Speed Trap
A Lake Cliff Adjacent Romance
Things have been a little too quiet in Lake Cliff.
Mr. Blink sees that as cause for concern so he’s sent his best fixer and spy, Eldon Speed, to keep an eye on things. But you can’t take your eye off of Mr. Speed, as Blink and Lavender are about to learn. He’s a master of chaos and deception and he’s been waiting for the perfect opportunity to make his move.
Blake West was only meant to be a ticket into Lake Cliff but finds himself caught up in Speed’s trap. The cocky young real estate agent has always idolized his heroic older brother but Blake discovers that things are not what they seem in this particular suburb. Blake doesn’t think he has what it takes to run with the big boys but he might be the only one who can stop Speed in his tracks.
What happens when chaos comes to town and meets his match in the least likely of heroes? Will Speed reveal what’s up his sleeve and can Blake prove the dashing trickster isn’t beyond redemption?

Oh man, it is always a blast being back in Lake Cliff and getting up to the best sort of trouble with ALL of the boys!
I remember thinking years ago how I'd love if one of Lane's siblings were to come to Chicago and fool around a little and now here's Blake freaking West!!
“I have a feeling he’s going to break my heart but that’s not going to stop me from getting laid in Lane’s guest room, apparently.”
It's been lovely getting to meet Mr. Speed, have him ingratiate himself into the family, continuously push all of Lavender's buttons, fall in love and win our hearts💖
This was hilarious and heartwarming what with having the whole crew shacked up and living in their versions of domestic bliss and all!! Especially with Speed coming to shake things up! I cackle every time I think of a Toly going to borrow a cup of sugar from Marston and anybody being brave enough to knock on Grim's door!
As always, I'm a slut for each moment of Lane and Lavender's friendship but having the Lake Cliff, Lake Cliff adjacent and Carlton House boys interact is always my idea of a perfectly disastrous crossover!! I'm looking forward to the rest of the series and watching how it all plays out!

Hooked
I didn't think I could connect with a couple as much as I did with Lane and Aiden, but these two might be a match. No spoilers, so.... I can't wait for the next book!!!!

Let the battle of the suits, suitors and situations begin!
Elvis has the perfect song for this book, Suspicious Minds, and when you're playing the game, are you the player or the played?What happens when the spider inadvertently becomes the fly? What should a bear do when caught in the honey pot? And who do you call when you're supposed to be the one pulling the strings?
This book is fun with a capital FUN!
Watching the chaos Speed brings to Lake Cliff is deliciously entertaining, witnessing Blake's response to this is delightful and observing Lavender losing it is hilarious!!! Pull up your lawn chair, make yourself a dirty martini, sit back and enjoy the show!

The need for Speed
Miss Sterling is a one click buy for me.
I'm so excited that she brought me back to Lake Cliff.
It's one of my favorite places to go.
I was so caught of guard by what she was doing.
But bringing in new ( friends) is always a good time.
I didn't realize that Lake Cliff could ever be surprised,
Not with Mr. Lavender there.
This was a great beginning for everyone.
The banter with all the guys, the action, and the naughty .
I couldn't put it down.
My naughty girl is on a roll, and I for one can't wait to take the ride.
If you've never read K.Sterling book your missing out.
I found her
And she won't let you down.

On boy, strap in for this one.....
First, as you know it's part of a series, so yeah!!! Ms Sterling is great at capturing you from the start and taking you on a wild ride. The Boys of Lake Cliff are some of my favorite characters to read! I love their strange wonderful dynamics! As requested there will be no spoilers, but if you are looking for a well written, well.paced story, please get this. A fore warn, it most imperative to have read the other books to understand the dynamics of all the characters to get the maximum enjoyment from this series!!! Happy reading!!! I can wait for the next one!!!!

This book has all the charm and disaster heroes in the making.
The whole gang has to deal with an interloper who can ruin their lives with a snap of his fingers.
Speed is sent to Lake Cliff to babysit our favourite band of merry heroes but accidentally kinda sorta falls for the sweet sweet baby brother of Lane West
And does he fall mighty hard and fast.
This book has everything you love about Lake Cliff with a new anti-hero thrown into the mix.
Eldon Speed stirs the pot in the most delicious of ways and I laughed with delight every time he got under Lavender’s skin.
The romance between Speed and Blake is soft and sweet with lots of heat as Speed realizes that he too can have happiness. He’s not the monster he thinks he is.
I love this series.

So okay, This is K Sterling in top form as usual, but OMG! I read this at work, I wanted to keep reading but I had to drive home. I didn't even eat until I finished reading it. It's everything a Lake Cliff fan could want, and certainly incentive for a new fan to come play with the Boys of Lake Cliff. Shenanigans, Mystery, Hijinks, a murder plot it's all in there.

"Speed Trap" received THREE stars.
I found the middle portion of this book to be very slow and thought about DNFing it many times. It did pick up at the end when Speed finally started talking about his big plan. Normally I fall in love with the Lake Cliff couples right away, but Blake and Speed just aren’t doing it for me this time. I’m hoping the next book in the series will have POV from the other characters.
The novel gained *stars* for these items:
* gained for: "The book caught my interest in the first five pages."
* gained for: "I was sad when the book ended. I wanted more!"
* gained for: "There were no info dumps, poor writing, or copy edit mistakes that jerked me out of the story."
The novel failed to gain stars for this item:
NO STAR gained for: "I thought about the book when I was forced to set it down and re-enter society."
NO STAR gained for: "That's it. I'm hooked on this author. I will automatically try anything she/he/they writes."

When more of Blinks assets are settling down in Lake Cliff he sends his number one con man Speed to stir things up to see what is going on. But Blink doesn't know that Speed is running a long con of his own and neither of them are prepared for someone as genuine and good as Lanes brother Blake.
I just loved the opposites attract theme between Speed and Blake and I thoroughly enjoyed Speed spreading a bit of chaos in Lake Cliff and his little beef with Mr Lavender.
We get a wonderful love story, we get to see almost all of our favorites from previous books and we are getting the beginning of a new mystery that will take the whole crew working together.
Love it and can't wait to read more!

Your the Land Agent?
K Sterling, has done it again, written such an interesting story with twists and turns that can make your head spin. Our favourite characters are all at Lake CIiff just to catch up with each other. So looking forward to reading the follow on story book 12 in this Series.

Its just the beginning
Looks like we have a new adventure for our boys. Speed steps into the scene and stirs up the pot. We meet Blake who is Lane's younger brother and he is as lovable an Lane himself is. Aiden is still awesome and always will be to me. He is the point to this series and the mind of the all, just as Sage is the heart.

Love the Lake Cliff guys and all their adventures. Visiting them in their adventures is like going home.
I would love to have them all on audio, but they stopped at a certain point. Looking forward to more.
