At last, he had proof she was alive...

Police detective Nathanial Murphy had been looking for his April for seven long months. He feared the worst and blamed himself. When he finally caught a glimpse of dark curls and a butterfly tattoo, he realized she was still alive. When she ran from him, anger and joy warred in his breast. One thing was perfectly clear though when he caught up with her, she was going over his knee for all the worry she'd caused him!

Private eye April Hudson was on the hunt for her father’s killer, and she was determined that nothing would stop her. She’d regretfully left Nat Murphy behind after just a few dates, but now one small slip had put him instantly on her trail. With all the laws she’d broken in her investigations, she couldn’t afford to let him catch her!

I live in the Midwest and I love cats, reading, scrapbooking, and swimming. I also love to write romance with humor, a little discipline, and other fun and interesting stuff! I love the alpha male hero, it's always present in my books, and strong feisty heroines who inevitably get themselves into hot water with their man. I am now retired and plan on getting many more wonderful stories out for you to read. I can be found in all sorts of places. HIDE IN PLAIN SIGHT

The story is an addition to the East Coast Spitfires series but will read well as a stand-alone. It is a mystery with suspense, danger, deceit, and romance. I loved the characters and interactions and found myself completely drawn into the story, where time slipped away from me. The book is intriguing, the mystery a page-turner, and the characters added just the right chemistry. The two main characters are April and Nat.

April Aponi Hudson refuses to accept the cause of her father's death, Shatemuc Hudson. April, a late-in-life baby, had him leaving the FBI and becoming a private investigator. He had trained April, and they were working together. She is determined to get answers that the FBI refuses to help her with, so she hacks and does whatever is necessary to find information.

"Never let your guard down, Aponi, it can get you killed."

Detective Nat Murphy has looked for April Madison, a woman he had gotten close with that just disappeared. What a shock to see her again, but she manages to escape before he can get to her. He is determined to find her and why she vanished and is now avoiding him.

The story's plot will have Nat looking for April and April working undercover to solve her father's murder because she refuses to believe he drowned or committed suicide. The story is a cat and mouse game that finally brings Nat and April back together. She managed to dodge him, but persistence paid off. A mutual friend of Nat's was also a handler for her father with the FBI, but she doesn't trust Jason. Nat becomes an ally that wants to help April, but he also discovers he will need to protect her. Her digging into Shatemuc's death has placed her in danger.

The story has the good, the bad, and the evil in people. I enjoyed the mystery and how April and Nat uncovered new evidence, including things that were cover-upped by the FBI. Was he murdered because of his work with the FBI or while he was a PI? The story has plenty of angst, secrets, lies, and cover-ups to add just the right amount of suspense, throw in life and death danger, romance, and passion for adding to this tale.

I liked the chemistry between Nat and April. There are mixed emotions to finally reconnecting because he is upset she just disappeared but glad to have found her—yet she owes him answers. He is determined to help her while keeping her safe. He needs her to trust him. The story does have several discipline scenes and only mild sex scenes.

"Focus, Aponi. Never let your opponent catch you off guard. Be silent. Be deadly. Think of nothing but the task at hand."

Really great book! Wonderful characters and storyline! I'm not much into the steamy side of things these days, but it's really well written. I recommend it! ;)

What a cracker of a story by Ms. Golden. I found myself wholly invested in
this tale featuring murder, revenge, danger, romance, and mayhem. If you
love a good romance filled with action, this book is for you.

The theme that threads through this book is revenge. April left a trail of mystery after making an appearance in book two of this series. She just
disappeared into thin air, leaving Police Detective Nathanial Murphy
scratching his head until a chance sighting seven months later brought
April back into his life. April was smart, sassy, and determined to find the
person responsible for her father's death. She was filled with despair and
pain, leaving her vulnerable to danger. April was a loose cannon good at
hiding in plain sight until she came to the attention of Nat and the FBI.
April was running on pure adrenaline, teetering on the edge of fear.

Nat was determined to stop April’s dangerous behavior but not before he punished her for leaving him in the first place. She was a hot mess, but she was his hot mess to protect. His protective instincts to nurture April was to be admired. He was determined to have the one woman who touched his soul.
I admired how Nat supported April’s quest, but he was always there to reel her
into safety when danger was near. He knew when to let her take the lead
while still maintaining control.

This was a well-crafted story with pitfalls and peaks. This book was more
intense than the other books in this series. The storyline was exciting, and
the characters were likable. There was just the right amount of discipline to
make things interesting.

SUSPENSEFULL, INTRIGUING ROMANCE!

This is the third book in the East Coast Spitfires about bratty, sassy women that get tamed by their dominant men.

We left off with the wedding of Oliver and his spitfire Marsha's wedding where Nate Murphy took his little mess of a sassy spitfire April to and then she disappeared...

There is more behind the spitfire then he realises and when he eventually finds her their journey to intrigue, suspense and murder starts that will lead to a lot of spanking and steam!

Will Nate tame his sassy little mess of a spitfire?
Will the mystery behind all the killings and cold cases be resolved?

As with all Brandy Golden books in this series I loved it!.

Nat has been looking for April for seven months. When he finds her he discovers she believes her father had been murdered. The police seem to think his death was either accident or suicide. She went into hiding to investigate. He ends up helping her. He thinks about or threatens to spank her quite a bit and actually does give her a few spankings. If you like the basic spanking romance story where you have a dominant man and a submissive girl who has some sass but deep down wants her man to spank her you will probably like this story.

The third book in the series continues April's search for her father's killer and Nat's searching for her. The author does a great job building the story and pulled me in with all the mystery, suspense, action and danger as well as the romance. It's well written with descriptive scenes, moves fluidly and is another great addition to the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.

This is a good read filled with twist and turns for a fantastic mystery. April has been told her father's death was suicide, but she will never believe that and does her own investigating. With the help of Nat, they uncover hidden safes, journals and the possibility of a serial killer on the loose. I loved the story and the steamy romance, but April was a little too over the top with being a brat and running off on her own.

Well this book certainly keeps you on the edge of your seat trying to determine who the killer is and will he be successful or will he be captured. It's also a love story with a little kink but not too much to turn you off to the story. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to reading more from this author..

I received this book for free for a fair and honest review.

Taming the wind

Absolutely fantastic, what a great plot. I was hooked from beginning to end. I love the characters April was hot headed stubborn and fiesty, Nat was very much in charge and able to handle her. I'm glad to see another book in the pipeline, if love to see one that involves all the couple's tog' the Spanking and mischief would be endless

This is book3 of the series and it's just getting better and better. I love the way all the characters from all the books know each other and often are in each story. These books will be well read and reread too. The storyline are so consuming that you keep turning the pages to find out more. The story was captavating and I loved it. Can't wait to read more xx

I really liked the mystery and suspense of the story itself. Having a love story mixed I was bonus. This could be written with or without the romance and still be a great book, I gave it a four as I had a hard time with the spanking. Just not my thing.

Taming the Wind is a fast-paced romantic mystery with a lovable couple. I enjoyed how the mystery gets deeper and deeper once April starts the ball rolling! Quite a few surprises until they find their HEA.

Full of adventure, intrigue, and romance (with spanking)

I liked both of the main characters. There was a lot of mystery, along side of romance. It built to a grand conclusion and a punishment scene that was hot and exciting.
