strength to go on and survive a key part of her personality. Coreene Callahan has become one of my most favorite authors partially because of her ability to honestly portray the feelings and emotions of a survivor without overly detailing the actual event that takes place, which could cause triggers for some of her readers.

Okay before I dive into this, I need to give my standard notice: I received an early release ARC of this novel in exchange for an honest and fair review.
Alright, now...let's get into the review.
I am DESPERATELY happy to have the Dragonfury boys back in my life as I have been missing them something fierce so I'm loving it that we get back folded into everything with the Scottish boys (because after meeting and falling in love with Forge so long ago, I have a soft spot for the Scot's) and I finished this book in one night...this book is Coreene coming back with a roaring fire for her fans.
In Fury of Persuasion, we get to know Vyroth and immediately...I say, Yum. He also happens to be the brother of Cyprus who we all got to know in Fury of Shadows. To say that he is in the most pleasant of situations when we first meet him would be an understatement.
At the same time, we meet someone that I think us Dragonfury lovers should keep our eyes on Tempel. Cause he already sounds like a SUPER fun and another one of those fellas that I already know I'm gonna fall in love with it.
Vyroth's mate is an amazing and super badass female named Nicole and I really already like her, I could totally see her being good friends with Angela from our NightFury pack mates. Through her, we also meet additional characters that I feel we're going to learn more about in further books too.
I feel like Fury of Persuasion is an amazing book that is setting us up to round that corner so we can get on the path we've been chasing with Book 1. I can't more highly recommend this book, especially if you're a fan of of the Dragonfury series and Coreene.
As you start the book, it becomes obvious to a series reader that the events were set up in the last installment. However, a reiteration of the events leading up to the kidnapping and imprisonment of Vyroth, Nicole and Tempel will quickly get the reader on track. Escape is the first order of business.
There will be some pretty immediate attraction between Vryoth and Nicole. But Nicole is a cautious woman and Vyroth realizes that. Best to let the woman come to the dragon. The pace of the romance is measured, but quick enough in the 237 pages of this story. In the meantime, Vyroth has a nasty kidnapper to track down.
Tempel, a dragon from the Belarus pack, escapes with Vryoth and Nicole. He has his own set of problems. Shared struggles bond the dragons together. Or as Vyroth muses “Nothing better in the world than making a bad-tempered, vicious new friend.” I’m pretty sure Tempel will be featured in a future Dragonfury story.
It’s been a while since I’ve read a Dragonfury book. In fact, Fury of Persuasion is the first of the Scotland series for me. Despite that, it was very easy to get back into the groove. Like all the books in the Dragonfury world, this one features tough, mean, don’t-mess-with-me male dragons and a tough, don’t-mess-with-me female human. So, a little comfort, with a lot of high-flying paranormal dragon action and steamy romance. This is a complete standalone story with a bit of a setup for the next book in the series.
Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy of this book through Booksprout in exchange for my honest review.
Dragonfury series is back! Vyroth (Scottish Clan) is in prison somewhere in Europe; he doesn’t everything about his capture. He could escape except there is a moat of salt water between him and the cell door. And not enough space to change into his dragon shape. He hasn’t been fed in 2 months. His only communication is with another prisoner on the other side of the wall. The communicate via Morse code tapping rocks against their walls. Nicole (Niki) is a bit of a treasure hunter. She has been touring Europe looking for interesting items that have been discarded, then she updates them and sells for a profit. Unfortunately, she made her way to Prague and was snatched up by Dragonmen to service the “needs”. She is one of those rare high-energy females that Dragonmen desire most. With the help of another inmate, Niki helps Vyroth escape. Just who is their jailer? Can Niki trust Vyroth enough to save them both? Can Vyroth persuade Niki to accept everything that a mate can give? I received an advanced copy of this book in return for a fair review. If I had any complaints about this book, it would be that it ended WAY too soon. I definitely want more!
First, it is sooooo marvelous to have another read from Ms. Callahan! Her imagination is unfathomable and her ability to draw, then draw you into, new existences is unmatched!
The story of Vyroth and Nikki is no exception. And before I continue, if you are new to this series, you just have to go back and start from the beginning! You, too, will be sucked in, distracted from all those meaningless tasks you are supposed to be caring for (who needs clean clothes or dishes, anyway???), and lost in the world of Dragonkind!
Vyroth, like many of his kin, is a troubled Dragonman. His past has left him scared, but part of a family/pack that cares for him and is none too pleased when he just disappears. Little do they know, he has been captured and held captive, unable to escape the cell made specifically to keep him contained...until a little treachery against his enemy and the intervention of a woman who knows by unpleasant means the worth she has to Dragonkind.
And Nikki - yet another human woman whose connection to the magic of the earth - the Meridian that is the source of nourishment and magic for Dragonkind - is unknown to her, as is the species that needs her. She, too, is lost and troubled, even if she doesn't completely know it. Also captured and held prisoner, Nikki's fate is entwined with Vyroth's and their future is nothing she ever imagined.
The other characters are important, and some introduced in prior books, but I will stop there. Know that there is adventure, battle, love, and hate wrapped up in this little story that will make the "normal" world cease to exist once you delve in. So do it, jump in with both feet and get lost in the magical, passionate world of Ms. Callahan's Dragonfury.
At last, Coreene Callahan is back and continuing her Dragonfury Scotland Series with Book #4. We find Vyroth, a Scottish Dragon warrior imprisoned deep underground in a world of hurt. Nicole Biscayne, an American salvage hunter, herself a prisoner in this underground prison, is given an option to either save herself by freeing the Scottish warrior or stay prisoner. Escaping the prison, these two individuals had to deal in dreadful life and death situations. Ultimately though, the warrior finds the love of a true mate in Nicole even under these very horrific circumstances. I have read all of Coreene’s Dragonfury books and this latest one is as great as all the others. I highly recommend this book as well all the others in the series.
Oh my gosh! I've been in a reading slump....this book pulled me right out of it. It had the right amount of action and romance. Such a page turner! The fight scenes were amazing....it seemed like it drew me in, I read those chapters so fast....too fast haha. A whip of a tail here, a barrel roll there, literal gasp from someone getting hit! And the chemistry between Vyroth and Niki! Ooooh, he treats her so well! She also doesn't just sit there and love up Vyroth.....she also is active with in the pack. She gets to know everyone and just overall a goddess. How Coreene is able to make a book focused on one dragonkind and yet still be able to see the whole picture from the entire series is AMAZING. Pulling packs and individuals from other books and still not pulling away from the main characters.....flawless. 100% recommend this series and author!
This book was non-stop action from beginning to end, with a few tender moments thrown in. Vyroth is a powerful dragon who meets his mate in the most unlikely place. Nicole is a woman who survived unimaginable circumstances and came out stronger in the end. Another great Dragonfury book from Coreene Callahan! Back-to-back excitement, with bad guys you really want to hate, and good guys you can’t help but love. All the feels are put to the test in this book. Sitting on the edge of my seat, all the way up to reaching for another tissue. I can’t wait for what comes next!

I am so glad that one of my favorite authors has written a new book!! It feels like I have been waiting forever but the wait was worth it. Vyroth has been captured and is close to dying because he has been starving for several months. But fate intervenes with a high energy human named Nikki who is also a prisoner. This book is filled with action, danger, anguish, rescues, comradery, love, friendship and family. This pack and the Nightfury pack seem destined to meet soon so I recommend that you start at the beginning and read them all. You won't be sorry.
If I had the ability to read it all the way through in one night I would have. This is a great story of brotherhood and soulmates. My heart broke at the loss and struggles. The story line was great, filling in as a stand alone book and even better when you’re caught up on the series. It entwined the packs and the need for dragon kind justice to be served. A one of a kind love story.

This is the first book I've read in the series and didn't feel like I missed anything not reading the others and they're going on my must read list! The characters are so full of life and the storyline keeps your attention. During the story you get the back stories for the characters, well most I wonder in the next books if more will come to light. There's some danger, new friends, mates and of course dragons duh. I must read if you enjoy stories that have all that and more!
I have been craving a new Dragonfury book...and Callahan gives us Fury of Persuasion. All I can say is: WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing, interesting, fast-paced, and epic adventure. I could not put this book down. I'm enamored with Vyroth and Nicole/Nikki. They are just wonderful together. Now I want my own dragon-warrior.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher, Oliver Herber, via Bookfunnel. My thoughts and opinions are my own and without bias or favor.
This is one of my favorite storytellers and I'm so very glad that she has gifted us with another book. It was definitely worth the wait!!! The dragon shifter world the author has created is detailed, unique and populated with memorable characters. Fury of Persuasion is Nicole and Vyroth's story and it is everything I wished for. With epic aerial battles, a swoon worthy dragon and a female character with a quiet inner strength, this book was a page turner.
Such a great story loving the Scottish pack new characters to get to know and it all shaping up nicely to connect with the nightfury pack so looking forward to that x
He's been captured and hungry but Mimi will save him to battle another day. So glad to get back to this series. These dragons are 🔥 and ready to rumble.
As always the author combines love, adventure and smart brave women and yummy dragons. This novel brings the ongoing saga just one step closer to a Dragonkind showdown of epic proportions. Watch out bad guys!
Such an amazing ride! Vyroth is a great hero.Loved the heroine! Niki is just more, than the others. Loved the packs compassion for Tempel. My favorite so far.
So happy to have another installment of the Dragonfury novels to obsess over! Vyroth’s journey certainly did not disappoint. The Scottish pack’s wayward warrior has been located. Unfortunately for him, he is under an enemy stronghold, growing weaker by the day, denied sustenance his dragon half requires. Nicole, a rare HE female who has also been imprisoned, is Vyroth’s only chance at salvation, in more ways than he can imagine! As their story unfolds, strong new allies will be brought into the pack, old enemies will surface and grow more powerful and new, surprising information will come to light in the growing resistance against the Archguard, leading the Scottish pack to attemp to reach out to the Nightfury pack for the first time. Will they be successful and combine their efforts when needed to stand against Rodin once and for all? I can’t wait to find out!
