(Arabic: جوزيف ميرفي)
Joseph Murphy was a Divine Science minister and author.

Murphy was born in Ireland, the son of a private boy's school headmaster and raised a Roman Catholic. He studied for the priesthood and joined the Jesuits. In his twenties, an experience with healing prayer led him to leave the Jesuits and move to the United States, where he became a pharmacist in New York (having a degree in chemistry by that time). Here he attended the Church of the Healing Christ (part of the Church of Divine Science), where Emmet Fox had become minister in 1931.

In the mid 1940s, he moved to Los Angeles, where he met Religious Science founder Ernest Holmes, and was ordained into Religious Science by Holmes in 1946, thereafter teaching at the Institute of Religious Science. A meeting with Divine Science Association president Erwin Gregg led to him being reordained into Divine Science, and he became the minister of the Los Angeles Divine Science Church in 1949, which he built into one of the largest New Thought congregations in the country. In the next decade, Murphy married, earned a PhD in psychology from the University of Southern California and started writing. After his first wife died in 1976, he remarried to a fellow Divine Science minister who was his longstanding secretary. He died in 1981.

This was a long book. And while I enjoyed reading it I was surprised by so many of the examples. Just think and it will be done unto you. I think the best bit of this book is that the author suggests not to over-work and overanalyze a situation, but rather to turn it over to God. Here's what I learned:
-never be negative and whiny people
-You should never encourage negative conversations
-ignore the people who cheat and betray you
-you have to trust God

Another great book by the Great Joseph Murphy, he has now become of one of my favorite authors. You won't regret reading this, even if you're already in the Self Help mindset.

Murphy's Law

The clearest and most concise material on a positive mind and life style anywhere. I love this book and read it often and apply the principles daily. Five stars!

First, let me say that one of the things I have noticed about Goodreads is that sometimes, I need to find the closest "match" to the books I have. The softcover copy of this book has 226 pages, but the closest match on Goodreads was 228 pages.

That aside, this is not the first time I have read this book; every time I reread it, I find a new nugget of Wisdom, Inspiration and something that expands my Prosperity Consciousness even more (which, of course, expands my pocketbook even more, too).

Of the many of the late and great Dr. Joseph Murphy's books, this was the first one I ever read, and certainly not the last.
