«Бурштинова казка про мандрівний корабель» від Куроіморі.

Одного разу прочитання «кімнат» (в нас видавало видавництво мальопус), я побачив це. Тоді воно лиш мало вийти. А зараз вже є. І я неймовірно захотів це на папері.

Це ще одна неймовірна манґа-артбук. Головна героїня Шіорі працює на летючому кораблі бібліотекаркою. І допомагає знайти своїм відвідувачам цікаві книжки за їх запитом. І отут найбільш прикольна з точки зору оформлення штука. Спочатку йде 2-6 сторінок манґи як історія. Потім читач отримує книгу і ми бачимо ілюстрації.

З головних героїв тут дівчина яка вивчає астрологію - будь ласка, ілюстрації знаків зодіаку. Таролог - будь=ласка дека карт таро (наче як у фізичному виданні їх навіть можна використовувати). Старий, який шукає свою подругу дитинства — ілюстрації та історії людей на кораблі. Історії про бойових жінок і кохання. Все є.

Загалом дуже мімішне видання. Сподіваюсь колись буде й українською.

Repéré sur les réseaux sociaux grâce à sa superbe édition collector (que je n'ai pas pu avoir... sniff), Steam reverie in amber est le genre d'OVNI que j'aimerai clairement voir plus souvent dans nos librairies. Entre manga, bande dessinée, artbook et recueil poétique, ce fut une lecture enchanteresse qui je l'espère fortement verra un jour une suite.

Parlons d'abord de l'objet livre en lui-même. Magnifique. de la couverture, au grammage, en passant par la qualité d'impression, même le bandeau publicitaire me donne envie de le garder (et c'est peu dire, ils partent tout le temps à la poubelle chez moi). Ce n'est pas un simple manga, c'est un beau livre à tous les niveaux. Et j'adore le soin tout particulier qui a été apporté à l'ouvrage tout en couleur. Cela donne clairement envie de découvrir le catalogue de la maison d'édition.

L'histoire est assez atypique. Si vous connaissez Trèfle des Clamp, j'y ai retrouvé cette même ambiance. Onirique, on suit des tranches de vies très différentes avec une mise en page différentes pour chacune. A chaque nouveau client, c'est une blessure que Shiori, notre jeune bibliothécaire cherche à panser. Une jeune fille solitaire, un amour perdu, une quête... des sentiments qui peuvent faire écho et qui trouvent des réponses parfois simples. Il suffit d'une oreille attentive, de quelques mots, d'une odeur qui vous transporte. Il y a un côté aussi très apaisant, même si la dernière histoire pousse notre héroïne dans ses retranchements, mais pour le lui permettre de rebondir. C'est doux et poétique. Parfois même de simples illustrations, les unes à la suite des autres, sans aucun texte, nous racontent toute une vie.

Si l'arrivée des clients est assez semblable, j'ai aimé le traitement différent qui s'en suit pour nous raconter leur histoire. Poèmes, cartes de tarot, illustrations... En plus de nous narrer une vie, les dessins de KUROIMORI sont absolument magnifiques. Dans une ambiance steampunk, les détails sont impressionnants faisant penser à Nausicaa ou le château dans les nuages des studios Ghibli. J'adore, je suis très réceptive, surtout qu'il n'y a clairement pas besoin de textes pour les accompagner. Elles parlent d'elles-mêmes.

Une petite pépite qui se lit vite mais qui marque. Je vais me répéter, mais une suite serait vraiment géniale, ou bien un dérivé de l'univers ou tout autre chose. Je serai preneuse sans hésitation.

Ce manga a un côté très poétique, c’est reposant et zen. Je me suis sentie apaisée après l’avoir fini. C’était bien agréable.
J’ai pris mon temps pour contempler les illustrations. Le style de dessins m’a beaucoup fait penser à du ghibli que ce soient dans les couleurs harmonieuses ou par le character design. Très steampunk dans l’âme… surtout dans l’ambiance instaurée.
Je ne peux pas parler des personnages, même si le dernier chapitre tourne autour de Shiori, ce n’est pas suffisamment développé pour que je m’entende sur le sujet.
C’est un coup de cœur pour ce one-shot.

Meraviglioso da vedere, disegnato fa dio, storie delicate ma sottili. Dopotutto, non è esattamente un manga. In una scala graduata tra manga e artbook, si posiziona più vicino al secondo che al primo. In questo è molto ben riuscito. La traduzione italiana è a tratti un po' strana, un po' disconnessa e innaturale. Non so se è un problema del source material o della traduzione in sé. È per lo più un lavoro dove molte pin-up si susseguono, molto gradevole esteticamente, sicuramente a qualcuno a cui piacciono le ragazze potrà piacere più di quanto sia piaciuto a me. Volumetto consigliato ma non imperdibile.

This book is absolutely gorgeous; not just the illustrations, which are beautiful and well-colored, but the stories as well. It's part written word, part manga and part art all wrapped into one. I don't think I can truly express how dynamic the artwork is with a variety of different poses and expressions, but my favorite part is how beautifully shaded they are, and the color choices made by the artist. The stories as well are interesting and leave you wanting to know even more about the characters involved. I could read this again and again. Very enjoyable!

Che meraviglia questa piccola e preziosa opera dell'artista Kuroimori! Un magico intreccio di poesia, astrologia, astronomia dai toni steampunk!
Seguiamo gli incontri di Shiori, la barista bibliotecaria, sulla nave volante Tomeship. Ogni cliente che arriva in questo locale "vagante" ha una particolare ferita che li accumuna ed è in cerca di qualcosa...
Disegni stupendi, full color, ottima impaginazione e la sovraccoperta è doppia, all'interno vi è un poster completo. Un'edizione davvero bella!

I received “Steam Reverie in Amber” by Kuroimori for Christmas, knowing nearly nothing about it. I added it to a list, that I gave my parents, because the a book with floating library airship, steam punk aesthetic and a pretty cover seemed very appealing to me.

Tonight, I sat down and read through it and I can say I loved it. One of the most gorgeous books I own. This will be a talking piece, that sits on my coffee table for a long time.

Compromised of 5 short stories which are accompanied by some of the most stunning art I have seen, I can’t recommend this enough.

The art in this is very, very pretty. But for me it's lacking in any sort of depth. The art reminds me a little of the intro scene of Laputa: Castle in the sky. Sketchy and soft coloring that blends nostalgia and modernism. Which will definitely be enough for some people.

Personally, I thought by the description on the back there would have been more of a story, but it felt like very loose vignettes as an excuse to draw anime cheesecake with gears.

Livre à mi chemin entre manga et recueil artistique, l’histoire est un prétexte pour mettre en avant les dessins de l’artiste : un peu déroutant et n’apporte pas vraiment de plus value aux oeuvres ! L’univers steampunk est magnifique, le trait est très beau, les couleurs sublimes… Mais bon, mettre une femme noire pour les cartes du zodiaque lion et capricorne, puis plus aucune par la suite ben : meh. Puis dessins de femmes sexualisées, attention, l’auteur est …. Un homme ! Bravo !

questo volume mi era stato consigliato dai ragazzi della fumetteria di fiducia, quindi le aspettative erano piuttosto alte e non sono affatto state deluse !
che dire, lo stile di kuroimori è pazzesco, uno dei più belli e particolari che io abbia mai visto. ogni disegno è curato nei minimi dettagli e lo stile di questa storia mi è piaciuto moltissimo, super raccomandato 💌

He disfrutado muchísimo este pequeño artbook que contiene alguna viñeta de manga. El arte es magnífico, el toque steampunk muy acertado. La nave es una librería-cafetería, no se puede pedir más. Lo único malo es que se queda corto en todos los sentidos: te acaba gustando tanto que quieres seguir profundizando en las historias y la nave.

C'est un très bel ouvrage sur le thème du steampunk. Le côté art book se fond à merveille dans les petites histoires du vaisseau-bibliothèque. Celles-ci sont très courtes dans une ambiance cocooning. J'ai passé un très bon moment rempli de douceur en compagnie de la responsable de la bibliothèque.
