“chigiri is the prettiest boy in blue lock” i say into the mic. the crowd boos as i walk off stage. suddenly, a voice is heard and silence fills the room. “no... she’s right.” they say. i look for the owner of the voice and there, in the 3rd row... is jesus himself
4.5 Me: "Yeah, they will probably be betraying each other at some point in order to advance." * someone actually betrays another person * Also me: "OMG! THAT BACKSTABBING BITCH! HOW COULD HE?!"
the new characters at the end 😍 i don’t know why, but i have a good feeling about them.
KUON THIS FUCKING GUY 🤬🤬🤬🤬 i hate him so much.
honestly, how does each volume just keep getting better and more intense??? this series is really starting to cement that fact that it’s going to be one of my favs of all time 🤭
i’m so sad when i went to the bookstore i only got the first 2 volumes, i’m totally regretting it so hard 😭 this is definitely a manga i want to collect ALL the volumes for. PLUS ALL THE COVERS ARE FUCKING GORGEOUS.
i’m so excited to see them face team V, it’s going to be so good. and i’m also so nervous for it AHHHHHHHHHHHHH😳😳😳
Luck comes for Isagi as he unexpectedly helps his team score a goal thanks to his sheer determination. Their next match comes with a different type of scoring and as they play, a shocking surprise comes in the form of one of their own team members who will have a sneaky plan to get their glory. A (100%/Outstanding)
This manga keeps getting better and better as I read it!!!!
Personal Ratings : 4.75🌟
I absolutely LOVED Isagi in here and CHIGIRI IS SO BLOODY CUTE FOR WHAT!
I liked that the manga is so intense from the get-go, you don't get a moment's rest. There's something about the manga that has almost no filler scenes, and its very straightforward. The panels are beautiful, but there's something about the panels when the mangaka draws about during the 'peak' of the match, ESPECIALLY on Isagi's part.
There's something about 'the look' on the manga panels that gets me every single time, and honestly, I'm really falling in love with the twists and the plots for each match that they play with.
AND I MET NAGI IN HERE HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH AND EVENTHO IT WAS LITERALLY 1 PANEL I KNOW THAT I WOULD REALLY LIKE HIM my instincts were never wrong
They will be fighting for the final round next to get out of Level 5 and honestly? I can't wait. This manga saved me from a very bad day and lowkey, I'm thankful hehe.
With each volume I am more enraptured and in love with this story. In this volume I felt a tension between Igari and Kunigami😏 (obviously it's all my imagination lmao). So far, I love Bachira and Chigiri, I love them so much💖.
Team Z now faces another match against another team, they developed a plan to fight against this other team....so what can go wrong? Oh yes...there is a among them. XD
The football match is still going strong, but I imagine the anime version of the story can be even better because the audience will be seeing the match in motion!
The characterization is...okay-ish I guess, I don't buy it completely but I am still enjoying the story. But I do like how the MCs overcome the hardship this time!
A very Chigiri (and Kuon) based volume. We learn quite a bit about Chigiri, we get to see an exciting match (with a twist and some kick-ass scenes), and I was just rooting for our team to get through things. To win. Or at least tie because that also counts. The action/sport scenes were so cool! Yes, I am happy with this series. And that comes from a girl who is normally not that much into sports (watching at least, I love doing sports, haha).
I’m Chigiri right now. I get choked up and held back by fear, afraid to take a risk because I’m afraid of the consequences. So seeing Chigiri grapple with his feelings towards soccer was just hitting me right in the feelings.
I like the extra tidbits in this volume that was shaved out of the manga. When Kuon’s treachery was finally revealed, it made so much more sense because it was foreshadowed with details!!
Details about Ego Jinpachi are sprinkled in here and I’m very curious! Also free up Anri, she deserves better than being berated by Jinpachi and picking up his dirty draws.
No one will stop me from reading volume 4. Not if I can help it.

reread 8.3.24 my new favorite headcanon is that Reo is a super weightlifter because he gives Nagi's 6'3 self piggyback rides all the time without breaking a sweat
original review
oh so it's Like That huh
you would think betrayal wouldn't exactly be a surprise here but now i'm invested into how team z deals with it
Being a prodigy or being unable to play soccer again…there was something more important than both of those things. The day I first played soccer, that ecstasy of breaking last someone….That’s what soccer means to me. That ecstasy only I can savor.
…..If this misses or my leg gets busted again…then I’ll give up soccer. But if I make this goal and my leg still isn’t screwed up, then…make my dream a reality.
nagi & reo’s first appearance!!!! and also chirigi :’) i loved learning some of his backstory as painful as it was…i’m really curious how much further he’ll go now that he broke the chains of his past. the art style during his internal monologue was incredible.
Team Z works together to take on their next challenge but what happens when one of their own is the enemy? This volume is pretty fun, backstabbing always brings a sense of urgency to a story. The ending was great, and I'm eager to see where we go for the next match. Being rated M separates this series from most sports manga, everything feels more aggressive, and in a good way. A 4 out of 5.
