Girl meets man. Man likes girl. Girl meets boy. Boy also likes girl.
Yasmean Haley has left her hometown hoping to get some new perspective and to escape a toxic relationship with an ex who has betrayed her in more ways than she actually knows. But what's a girl to do when the one place she's escaped to, that being the all black school Hughmoore College, throws her right into the middle of a risky and forbidden love triangle?
Math Professor Wood definitely taught the right subject at Hughmoore because he was the common denominator in this drama filled story!! Chyyyyyy this book was so d*mn messy!! If this is the sought after HBCU college experience, I want zero parts 😆🙅🏽♀️
Yasmean was looking forward to a new start at a new school in a new town after leaving a toxic situation with her ex and got way more than she bargained for when she had two men vying for her attention. I mean who wouldn’t enjoy the chase of the top football player and the professor every woman on campus wants to take to pound town. Things escalated quickly in this book and I found myself yelling out on multiple occasions 🗣️IKYFL!!!
There were so many sub characters and side stories that were interconnected that I can even begin to break them all down because we would literally be here all day. Just know that in EVERY situation, Professor Wood was a 🗑️ 🍑 🥷!!!
If you’re looking for a messy good college story, you’re definitely going to enjoy this one!
Let’s just say Professor Wood’s name was very fitting and I’m surprised that no one got splinters 🪵.This was a good ole roller coaster ride and I feel like I need to be tested for STD’s after reading this.
Whew chile, almost every character in this book was a mess and drama followed them everywhere they went. With that being said, it made for a really fun read! Glad those that were doing people dirty got what they deserve. Everything came full circle in the end as well as some important lessons being learned.
One word to describe this story was messy…now this had plot twist after plot twist. Keenan got off too easy. I’m glad Kadia got what she deserved. Dulcie and Darren finding love was too cute. Omere applied pressure Yasmean had no choice but to fold. I’m glad they got their HEA even Aracely.
Messy Bessy!!! When I tell you , another college love story!!! This book was so crazy !! But not in a bad way , it still made me want to keep going , it kept me interested in what the heck gone happened next !! Y’all Keenan the ultimate charmer but underneath all that a low down dirty N**** the FREAKING NERVE!!!! Whew!!! I said this man is sleeping with EVERYBODY MASTER Manipulator …. But this book was pretty good and ton of funny moments but you are going be with WTF!!!! ALOT!!! I will say how I thought this story would go it went in a completely different direction…
All the characters are something else! I did like O & Yas . & finally Dulcie gave in with Darren!! Cause he wasn’t letting up!
My first book of Shvonne , & I’ll be digging in her catalog.
This book did not lack drama! If only college was this crazy when I attended lol! Who knows, maybe it did. Professor Wood was crazy and definitely took advantage of his students. Omere could do no wrong!! I loved his honesty and his real intentions. I would have loved to see more of the relationships between the characters but nonetheless this kept me entertained.
I listened to this while I worked and absolutely loved it!!!! The twists and turns really twisted and turned LOL!!! Every time I thought I had something figured out, something else would happen! It was messy, and the Professor was absolutely crazy!!! LOL!
I need more. I like me some Yasmean and Omere. This was good. Everything always come out and the end. The couples don't even have much time to be together, before its epilogue time.
Oh, the drama! If you’re in the mood for a messy story set on a fictional HBCU campus, this one will definitely keep you entertained. There was a lot going on in this story—secrets, scandals, and plenty of questionable decisions. I will say, Professor Wood is the perfect name for this MMC because his wood clearly ruled his world. If you enjoy chaotic characters and campus drama, this will be a fun ride.
I loved this! Started off with a bang! Yasmeans energy was everything!!! She was honestly my favorite! Kommunity D Keenan! Smh The way everything was revealed was jaw dropping! Shvonne knows how to write a book!!!!
Yasmean Haley is in her 3rd year of college but her first year on campus at a University because she spent her first 2 years at a community college chasing behind her unfaithful ex boyfriend. Now she is done with gang relationship she starts at the University, freshly broken up and shortly after finding herself in a love triangle. Yasmean meets her math instructor professor Keenan Woods and falls heads over heels with him…well kinda, maybe, she thinks…that is until her roommate Dulcie introduces her to her older brother and star football and bad boy, Omere Kreed. Although Yasmean and Keenan are a secret she tries to stay loyal to him but Omere’s persistent. After feeling Yasmean pulling away from him, Keenan becomes unraveled allowing his secrets to reveal themselves. This was a very messy read! Every character was involved in mess that intertwined all of them together! Loved this!
Queen Shvonne Latrice really gave us one drama filled, plot twist after plot twist love story. Whew Chil, if 🗑 a** community 🍆 motherfudgesicklestix was a person it would most definitely be Neil and Professor Wood🙄. These ninjas have being a 🗑 a** ninja a whole new meaning. The beyond used their power to manipulate and take advantage of the women they came in contact with. They both got what they deserved for all the hell they put those women through, especially Yas. It's the audacity for me. Arcely got the ultimate revenge and I lmao when she spilt that 🍵 to the Professor trifling a**😳😂😂 Khadia got her karma too for not only try to put a baby on Omere, but to try and set him up to list everything🙄😡. I really wanted Yas to tag that disrespectful ho at least once. Karen was a motherfudgesicklestix and I was here for all the shenanigans she pulled to get back at the Professor 🗑 a**🤷🏽 Dulcie was so dang secretive, so her doing the Professor didn't surprise me at all. I lived Darren, so I was glad she finally stopped putting her life on hold for that community🍆🗑 of a ninja Professor Wood. Darren was a real one and he proved that he was definitely worthy of her time. Omere fine sexy BDE motherfudgesicklestix😍😜! The played no games when it came to his future, providing for his mom and sister, and the way he pursued the ish out of Yas. He was so intentional with his pursuit and Bay-be he was my kind of nasty😜😂.
Neil was trash 🤦🏾♀️ but that damn Professor Wood was bottom of the barrel trashhhhhhhhh. I thought he really had a thang for Yasmean and was literally shocked when all the his dirty little secrets came out.
I thought Dulcie was lesbian but she was being secretive because she too was caught up thinking she was in a relationship with Professor Wood. I would’ve never thought that Khadia was apart of his harem of students with the way she displayed her obsession with Omere. Whew baby that darn professor was really a cold piece of work chile, manipulative ass 🤦🏾♀️ had all these girls thinking he was gone be with them after their graduation.
Khadia got what she deserved and Professor got what he deserved. Aracely was too good for him and he knew it. When I read she married his cousin I was like nah sis you don’t get a ninja back like that but oh well he deserved that too lol.
Omere and Yasmean were the cutest, the chemistry was undeniable. Omere set out to make her his and he did just that. Ugh I hate to see them go but I loved that this was a standalone.
This book theme was really community d*** with a side of delusional because WTF!! If you think having an affair with your fine young college professor is hot and sexy wait until you read this.. Like at first I was like hmmm…maybe??? Then I was completely disgusted. I mean it just got perpetually worse especially when you get further along with that characters and his supporting character storyline. Once you got past that college professor and his many lies that didn’t make sense the college romance was kind of like an afterthought. I mean very realistic content in some regard but it was both overwhelming like omg enough of this and underwhelming in the telling of certain characters perspective. I honestly wish we would’ve got more of Aracely and her perspective because how did we get there?? This was an easy, chaotic read.
Every single character was delusional and of low moral character. If your not a fan of cheating then this book is not for you cause every character cheats or is sneaking around with everyone. It was so confusing cause they would declare their love for one character and then the story turns around and you find out they have been messing with or are in love with a different character.
The Ebonics was really crazy and unrealistic for established college students and professors. The ratchet mess was on 10. The sex scene were cringy and for the life of me didn’t understand why minor characters got a point of view. I finished the story so I can call it a good “hood” read but I wouldn’t recommend it.
Okay the beginning was a bit rough for me. I started and stopped reading this book 3 times. But today I decided to go ahead and power through. And I must say I was intrigued.
Yas was my girl. She was naive like I expected for a college girl messing with a professor but she wasn’t and she was about her stuff.
Professor Wood was just nasty and annoyed me to no end. He kept playing people like it was going out of style.
But Omere. Omere was a sweetheart and I loved him. I loved how he was with Yas and the whole relationship.
This was actually a good read and gave me all the HEA feels.
I liked the book. It was very different from her usual works, but I liked it. I didn't like how fast paced the book was and how naive all the women were that was dealing with Keenan.
Neal said let me get my boom box and get this girl attention
Oh Neal go to hell 🤣
Oh professor Wood got all the girl in this class.
Not a fione man teaching a deplorable subject 😂
See I knew Neal needed to go to hell. Not carrying Plan B’s. He got a baby with Selma.. that he was cheating on Yas with. Wait and another baby.. dude TF. And he delusional if he think Yas gonna be his wife.
He sleeping with Molly too.. that supposed to be Yas friend.. smfh I see she felt guilty or whatever but damn.
Neal is onnnnnn one 😂 this 🥷 trippin.
She said don’t worry these hands rates E for Every soror 😂
Omir 😂
Khadia finna get her ahh beat.
Ok Professor Ogalbee.. I mean Wood lol
Girl how you know he clean, that’s your brother not your patient.
Sending an email to get the Lo is hilarious.
Professor about to be whipped.
O please.. respect is earned not given.
I knew Professor Keenan was gonna be whipped
Capri Sun lol
Girl your brother is all those things.
Oh professor on one.
Girl why did you agree to be his under cover woman
You wanted the youngin now deal with youngin behavior K lol
Yea professor gone 😂 took that girl to meet the folks.. and didn’t tell her before hand.
Yea Dolce like woman or she in a Yaz situation
Then he got a nerve to have a woman and a digger.
I knew Dolce situation was weird now I know it’s super weird😂😂
Keenan is a BAN.. that 🥷 smashing everyone. And he a head.. bro
Oh this fool coo coo for cocoa Cocoa Puffs. That man a professional liar
He Khadia baby father.. omg this ninja nasty af
Keenan on one.
Neal worst nightmare came true lol
I kinda wish her and Molly could have reconciled, but girl I feel you. Trust broken is hard to recover (if it can at all).
Glad everything worked out for Yaz and Dolce.

This book kept my jaw on the floor! Everytime I thought nothing worst could happen. It did! I was clutching my pearls with this book!
Yasmean is over relationships and just wants to enjoy her junior year of college experience on campus and collect her degree. Should be easy right ? Except she had two fine men vowing for her attention and neither is letting up. For better or worse.
This book was a time. I thoroughly enjoyed it. I will say at some point all the extra drama thrown in became overkill and exhausting though.
I loved yasmean and how she seem to have some kind of sense. She wasn’t as easily manipulated as the other ladies in the book and her cut off game was strong. She got on my nerves a little when it came to her deciding on who she wanted to be with though because it was obvious, even to herself, who she wanted. I was also annoyed at how sometimes she came off as bourgeois. Her assuming Omere was a hood dude (he was but still) just because he had a lot of tattoos and acting like his tattoos was a turn off for her had me rolling my eyes. My girl kept getting done dirty left and right though. I’m glad she played no games about her respect and got her get back by all means necessary.
Omere. Omere. Omere. I love that cocky arrogant man. He played no games and shamelessly went after what he wanted. He was a smooth talker that backed up everything he said. I didn’t like his attitude toward the end but he did make up for it.
Keenan was a mess. A hot mess. He was just scandalous. I feel like he didn’t get enough backlash for what he did. Everytime I thought I couldn’t be anymore shocked by him he proved me wrong.
Neil was the worst! Dulcie was way too naive at first. I’m glad Cely finally bossed up.
I wish we got more scenes of Omere and Yas. A lot of their scenes were told to us instead of us experiencing it as a reader.
Another College Love Story is by far one of my favorite novels by Shvonne Latrice. One thing I truly enjoy about her writing is her ability to keep readers guessing. Just when I think I have the storyline figured out, she introduces unexpected twists that completely change the direction of the story. The plot was engaging, entertaining, and kept me invested from beginning to end.
The characters were well-developed, and the relationships felt authentic, making it easy to become emotionally connected to their journeys. As with many of Shvonne Latrice’s novels, the drama, romance, and surprises were perfectly balanced, creating a compelling read that was difficult to put down.
The only aspect I did not particularly enjoy was the number of points of view throughout the novel. At times, the frequent shifts between characters made it challenging to stay connected to a single storyline. However, this did not take away from the overall quality of the book.
Overall, Another College Love Story was an enjoyable and memorable read. If you enjoy college romance stories filled with unexpected twists and engaging characters, I would definitely recommend this novel. I give it 4 out of 5 stars.
This book was so doggone messy!!! Yasmean, Omere, Neal, Molly, Keenan, Karen, and Dolce! This really could be a show or a movie lol!
Man Keenan!!! How you knocking down Dolce (the way my jaw dropped when Dolce called Keenan) Yasmean, Karen and Aracely! And you’re an addict ??? Then you brought a damn $6000 promise ring?? While you’re engaged to another woman? Like boy you just keep adding matches to the fire! Then you had Dolce get rid of the baby? Let Yas meet you “dead” parents and have Aracely paying all the bills? You’re a compulsive liar!! Baby it got real when Aresalli found Keenan’s text messages! Yhis man was knocking down 12 students!!
Neal you got some fucking nerves and then to say you have a sex addiction all while being the youth pastor! You were wrong to tell Yas about Molly when it was only one time and she didn’t double back to you! Molly you should’ve told her!
Neal trying to pin his baby on Omere was Condoms still fail so a blood test could’ve been done just so Khadia don’t pop up later.
The way Aracely read Keenan in chapter 10. “Omg fucking gosh “ baby I listened to scene about 10 times lol! Aracely got her lick back! It all worked out for them all! Yas and Omere, Dolce and Darren , and then Aracely and cousin! This was a great standalone book!

I can't believe how much I loved this story. It's a drama-filled light read set on a college campus. The story follows a deceitful professor who is married but has relationships with more than 10 college students and a professor. Each girl believes they will be together once she graduates. None of the girls are aware of one another and only one of the girls knows he's married. This dude was manipulative AF and had control issues. Though he was much older than most of the girls, he acted childish. He was very clingy and desperate at times. He also had a drug problem and lived beyond his means.
Everything comes to a head when his wife catches him cheating and blows up his world. The professor becomes jealous that one of his former girls has moved on si he talks another girl into pinning a baby on him! That girl also plants drugs on him and nearly ruins his future.
The book ends well. I was satisfied with most of the outcomes tho I would've loved it if someone off'd the professor.
Professor Wood was really out there dropping Wood off in everybody….students and other teachers. I did want to definitely know what his outcome was and what happened to his and Khadia’s baby since she had serve time in prison. I liked Omere with Yasmean because he saw her as his forever and he moved with intention to show her that he was the man for her. I like that Omere always practiced safe séx even though he was very active before Yasmean. It’s crazy how Khadia disliked Yasmean as soon as they met and then they ended up dating the same two men. Everyone was wondering if Dulcie was a lesbiàn not knowing that she was one of Professor Wood’s victims thinking that they were really in a relationship when he was for everybody. Dulcie found her happiness when she let Professor Wood go and started dating Darren after the pursued her for so many years. I usually like babies at the end of the book but they were young adults who were trying to be stable in their careers before kids so I can respect the fact that they’re all waiting to start having babies.
Ms. Latrice has done it again. Another bestseller! I love her storytelling ability. The way she weaves the storylines around her characters is masterful. She’s one of the best to do it. Also, it’s a standalone at that! I often forget the previous storylines and characters when it’s a series so standalones are the best for me. Okay, let’s talk about the book. I actually have mixed feelings concerning all of the characters which is a good thing. In real life, no one is perfect and this is very much reflected in this book. However, what I liked most was the accountability that Yasmean, Duckie, and Mali took for their actions. That was refreshing. I liked how Omere and Darren consistently pursued their women. The women were strong and independent while showing their vulnerability. Good job Ms. Latrice!
