Something Wicked #2

Wicked Betrayal: A Steamy Rock Star Romance

Rate this book
⚠️⚠️⚠️ My sincerest and most unending apologies to those who have been waiting for the final book to read the series. Due to my inclusion of a quite frankly ridiculous amount of gratuitous smut, I am turning this into a four-book series. The final preorder will be set for May 2023 but will be released early when the book is ready. I'll be aiming for August 2022. ⚠️⚠️⚠️

Knowledge is power, and one secret could ruin everything.

I love my new life with Dante, Nate, and Logan. They're my three favorite men. Now that the fourth member of Wicked Stallion, Ash, has broken up with his girlfriend, though, I'm not sure how it will change things between us all.

Then there's the tiny matter of Cassie herself. She knows about my relationships, and she sent me the four worst words in the English language:

We need to talk.

It's fine. Everything's fine.

Wicked Betrayal is the second book in the Something Wicked trilogy, a steamy romance series that tells the story of Lexi Sullivan and her relationships with the band members of Wicked Stallion.

⚠️⚠️ This book is book two in what is now a "four-book trilogy" and contains a cliffhanger. If you don't like cliffhangers, you may want to wait until this series is completed to read it. ⚠️⚠️

So. Much. Sex.

So much that this book got itself a Smut-By-Volume of 69.69%. Did I add precisely 1,168 words of smut to the epilogue just to bring it up from 69.37% to that number? Ummmm…what do you think? I don't pretend I'm not immature as hell lol. But when you reach the 70,000s for words of smut in a book I feel like what's another 1,168 between friends?

I stand by what I said in the dedication, though, major shifts are made in the plot through the smut. I also really, really love the "I love you" in this book. I think it rivals the one between the guys in the first book for me.

Sorry not sorry about the cliffhanger. I always knew the second book in the trilogy would end after that happened, but I didn't expect to basically leave it right there. I figured I wasn't exploring what happened any further in this book, so making it part of the sneak peek made sense instead of having it as where the book ends. That's why I've been warning everyone who asked if book one had a cliffhanger that book two definitely would.

Pool cues. That's all for this paragraph.

I apologise in advance for book three, because I'm about a thousand percent sure I won't be able to keep up this breakneck level of smut writing in the final book. I just can't. I'll need more plot words to tie up the trilogy properly. This book hovered between 69-72% smut for the last few chapters, dropping down and going higher again depending on how much plot was in the chapter. I'll do my best to keep book three above fifty percent, but I probably shouldn't make any promises.

Either way, it'll definitely still be smutty, but I think 69.69% is the smuttiest book I'll ever manage to write. It's surprisingly hard to write a coherent book while including that much sex. I joked that I'm running out of sex scene ideas by the end because I haven't repeated one yet, but I still have a couple of things up my sleeve for the final book.

Which reminds me that I think I might have written a unique sex scene for a reverse harem in this book? The one at the end of chapter five. If you've read that in another reverse harem, let me know! I've asked a few avid RH readers and even one who's read over 300 of them said she'd never come across it. Not gonna lie, I felt like the Queen of Smut that day! 🤣

I honestly thought it would be more common in the reverse harem genre and didn't think twice about writing it. It was only when I sent the chapter to my alphas, and they were like, "Whoa. Did not see that coming!" that I started to question if I'd actually managed to write a unique sex scene in a genre full of literally millions of them.

I'm sure it exists in books out there and there is a specific kink where I expect it's in a lot of books, but it wasn't done in that way. To me, it made sense to happen the way it did because he wanted to be sure how she'd react. I know I'm being annoying and talking around it, but even marking this review as a spoiler, I don't want to fully spoil it. If you know you know, and if you don't know, you can go read chapters three to five to understand it. It's important to note that reading chapter five out of context won't give you a full understanding of why it happened the way it happened.

Am I writing straight erotica in this book? Perhaps. I have no regrets. It's hot as shit and you all know what you're getting into. Honestly, if I could be one character in any book, it would be Lexi in this one. 🤤🥵

That's all she wrote…I'm going to go now and start book three off with a bang. 😉

Better than the first one

2.75/5

Definitely better than the first book.

The smut was a lot more descriptive and unambiguous. No weirdly fade-to-black-esque style scenes and better dirty talk overall.

In a book like this, I'm not expecting much, but I am expecting good spice.

I think the banter and chemistry between the characters still needs some work, but better than last time.

I still don't really like Lexi, but I can't pretend I'm not extremely jealous of her.

Dante was a bit more aggressive in this one and I loved it.

Nate and Logan are my FAVESSSSS.

Ash is alright, but I'm still on the fence. His dirty talk is pretty good though.

The plot was meh, very predictable, and I think it could've been better written had Ceinwen added a chapter or two of story. Not that I'm complaining about the amount of spice.

I also think that because the entire thing is only in Lexi's POV, it's a bit exhausting because it's the same things over and over again. I wish we got to see the other characters' POVs.

When you have so much spice like this, back to back, it can get boring. I think multiple POVs would have really helped.

I also think that the actual orgasms and the actions right before said orgasms need more description. I totally get that Lexi comes easily! But when none of her orgasms are adequately described it's difficult to not just sit there and think "another one?"

I also think that more dirty talk is needed. It's definitely better than the first book, but it needs more. This is a reverse harem, after all; I want layered dirty talk!

The Queen of Smut strikes again with the continuation of an extremely hot reverse harem with sexy as sin rockstars 👑

Now, I have to start by saying that Siân Ceinwen is overall such a wonderful person. I have had quite a few conversations with her about everything about this book and more. Even though we have become quite the sex discussing buddies I still write this review without any influence by her and I'm solely rating the book and not her as a person because that would be 10 stars without questions.

SPOILERS FOR WICKED BETRAYAL AND THE SERIES BELOW

This book has apparently 69.69% of smut. That's not a coincidence because Siân uses a system where she calculates smut by volume. Isn't that so cute and geeky? I adore that aspect of the book so much.

I don't want to spoil too much of the story because I think it's better to savour it. Just know, the book should come with a warning about bursting to flames because it's just that hot! The biggest of my wishes came through and Ash has become a more prominent character in this book *wink* *wink*. And he brings the dirty talk alright! We also see the other three and their interactions together and solo with Lexi. There is an overall tense vibe with Cassie's ugly ass in the background and you know she tries to start drama everywhere she goes.

Siân is truly the Queen of Smut because this book just brings all the smut to the bedroom and every scene is somehow original and even I, after reading 200+ smut books, find myself blushing! That's the sign of amazing spice with a little sprinkle of a story. And it's not just your basic smut, it's also educational, Siân places importance on safe sex and BDSM and it's a learning curve for both the characters and the readers. I really like this because it's not common and it's amazing to learn something while reading smut, honestly. The scenes are exceptional and you see all possible combinations of people and situations with some so original that you probably haven't read ever read anywhere. 🥵🥵🥵

I found myself enjoying the story more and more as it progressed, however, I noticed some things I didn't like that much. One thing, I need to see more solo scenes with Lexi and Nate, they didn't get that many of them in this book and his and Lexi's energy were my favourites of the first book and I'm missing it quite a lot. He feels more true to his relationship with Logan and it's taking a little bit of the harem dynamics. Other than that, I loved everything, I think all the interactions were true and believable and the different relationships were amazing for their own thing.

There is another thing, Siân made my dreams come through and used my name as one of the characters for the story. That just shows you how beautiful she is as a person. ❤️

4.5 stars

Thank you Siân Ceinwen for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC!

Boring and somewhat cringy

1st book started strong and quickly devolved into just sex no real storyline. Also sometimes cringy sex scenes that could have been steamy. I got the second book to see if it got better, but to my dismay I found myself skipping entire chapters trying to move the plot line along. Lexi is basically sex crazed, always wet and always ready to have more sex. There were times where She really needed serious aftercare due to the intensity of her bdsm scene, but nope just more sex right away. Lexi needed to be developed more as a character. Definitely giving up on this series sad that it started good but then fell flat. Better use of the plot line would have been to cause a huge scandal and third book would be a redemption arc but I digress.

I’ve had to turn the air conditioning on, my panties have melted off me and I feel like I need several cartons of cigarettes, and I don’t even smoke!

I wondered how the story was going to be stretched to three books, but it just goes to show you should never underestimate a talented author, and Ceinwen is definitely that.

Although she might describe the book as 69.69% smit, the sexy times are so wonderfully written you feel like you are experiencing the things Lexi is. Well, I did anyway.

Now, the book ends on a cliffhanger of sorts, and the only thing that may prevent you from reading this now is knowing Wicked Freedom is coming in a couple of months. I’m not one to usually re-read books, but I suspect this series will definitely be re-read a few times! Scents from the first book have been filling my mind during private times, and now I have even more fodder!

If you’re concerned about the amount of smit, don’t be. There is a solid storyline there and it grows so organically around the sexy times. The description of things is amazing, especially the consent involved in the BDSM scenes and the aftercare provided.

Because I think it also should be mentioned, kudos to Ceinwen for her Acknowledgment of Country at the start of the book. I believe it’s small acts like this that can help highlight the First Nations people of Australia, the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who’s land this always has been and always will be.

Finally, I’ll admit I received an ARC for an honest review. I don’t know if I could be any more honest than saying I absolutely adored this book. Bravo.

But here's why...

I have read the first in this series and immediately asked for the arc copy for this one. I love how poly love is shown and developed in this series. I look forward to the next one. 🥰 p.s. this author is now in my top 5 indie author list. 🥰😈

First off, I would love to thank Siân for giving me the opportunity on getting this arc 🥰💓

It was honestly worth the wait and she knows how I felt about the ending of book 1 😂

Wicked Betrayal immediately starts with what happened at the end of Wicked Opportunity.
And it all started with these last four words, “We need to talk.” Aka from Cassie who I strongly dislike with a passion and I am so glad “spoiler not spoiler alert* that her and Ash have broken up.

We do not need that negative energy in this house 😤 Besides dealing with that pending conversation, Lexi & her group of lovely/handsy men 🥵 are also working on getting their own place together.

As we go into the book, omg the smut factor this time has really raised the bar 🤪🤪 like I have a really long list of all of my fave scenes but will get into that later 😂😂

We also kinda have a new member 👀 that just joined our lovely harem & it is Ash 🤪 I hated Cassie from the start so I am so glad she’s out of the picture. I think when our fave group is coming back from the Napa trip, Logan kinda spills the beans that all 4 of them are altogether. Which kinda piques Ash’s curiosity and imma just leave it at that cause that’s gonna go to spoilers lmao.

But I’m glad we get to explore and learn more about Ash. & also how him & Lexi’s relationship grows even further. Imma give a shout-out to Logan cause he was able to get Lexi to kinda confess on some things she kept on the DL (down-low) but it does happened 🤩🤩

Dante, Logan and Nate = I love them so much and I have no words to describe on how much they love/care for Lexi so much and the aftercare for her after a scene really shows
😭💓 And that Ash is asking Lexi + the guys if he’s doing the aftercare good as well and making sure that Lexi is okay. My heart y’all 😤💓

Y’all are going to be with me when I say this freaking ending. Wait the sneak peek got me so mad, I wanted to throw a pillow at someone. I’m just like, this bitch will go down for sure.

Side note: I love Heather and how she is such a great gal pal to Lexi after the whole Cassie/betrayal fiasco. Definitely needed and also how it is cross-connected to The Cruise Control series (which I still need to read LOL)

Overall:
Rating: 5/5 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Spicy Rating: 5/5 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶

Sex is well written but not much else in the story. I started skimming past the sex scenes to try to find the plot. If your looking for plot next if u just want to read about sex this is the book for you.

Ash!!

So definitely picks up right where the 1st one left off. I like there was more plot than book 1 but there was also so much more smut! Lol. Which is great! The plot definitely keeps me on edge and I’m very anxious and dying to freaking know what is going to happen!!! I need book 3 like now so I can see where this is going.

::sigh::
I’d the author hadn’t be purposely trying to get as much spice as possible into this book (literally 69.69% of this book is the smut. And yes, that number is on purpose.), it could have been a novella. I’m all for smut and spice, but move the story along, too.

I got very frustrated reading this book and even found myself skimming to get to plot. But I still want to see how it’s resolved and that’s annoying. 😂

Who is a glutton for punishment? This girl right here.

So I told myself I wasn't going to read anymore of this series after giving the first book a one star review but morbid curiosity reared it's ugly head and after resisting for a few days, I finally gave in.

I mean, I had a general idea of where this was going to go but I had to sate that curiosity. One of these days I will learn. Today is not that day. But one day.

So you may notice that I gave this one two stars. Why, do you ask? Simply because of Cassie.

Now I'm not saying that Cassie was an amazing character or that her arc was mind-blowing. To be honest, if she had performed this arc in any other story, I'd have probably disregarded her and paid her no attention as she was still a weak character in general. But it was Cassie that actually provided some semblance of a plot to this second book.

Because once again, this story had no plot line beyond Cassie now blackmailing the band and Lexi.

Did the writing improve in this book? Not really. The writing style is still pretty juvenile at best. Every other page is Lexi getting off or getting one of her guys off in very non-descript ways. Of course, now we have the addition of Ash in the mix. But I'll get to him in a moment. I just want to state that I know this is a reverse harem and smut is to be expected - but when every other page has some sort of sexual act and there's absolutely no storyline holding it together? Makes me feel like I'm reading the book version Cinemax late at night.

Now let's talk about Ashton.

Ash is the now ex-boyfriend of Cassie - aka the girl trying to blackmail the group as she knows their dirty little secret. And as expected, Ash is suddenly sexually attracted to Lexi. However, Lexi wants to keep him at arm's length because she keeps thinking about Cassie calling her a slut and knows if she gives in to Ash, she'll be what Cassie deemed her.

Lexi's confusing line of thinking aside, what really got me was a scene in the car on the way to the airport. The guys are filling Ash in on their relationship with Lexi and Logan starts to Dom her to the point of humiliation. It was obvious from Lexi's mannerisms that she was uncomfortable but he kept it up and the icing on the cake? Was Ash telling her that he should have Logan command that she sleep with him or perform sexual favors for him, even after she said she didn't want to.

What? How is that even acceptable?

Thankfully, the guys did apologize afterwards. But I was already turned off of the story (what little there was) in general. So when Cassie came in with her demands, it actually peaked my interest again, even if it was weakly done.

So as I said, glutton for punishment. Especially since I will probably go ahead and get the third book in the series to see if there's any fall out from Cassie going to the media. Though I might just scroll past a lot of the book as I started to do wit this one as the constant sexual acts were just tiring after a point.

Betrayal feeds guilty worries
Wicked Betrayal (Something Wicked Volume 2) by Sian Ceinwen is an emotionally complex reverse harem that also feeds the carnal connection between Lexi and her loving men. The aftermath of Cassandra leaves Lexi reeling and conflicted about her needs, desires and wants (Ash now too!). There’s internal struggle that is at times overwhelming Lexi and as a reader, I felt as strongly about the betrayal as she did. The struggle is real and for a moment, her guys just don’t really know what to do, even her Doms make a few mistakes.
The plot of this reverse harem romance is the escalating betrayal and the possible impacts. None of them know what to expect and try to circumvent negative consequences. Try as they might, the evil betrayer is more diabolical than this loving group anticipated.
Overall, Lexi and her reverse harem weather the brewing betrayal storm with plenty of connection and heat and heart as this loving group solidifies into a solid unit. While that’s wonderful and satisfying, the betrayal aftermath is hot on their heels that is sure to throw Lexi into emotional turmoil yet again. And I can’t wait to see how all is resolved as Lexi, Dante, Nate, Logan and Ash distract one another into utter carnal bliss.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Wicked Betrayal by Sian Ceinwen is book #2 in her Wicked series trilogy. This series was the first reverse harem series I ever indulged in reading. As a reader, I will applaud Sian Ceinwen for writing so that each person is in a relationship and there is no cheating. Only two other authors that I have read since have pulled this off. Wicked Betrayal is about the band bass player; Ash’s former girlfriend, Cassie, knows that Lexie is in a sexual relationship with Nate, the lead singer, and Logan, the drummer besides her guitarist husband, Dante. Since Ash broke off with Cassie, she has decided to try and blackmail Lexi for her not to go to the tabloids with her explosive information. You will have to read to discover if Cassie will try and destroy Lexi and the Wild Stallion band. The heat factor is boiling in almost every chapter of the book. Some of the scenes were a little too much over the top for me, but I still read the book since it was “r-e-a-l-l-y h-o-t”!!! I can’t wait to read the final book of the series; Wicked Freedom, which is available to buy on May 19. Sian Ceinwen is a gifted author, and I would recommend any book she publishes.

Fun story, but it's dragging on.

The story is interesting. I like the plot (yes, there is some plot), I wish there was a bit more of the actual story and a bit less of the sexy scenes. If you're looking for kinky erotica, this is a good book for you. Literally a spicy scene in every chapter. That being said, it's more spicy scenes than I prefer. There's only so many different situations our girl Lexi can be in, and she's been in all of them, some more than once. I just want to know what happens in the story. I almost didn't read this book, since book one was so heavy on the sexy scenes. The relationships also don't feel very deep to me. They all feel like they are focused on the physicality, not as much on the emotional side. There's stress and drama, but it feels shallow to me.

I'll get the third book because I want to know how their story turns out, but I'm honestly probably going to skip most of the sexy scenes in that one. They are entertaining, but it's just overkill for me, personally.

This is book 2 in the Something Wicked series. Honestly I like this series and not just because the spice is on point. According to the dedication this book has 69.69% smut by volume which is a lot.

There is some definite character growth this time around which I enjoyed. Lexie has definitely internalized the shit Cassie said about her. She never worried that she was a slut before but having it said to her by someone she called a friend messes with her. I love how each of the guys helps her get out of her head and helps her see that she is treasured.

Speaking of Cassie, she can go kick rocks with no socks on. On the one hand, I want to be sympathetic cause she lost her boyfriend but on the other hand she brought it on herself. She definitely spirals and her behavior is disturbing to say the least. If you didn’t like her in Wicked Opportunity, you definitely won’t like her now.

The book ends with a cliffhanger but again not a shocking one.

All in all this is a fun, mostly light read. Sometimes you need a break from the super dark romances.

I am enjoying this series, but there does seem to be a lot of repetition. I do like all the characters and it is very entertaining but I can't help but feel that the predicament the band Wicked Stallion has themselves in is their own doing. It is quite literally smut all the time throughout this book, which is intriguing, but if they could just keep it in their pants at specific times, then they wouldn't have anything to worry about, LOL. But then I guess it wouldn't be a series with multiple books.

I do like how Heather and Harrison from Cruise Control show up multiple times in this as Lexi and heather have formed a working relationship. We also learn a bit more about H & H's relationship along the way.

I enjoy this author and looking forward to see how the band and Lexi deal with the fallout of going public with their relationship.

I was so excited when I received an ARC of this book. I didn't think it could get better than the first book. I have read close to 700 books and non come close to the amount of smut this book has. I honestly don't know how lexi can still walk 😂 I love the relationship she has with her guys they are all amazing and I loved the addition of ash it completed them all to me. I wouldn't even be able to pick a favorite out of the guys they are all that brilliant but Dante would come close 😉 I loved the story and the cliffhanger at the end and book 3 absolutely can't come quick enough I need more of lexi and harem! Definitely a must read for any who loves harems and a ton of sex it was on fire 🔥🔥

Book Review

This book was good, but not as good as the first one!! What really put me off it, was how weak and pathetic they are when it comes to dealing with Cassie!! That not•g needs to be taken down hard!! SHE so needs to go to prison for what she is doing to the band and Lexi, but they have basically given her the green light to blackmail thrm!! This doesn't sit right with me at all!! The band and Levi are being pussies, too scared of being found out about their relationships with each other!! They all need to man up and put that bit•h Caddie in her place! Other than that, the book is so easy to read, and I can't wait to read the third one!!

I can’t wait for book 3!

The perfect balance of spice and storyline. I think I preferred the explicit scenes in book 1 more, probably because it was my first book with the RH storyline, but this book is still hot af.

You know what’s coming the entire book and you’re just waiting for sht to hit the fan.

I do love the friendship that forms between Lexi and Heather and the fact they share so many similarities.

I can’t wait for book 3 to come out so I can see how everything pans out and how everyone reacts. I have certain suspicions about some things and I’m excited to see how close or far I am

Wicked Betrayal (Something Wicked #2)

I actually enjoyed the story part more in this book, not that there's masses of it, the tension was a bit gripping though!👍 I did find some parts of the multiple amounts of s€x a tad repetitive, at times! I really didn't like the car/airport situation, I'm not sure who I'm mad at about it, maybe all three of them?😔 I would love the mm & mmfm scenes to have more detail but from the male pov, it's so hot!🔥🔥
I look forward to book #3 releasing in May!🎉 I'm enjoying some good old fashioned 'Black Lace' style erotica.🌟

All smut, all the time

This is just rolling smut scene to rolling smut scene. Cassie is still a raging bag of 💩 that you will want to punch in the throat.

The addition of the fourth guy is good but scenes with him make me nervous because he takes things a little too far a but too often. He’s like a wanna-be-dom but doesn’t have Lexi’s best interest always in mind and he doesn’t pay enough attention to clues he is pushing her beyond her limits. He needs to learn some rules and respect and aftercare.

Book is 85% screwing.... No spoiler there, had to skip through reading the last 3 chapters of excessive f***ing. I had an issue of how 3 or 4 people own something and one person keeps saying in my apartment. The book would have been sexier if she wore clothes in the apartment. There just so much of sitting around naked on furniture one can take. The interaction with Cassie character was unbelievable from a business/lawyers perspective.

poly-Palousa and drama to boot

Is this a super spicy novel, yes. Is it also a plot heavy book, absolutely yes.

Steamy, spicy and stuffed with fun! I loved this book so much. This is book two of the series and must be read in order. There are few limits for Lexi in this book. If you love the concept of RH and/or why choose this book is for you. Fast paced and full of scenes that make you gasp with excitement. Not for vanilla readers. Good read.

Again, I don’t know how Lexi isn’t left completely reeling because I certainly am! I’m already anxious to find out what happens in book three 😬. I never really like Cassie in the first book, definitely don’t like her in this one. I absolutely love Lexi’s friendship with Heather! I love the growth Lexi and the guys go through in this book. Definitely glad I picked up the second book!

My review from book 1 stands.

This was just porn. No plot. Just the h hopping from one dick to another. But book 2 just added another dick. 🤷🏻‍♀️ to be honest, the extra dick added came across as a fking creep.

Wont be continuing the series unless I need some porn material but even this was super unbelievable. With the amount of sex the h got she shouldnt be like walking 🙄
