She’s a rule-breaker.
He’s the cop who’s going to tame her and enjoy every second.

Everett
Sycamore mountain is a quiet place. I’ve done my time being a cop elsewhere, now, I like the slower pace of life. The worst thing about my job is keeping an eye on out-of-season hunting.
Summer Evans is like a bolt of lightning into my calm, orderly existence.
She’s a force of nature, a menace, a rule-breaking beauty who gets right under my skin.
She plans to do some kind of ritual in the forest on Midsummer’s eve. It sounds harmless enough, but it could be dangerous alone, and I won’t allow anything to happen to Summer.
Whether she likes it or not, she’s mine to protect…
…and to keep.

The MAN OF THE MONTH CLUB is a steamy small-town collection featuring a new hottie (or two!) every month. In 2022, escape to Sycamore Mountain, North Carolina and celebrate ALL the holidays with your favorite group of romance authors and their delicious mountain men. Can’t wait to see you there!

Gia Bailey loves to write steamy, sweet, short romances to keep her warm during the cold Scottish nights. All her heroes, from mountain men to billionaires, are possessive, obsessive alpha males, who go OTT for the women they fall for. And the heroines? Shy, sweet, smart, ambitious, and everything in between, these ladies always get their happy endings.

When not writing, she lives with her own burly Russian mountain man and all-knowing four year old, and enjoys baking, reading, jumping in muddle puddles (it’s Scotland, so there are lots), and inventing elaborate dreamworlds to play in. After all, life’s too short for anything other than a HEA.

Steamy Romance - High Heat - High Emotion - No cheating - No cliffhangers - HEA guaranteed

WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice quick, short read.

Everett and Summer know each other because he's a cop and she's a free spirit. Everett has to keep a watch on Summer because she gets into trouble with local business because she wants them to recycle. Summer is also know around town as the girl who's father passed when she was little and her mother passed when she was about to head off to college. Everett was a cop in NYC when he wanted a more peaceful life so he came to Sycamore Mountain, he doesn't get out much. When Everett stops by the local convenience store Summer is there trying to recycle packaging. Even though Summer works at the store its not her shift. Everett escorts Summer out and she goes off to protest at the local park. Everett is called into the chief's office when he gets back to the station and is requested to watch over summer. Everett goes and finds Summer but she's headed to the local hardware store to buy some supplies. When Summer notices him following her she wants to know if he was ordered to babysit her. They find out the protest was cancelled, so Summer offers to buy Everett lunch. When they are finished Everett wants to know where she is headed so she tells him she wants to head up to Lover's Bower. Only locals know about Lover's Bower, her mother use to bring her and now Summer goes there to honor her. Everett gets a radio call from a co-worker needed his help at Lover's Bower and he suddenly realizes that's where Summer was headed. When Everett arrives he finds out some local hunters are causing some problems but there are two left in the woods. Everett takes off and finds Summer he scares her when he jumps on her so that they can hide. They kiss until they hear gunfire. Everett takes off to find who gun off the gun and tells Summer to stay and lay low. After Everett captures the hunter's he's escorting them down the mountain when they run into Summer. Everett tells her she was suppose to wait for him, but she tells him she had other plans. After Everett secures the hunters in a co-workers car he turns to find Summer headed down the mountain. He follows her until he finds out there's a storm coming in, he tells her she needs to come with him but she refuses. Everett tells her she needs to get into his car because of the storm, after a little convincing Summer gets into his car only to find out they're not headed back into town. Everett takes Summer to his cabin so that he can tells her about his past. After they talk and Everett tells her why she should want to be with him, Summer forgives him and tells him it wasn't his fault. They kiss, then he pleasures her and they make love. Everett tells her that if they do this she is his forever, and Summer tells him she's alright with that. The next morning Summer is out on his back porch watching the sun come up when he comes out and finds her. Everett tells her he never knew she was a morning person but she tells him she can't miss the view. They sit and watch the sun come up as they talk about the future. Seven years later, they have four kids, three boys and one girl. Alex, Tommy and Spencer along with their daughter Poppy all come running to her. Summer teaches special education classes on climate change and activism. While Everett is claiming the ladder he's now second in command. Summer is still an activist and getting into trouble its a good thing she knows someone at the local police department.

I've not read much by Gia Bailey, but Midsummer Sinners, part of the multi-author Sycamore Mountain (Man of the Month Club) series, has made me a fan. Everett is an officer with the police department, a recent transplant after having left the city after some on-the-job drama and tragedy. The much younger Summer has grown up in town and never wants to leave the mountains, her activist nature though frequently getting her into trouble. From the moment they met, Everett and Summer have both been inextricably drawn to the other, but Everett's past has forced him to hold Summer at arm's length. But what happens when he can no longer deny the young, gorgeous light in the world?

A steamy, swoon-worthy, age-gap romance that is more than worth the read in this entertaining series!

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. This is a story about two people who might not seem perfect for each other, but they are. Everett and Summer are opposites in several ways. That doesn't change the attraction that sparks between them. He is still living with a heavy weight from his past choices. Summer is the person you want in your corner any time, any place. She is always passionate and willing to fight for what others ignore. It is a story that is full of humor, a little drama and plenty of passion and love. Everett is going to find out how healing the love of a good woman is. Short, fast paced, sweet and funny.

I enjoyed this romance story with all of the characters. The two main characters were Summer Evans and Everett.

Summer Evans is a young woman that enjoy doing good things around town. She likes to recycle and do good things for the environment.

Everett has came to Sycamore mountain town for a more quite life. He a cop from a city town and want a more slower pace life style. The only thing that bad in this mountain town is the out of season hunters. Everett also want to forget about the past and start new.

I had fun reading this short story. It has action , secret and a little bit of suspense. It also had me laughing and giggling to.

I received a complimentary copy via Booksprout. This is my honest unbiased opinions.

This book is a part of the Sycamore Mountain series and focuses on Everett and Summer. Everett is a cop that has been running away from his past mistakes when he decides to move to Sycamore Mountain. He is obsessed with Summer at first sight but he doesn’t feel that he is a good enough man for her because of his past. He keeps everything locked up tight and keeps everyone at arms length but he couldn’t seem to stay away from Summer no matter how much he tries. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Everett is a police officer in Sycamore Mountain and is loving the small town simple life. From the first time he saw Summer he was taken by her but he doesn't feel he deserves a woman like her. I loved Summer and how strong she was and stood up for what she believed. These two are complete opposites but they are so perfect for each other. This is a small town romance with likable characters, small town drama, humor, and a happily ever after. Midsummer Sinners is part of the multi-author Sycamore Mountain series and I look forward to reading the rest of the books. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.

Everett is new to town and has a grumpy closed off demeanour. There’s something about Summer that rials him up and has him acting grumpier then usual. Summer has lived in town forever and gets herself into constant trouble because of her protests over just about anything and everything. She has a crush on the new police officer but doesn’t know how to get him to open up. This was a quick sexy read. The banter between these two was great. Everett soon lost his will power and decided to let Summer in and tell her his darkest secret. I received an arc copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Everett and Summer . . .

It’s so refreshing when opposite personalities encounter each other and the chemistry ignites. These two seem like they wouldn’t mix, yet she was just what he needed to bring his heart back to life. Summer Evans is a rule-breaker. Everett is a cop, still struggling with some past choices he made. Summer is passionate and caring, ready to go the extra mile to help someone out. In his efforts to protect her, will he begin to fall in love? Are the two of them ready for their HEA?

Midsummer Sinners is a fun quick story that will put a smile on your face, and have you lost in a story with a few ups and down that you will not want to put down.

Summer is a great character that will stand up for what she believes in, Everett is a new cop that has come to town after the gray lines he faced in the city.

Their connection is fun and intense, as they help each other navigate from their past.

Summer is a free spirit and believes in doing things to preserve nature. Everett is a cop, and he is always there to get Summer when one of her adventures leads her on the wrong side of the law. Sparks fly between them and soon things are heating up. Will they admit their feelings for one another?

This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. This is a book for any book lover.

The author has given us an older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Everett and Summer and does not let go. Everett has a darkness in his soul that he does not want anyone to know about. Summer is determined to get past the walls he has built around his heart. Will she be able to lure him to her light?

This was a great grumpy sunshine romance. I loved the storyline, it was so cute. Emmett and Summer had the best banter going on and I simply loved it. I loved how they both were slightly obsessed with the other. Emmett had some walls that needed to be geared down, but luckily Summer was just the right person to make him see the light.

This was enjoyable. The books in the Man of the Month club have been hit or miss for me. While this was enjoyable, I didn't LOVE it the way I hoped after reading the blurb. I think Everett felt a bit more than grumpy, I just did not really connect with him. I really liked Summer. She was sweet and endearing, just out there trying to do her best for the small town and world she lived in.

Summer is born and raised in Sycamore Mountain where she fights for the climate and changes in general. She regularly crossed paths with the town cop Everett. The hot and a bit older man fascinated her from the first day they met. But the grumpy cop is a hard but to crack😉 Little does she know that he is also obsessed with her like she with him😊😊 Instalove, grumpy and his Sunshine story, sweet ,romantic, safe and drama free with a sweet HEA😍😍😍

Everett left being a cop in the city for a simpler life. Summer Evans slammed into his life like a bolt of lightning, but he is not good enough for her. She keeps flirting with him when see each other. How much longer is he going to be able to hold out, when all he wants to do is make her his?

This is a sweet and steamy read, which drama and excitement.

This was a fun and fast read but it had the potential for more. Summer was interesting and Everett was rock solid but I would have enjoyed it more if there had been a little more conflict and build up between them. Decent chemistry but it just missing a bit of a spark for me.

Cute and short romance
It's a good simple romance, cute and tender between Everett, the former big city cop who lives with his burden and now represents the law in a small town, and Summer, the native of this rural town, who seeks to defend her ideas, even if it means annoying everyone.
There are some funny notes and some hot notes.

Grumpy Lawman Everett has tried to ignore Summer but she's relentless

Summer has been quietly stalking Everett but he's a closed off grump who doesn't share details about his past. Circumstances set in play have Everett coming to her rescue and things escalate quickly. Loved the flirty banter.

He's older, she's younger. He's a police officer and she's a rebellious rule break. Everett and Summer are very much opposites, but their attraction sizzles. Their chemistry sparks. She is exactly what he needs to move on with his life. This is a classic opposites attract romance! Must read!

Saving Everette From Himself

This was a Cute novella. I loved how Summer came in and saved Everette without him even knowing. Everette escaped to Sycamore Mountain to start new but what he got wasn't what he was expecting. They are what each other deserves and make each other happy.

This book was absolutely good and had me hooked from the beginning until the end and the storyline flowed throughout the book. Everett is the newest cop in town and also the loneliest but he watches summer and tries to keep his distance but when he has to keep an eye on her will they finally get together or will she end up in jail?.

Another cute addition to the series

I love a grumpy/sunshine romance and this was pretty adorable. I also loved their cheeky banter throughout, but especially in the epilogue.
