This continues to be an extremely sweet and idealistic shoujo story, but I am always thankful that it is presenting a healthy and nice relationship where most of the “drama” turns out be very realistic for teens rather than turn out like a crazy soap opera.
I’m always thinking back and wishing this existed earlier because I see my own teenage worries (even if not romantic) being processed and worked on for the positive growth of the characters, which I would have absolutely benefitted from as a teen.
I’m glad the shoujo/romance mangas are evolving more and more to promote healthier relationships than they did before!
So far the first two volumes were my favorite, but after that my enjoyment for this series has just slowly declined. I will try and read the rest of the series as it comes out, just because the volumes are so short and easy to follow, but this isn't a series I would purchase and want to collect physical volumes of.
Maaya is not the type I like to read about. I was so frustrated through the school festival chapters, where she waffles about asking Chigira a very basic question. Then she has all these self doubts and starts feeling terrible about how she’s letting down the girls that asked, but she’s also terrible for wanting to ask…anyway, I wanted to shake her.
Got kind of cute again at the end. It’s funny that his mom told his little sjs that if she wants a younger sibling, she’s tired so leave it up to Chigira and Maaya 🤭 then Maaya casually dropping in there that she decided to have 10 kids. Unusually, she wasn’t at all flustered by the obvious implication that she and Chigira would have kids, but poor Chigira is choking in the background.
New girl showed up with negative vibes.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Maaya makes herself stressed out by taking on a task from girls in Chigira-kun’s class. It was worrisome seeing how much pressure she put into herself and I hope she learns to say no to certain things sooner. It was cute seeing Maaya and Chigira-kun have their first official kiss and how comfortable they got with kissing once their nerves went away. I also really enjoyed seeing Maaya meet Chigira-kun’s mother and younger sister. I’m curious going into this next volume since I hope the new/mysterious girl ends being a love interest for Tezuka-kun and not a love rival for Chigira-kun’s affections.
Sigh.... look I don't usually mind reading cute, innocent high school romance, despite being well past that age, and even though the inexperienced girl dates experienced guy trope is so well worn I can't help but eye roll, I can still push past it and find some enjoyment out of these simple romance stories. But, BUT... this series completely lost me when it implied in this volume that Maaya doesn't know what sex is. Not that she's nervous, not that she's not ready, no, that she doesn't even have a clue what Chigira is even talking about. Are you fucking kidding me. Was she raised under a rock!?
I really like this series so far, it's cute and light. Teen love in shoujo manga tends to feel heartwarming for me, this one too. I get why ml proposed his idea but as I read the stories there's time where I kinda want him to come clean or at least stop using that p-word. Overall I really enjoy the stories and characters, I get the fl and ml anxiety after learning more about them but once they stop using the p-word it's getting even more enjoyable and cute for me. Oh and of course it's a slow burn well not burn but you get what I mean.
These two are just so sweet and cute!!!! I love how worry he is about her and how she is worry about him. How his little sister was so shy at first but once she found out about how Maaya can do hair the excitement on his little sister face just so adorable!!! However near the end when she found out who that other girl was... but I can't wait to read more.....
I feel bad because I legitimately don't remember this manga. It's a cute spice of life story but apparently forgetable... Maybe the running was just bad for me, I'll have to reread the series to figure it out.
Tezuka helping and causing problems. He is my fav really. I knew this back story was coming it felt like this was gonna be the why. I love them together so cute and shy and respectful of each other. I am eating this up
What do you mean "get used to me faster." and "I can't hold back any longer"?? Fool, you have never had a girlfriend in your 15/16 years... you can hold back 15 more years... pfft.
